• Alex (10/5): Family vacation at Maleny - The location was peaceful and the amenities were very nice. We were able to cook for everyday and the beds were very comfortable. The decorations were very tasteful and there was a lot of light. In the bathroom, there wasn't enough space for the towels to dry. Furthermore, the insect covering for the windows were not fitted properly. The beds were not positioned well in the rooms as they were too close to the doors, making it very difficult to open the doors

• Sandra (8/5): beautiful house set in beautiful serene setting. very comfortable - there was no access to more clean towels. the barbecue needed to be lit by hand as the automatic lighter did not work. there needed to be a railing at the back steps leading into the laundry to assist elderly people to get up the few steps. tv was quite tricky to watch live tv
• Minsuk (10/5): A Hidden Gem in Maleny – Perfect for a Peaceful Family Getaway - his place truly felt like a hidden gem tucked away in the hills of Maleny. Check-in was seamless—detailed instructions were sent via email and Booking.com messages well in advance, so we had no trouble at all getting settled. Although it's located a short drive from Maleny’s town centre, the trade-off is well worth it. Right in front of the property is a beautiful viewpoint where you can enjoy the serenity of nature without any crowds. The house itself was spotless, well-organized, and equipped with everything we needed. Our kids especially loved the indoor fireplace, the swing in the yard, and the outdoor firepit. It added a cozy, adventurous touch to our stay. Just a tip: if you plan to use the firepit or fireplace, bring your own firewood ahead of time, as supplies may not always be readily available nearby. This was the perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing stay with family. We were able to slow down, enjoy the quiet, and spend quality time together in a truly beautiful setting. There are quite a few windows and doors throughout the house, so when we visited (in winter), it was a bit chilly inside. If you're staying during the colder months, be sure to pack some warm clothes or extra layers.

• Michael (10/5): Restful, restorative and singularly pleasant - loved it! - Spacious, clean and neat - a great place for five of us to hang out and also not get under each other's feet. A beautiful green garden surrounding a beautifully appointed home with lots of room and all the mod cons! Extra points for the espresso machine! The only downside and its almost churlish to write this is the slight angle of the entry to the car port was a bit tight for our SUV but that's on us for parking it there, we were able to fit the sedan in there as well very easily.

Our family had a great time reconnecting and forgetting about life for a little while The bedroom was a bit stuffy the first night, then I realised there was a pedestal fan in the cupboard… probably not the accommodation’s fault because it does clearly state that there’s fans in the cupboards when you read through the information pack

Fireplace was the most beautiful part of our stay, we centered our wines and conversations around the fire. Perfect spot for sunrises and an easy drive in and out of town.

• Benjie (8/5): It was really pleasant we enjoyed it it was clean and Jonathan was very helpful - The location and the facilities, it has a working coffee machine, overall cleanliness is good except for below. Coffee machine was not cleaned after previous tenants the coffee beans got hard. No wood was provided for the fireplace we brought our own. The septic tank overflowed while we were there, thankfully the stent did not get into the house only when we go out downstairs that we smell it.

The hood of stove didn't work, there were no instructions for coffee machine and the fire was hard to get going. Having to supply own wood was very disappointing for the price.

• Natasha (8/5): Will definitely come back, we had a lovely family getaway in this home. - Beautiful quiet street with lovely gardens. Comfortable beds and relaxing feel to the home. Outdoor table was too dirty to sit at, deck was in need of a big clean.
• Charlotte (5/5): The house was really outdated and musty. - The location of the house is good, close to shops in Maleny. The surrounding areas were pretty. The photos online look nothing like the property does in real life. It was very musty and smelly and didn't feel clean. They also had multiple bedrooms without proper blinds / curtains so you woke up at 4:30am with the sunrise. The bathrooms are not pictured online but are extremely old.

• Stephanie (9/5): Superb - Great location and property size. Very quiet and peaceful. Beds were super comfy! Kitchen was well stocked. Love the eco friendly bathroom and kitchen soaps and liquids. There were no matches or firelighters so getting the fire going at first was challenging. An earlier check in time would have been nice since check out was 10am. Or, extended check out to 11am would have been ideal.

Plenty of room to walk around or sit quietly on your own or a nice family size table to all relax and have a barbecue. Door was wide open when we got there. Anyone could have entered while unattended.

• Kerstin (10/5): Exceptional - We loved this holiday house! It was exactly as shown in the pictures, and very clean. The house sits on a large parcel of land, great for kids to run around. Nice, quiet location. Would definitely book here again!

We came here because we live in the city which is very much go go go all the time so to be able to stay here us very calm and relaxing for us, which is exactly what we needed. We loved the fireplace and our host Jonathan was nothing but prompt and very easy to communicate with. If you are looking for a little getaway Hinterland Family Getaway is the place to be.
