- Paul (5/5): - Lovely location and views. Great walks in close proximity. The accommodation hadn't been cleaned to an acceptable standard, and I had to call the host to point our our dissatisfaction which was very uncomfortable. They both did carry out very brief cleaning in our prescence, which again was extremely embarassing for us!
Despite our complaint, the cleaning was very brief and below the expected/required standard.

- Katie (8/5): Comfortable stay in the Peak District - Great location, plenty of walks in the Peak District nearby. Chinley is close by with cafes, restaurants and pubs.
The property is bigger than it looks on the photos and was comfortable for a night away. I’m not sure if the property hadn’t been stayed in for a little while as there were quite a few dead insects on the floor and some cob webs, so I suspect that it had been cleaned after the last guests but then not checked over prior to our stay. The skirting boards looked like they could do with a wipe over too.
- Paulina (10/5): -

It is ideal as a base to get out to explore Derbyshire.
It is a comfortable place to relax in the evening. Everything you need is in the kitchen, the bedroom is a decent size and the bed is really comfortable.
The lounge is good too, with a table and chairs. Plus, a comfortable sofa.
The TV is a good size with Netflix, Disney etc already on. N/A

- Ann (10/5): Stayed here overnight while visiting family. Tucked away but owner picked up mobile and resolved immediately. Super co - Everything was perfect and attention to detail faultless. Nothing
- Olivia (10/5): - Lovely cosy little place, the owners have thought of everything you need for a comfortable nights stay. We stayed here as a halfway point whilst travelling back home and it was refreshing to walk into a clean and calm environment with fresh milk & snacks available!
- Kateryna.levchenko (10/5): -
- Steve (10/5): -
- Joanna Bruce-Jones (6/5): It was fine for what I needed. - Well provided for in terms of being able to eat, sleep and wash.
Lovely free-range eggs available to buy. They were beautiful. The fridge, skirting boards and corners of the rooms were not very clean.
There was a complimentary snack basket in the kitchen but it looked as though it had been raided before I got there. The salt mill was empty.
I couldn't open any of the windows other than the kitchen.
The sitting room was over-crowded with too much furniture, ornaments and plastic flowers.
The sheets on the bed were a bit like nylon.
- Yvette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (10/5): Cosy, modern 3 room bungalow in the Derbyshire countryside. - Modern and tasteful, with stylish decor & furnishings without being overpowering.
The kitchen was very well equipped with all the modern appliances you may find in your own home.
We only spent 1 night there but I would say 4+ days would be quite a cosy stay. Enough time to take advantage of all the facilities.
The owners who live on site are friendly and showed great hospitality.
Dog friendly, a dog bed and blankets provided (tucked away behind the chair in the bedroom)
Set in a small hamlet, it has great views of the Derbyshire hills. Very quiet at night. Nothing to not like.

- Tim (10/5): Exceptional - Very well equipped, lovely location and the chickens ! Would have liked access to a vacuum cleaner but no big deal.
- Sophia (10/5): Excellent! Clean, easily accessible, great location, reasonable price, perfect for a getaway from society. - Very peaceful, didn’t see the owners but was left amenities and key lock box was easy to find and access. Was a lovely size, perfect to come back to after a day of hiking. Easy to find, and in a great location, not many tourists so felt like a proper getaway. They even provide streaming services already set up on the tv. Great kitchen set up, they even provide an air fryer! Very clean throughout the property, and a well thought out layout to make the most of the space. Was booked last minute the night before, but had no problems with booking or arriving and ended up being a great find for a really good price! Have paid more for hotels which have more restrictions on what you’re able to do and when. Staying here gives you more freedom to do things as you please and aren’t constricted to a certain timetable. We only spent one night but will most definitely be returning for a longer stay in the near future!

- Simon (10/5): Amazing stay at millstone stables - Fantastic location and everything you could ask for and the owners were lovely we will definitely come back when the weather is a bit better stunning location Snow unfortunately nothing you can do about that
- Gareth (10/5): Exceptional - Literally everything was there that you think to could need plus a few amazing little touches like a welcome basket of treats and lovely Christmas decorations. - Foster (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic stay at Millstone Stables Cottage. Pictures dont do it justice as so much room! Great kitchen if you were doing your own food prep. Super cosy comfy bed and living room. Location was excellent for our walking trip and in close proximity to pubs, restaurants etc. We went for a meal in Chapel on Saturday night, and walked for breakfast in Chinley the Sunday morning. Joanna was super friendly, and really helpful with walking suggestions. Really fantastic stay! Nothing!
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional - lovely clean facilities. Very accommodating for our 2 dogs.
- Philip (10/5): The perfect place for a couple with a dog to stay and enjoy the Peak District. - We needed a dog friendly place for a visit to friends in Buxton, but got so much more, as it was not only perfect for that requirement, but also an incredibly peaceful, comfortable gem for exploring the beauty of the Peak District.
The cottage is on a quiet road with easy parking on site, and has a bedroom with a picture postcard view of the Peaks, cosy living room, well equipped kitchen and neat shower room.
A lot of thought has been given by the owners to ensuring that all the essentials are on hand, as well as lots of lovely touches like a welcome basket, milk in the fridge, dog bowls and blankets.
The location is excellent, with walks into the High Peaks literally a couple of feet from the front door, via a livestock free enclosed field, which is ideal if you need a quick stretch of the legs for a pooch.
There are excellent pubs nearby, and the sofas and bed ensured great relaxation and an amazing night’s sleep.
I honestly can’t think of a better place to stay as a couple with dogs. We’ve been to lots of booking.com places but this was a real find and we will be back.
Top marks.
