• Lee (10/5): Wonderful place to escape, unwind and relax. - The Cambrian Cottages is a fantastic place to unwind and get away from it all. Nestled about a mile up a small country lane these wonderful apartments have fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. Upon arrival we were met by our hosts who showed us around and imparted the all important 'local knowledge' of where to visit, where to eat etc. The apartment we stayed in (The Stable Loft) was sympathetically converted and had a modern and welcoming feel, with open plan living which included a well appointed and modern kitchen, comfy sofas and a wood burner for the chilly evenings in the Welsh countryside. The bed was warm and comfortable, the bathroom was modern with a decent, powerful shower. The location is a great base for hiking or mountain biking the Brechfa Forest trails and surrounding area, this really is a wonderful rural retreat where you can get away from it all and relax surrounded by an abundance of wildlife and beautiful views. Nothing.

The entrance was practical to leave space for muddy shoes and wet jackets. The owners were also very thoughtful to have other items available such as a cafitere to make coffee. • Mariola (10/5): Relaxing stay in a beautiful part of Wales. - The accommodation is set in picturesque surroundings. It is very quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed good weather during our stay and chose to visit the fantastic Welsh coast to the north. We loved the coastal path and the beaches, especially Penbryn as it is dog friendly. The wifi was fine with a good TV and the kitchen was well equipped. Nothing.

• Julia (7/5): Amazing place in a tricky location (and with the wrong name!) - The house is gorgeous from the inside and out. It's spacious, comfortable, the bathroom is modern and the views outside are magical. The owners were very nice and patient, helped us with the issues we had within minutes. The only reason this amazing place gets a low grade is this - location. The problem is that the title here says that the name of this accommodation is "Charming Countryside Barn". It's not! It's actually Cambrian Cottages. No clue why it isn't mentioned here! When we booked I looked for "Charming Countryside Barn" in Google Maps and there is a location with this very name, 45 minutes (drive) from the real location of this place. When planning a trip this is crucial. This confusion caused us to drive around for more than 4 hours and arrive very late at night, and messed up our trip plans a bit. Yes, I should have checked the actual address, true, my bad. But why confuse people and not just write the actual name here?... On top of that - this location is VERY secluded. Some people love that, we felt we were in a middle of nowhere without a living soul out there. Not our thing. If you want to go out for a coffee you need to drive for at least 10 minutes or more. Also no lights AT ALL outside, so after 10PM you see complete darkness when opening a window or the door - spooky. If there was at least some outside lighting installed it would feel a bit better. Bottom line - expectations is the key. I'm sure many guests loved this area, but this is not for everyone.
• Andrew (9/5): Recently refurbished and well equipped self-catering apartment. - This was a lovely place, ideal for a short or longer self-catering break. The accommodation is an old farm building that has recently been refurbished to a very high standard. It was very clean and comfortable. The location was ideal for us, because we were visiting family who were only a couple of miles away. It's off the beaten track, but the directions were very detailed and we found it with no problem. For a remote location, the WiFi was excellent. The only very minor quibble was that the glassware cupboard didn't include wine glasses!

• Rosalynd (10/5): Lovely modern barn in tranquil location - The property is set in a lovely, quiet location and I am sure there would have been excellent views from the courtyard had the weather not been so awful when I arrived! Libby is a friendly and helpful host and made sure I knew where to find everything. The property itself is recently refurbished and so everything is tastefully decorated and works well. I particularly appreciated the excellent water pressure in the shower. The bed is comfortable and warm and the kitchen is very well equipped. I would definitely stay again if in the area.

The quality of the items and products provided to guests is exceptional, reflecting the high standards Libby and Peter maintain to make every stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. It's clear that they put a lot of thought into every aspect of their service, which makes the stay even more delightful. Finished to a high standard everything you could have wanted was there. I loved the log burner, the main bed was soooo comfortable (we didn’t use the second room) Shower room perfect and kitchen well equipped. It was so kind of the hosts to leave milk, butter, conserves & Welsh cakes too Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. Nothing it was perfect!!

