- Benoît (10/5): - Grande chambre
Emplacement magnifique
Très bon dîner
- PATRICIA (7/5): - Lieu -
- Anthony (6/5): Nice hotel but not great - Room was good Had to check in at the bar as no reception, shower in room not great
- Rene (9/5): A wonderfully warm stay made special by the cheerful team who clearly love what they do - Beautifully located with a breathtaking view, we were warmly welcomed by a group of young people running the bar and restaurant. Our room was small but lovely, equipped with everything we needed and even stocked with a generous selection of drinks and treats. The food was excellent, and what made the place truly charming were the two young women who clearly enjoyed what they were doing. The next morning was no different: a cheerful gentleman served breakfast all by himself, and he obviously took great pleasure in it. In short, it doesn’t take much to make guests feel at home when the people working there genuinely enjoy their job.
- james (10/5): - Attached Jam Jar restaurant was excellent!
- Alan (10/5): A happy, nostalgic night on the west coast. - We are very familiar with this area through family holidays in the nineties and noughties and while we've used the bar and restaurant in the past we've never stayed in the hotel until now. Service throughout was warm and welcoming and the one or two small requests we had were quickly dealt with. The room was warm, comfortable, equipped with a lovely big bath. There was also a nice view of Loch Ewe and the road down towards Gairloch. We had dinner and breakfast which were very tasty and the menu suited both me, an omnivore, and my pescatarian wife. Like many who know this lovely hotel and its history we look forward to the day when the full renovation plan is completed.
- Raymond (5/5): - They try hard and deserve to succeed
- Jessie (8/5): Ein schönes Stück Schottland - Sehr schönes Zimmer mit toller Aussicht auf das Meer. Prima Abendessen und mega Frühstück. Super freundliches Personal. Vielen Dank für den Service!

- Bob (10/5): Zeer goed - Te laat aangekomen maar zonder enig probleem nog warm eten gehad, personeel zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam
- Smith (10/5): - Loved everything about it, especially the bar meal. Staff were friendly and helpful. NA8
- Vicsta (9/5): - The stunning scenery The main hotel bar was cold compared to the dining room.
- Marilyn (10/5): A lovely setting and very welcoming staff. - The views from Room 4 were spectacular and the bed was very comfortable. The food exceeded our expectations.
- Neale (9/5): Great place to stay - Friendly staff, nicely appointed room with wonderful views over the Loch. Great food with good atmosphere in the bar
Highly recommended
- Keith (6/5): Idyllic location, stylish but small room. Not really a hotel at present, more a pub with rooms. - Idyllic location next to loch shore. Stylish and well appointed room. Good bed and shower. Excellent breakfast service. Room small with no chair or desk, only the bed, failing to meet the description of ‘King Room’. Bathroom very cramped. Only public room is a somewhat raucous bar, serving as Reception and for meals. Our evening meal was spoiled by us being allocated a table 2m from the bar counter by a rude and inconsiderate waitress. Not good value for us.
- Stella and Steve (8/5): Lovely rooms in beautiful location. Excellent dinner. - Lovely location. Very nice room. We had dinner in the restaurant and the fish was fresh and very well cooked. Entering through the pub/restaurant and then through a door by the pool table and customers.
- Kate (7/5): Could be great with some changes - The room was really good and the food we had was exceptional. First impressions were terrible, entering through the bar and with quite a lot of sweary blokes who we had to navigate through. Dinner served in the same atmosphere. I'd really suggest that the 2 things are completely separated. Would have been happy to discuss this face to face but only visible contact was the girls working on the bar and serving dinner, which they did very well.
- Tracey (10/5): Lovely stay would stay again and recommend - Staff really friendly and helpful
Room was lovely had a sea view
Food was excellent
We sat outside and had our dinner Nothing
- Edwin (9/5): Enjoyable stay - Room was very nice and good tea and coffee facilities. Evening Meal and breakfast was excellent. The bathroom was very small and felt a bit cramped
- Johnson (7/5): Nice view but way over priced - Sea view room has beautiful view and room size is big
Room is clean and tidy Way over priced even without breakfast
Garden facing room is a bit small, and the view is nothing special
- Lynda (10/5): -
- Simon (8/5): Brilliant stay and a superb stop on NC500 if you like comfort and good food. - Location and the Delux Standard with Sea View room were 10/10.
Staff were friendly, high energy and very attentive.
As for the food, absolutely awesome 10/10 It was a shame the first impressions let it down a little with the hotel under renovation, so the main hotel enterance wasn't open. Also the beer garden needs a little work, as it felt you were in the car park.
- Kim (10/5): Would highly recommend - The staff and owners were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was fabulous, all fresh and a lovely menu. Would highly recommend this hotel in it's superb location
- Kathleen (10/5): A gem to be treasured on the stunning west coast. - Love this hotel. The room was spacious; the views superb. The food is excellent and of a high standard: real butter, excellent smoked salmon, creative cooking, great coffee beans, brilliant staff who clearly love their work. Particular credit to Matthew the housekeeper who is a perfectionist! He has bags of personality, takes a genuine interest in people, serves a great breakfast and is very efficient and so likeable. Nothing.
- Ann (8/5): - Staff and location
- Spittles (8/5): The hotel room was amazing. Very spacious with a great view of the bay. The bathroom was incredible. - We had no meals and the bar/reception area was not very good. The bar and restaurant area.
- Gillian (9/5): - Great location…. Friendly staff.
Recently renovated …. Clean and fresh.
- Lara (10/5): Perfect family owned guesthouse hotel with great food and comfortable beds - Everything. The location is stunning, huge safe car park, which was important for our group. The rooms were comfortable, well maintained and decorated, the owners so lovely and friendly. Great bar staff and the food absolutely excellent. A real family owned friendly guest house/hotel & restaurant/bar with friendly locals. Nothing. Everything was brilliant. Perfect hosts. Can’t wait to go again on our next highland road trip.
- Bronwyn (10/5): -

