Guest Reviews
- Philip (6/5): It was good for what we paid for - The property was OK for what we paid for it. Bedding was fresh and clean and the beds were comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed and bathroom was OK. The stairs up to the bedrooms are very steep and with the bathroom being at the back of the house, the late night toilet trip was an adventure. It would not be suitable for someone who isnt steady on their feet. There were light bulbs not working which was awkward at times, considering one of them was in a bedroom. There was an issue with the parking permit as it was not in the property. Thankfully we didnt need it as we weren't in the property during the day so the car was not parked on the street during the day. The owner was informed and at first was replying quickly but they went quiet and we didn't hear from them to resolve it.
- Zoe (1/5): - Bed sheets smelt clean which gave me piece of mind Parking is risky, neighbours are druggies, pics obvs before they ever let it out. Couldn't swing a 1cat in the living area or kitchen. 1 bathroom which is downstairs at the back of the house for a 4 bed house is not great. Hardly any apperatus so take your own. Table for 2, sofas have deffo seen better days and the cushions are done in for. Half the lights don't work. When I messaged they said oh that's strange not heard that before, I didn't buy it.
- Jane (5/5): Has potential but needs work. - • Had a call from the host on the day to ensure we had all the info we needed for our stay.
• Welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, sugar & waters was lovely.
• Kitchen well equipped, though other than the kettle, cups, bowls, cutlery and fridge we didn't require it for our trip this time.
• Bedding was clean and clean towels were on the side if we'd forgotten our own.
• Parking is FREE & if you're lucky, outside on the street.
• Nice pub attached to a Premier Inn a short drive away.
• Not far from Alton Towers enabling us to arrive for opening.
• Property has great potential. • Unpleasant drain smell greeted us and just would not ease up.
• Mould in bathroom around loo and an old cigarette butt.
• Bed frames need replacing or atleast re-tightening in the meantime.
• Mattresses are all lumpy and very uncomfortable, all 4 need replacing. And why are the beds so small in these places?
• Heating is hive controlled by host and switches off early so you'll need to shower early and wear warm PJs.
• Smoke alarms are mostly coverless and there is NO carbon monoxide alarm. Not sure that's legal.
• Upstairs landing floor needs addressing, something is going on under that carpet.
• Parking is hit & miss with finding a spot depending on how neighbours park.
• Walls thin / neighbours loud, not sure which but had to turn TV up to cover their noise.
• Had to clean the sofas, chairs and handrail down before use.

- Danielle (4/5): Rude awakening on check out day - The location The host came at 9am on day of check out banging on the front door asking why we hadn't left yet check out was 11am, when I explained this she agreed with me but told me 'most people leave before now on check out day' I politely explained we would be out by 11am. She then returned at 10.45 banging on the door and when I opened it she exclaimed check out time now.
Check out instructions were lock the front door and leave the key in the lock box no where did it say I'd be shouted at and have a man and a woman take the keys from me and push into the property at check out.
Property also lacked sufficient cutlery
Yard is not a yard it's a 3ft by 5ft concrete space with a can full of cigarette ends on the windowsill smokers may appreciate this as a non smoker that wanted the space for children as it says in the listing we were disappointed
- M Adnan (9/5): - Very clean property.
- Nicholas (8/5): -
- Stelian (10/5): -
- Sarah (6/5): Fit for purpose - It was very clean and the host had fantastic communication.
There were all the amenities required and it was lovely and warm. It does need updating as a few things inside are damaged and the cistern is causing a smell. Not bad with the door shut.
The parking gets full so we had to find elsewhere for one evening.
It is a loud street with music and cars going by late into the night. There was unfortunately fighting outside during our stay. The police came out and we informed the host, who was apologetic.
It must be recognised the last point is uncontrollable for the host and is just for awareness.
- Louise (1/5): -
- Christopher (5/5): Only good for bigger groups - Felt very authentic, situated at a good location. Near to Hanley and Stoke On-Trent station The beds were all uncomfortable. If you are really on a tight budget, then it's not a bad option. If it's like 40 euro per person.
- Charlotte (7/5): -
- Carrie (9/5): Clean and comfortable stay. - Clean and comfortable stay.
Very warm, cosy house.
Heated up very quickly.
Very well equipped.
Tv in the sitting room. (Could be bigger/modernised)
Seperate dining table. Bathroom window wouldn’t close/lock fully.
Stairs are very steep so our oldest guest stayed on the ground floor - no issue for us but maybe note for future guests.
Metal Beds can be quite noisey when turning over.
- Lisa (6/5): - Spacious Location, no frills property.
- Louise (8/5): -
- Phillips (5/5): Okay for price we paid - We stayed as a family of 6 for two days whilst visiting Alton Towers. It was 30 minutes away so location was great. Liked the parking permits, although finding a spot to park proved difficult. The complementary coffee and biscuits was a lovely gesture although have our group drank tea. The bedrooms were roomy and smelt so clean. There was an awful smell coming from bathroom or kitchen, neither were particularly clean and there were a lot of small black flies and ants around. The sofa's were not really comfortable neither were the beds. The stairs leading up to the first floor were very narrow and steep.
