Guest Reviews
- Jehanne-Gabrielle (9/5): Calme, nature, repos - Super emplacement, calme absolu.
- Jamie (10/5): Perfect get away - Perfect get away
- Alex Stiles (9/5): Relaxing, cosy and comfortable - Great location - on the doorstep of beautiful countryside. We found the house to be cosy and comfortable, which fulfilled all our needs. Kitchen facilities were good, which meant we were able to cook at home. Nothing major.
- Ben (10/5): - Perfect cozy little cottage. Nothing really.
- Kirstie (9/5): - Super cosy cottage, the beds were extremely comfortable and there was a park just outside for my nephew which was perfect. The road was very narrow but we were always able to find a parking space

- Harry (9/5): - Lovely location, log fire was perfect and the beds were blissful. Won't hesitate to book again.
- Theresa (10/5): Thoroughly recommend - Beautiful location, very well equipped and extremely comfortable Parking was quite restricted, was able to park on the main road
- Emma (8/5): Loved it - Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Very comfortable and clean. Very friendly locals. Nothing
- Holly (9/5): A beautiful and tranquil cottage perfect for our needs and close by stunning walks in the Peak District. - Located on a quiet lane, with a gorgeous log burning stove and spacious bedrooms, this cottage was just perfect for the 4 of us.
- Kate (8/5): - Very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. It was fabulous to be able to access the Kinderscout range from the doorstep.
Clear directions and access instructions.
- Julie (9/5): Great stay, suitable for families, couples, friends - the cottage was a really lovely place to stay. - The cottage had a very homely feel with all the amenities to make a great stay. There was all the comforts of home, Everything that you could have needed was available. The area was quiet and in a good location for exploring the Peak District. There is a pub the Lantern Pike Inn just at the top of the lane which served good meals. Also went to The George in Hayfield which also served good food. Would definitely stay again.
- Dan (9/5): Great little cottage, the nearby pub was great - Great location, clean well equipped house
- Ben (10/5): Lovely cottage, great trip - Does what it says on the tin, beautiful country cottage!! The place is very well presented, clean tidy with everything you need for a comfortable and peaceful time away. The host was very helpful and there are some great local amenities (pubs) Great trip all round. N/A
- Emma (10/5): - Beautiful cottage, great location, nice and quiet
- Marshall (10/5): Lovely cosy cottage. Great location -
- Lucy (10/5): -
- Roger (10/5): - Beautiful cottage located in an amazing location. Walks right from the front door and great pub at the end of the road.
- sofia (8/5): Lovely cosy cottage in quiet, convenient location - Warm , quiet , comfortable and in a charming, authentic location. Lovely views - and friendly local pub up the lane, and a nice playground very close by. Walk direct to kinder and into the village of Hayfield. Really nice cottage with comfortable beds and a lovely wood burning stove The cold water tap in the bathroom drips and the plumbing makes a really loud noise at times (eg if someone showers )
- Michael (9/5): - Clare's cottage is a beautiful and very cosy retreat in a fantastic location. We really enjoyed our stay here. The loft bedroom is not really suitable for adults, especially ones who are over six feet tall, due to the restricted head height and short bed. I would advise this space to be used for children.
- Jay (10/5): -
- Paul (9/5): -
- Louisa (9/5): Great cottage - in stunning countryside - The cottage was well equipped and suited us perfectly. The beds were comfortable and I particularly loved the large selection of books in the single bedroom.
The shower was fabulous.
Sitting in the front garden in the sun was a great sun trap and very sheltered. There was nothing I didnt like but it is worth noting that the second double bedroom is accessed through the main bedroom and there is no door to it. Also the stairs are quite steep so may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility.
- Peter (10/5): Amazing cottage in a breathtaking setting. - Really cute, with everything we needed to be comfortable. It was clean and we settled in real fast. Just that we could not stay longer
- Christian (9/5): -
- Shaun (10/5): Great cottage beautifully presented - Beautiful quiet location in delightful cottage which was very well done out and in a great area. Communication was very good and all worked well.
