Guest Reviews
- Chloe (10/5): BEAUITFUL clean quiet location - Clean comfortable everything provided as described Nothing
- CHUNG LING (9/5): Lovely cottage - Location and cleanliness
- Melanie (10/5): Cycling holiday in Derbyshire - Everything. Clear instructions for arrival. Met by our friendly and welcoming host Ian. Clean, comfortable, with all facilities needed. Great location for our daily bike rides and a short walk into Ashbourne. We loved our stay there.
- Katie (7/5): Great location and facilities but needs a little freshen up - Great location.
Value for money considering location, parking and facilities such as can sleep up to 4. We’ve been here before and were sad to see it looking a bit tired - marks on the walls; the table was broken and marked; sofa and carpet need a good vax. Just needs a little updating and freshen up.

- Emily (10/5): A wonderful night, perfect base and everything we could need! Will definitely be back, thank you. - Lovely setup, very clean and homely in a great location!
- Jonathan (8/5): - A nice property in a quiet area. On site parking. I'd stay here again. The sofa bed was uncomfortable even by sofa bed standards.
- diane (10/5): Excellent bungalow, professional host - Beautiful well equipped modern bungalow, fab location to town and park Nothing
- Ian (10/5): -
- Dawn (7/5): Ideal comfortable stopover. - Very close to Ashbourne, nice, new property.
- Katie (10/5): Weekend away - It was lovely and homely. The facilities were great and it was so nice to be able to come back from our day out and relax in such a lovely and calm environment Nothing

- Julie (10/5): Perfect. - A lovely bungalow. Spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need.
Excellent location, literally across the road from the beautiful park and the town centre.
Update messages from the kind owner regularly.
Easy to find, park and enter.
Great value for money, and perfect for sightseeing wonderful Derbyshire. There was nothing not to like.
- Luke (10/5): - Perfect location, very clean and had everything that was needed for a little get away. Nothing.

- Adam (8/5): It was just what we wanted for a night after a day outdoors clean warm welcoming and local to tow - Location to walk to Ashbourne town centre is great esp with parking for one car. Really liked the open plan kitchen lounge area for family. As a whole spacious overall. Easy access to garden to let the dog out. Well equipped kitchen and with milk in the fridge and tea bags supplied after a long walk was very grateful. House warmed up quickly once we were in. The sofa bed could be more comfortable, possibly a 4th stool to eat at the counter? Or a small table? The rear fence between the cottages is very low and I was concerned our dog might jump over esp as the other cottage had a dog too. Doesn’t seem to be a black outside bin for large rubbish such as our takeaway or dog poo bag.

- Wendy (10/5): Beautiful accommodation in a great location - Modern, clean and well equipped accommodation. A very comfortable and cosy stay in a quiet area which was very close to the centre of town.

Close to local amenities but very quiet! Nothing to dislike!
- Tracy (10/5): Would definitely stay again - Lovely comfortable bungalow with everything that you could need,
- Brian (8/5): Very good . Ian was very pleasant to contact about any queries before we arrived . - Clean, well equipped, good sofas , master bedroom very nice with comfortable bed . Sofa bed pulled out okish , not that comfortable .
Well decorated. Good size rooms and bathroom. The sofa bed was easyish to pull out . Could have been more comfortable.

- Plant (10/5): Excellent for hiking adventure - When we arrived we were amazed by the finish and quality of the fixtures and fittings of the accommodation. It has a modern well kitted out kitchen and living room. The shower was excellent very hot, powerful and easy to use.
Perfect for hiking in the peak district.
The laminate floor was ideal for coming home from muddy hiking adventures. The only thing(if I was picky) would be the pillows could do with replacing.
Maybe a colander in the kitchen.
- Debbie (9/5): The property was very comfortable and in a great location. - Excellent location for Ashbourne town centre. It was just a few minutes walk.
- Helen (10/5): Perfect stay and great location - We booked this very last minute for a stay over on the way to Alton Towers. Ian the host responded to my messages super quick amd was really helpful. The cottage was easy to find, was spotless and had everything we needed for the night. Absolutely nothing.
- Alec (9/5): Lovely little cottage perfect for couples. We didn’t use the outside space as the weather wasn’t very good, but it looke - Really happy with where the property was situated. Perfect for access into town, restaurants etc A little awkward parking and reversing out of the property to the quite busy road at the end of the the lane.
It would have been really good to have aome shower gel & placemats.
****. Please note that the central heating thermostat in the kitchen was showing low battery.********
- Tracey (10/5): Beautiful Place - Beautiful modern & clean, easy access to town
Very comfortable No lamp in living room, just a small thing