- John (10/5): A truly relaxing and magical stay in a stunning part of Scotland - Absolutely loved this hotel! The views from the spacious and comfortable bedroom were simply stunning. Comfy large bed, soft white towels, a jacuzzi bath, Scottish biscuits and pretzels.
The food choices in the bar for an evening meal were a great surprise: well cooked tasty meals - not deep fried options which are so often all that’s on offer.
We wish the owners all the very best as they continue to grow this fabulous business with great staff to support them.
Forgot to add that they also serve delicious coffee and real butter ( not the Lurpak con of butter blended with harmful rapeseed oil) Nothing - it’s perfect
- Joanne (8/5): Would stay again. - Super friendly staff. Lovely room. Excellent food. Slightly chilly, but we were out of season.
- Ian (5/5): Same menu all three nights and ran out of items! - Nice room with a view It is supposed to be a Hotel. No restaurant, eat in the noisy bar and no residents lounge.
- Hallfríður Sólveig (10/5): - Wonderful stay. Staff were very warm and friendly. We had a nice family dinner at their restaurant as well. Rooms had everything one might need, were spacious, and beds and linen were very comfy.
- Mandy (10/5): Excellent stay, Excellent food - Everything - this may not look much from the outside but it was excellent. Room was fabulous really large triple aspect overlooking the water.
We had dinner in the bar which was excellent and so was the breakfast.
- Philip (8/5): A good hotel for the NC500 or travelling the NW coast of Scotland. good car parking. - This hotel is under new management/ownership after having been closed for a number of years. I enjoyed a good nights sleep and being fairly remote I had my evening meal there as well. Staff were helpful.
- Annabel (10/5): - Beautiful room, warm , spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with huge bath
- Mercy (10/5): -
- Lindsey (10/5): Just what we were looking for. - Beautifully decorated room, super comfortable bed and lovely cotton sheets. Fabulous view of the sea to wake up to. Lovely friendly waiter and the Manager waited up for us as we arrived very late. It will be even better when they finish the new restaurant and lounge. We will be back! The bathroom was a little bit of a squeeze.

- adeline (10/5): Brilliant Break to be pampered and chill out 😊 - Absolutely Perfect Peaceful Picturesque Position and it was a pleasure for us to visit at this fairly quiet time.
The snow added to the views.
The room was fantastic and great value for money.
Bed was super cosy and comfortable.
Jacuzzi bath was an excellent bonus!
The food was excellent on our two evening and full breakfast too.
Staff were just exceptionally and perfect hosts. We had nothing to dislike about this hotel or staff.
- Ian (10/5): Fantastic. - Beautiful room. Friendly bar. Good food.
- Brian (8/5): Richardson's opinion - Location is everything beautiful brilliant staff and locals and chilled out atmosphere The room was a tad small the breakfast was not value for the money far too small. Also not enough options my wife only had beans on toast and was charged the same as a full breakfast not happy
- Duncan (8/5): Fine small hotel with friendly staff. - Improvements underway are to a highest standard.
Should be first class when completed. Weather