- Nirvaan (9/5): Superb -
- Lyn (8/5): Thoroughly enjoyable experience in this clean, comfortable cottage. Host very helpful. Wonderful for small group. - Beautiful quiet location. Clean and comfortable cottage, excellent communication from host. Bedding very comfortable. Well equipped. I booked for 4 people, however only 3 of us could make it . If there had been 4 of us it would have been a bit cramped for space. Dining table ideally for just 3 , lounge seats would have been a squash . It worked well for this trip but would book something bigger if 4 adults .The parking was tricky but doable - need to park up against the wall. I parked at the bottom of the road which was easier.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely setting. Extremely comfy cozy place to stay. The log fire was amazing. Nothing
- Sofia (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (10/5): Just right. - Location excellent. Beds very comfy. Plenty of fuel for the fire. Toiletries provided. Kitchen very well stocked with washing products etc. peaceful. The big trunk/coffee table in the lounge was cumbersome and awkward with 4 adults in the room.
- Ann (8/5): Very good -
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely cottage with log fire. Great location within walking distance of Hayfield village and just round the corner from a lovely, friendly
pub.
- Jane (10/5): Had a lovely New Year stay - Lovely well equipped cottage. Very cosy
- Craig (9/5): Comfortable clean and homely. - Great location in a cute village
- Wendy (10/5): Great relaxing break in the Peaks! - Cottage was in beautiful location and extremely cosy & warm as it was snowing whilst we were there. Local walks & pub could be enjoyed and 3 miles from local town Glossop. The house was really well equipped and lovely comfortable beds.
- Ellis (8/5): Not at all disappointed - Fab location, quiet, cozy, decently equipped, great shower, good communication. The wood burner! Being really picky here, but perhaps a few more mugs and cutlery could help especially as using the dishwasher. Parking a little tight on the little road.
- Carrie (8/5): Perfect get away, very homely and quiet. - Great location, beautiful views and a lovely stroll away from Hayfield.
- Kristina (7/5): Lovely cottage in a great location. - Beautiful cottage, nice decor and generally well thought out layout. Unfortunately the bed was just too soft for me and caused me a bad back. That's just personal preference though, can't please everyone.
- Karen (10/5): Peaceful, scenic, charming cottage in a fantastic area for walking - Beautiful location. Quiet with lovely walks. A place to slow your pace of life down and recharge the battery. Log fire was a nice treat. GreT pub up the lane, made us feel very welcome
- Vicky (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was beautifully presented and the location was perfect for our stay I think there could do woth more seating in the lounge. There were 4 of us staying and one of us had to sit on a kitchen chair in the evenings.
- Bracini (9/5): Superb -
- Jay (10/5): Excellent property - Great host and place is amazing. There are ample walks in close distance and a pub just up the road. The cottage is exceptional and we will be returning next year.
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage in a great location for hiking, well appointed, friendly owner/proprietor.
- Samantha (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (5/5): If all the negatives were fixed this could be a lovely little place. - Pretty little cottage in a lovely
Location Lack of attention to detail. Fridge was dirty, mould in kitchen & bathroom. Thick black mould in shower & around the windows. Dishwasher was still full from previous guests (not all
Clean) meaning lack of crockery for us to use & after a long drive to the cottage (we came from Essex) there was only 1 cup & 1 mug available to use between 3 of us & no forks. A request from owner to leave rubbish in outside bins at the end of our stay was impossible as the bins were over flowing. Empty water bottle left on floor in lounge & little beads.
- Gillian (9/5): Beautiful cottage and location - Everything really The attic bedroom is accessed through the middle double bedroom, not a problem in our case as all were family
- Anne (9/5): Lovely cottage - Wonderful location. Lovely views. Very comfortable Parking . Needed to turn at the end of a no through lane.
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely cottage in a pretty location with outlooks over the fields. Had everything we needed. Only stayed for 3 nights but parked the car in the laneway and didn't get back in till we left. We walked everywhere - but we both like walking. There's even a pub with decent food at the top of the laneway and a bus stop, though we didn't use that. Clare the owner was quick to respond to our messages. There was nothing we didn't like. As is probably common at the end of winter in stone cottages there was a bit of mould on the corner of the shower recess but otherwise everything was spotless.
- Emilia (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage, Cosy, little place with all facilities needed, perfect for what we needed. We had no issue with parking. Round the corner from the village. Perfect for reaching other corners of Peak District. Great location and great price.
- Debbie (8/5): Very good -
- Lomond (9/5): Comfortable, warm and great location for town and walking. - What a lovely, quaint, comfortable and warm cottage. The location is perfect for local walks, Lantern Pike, and a short drive to Mam Tor, Edale and Castleford. Exactly what we were looking for. We use the Peak District as a meeting place for our Manchester Uni kids and Glossop train station is 10 minutes away. Dog friendly, good kitchen and even the pillows were perfect! Highly recommended. We will be back!