- Aakash (10/5): Was really good -
- Turner (3/5): Wouldn’t stay again - Location close to town Wasn’t clean (rancid milk in bottom of fridge, it stank so had to wash that all out, spilt drinks container under one of beds), all of the beds were unbelievably squeaky, none of the blinds actually fitted the windows, no toaster, all seats in lounge were horribly uncomfortable. We cut our visit short as just a very poor place to stay.
- paul (10/5): Nice quiet street - Downstairs bedroom Nothing
- Hannah (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb -
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - The house was very clean perfect for our stay There was nothing that we didn't like
- Suzanne (8/5): Very good - Very clean. Easy to gain entry and 2 parking permits supplied. Everything we needed for an overnight stay. Attended a 60th birthday party nearby, so was ideal for our family.
- Shaun (7/5): Good -
- Ryan (8/5): Very good -
- Tom (8/5): Very good -
- Ryan (8/5): Very good -
- Matt (8/5): Very good -
- Jiuta (9/5): Booked on behalf of a family. Price was reasonable. Well facilitated just enough to what was needed. - Location, price Busy space
- Nicholas (4/5): Disappointing -
- Valentina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donna (7/5): Are stay was ok as I said above could of been improved - It was clean That it only had one bathroom between 8 and one permit for 8 people
- Nabeela (7/5): Good - It was clean and the beds were comfortable.
And it had a bedroom downstairs. Also loved the complimentary tea and coffeee and biscuits and water thankyou. The steps were a bit steep and a bit high. Which is bad for my knees. Also we could hear alot of noises from neighbors.
- Emma (8/5): Very good - The house was clean beds were comfy the shower was amazing best 1 of all the places my family and I have stayed. Dirty cutlery in the drawer. Leftover pizza in the microwave. Lack of dustpan and brush and clean teatowels
- Stuart (8/5): Very good -
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roberta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (10/5): We had a lovely stay ,but had to leave early as some family members became unwell , overall it was a lovely property and - Clean easy checkin and lovely host Beds a bit uncomfortable
And could do with a toaster
- Jamie (1/5): AVOID AT ALL COSTS - AVOID AT ALL COST
THIS PROPERTY IS NOT FIT FOR RENTAL 1/The area is squalid and unsafe
2/ The property is squalid & unsafe. It is not fit for rental. Hall smoke alarm broken, walls broken, pipes exposed, wires hanging, furniture broken, lights flickering, window broken, upstairs bedroom heater not working, mattress springs sticking into your back. Mould around bath/shower.
3/ found a USED CONDOM in the bin. Open chocolate left under bed and drawer which our young children ate 🙈 floor was sticky and had a baby crawl on it.
4/ only 1 car parking permit was given instead of 2 so we had to move 1 car away from the property in an unsafe neighbourhood with a disabled child.
5/ the property stunk! Bad smell of sewage and there flies everywhere.
6/the fridge leaked water.
The list goes on….
Property manager basically said you get what u pay for… so for anyone reading this review your money is better spent at the local travelodge, holiday inn, premier inn.. even if it cost bit extra.
- Aaron (8/5): Very good - It's was warm and clean. The communication with staff was great.
- Robert (1/5): Bad - Not a thing place was not what I paid for holes in walls stair so steep my grandchildren were having trouble getting up there and the smoke alarm was broken All of it not a family friendly place to stay would not recommend anybody staying there we left within 30 min off getting there had to find some were else to stay that night very very poor will not be booking any more with you as you have not got back to me about this property and the nightmare we had finding some were else to stay that nigth not good enough
- Jane (5/5): Passable - Close to alton towers The smell of sewage when we first entered the property, no plug in the bath so couldn't bath the kids, not enough pots and pans.
- Pamela (10/5): Exceptional - The multi-bedrooms are all double. We only stayed for 18 hours. The house was clean and welcoming. WiFi is available for the children. Towels and tea & coffee are readily available. It was a good price for a four-bed. I would have preferred an early check-in to drop off our luggage before a meeting, as it was offered as an option during the booking.
I chose the downstairs bedroom because it was close to the bathroom, but the smoke alarm kept giving a loud beep, which kept waking me up. In the end, I had to change bedrooms for a good night's sleep.
- Oliver (3/5): Disappointing - Cheap Lockbox code was wrong, property was dirty and there was crockery with foul smelling liquid in that spilt all over us. Host didn't offer any solution or refund.
- Kerri (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (5/5): If you are looking for a bed for the night and nothing more, its fine. Has loads of bedrooms - a lot bigger than expected The location is in a very deprived part of Stoke, we had no issues but there was some very loud car revving in the early hours of the morning, plus some very early morning dog barking. Also the house had a peculiar smell.
