Guest Reviews
- Leslie (9/5): Great place to base your stay in Inverness / Culloden - Loved the hospitality of Alan - what a great host. The bed was super comfortable. The location was in the countryside, very near Culloden and Clava Cairns with easy access into Inverness. The view was lovely and the welcome bottle of wine much appreciated. Was a wee bit disappointed that the apartment did not open up onto the porch as depicted in the photos. The view was great from the bedroom window, but to get to outdoors we had to go around the building. But we made it work!
- Alec (10/5): A gem in the Scottish Highlands! - This is an amazing property, and the hosts, Alan and Laura were a pleasure to meet and talk to. The property is annexed from the family home. The facilities provided were excellent and clean. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts, even emptying our trash from the kitchen during our stay, while we were out. It was great to have the use of a washing machine and clothes dryer during our stay, in the apartment. The location was excellent, close enough to downtown Inverness, easy access to the A9 and 5 minutes to Culloden. We made new friends and will definitely be re visiting on our next trip. Nothing. Everything was as we expected. Hosts make sure you stay is relaxed and stress free.
- Jinal (10/5): - The apartment is spacious and has everything one could need, be it for a short stay or a longer one. It's remote enough that you get to enough peaceful mornings. The host is amazing, he gave me a thorough walk-through of the apartment. Apartment is equipped with nespresso, tea and coffee, along with milk, a bottle of wine and some small snacks.
Location is great if you're driving, short drive from city center and close to Culloden, if you're interested in visiting. I saw there were some buses going on this route too.
One thing to note- if you plan to use the laundry facilities, you'll need to bring your own detergent. Nothing!
- Judith (10/5): Alan was an excellent host with comprehensive information about the property and the area. - N/a Nothing
- David (9/5): Would highly recommend - Very very clean. Nice touches. Friendly host. Excellent, soft, towels There seemed to be a slight smell of smoke in the property. Perhaps previous visitors had been smoking. Otherwise everything was excellent. Would highly recommend.
- Gertraud (9/5): -
- Marco (10/5): -
- Timothée (10/5): - The accomodation is fully and very well equipped. Alan has been a wonderful host and knows how to welcome his guests and make them feel at home.
Perfect stay near the city centre and the Loch Ness.

- anna (10/5): - La casa è comoda e ben divisa. Ha tutto quello che serve per soggiornare. Silenziosa. Alan è un host davvero molto gentile e disponibile. Un'ottima soluzione a pochi minuti in auto dalla città. Nulla
- Piet Arens (9/5): - De gastvrijheid. Warm welkom Niets
- Chris (9/5): Lovely location and host - Really nice location, warm welcome. Clean, compact and everything you could probably need. Will be back Nothing if I'm being totally honest, we could have done with a longer stay but that's on us
- Judy (10/5): Friendly host and peaceful setting. - A comfortable one bedroom, ensuite annex with a couch, bar stools at the bench and kitchen. There was a bottle of wine in the fridge and some snacks. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals. The washing machine was in a cupboard along with a drying rack. Alan met us and went through everything. It was also written down. There were pamphlets on things to do. The instructions for finding the property were excellent and there was parking next to the annex. The outlook was onto a large lawn and trees. Alan is a friendly helpful host. Nothing! We had a car, but you would need one as it is in a semi-rural residential area
- Joseph (10/5): This was the best accommodation we’ve stayed at during our UK trip. - Very spacious, well equiped apartment. Very helpfull hosts. A real home from home. Nothing - this property deserves a 10/10 rating.
- Lena (10/5): Homely comforts - Quiet , secluded apartment overlooking private garden yet easily accessible to main motorways and facilities. It is clean and well equipped with the necessary home comforts.
Personal touches like providing the different grades of towels and even bathrobes and bedroom slippers. Nothing major
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional - Comfortable unit in a country setting.
Self contained. Able to catch up on some home cooking and do a bit of washing. Great place for a base in this area.
- Shannon (10/5): Glasphein Annex, a gem close to everything yet secluded in the Westhills of Inverness. - Allan is such a great host! So helpful and knowledgeable. I love history and he is so well versed in everything you will ever need to know about Scotland. What a treat! Nothing whatsoever about my stay, other than I wish it was longer, but I needed to move along to other destinations..
