Guest Reviews
- Kathleen (10/5): Superd location and home 🏡 - Omg, it was amazing the caravan was like a real house, excellent location, right under the lighthouse, that lit up in different colours, and the beach is only a few feet away.
The caravan had two bathrooms , 2 bedrooms, a real kitchen, big living room and was worth every penny.
The beach was a clean wide open space, with no people just amazing for our dogs ❤️ loved every bit of our stay . Thank you again . There was norhing not to like, just be aware it's a light tan carpet if you have pets , but not a big deal .

- Brenda (8/5): Cosy. Fab location. Good value for money - Facilities good. Comfortable beds. Well set up Would have liked a balcony
- Melissa (7/5): - Code to key box was easy to find.
- Fergus (8/5): Would stay here again, perfect location. - The location is absolutely perfect. The caravan had the perfect view of the lighthouse. We also timed our visit with the flying at the RAF base so could stand outside our caravan and see/hear the jets. The hosts also decorated with anniversary banners and gifted us a bottle of bubbly and a balloon! How cute. One tiny bin. Everything was superb except we wish there was another bin, especially in at least one of the bathrooms. Also the caravan does get a bit shaky if there’s high winds, but that’s something you can’t predict!

- Joanna (7/5): Great couple of days away, accommodation was clean and comfortable and great location on the campsite. - The campsite is on a great location. The van was located close to the walk up to the lighthouse with easy access to the beach. The van was spacious and clean. It was close to the clubhouse and we felt safe when the 10 yr old with us wanted to play football whilst we went back to the van. The price was reasonable and this reflected in the van I would have been more disappointed if I’d paid more. I was disappointed with the outside space seats provided were shabby & could do with being replaced. No specific area to sit so sat next to the car. Other vans nearby looked better because of outside decking area. No where for dog to be without being tied up.
The cooker’s seal around the oven door wasn’t working so food took an age to cook which put us off using it again.
- Martina (8/5): - Smelo in smell in small room
- Tania (7/5): overall lovely stay - great location, nice and clean and essentials catered for oven door doesn’t shut properly making cooking tricky, decking would be great. Single beds not that comfortable.
- Derek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Great position near to the beach, nice inside When I originally booked I thought I saw decking outside but was disappointed we could not sit outside like the other caravans around us, but probably my mistake I possibly got images muddled up.
- Maureen (10/5): Comfy and relaxing - Property was spacious and clean and fully equipped with everything you would need. Comfortable seats in lounge cony bed very impressed with everything. No complaints at all
- Julie (10/5): We had a great family stay. Everything we needed was supplied. - Great location for beach No decking
- Mick (10/5): Christmas break - It was really well equipped and in an excellent location.
- Katie (7/5): Good - Lovely location. Convenient for our needs. Wish we had been informed of the possibility of frozen pipes ,as we were without running water for 3 days.
Understand that the extreme temperatures were beyond anyone's control, but as we were informed that this is a regular occurrence in Winter,it would have been nice to know prior to our visit.
- Michael (8/5): Basic but cozy caravan, it was clean and the just did go the extra mile and left complimentary fizz - Caravan was basic with no decking etc but we knew that, December/January probably not an issue.
Location was fab, very short walk to the beach which the kids loved. Short drive to Lossiemouth itself
Caravan was clean, cozy and definitely value for money.
Linen etc was provided which was clean and kitchen had more than enough equipment. Tv remote did not work (prob just batteries) I managed to download an app on to my phone to work smart tv.
- Lalley (8/5): Ideal base for exploring the area - Beautiful location beside great beach Double bed mattress incredibly uncomfortable.Quilt perhaps too lightweight for December-woke up freezing during the night and had to add quilts from other room to the bed.
- Lorna (10/5): Exceptional - Great caravan , clean , extras supplied which helps on the packing space . Great that it was pet friendly too Bed a little too springy for us but still slept well .
- Sharon (7/5): Location was amazing - The location was amazing The caravan wasn't clean in parts. The top of the oven was missing. The bed was very poor quality, the springs of the bed affected our sleep.
- Chris (10/5): Lovely relaxing place - The caravan was lovely everything you needed The double bed wasn't very comfy
- Stephen (10/5): We loved it! Didn’t pay for park tickets as we had plans outwith it ,perfect location! - Right in view of lighthouse!! It was perfect
- Mary (9/5): Superb -
- Katie (9/5): Superb - Exceptionally clean.
Ideal location. Difficult to lock the door.
- Mark (7/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. - Perfect location to get to the beach and the Wi-Fi was good. It would have been nice to have had the benefit of some decking around the caravan - but appreciate space was limited.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (8/5): Very good -
- Duncan (9/5): Couldn’t have been better. - Good quality and great position Nothing
- Caitlin (9/5): Brilliant place! Will be returning and passing onto family about my stay. Thank you so much we loved it! - It’s near the beach and an area of my dogs to be able to go to the toilet.
It’s in a great destination and I will definitely be returning for the 3rd time. There isn’t a balcony to allow my dogs out for a bit of fresh air.
- Owen (10/5): Exceptional - Have visited the site on 2 previous occasions. This was our best experience of the accommodation Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Great value - Everything was fine Nothing
- Lana (9/5): Fantastic family stay and very well equipped caravan extremely helpful host and beautiful views -
- Denise (10/5): Perfect for us, just what we were looking for - Beautiful. Clean. Had everything we needed. NA
- Les (1/5): Never using booking.com again. This is the 3rd time we’ve been misled - Absolutely nothing It was described by you as a 2 bed apartment with own entrance. It was a caravan The gas ran out on second day and so no hot water to shower in. Today to switch an electric heater on until it was sorted
- Karen (7/5): Good - This is a lovely location with a 2 minute walk to the beach. Dog friendly indoor option at the lounge
- John (9/5): stay was very good - Lounge seating & bed could have been a bit more comfortable.
- Tani (7/5): Good - Bed were not comfy
- Jodie (9/5): Superb -
- Margaret (5/5): Passable - Location was close to our sporting event Having to pay extra to eat at restaurant of drink in the bar.
Rubbish bin was dirty. Shower difficult to turn off and dripped all the time.
Only providing code at time of check. We are from O/s and had to find wifi to access th e code to get in to the caravan.