- Robert (8/5): Good hotel, comfortable with friendly staff - Could do with more of a choice for breakfast Heating could have been on longer
- Ron (9/5): Heerlijk verblijf! - Zeer vriendelijk eigenaar! Niets
- Shannon (10/5): The Aultbea is a wonderful hotel situated in an idyllic location with the sea in front and mountains - The breakfast was actually more than enough for one person to eat. The hotel uses fresh local produce.
The evening meals that we had were perfectly cooked as we asked for and well presented.
The staff were consistently friendly and helpful with great local knowledge of local craft businesses and interesting places to see and visit.
The accommodation side of the hotel looks and feels homely and scrupulously clean and fresh. In honesty, our stay was too short, we will visit again but for longer.
- Luca (10/5): -
- Lynnette (10/5): -
- Jamie (10/5): - Beautiful location overlooking the water. Rooms done to a very good standard and good size. Great breakfast. But the best bit was the staff. All super friendly and helpful and made our stay all the more enjoyable!
- Lara (9/5): -
- Angels 68 (8/5): A good place to stay - The room was beautifully decorated, as was the hotel side of the accommodation, and the bed was very comfortable. There were good-quality tea and coffee facilities in the room, and the curtains were of a high standard — clearly showing that the owners are aiming for a high-quality hotel experience.
It would have been a 9 if we could have had pizza and a 10 if the water had been hot. These are minor points, but hopefully helpful feedback for the hotel rather than criticism.
It was a lovely personal touch to receive a phone call from the owner about 25 minutes after we had left to check that we’d enjoyed our stay — we have to admit, we thought we’d left something behind at first! We asked for room service or if we could take a couple of pizzas back to our room, but unfortunately, we were told no. We didn’t want to sit in the bar as it was quite noisy, which was a shame — it would have been nice if that could have been accommodated. The hot water was only warm, which was a little disappointing, and we had to run the tap for quite a while before it reached that temperature.
- Andrew (9/5): - Good looking location, great views, pub and restaurant on side too
- Rebecca (9/5): -
- Oliver (10/5): Absolutely fantastic - Fantastic location and there was a really lovely vibe to the place. All the staff made me feel like they wanted me to have great time. The food was lovely, especially the breakfast which was probably the best one I have ever had in a hotel. The bed very comfortable as well. No negatives at all
- Thomas (10/5): - Nicely appointed room, comfortable bed and great little restaurant downstairs. We had a wonderful dinner and were happy to have only a flight of stairs until we reached our bed.
- Aujla (9/5): More of the chic than shabby, great attention to detail and pure quality with amazing loch view - Although I was a little judgemental on the exterior of the building it was cosy and perfect clean and charming inside. The small details in the bedroom, such a good quality brands for the coffee, tea and wee snacks. The pride in the finishings, was obvious. This really is a hidden gem, and hits the shabby chic vibe that any understated traveler who still appreciates quality home comforts ( with a spectacular view). The staff were so friendly, thoughtful and full of character and charm. Would love to come back. Nothing it was perfect for as a stop off for our NC500 Trip in autumn 🍁
- Susan (8/5): Very comfortable stay in a great location - Stunning location, high standard of decor in bedroom, lovely sheets and charming waiter at breakfast.Breakfast was the best of our trip! Nothing

The restaurant/bar downstairs is lively in the evening with locals and guests which was fun. Great staff!!! Good breakfast. Loved the location, right on the loch. Towel heater and room heater were inop. Husband thought shower was too small, however. No extra blankets available.
- Jeanette (5/5): - Værelset fint renoveret og udsigten fantastisk. Venlig betjening. Pubben i stueetagen benyttes som ‘opholdsstue’. Maden er jævn og alt for dyr. Hotellet ligger i øde egn. Vælg hellere hotel i fx Gairloch hvis muligt.

- Chris (9/5): Fine hotel not far from Gairloch - Good location Bit expensive, breakfast was an extra 15gbp per person on top, so we skipped it.
- Sally (8/5): A good place to stay! - Great setting on side of water. They are refurbishing and it has been done out very well with lots of character. Even had lovely candles burning in public areas. Great atmosphere in the bar, lively music, friendly staff and good food. Room was decorated nicely but was very small.
