Breakfast fantastic and the lady who served us both days was brilliant! So friendly and accommodating! People behind the bar were also so lovely and friendly, as well as the wait staff when we had our evening meal. We had planned to eat out but due to the very reasonably priced menu we decided to eat here and so glad we did! Lovely food and very good price! Thoroughly recommend staying and eating here.

The evening meal we had was very good and reasonably priced. Good choice for breakfast. Nothing really except the weather and not much the hotel could do about that.

• Lesley (7/5): Short break - In a good location, near The A1m which was not troublesome. Good parking. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good WiFi. Drink tray provided. We had a smaller room, bed too small for adults over 6ft. The room was very hot even with the heating off. Fan provided which was quiet and effective. Could not leave window open as noise from kitchen extractors very intrusive.

Food was terrific, large portions and served super fast. Defiantly return when next in the area - thank you for a great stay Hard to say really, it was a little remote but felt like the centre of town in the evening

• Leanne (10/5): Exceptional!! 5☆ B&B! - We stayed two nights while visiting for a funeral and so glad we chose the Three Horseshoes. Even before our stay they were so informative and accommodating. The room was beautifully furnished, it was clear a lot of thought and love has gone into the decor. Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, with beautiful countryside views and horses in the field. Then the restaurant, wow! We had a meal the first night; Sirloin Steak and Ribeye Steak (both cooked perfectly) and Mixed Kebab Skewer - the food couldn't have been better! Then brekkie in the morning was so good! Fresh quality ingredients, all drinks included. Lovely atmosphere with background music and such friendly attentive staff. Highly recommend and would 100% book again if ever in the area! 🤩 Nothing

The staff were all lovely, the man who checked us in took us to the room and was chatty and friendly. The food in the restaurant at dinner and breakfast was lovely. We will definitely stay again.

The rooms are cosy and the bed was very comfortable Only thing was that we missed breakfast as we had to leave at 8am and breakfast on Sunday starts from 9am. However the staff left us a packed breakfast to take with us

• Philip (10/5): We had an absolutely fantastic stay, and would highly recommend! The staff are exceptional . - This was our first ever visit to the area. We were made welcome instantly and shown our lovely room. Evening meal was so yummy, with good vegetarian options. I really enjoyed veggie haggis with tattie potatoes. The next morning our breakfast was also delicious with perfectly cooked poached eggs every time, as was the rest of our food. My oatmilk cappuccino was spot on. Food hot and served promptly, with a good choice of vegetarian options again, served by efficient and friendly staff, who where very informative about the local area when asked. The whole place was absolutely spotlessly clean. Our bed was so comfortable, with good quality bedding, and we heard hardly any noise whatsoever, and slept soundly. We are actually over the moon with our stay, and feel that we got exceptional value for what we paid, and we wish that we could have stayed longer! Well done to all the lovely staff, each one of you really made our stay extra special! It was perfect. No, complaints.

• Carmel (10/5): Excellent stay under difficult circumstances for us as visiting two very ill relatives. - Excellent selection on menu for breakfast and evening meal. Good quality produce and well cooked. Staff were smiley, friendly and very helpful. Room not massive but perfectly adequate and tastefully decorated with pleasant view. Smoke alarm detector light on ceiling in bedroom shone very brightly at night which was a bit annoying when trying to sleep. Would bring sleeping mask next time. Could do with somewhere to hang the small towel in the bathroom.

• Jane (9/5): Excellent again - 2nd visit and still excellent. A long way to go to get a better breakfast than this, its no wonder they are heaving at weekends. Food is incredible, rooms lovely, staff friendly. Will be back.

I wish we had the option to have booked dinner when booking the hotel. As is was very busy when we arrived and the food looked amazing (we came back the following evening before we drove home to end our trip we where not disappointed. The breakfast was excellent quality with a massive choice to choose from too. Nothing very satisfied we had a lovely stay

• Mildred (8/5): A very comfortable stay with a fantastic breakfast. - This is located in a quiet area and close enough to visit Beamish for the day. It was spotless clean, and the restaurant was good, however the bar area could be better. The room itself was good but the configuration was poor. There was nowhere to put cases or hang coats which isn’t good for wet clothes. The coat hangers were above the tea making facilities. That said, we would stay again. The room configuration and the bar area. The restaurant made up for the bar.

We had our evening meals in the Back Room dining area and were pleased with the range of options and the freshness of the food which was cooked to order.