• Vanessa (10/5): Excellent location, with hosts you could only dream of. A perfect getaway! - We stayed for a full 7 nights, and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. We were greeted in person by one of the hosts, and there was always somebody available for any questions or concerns we had. Friendly, approachable, and attentive hosting that really cannot be praised enough, and though the actual location is beyond picturesque, the facilities within the accommodation are fantastic. I had to be dragged away from the shower each day, the bathroom is perfection! The kitchen facilities are easy to use with an induction hob, fan oven, and a very high end dishwasher, and the welcome pack is an excellent touch! Butter, milk, a small selection of condiments, and plenty of washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. I could go on and on and on, this truly was our best holiday yet, and that was achieved in no small part by this beautiful accommodation. Access to and from the road is a little uneven, our car is average sized and moderately distanced from the ground, and we scraped the road every time when leaving, but I must stress no damage was done to our car! Additionally, a few lighting hiccups throughout the stay - the kitchen light didn’t seem to work 100% of the time, flickering on and off. There was also a small blue light in the wall of the bedroom that flickered quite aggressively and continuously, we covered it with pillows in the end as that, plus the lack of blackout blinds, it made falling asleep a little difficult.

Peaceful environment with lovely scenery. Only downside was the lane down to the barn conversion as it wasn’t great access for hatchback vehicles. Which caused scrapping to under the bumper.

• Nicole (10/5): Best place we've been - Absolutely blown away. The photos are great but still don't do the place justice. Not only is it's in a stunning location, the apartment is beautiful. Fitted out with a very stylish kitchen and bedroom, the bathroom was the jewel in the crown. I suffer with high functioning anxiety especially when it comes to cleanliness as I have Emetophobia, so it's always important I have cleaning supplies with me. But this place was immaculate! The owners both greeted us and we're lovely. We're looking forward to returning. Nothing

Everything had been thoughtfully considered to a high standard with all you need to make the stay both comfortable and better than your own home. A couple of great night sleeps in the best beds you could ask for, wonderful rural location but close enough to get to a main road. Top of our list for a repeat visit to the area and would highly recommend to others.
• Rene' (10/5): Best stay in the UK! - This was by far the best place I have stayed in - ever! Brand new. Super clean and comfy. Lovely little touches - fresh milk, pancakes and jam, stylish sjampoo and liquid soap holders - even a small bin with stuff you may need like threads and needle. Beautiful farm surroundings, picnic/braai surrounded by trees and a brooke- so peaceful. Directions took me straight to the accommodation. Everything was perfect.

The views are stunning. Lovely welcolme pack with lots of information, hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable. I wished we were staying a bit longer. Pubs are a bit of a drive to get to for food a good 25 mins. The driveway is not suitable for a smaller, low car very bumpy.

• Therese (10/5): Gorgeous, high spec barn conversion in the perfect spot for a quiet countryside getaway - we loved our stay - gorgeous barn conversion with very high spec finishes and the location was just perfect for a quiet, secluded stay in the countryside while still being close to the Carmarthen township. The owners were lovely and friendly. We had a great stay and would happily recommend to others - and come back again! oh and thanks for the nommy welsh cakes and jam, we did enjoy those very much :-) this did not take away any joy from our stay, but the only downside was the drive into the property - there were some serious pot holes in the driveway. would be more suited to a 4x4 than our wee mini :-) . Hopefully they are planning to fill them when the weather improves?

The design of the barn conversion is absolutely stunning and really faultless. Bedrooms are cosy and comfortable, kitchen was so well equipped and provided you with what you needed for cooking, bathroom was beautifully clean, living room was cosy; we were going to head out on the Saturday evening but felt so content staying in and relaxing with the fire on, we didn’t feel the need to bother. 😻 You really feel off grid which is just what we wanted. The owners are lovely, accommodating and responsive! Strong Wifi, good TV & hot showers, just perfect. Seriously if you’re thinking about booking this place, don’t hesitate because it’s going to come to a time where it will be fully booked 24/7! 5 ✨ from us. It was perfect 🌟

The owners were extremely helpful and welcoming. Very clean. Great green space for our puppy. A washing machine would be really useful for longer stays.

Even dog treats a dog ball and pwp bags. The attention to detail was incredible. Pete and Libby are truly fantastic couple. This was probably one of the very best places we have ever stayed.
