Guest Reviews
- Catriona (10/5): We absolutely LOVED staying at Leirsinn Mhor in the idyllic location of Killin đ - We absolutely loved this gorgeous home- so cosy, welcoming, beautifully decorated and spacious for our group of 14 plus 2 dogs! Jan has created such a special place for guests to enjoy together- multiple indoor areas to relax in ( including a stunning sunroom with doors opening out on to the private walled garden); cosy bedrooms each with an en suite and the kitchen/dining area is perfect for group cooking/dining together. We felt so at home and would love to return for another gathering in the future đ Everything was perfect and Jan was such a generous, communicative host. Wouldnât change a thing đ€©
- Nicole (10/5): - Wow, what can I say. This was one of the most beautiful house's I have stayed in! 7 bedroom all en-suite, with a toilet on the ground floor too near the kitchen.
We were a group of family and friends made up 12. The house was very accessible for my mum. She can walk short distances but cannot climb a flight of steps, therefore the one double bedroom on the ground floor was perfect for her. I could wheel her easily through the foyer to the kitchen area and she would walk down 2 or 3 steps to the main kitchen, into the conservatory. The owner was very helpful regarding this and prior to our stay sent a wee video of the layout of the ground floor, which was such a lovely thing for her to do.
The was plenty of crockery, utensils that just thought of everything (even if you wanted to bake a cake).
Outside area was lovely. We had the best weekend for the weather, so having the bifold sliding doors open was a delight.
If you did happen to bring dogs. The garden area is enclosed.
Plenty of car parking spaces at the side of the house.
Rooms where all stunning and clean. Definitely unique decor, and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the mountain views..
I will definitely be back. And the owner was wonderful with excellent communication. Thank you for this wonderful trip in a beautiful home from home. Nil.
- Harley (10/5): Fantastic - Well appointed beautiful, spacious home full of character! Everything we needed catered for! Just a short walk into main street in Killin so essily accessible for restaurants/town facilities. N/A
- Craig (10/5): Perfect for a large group of friends wanting to have a great base to explore central Scotland - Everything Nothing
- Ewelina (10/5): Absolutely amazing holiday house - The property is located on a quiet, charming, and peaceful village.Which meant we enjoyed total peace and quiet on our daily walks. The views from
âInside, the house was spotlessly clean, beautifully styled, and incredibly comfortable.
The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed, and the rooms were incredible, especially Master bedroom. The host was prompt, friendly, and provided all the information required for an amazing stay.
âWe highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area. The comfort and tranquillity of the house made this one of our most memorable trips.
- stuart (9/5): Excellent home! Spacious, stylishly decorated whilst still feeling homely. Would definitely rebook. -

- Arantzazu (10/5): -
- Allison (10/5): Excellent family holiday, there was 12 of us but it never felt squashed in at all. Weather was mixed but thatâs Scotland - Lovely spacious rooms & great garden for letting the dogs play in a safe environment
- Robert (10/5): Fantastic house, and would definitely stay again - the facilties and a well stocked kitchen made it easier to spend the entire time within the house, we spent a lot of time eating in the property. As a party of 13 we felt that there was so much space that we didn't feel we were on top of each other. we found some items left by previous guests under a few of the beds, nothing major but a little more detail to cleaning would sort that out.
- Kirsten (10/5): We had a wonderful stay at Leirsinn Mhor. The house exceeded our expectations and weâd love to stay again. - Everything!
Spacious, comfortable, well equipped, close to amenities, lovingly decorated! Nothing
- Carolynne (10/5): We had a wonderful stay in the most beautiful & welcoming house. - The beautiful central location ideal for exploring the Trossachs There was nothing to dislike
- Stuart (10/5): -
- Laura (9/5): Superb - The kitchen and conservatory area was a great family area and had everything you could need. The beds were comfortable and Jan the host was very helpful. A beautiful property that gave us lovely memories for my husbands special birthday! That we had to leave :(
- Anna (8/5): Great house for family break. - House is perfectly positioned on the edge of Killin, everything is within walking distance. Very spacious and although there were 12 of us we all had space to do our own thing and be in different spaces if we wanted. The facilities were great,.all bedrooms have en-suite, there is a small toilet off the kitchen/utility which wasn't shown on floor plan but saved walking up stairs. All bedrooms generous size although en-suite can be a bit small. However the master bedroom was huge, with lovely high ceilings duel aspect views and a huge bed, plenty storage if staying for longer and the en-suite is lovely and spacious but beware of low ceiling and steps down!
The garden room and garden were my favorite spot. Our 2 dogs had a ball in the garden which was safe and a very good size.
Overall we had a fantastic break and would love to return in the future.đ We didn't dislike anything, only thing we had to watch was the different floor levels and steps especially in kitchen area. But we got used to them by day 3.