- Victoria (8/5): Good place to stay within easy reach of Inverness. Helpful host, quiet location. - Very quiet location but close to the A9 and Clava Cairns, Alan very helpful with ideas to go and eat, shop etc. Very suitable as a stop before going through Inverness. Would have liked another table and not just the breakfast bar.
- Arelle (10/5): Awesome-ness in Inverness - The location, close to everything — from tourist sites, the city center, necessity places.
The house itself — amazing house, good and very thoughtful amenities, the hosts thought of everything
Our hosts — Alan and Laura were very welcoming. Alan gave us a very thorough rundown of the property and even gave us recommendations as far as food and the good sites to go to. Very helpful.
Will definitely stay here again! none
- Chantal (10/5): Perfect , peaceful and relaxing with lovely hosts . - What a beautiful place to stay. Very clean with everything you need for a stay. Alan was a lovely host. Great communication from booking until we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. Situated in gorgeous grounds. Very peaceful and restful. I would definitely recommend it again and most definitely stay here again. Thank you
- David (10/5): Absolutely fantastic with incredible hosts. - Everything was perfect. Alan & Laura also left a card, flowers and wine as a surprise for my birthday which was the most special welcome . We couldn’t thank them enough for our stay, would absolutely recommend and would love to go back :) Nothing.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Alan (the host) was truly gracious and really took extra care in making sure his guests had every convenience during their stay. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen was well thought out, and the bath had plentiful hot water. Best stay of our tour through Scotland. Not a thing.
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Jill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elodie (10/5): Perfect place to visit ! - Alan is such a great, no, a perfect host !
The place is perfect too. We spend 2 days there and everything you need is in.
The bed is so comfortable! The deers in the garden are a magic plus !
It's easy to visit around.
Quiet, comfy, beautiful.
I think we'll be back a day! Nothing !
- Lynda (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great. Spotlessly clean, wonderful bed, super comfortable, and quiet private location. Alan was very helpful with advice about the area and met us when we arrived and helped us with our luggage. Would definitely stay again given the chance!
- Kirsty (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely fabulous stay. Alan & Laura were so welcoming, the house had everything guests could possibly need, it was a beautiful location and very cosy. Nothing I would change! Wish I had booked longer!
- Katya (10/5): Quiet spot, close to town. Clean and comfortable. Host Alan is a star! - The place was perfect for our short stay in Inverness. A lovely quiet “semi-rural” location but still close enough to the city by car or public transport. The Annex was immaculate and well equipped - one could also consider a longer stay there. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept excellently. Alan was very kind and helpful throughout our stay, always contactable via phone and quick to reply. He gave us excellent suggestions on local spots to eat and drink, tourist info and was extremely welcoming. Highly recommended to stay here when in Inverness and would gladly stay again. Nothing. Everything was perfect!
- James (10/5): Excellent choice for self contained party of 2. - Comfortable self contained annex. Spotlessly clean. Everything you need and more. Alan was super helpful and friendly. I have no hesitation in recommending this place to stay.
- Hernan (10/5): Americans had the best accommodations with the best hosts! - We met Allen at the property which was great for someone new to the country. We had questions and he had answers. He went above and beyond to help with everything. It’s hard to find things I didn’t like on this stay. If anything, I’d say the property could use a full length mirror and a soft throw blanket to cuddle up on the couch with.
- Megan (10/5): Perfect start to the NC500 - Beautifully located in a quiet area a short drive away from Inverness city centre. Alan & Laura were so friendly to ensure we felt right at home and they provide so much information about the local area, good places to eat and visit. Everything we could have possibly wanted was included
- Gib (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (10/5): A cliche, but it was home from home - Everything was provided - tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and WINE. It was almost like staying at a friend’s place in that one was immediately made to feel comfortable. Absolutely nothing - one regret I wished we brought slippers as it felt like home
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Great hosts! Quiet area close to the city with a relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely stay again. Thanks.
- Polly (10/5): The best host in Inverness and lovely property. - Allan, our host gets 5 STARS for his welcome! He made sure we were all settled and had all the information for a great stay. The location is perfect for getting to lots of tourist spots. We highly recommend a stay at this property! Perhaps a comfy chair in the lounge and a sofa that’s not so low to the ground. Otherwise, it was outfitted nicely.