- Mark (10/5): - Absolutely everything. Absolutely nothing
- Heather (8/5): - Lovely clean & convenient
- David (10/5): - It was very clean . The television worked. The bed was comfy & it was quiet Nothing
- Lauren (10/5): Amazing place, would 100% return. - Great location, extremely clean, everything you need in one place. Nothing
- Becky (8/5): Loved the place. Parking a little tricky. Property fairly central, within walking distance of shops -
- Glenn (8/5): Conveniently located little bungalow suitable for a short stay - Clean, location, able to sit out in small garden, safe parking Had to open windows in bedroom as smelled sweaty, outside areas needed tidying
- Bosence (8/5): We love Ashbourne.it was really welll located for the entire and nearby park . - It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Nice and quiet and private in the garden too and great to have parking. Good tv and easy to use. We like to cook and the kitchen was well equipped but the pans could be of a better standard and there were no lids. But there were all the things you need otherwise.
- Kay (9/5): Superb - Great location, very comfortable accommodation.
- Gary (10/5): Great stay with my family exploring Derbyshire - Modern clean and in a great location
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully located and lovely and cool in the scorching weather. Would have been nice to have a table and chairs, rather than a breakfast bar....but that's being petty.
- Daniel (10/5): Spacious, well-equipped, modern bungalow in a quiet but central location - Everything!
Size - very spacious
Decor - modern and well equipped
Location - very close to the centre of Ashbourne, yet still quiet We stayed during particularly hot weather - a couple of fans (or air con) would be useful, although the heat was quite unusual for Ashbourne, so probably not required very often!
- Jayne (8/5): Weekend in Ashbourne with an old friend - Modern, clean, good location. Lots of room. There was room for two small cars in front of the property (just) but in the email ‘welcome’ the day before arrival I was told could only park one car and would have to pay £20 to the neighbour across the lane to park in his driveway. There was a very visible neighbour present every time we went out and I’m guessing the owner has had to respond to anti-AirBnB whinges. That was the only negative.
- Dean (9/5): Superb -
- Shub (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paula (10/5): Great little place to stay - Great communication from the host, getting in to the property was easy. The house was nice, clean and warm. We slept very well. Could really do with a new set of cooking pans.
- Simon (10/5): Good location clean and tidy and modern. - Clean and good location excellent communication.
- Joanna (10/5): Good for a family short break - A spacious alternative to a hotel room for a family trip to Alton Towers. Well equipped, easy to understand heating system and a lovely shower. The kitchen and garden were a selling point for me, although the weather meant we didn't get to use the outside space, but it would've been appreciated if it had been dry. I would happily stay here again. The sofa bed was very springy - a thicker mattress would help. And definitely need some hooks in the bathroom, and a big shelf would be useful too.
- Susan (10/5): Lovely bungalow in an excellent location - Excellent location. A couple of minutes walk to the town which was very convenient.
All the rooms were a good size. The kitchen was well equipped. The shower room was large.
All parts of the property were new and clean. We didn’t use the garden but if you did, there is only a very low fence between this property and the next so wouldn’t be private.
- Julie (9/5): Wonderfully situated and immaculate property ! - Immaculate property and Ian the host was very communicative - very local for the centre of Ashbourne ( just down the hill ) . Reversed onto driveway without intruding on neighbours property as that made it easier to get out . Sofa bed mattress was not the most comfortable but ok for three nights .
- Lynne (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely well equipped and clean accommodation in a quiet area. Excellent location being a few minutes walk to Ashbourne
- Jayne (8/5): Fantastic short break in a lovely modern bungalow will definitely be returning - Fantastic location with a short walk to the centre of Ashbourne and spotlessly clean accommodation Everything is this property is modern and new. Could benefit from better quality duvet and pillows.
- Pam (9/5): Superb - Enjoyed outdoor space, good weather allowed breakfast outdoors. Good access to local town.
Clean and comfortable. Property, furniture and soft furnishings were of high spec. Perhaps a little clinical?
Reversing from the property is not ideal
- Wayne (9/5): Superb -
- Kate (9/5): Superb - Property was exceptionally clean All fine
- India (8/5): Very good - Lovely and spacious bungalow with 2 parking spaces and in a great location. Lots of cooking tools provided which meant I could make a nice meal for everyone on the first night! There was a slight damp smell in the double room.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - The property was very comfortable. It had everything you need and was close to the Ashbourne, 2 minute walk
- Dawn (10/5): Petfect - The cottage was ideal, clean, comfortable. Exactly what we wanted and excellent value for money.
- Petre (10/5): Plenty to see on the area . - Very nice cottage , we just booked for one night but wish to come back in future.
- Harris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Terry (10/5): Lovely bungalow - Lovely little bungalow, great location. Had everything we needed Would be useful to have a stick vacum.
- Sammie (10/5): Exceptional -