- Leia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lindsey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charwylie (9/5): Group celebration at Leirsinn Mhor - We visited as a large group of friends for the weekend, and Leirsinn Mhor completely exceeded our expectations.
The house is huge, with lots of spaces which was ideal for a large group - lovely living room, kitchen diner (which easily sat 10 of us at the table), a modern extension, and each bedroom had an ensuite!
The hosts gave us all the information we needed and were very quick to help us adjust the heating when asked.
The house was lovely and very well equipped. We would definitely return in future!
- Philip (10/5): A special place that felt like home - The Propert was amazing , huge and beautifully decorated. All bedrooms with en-suite . We especially liked the large kitchen and conservatory . Master Bedroom was stunning. Canât think of anything
- Mccartney (9/5): We were a party of thirteen celebrating a Golden Wedding. The location of the property in Killin is excellent. The prope - The location was excellent, there were many fine features in the property. Lovely views. Plenty of parking. Excellent outdoor areas. There were issues in the property that could be resolved with regular maintenance. Cleanliness of the property could be improved.
- Neil (9/5): Great long weekend with family in a lovely location - Lots of room for 3 generation family gathering. Great out doors space for games and bbq. Well equipped kitchen. Plenty pff road parking. Close to towns bar restaurant and supermarket. Great walks
- Maria (10/5): Amazing house and host. We had such a lovely stay - Everything was amazing Nothing but I would suggest to put shampoo and body wash in the bathrooms and more toilet paper as we stayed 3 days and just one toilet paper or 2 per room is not enough
- Ayyappan (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent characteristic accommodation. Thoroughly enjoyed with 3 family group members.
- Jessica (9/5): Excellent area in which to holiday with site within walking distance of the house. - Outstanding weather for early April which was a bonus. Comfortable large house, quite stylish in parts but a little uneven in design, finish and furnishing. Perfect size for our party. Lovely garden and garden room plus spacious kitchen made it perfect for our group. There is no bath which is a drawback if children in the group. Just one room has twin beds. Would return for another stay.
- Kenny (10/5): Fantastic, memory building weekends away. - The house was just perfect. Kitchen well kitted out for anything you needed. Summer room was just perfect and even managed a BBQ in March! Properly within walking distance to Killin shops, restaurants etc so couldnât have asked for better. We will definitely be back. No complaints from me.
- Jenni (10/5): Fantastic long weekend for a special birthday with family. Will definitely return - Amazing house with great facilities. Lots of space, lovely decor and very well equipped. Perfect for a family trip. Location is also perfect Only negative was low shower pressure in a couple of the en suites but apart from that it was perfect
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - When we arrived, I thought WOW! What an amazing house!! The location was perfect and just a short walk into the main street, Falls of Dochart, shops, pubs, etc. It is fabulous, has so much space, and is so well equipped. It had everything you would need, all the little extras that you normally have to take or buy when you get there. Nothing .....it was Fab!
- Margaret (10/5): Can I score them 12/10? - Exceptional place to stay - Weâve all seen the exaggerated estate agent/hotel photographs that promise a palace but deliver a bed-sit. Leirsinn Mhor is the reverse. The photos on the internet do not do it justice. It is absolutely FAB-U-LOUS as one TV judge would say.
Our whole family was blown away by the place. It truly is a home-from-home with every little detail taken care of. The décor is fantastic, what a designer eye they have. The size and layout of the communal rooms excellent.
To describe it as a home-from-home does not do it justice. Itâs as if you dropped in on a friend who has just stepped out for a minute.
The kitchen with the island layout is perfect. Several people can chop, wash, fry, etc while not being in each otherâs way. It made the designated chefs feel part of the party not left to get on with it. There are plenty of dishes, glasses, pans, utensils and thoughtfully a drawer full of herbs, seasonings, teabags and sundries that are a great help.
Huge fridge/freezer in pantry helped maximise storage. Also, lots of room to leave coats, shoes, etc.
The bedrooms are all stunning. The communal areas large and luxurious. Games, books (of different genres), LPâs (on a real turntable), there is something to discover in every room. Donât forget to look through the stunning album of photos showing the restoration and rebuilding work that has gone into make Leirsinn Mhor the wonderful venue it is today.
The house is located very close to the town centre, only a few minutesâ walk, and all the shops we visited were friendly and helpful â to the point we all commented on it! Everyone is very friendly and made us feel so welcome even as one-of visitors. Shutters coffee shop/cafĂ© got particularly high praise. The local park, 3 minutes away, was excellent with the kids enjoying swings, zip-wire, see-saw, football pitches, etc. There is also a bicycle tool station too !