- Anonymous (6/5): Could be better….. - The location was fantastic - it was far enough away from the entertainment that you didn’t hear anything and just a couple of minutes walk to the beach. The lighthouse view was certainly an added bonus.
Would definitely say there was enough kitchen utensils, plates, cups, glasses etc for your stay. Hand wash and toilet roll is also provided in each toilet.
Good size TV and wifi was excellent To be perfectly honest the cleanliness was not up to the standard I would expect. The shower was dirty (gunk on sliding door), the mater bed sheets had a stain, the carpets had marks and the shelves which are on display were all dusty…and to top it all off we had empty wine bottles and rubbish from the previous stay!! No bin liners were provided, which I always thought was a standard thing to have.
The master bed for us was extremely uncomfortable I’m afraid and gave us a soar back. I do think this needs replaced as you could feel the springs.
We usually book a caravan with decking and pay the same price - i must admit not even having a small decking area makes such a big difference, especially in the summer!
- Mary (7/5): Three generations enjoyed the caravan holiday at Covesea. - N/A N/A
Caravan was nice. Kitchen well kitted out. Oven door was not flush when closed making cooking difficult. No bedding/pillows for sofa bed.and both the sofa bed and king bed not very comfy.
- William (8/5): Very good - Location, nice caravan Weather!
- Jemma (4/5): very basic - great location to get a view of the lighthouse and close to access to beach. very basic, no terrace, no decking so could not sit out in the mornings/evenings to enjoy its great location at the lighthouse. The caravan had a damp dog smell and the cleaning wasn’t great (huge amount of dust on top of oven fan) there was no bin liners or basic dishes cleaning items, 1 toilet roll provided and no little toiletries. my friend had a much bigger, cleaner and more facilities caravan and paid less than I did so I think the price per night for what it is is far too high.
there was no hot water for the first 24hours until maintenance came round and switched on the boiler, the host did answer my calls and I got the sense they were trying hard to get me help but I think they need to make sure they are getting good value for money with the folks that maintain the caravan for them…I appreciated a refund for one night given the inconvenience.
- Marika (10/5): We all had great time ,thank you.x - Everything.x Can't think of anything all was great.
- Christine (9/5): A very clean and comfortable home from home - The caravan is in the perfect position on site close to the beach, lighthouse, caves, entertainment block, swimming pool and laundrette. The caravan was very comfortable and immaculately clean in all areas. Loved the powerful large shower and ample cupboard/wardrobe space. Picnic chairs were provided for sitting outside, also a welcome pack with information for a variety of things to do and see. A home from home. Also pet friendly.
Silver Sands is a beautiful, clean and well maintained site. The swimming pool, recreation area, restaurant, carry out, outdoor seating areas, laundrette and shower blocks have all been recently refurbished. Personally I would have preferred to have outdoor decking and an enclosed seating area since we had a dog with us. However the picnic chairs were very comfortable when we sat at the side of the caravan.
- Robin (10/5): Fantastic stay at Lyons Retreat - What an absolute delight to stay at the Lyons Retreat.
It had everything we could have asked for.
Dog friendly, really well equipped caravan, stunning location, plenty of room, really clean and comfortable.
I really hope we can stay there again sometime. Absolutely nothing.
- Romy (10/5): Exceptional - Caravan was spotless and homely Nothing