- Cheryl (9/5): Superb -
- Philip (9/5): Booked this place after a hotel cancelled our booking last minute. Actually quite glad they did now. - Modern and well equipped in a good location. The property had everything we needed. Access was easy and the place was nice and warm. Nothing to fault. Reversing down the lane was a little tricky with other vehicles and another property making it quite narrow. That’s all.
- Ian (9/5): Good for weekend break in the Peak District - Central location Excellent property Nothing
- Alastair (9/5): Lovely little holiday cottage in a lovely place! - Everything was as pictured and was lovely and clean, nice location and only a short walk to the town! 😄👍🏻 There wasn’t anything to dislike about the property, the neighbours in the cottage next door were very loud unfortunately but that does not reflect on the property itself as the place was very nice.
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional - We loved this cottage, it had all the necessary amenities and it was really well presented. The cottage was immaculate, it was in an optimal location that allowed us to explore the local town and the surrounding areas. The host was always available to answer any enquiries and questions. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet getaway in the peak district.
- Heath (10/5): Spot on, exactly as described. An enjoyable stay. - Host spot on, property perfect for a nice comfy self catering experience.
- Becca (9/5): Superb -
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you for the milk left in the fridge. Perfectly located to assist us with visiting local family.
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good -
- Deborah (9/5): Superb -
- Cheryl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barbara (8/5): Ideal for us and we would be happy to stay here again - Location, spacious, very clean Having a table and chairs for eating rather than using just the breakfast bar.
The bathroom needs a unit / shelf by the sink for wash bags and toothbrushes.
- Mark (10/5): Everything was more or less perfect thank you -
- Stephanie (9/5): Great property, great location - Great property, clean & tidy It was freezing - 11 degrees on arrival and didn’t feel warm until the next morning
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (9/5): Great nights stay - Clean, tidy and comfortable Driveway small and had to reverse all way down the road, other than that ideal stay
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Lovely place in a quiet spot just a couple of minutes from the town centre. Was great for a last minute booking!
- Tom (7/5): Good -
- Julia (9/5): Superb -
- Clive (8/5): Very good - The property was centrally located, quiet and close to town. It was well equipped. Overall, the property was welcoming and homely. The pull out sofa bed was quite to my taste comfort wise, but it was convenient to have 2 beds.
- Margaret (10/5): Comfortable and convenient - New, clean, well laid out Unlit road
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was spotless, and there was lots of room for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Perfect location for going to alton towers. Owner kept me.in the loop on everything and left us some.milk which was a nice touch after a long drive down from Scotland. Nothing
- Deb (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (9/5): Good place to stay and within walking distance of Ashbourne centre. - Property lies down a dead end with some houses around it. Easy to find and to park. Well furnished and fitted. Garden out the back. I had difficulty connecting to WIFI...phoned owner and he gave me the correct information for connection. He said to call again if I needed anything else. There was milk in the fridge. There are no chairs in the property...just settees and stools with swivel tops. There is no shelf in the bathroom on which to put toiletries ...ad no stool if needed to sit on, for example. KITCHEN: The wall cupboard with the plates in it is at the end of the run and over an overhanging breakfast bar. I could not reach the plates as they were on the far end of the top shelf and the cupboard doors do not open flat so I could not reach into the cupboard from the breakfast bar side either. (I am 5'2") There was nothing I could stand on to gain access. I used a bowl instead. Neverthless a good place to stay.
- Charles (8/5): Great property, fab stay. Be aware of the 10am checkout time. - As advertised and great location. 10am checkout time is not ideal.