- Brusby (7/5): All round very happy with my stay just some things that can be improved - The beds were decently comfy and the cleanness was spot on The sofa's were not very comfortable and one of the lights didn't work
- Lauren (2/5): Catfish - Good distance to Alton towers and lots of places to eat in the surrounding area. Area was very run down (although not the worst) however the locals were out in the street till 22:30 - 23:00 on both nights, this prevented myself,my partner and our children from sleeping. Due to this we could not open the windows either, which made it very stuffy and ridiculously warm.
The smell of drains is overwhelming, we bought candles to try and disguise this.
Out of the 4 complimentary bottles of water, 3 were open and half drank and there was half a bottle of milk in the fridge.
Generally not a very clean environment,I had to clean this when we got there.
Not actually sure this place was cleaned prior to our visit, as I found a clump of hair on my pillow, there was rubbish and clothing left in one of the bottom drawers in room 3 and underwear behind the radiator in room 2 (this may have been an accident though).
Although there was a bath we were not able to bath one of our children whom cannot use a shower due to her disability, this was quite distressing for her.
The accommodation was pretty much bodged together and there were exposed wires and pipes everywhere.
The beds were so uncomfortable and very squeaky; they were NOT doubles as described,,more like 3 quarter beds. We weren't given enough towels for the 7 of us either,we had to buy our own. 1 toilet roll also provided, again ANOTHER cost we weren't expecting. The settees were hard and so u comfortable infact this whole stay was uncomfortable.
The "small garden" was NOT a garden but a very hazardous small yard, our children were gutted they couldn't kick their ball around.
Overall I would give this property a huge miss, if this was Tinder it would be a catfish.
- Fatai (5/5): Passable - Rooms were good and the kitchenette. Toilet is horrible. An eyesore.
- Laird (9/5): Superb -
- Rosie (8/5): Excellent for short stay - Nice clean everything you need Stairs are very steep
- Tintin (8/5): Very good -
- Ellandrea (8/5): perfect location for our stay and extremely helpful hosts. - the communication with the hosts was brilliant, extremely helpful. they were very keen to make our stay as stress free as possible. nice big bedrooms, good parking and a clean property. sofa wasn't particularly comfortable and a few more utensils and a couple more pans in the kitchen would definitely make a difference to the property ratings.
- Alison (8/5): Very good -
- R (7/5): Good - Spacious property with 4 bedrooms.
Easy access
Clean and tidy. Only 1 toilet / bathroom..
Bathroom has a blocked drains.
- Louise (7/5): Was good for a stopover after Alton towers, beds nice and clean. Fresh towels. The only let down was the noisy beds, and - The location from Alton towers was good, and it was clean A bad smell from the kitchen and toilet, maybe a sewage smell was quite bad, back of the toilet didn’t look great. The bed I was on was quite noisy, I didn’t sleep well.
- Lauren (1/5): Don't believe the 10 ☆ reviews! - There were 6 of us, so finding a 4 bedroom house 30 minutes from Alton Towers was good.
Free parking. For a house that can potentially sleep 8, the facilities were severely lacking!
Kitchen: 3 knives & 3 forks made it difficult for the 6 of us to eat dinner. Upon contacting the host, I was informed that he hadn't checked and that guests take them.
Oven wouldn't heat up despite being set correctly - eventually, after playing around with the buttons, we got it to begin heating, but this meant we had 4 hungry kids who didn't get their dinners until nearly 9pm (not ideal after a long day at Alton Towers!)
No oven trays - we had to resort to laying foil across the shelves.
No toaster - Cooking toast for 6 under the grill is a very slow process!
Bathroom: No working shower - shower had no power to it; isolator switch was 'on'; switch in fuse box was 'on'. Upon contacting the host, I was directed to check the isolator switch as it was stiff, so he'd removed the screws. We'd already checked that it was on anyway, so knew that wasn't the problem. No other solution was forthcoming from the host.
No plug for the bath meant having a bath wasn't an alternative either.
Only 4 bath towels provided for 6 of us (a moot point in the end as we could neither shower or bathe!)
Lounge/diner: only 2 very small, very uncomfortable sofas meant very limited seating. Sitting on the sofa 'cushions' was akin to sitting on a wooden box. The dining chairs (again, not enough) were slightly more comfortable.
Bedrooms: decent sizes, but all 4 beds were very uncomfortable - you could feel the springs in each of the mattresses and definitely in need of replacing. They were metal bed frames that were VERY noisy and creaky every time someone moved or turned over. 3 of the 4 beds seemed to have broken frames that had been taped up to cover the broken bits.
Serious holes in the kitchen and bathroom had been filled with expanding foam and brillo pads!
Electrics around the property seemed to be in need to work.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Imran was the perfect host. Please was clean and tidy.
Close to alton towers, like 30mins. Loads of places to eat nearby like tgi and mcdonalds. Apparently, according to my sister, the downstairs bed was a bit squeaky....I slept like a baby upstairs 🙂
- Lisa (8/5): Clean and quiet - Clean and tidy Not much around location without driving
- Jacquie (4/5): Somewhere to get a few hours sleep - Nice and easy to get in and parking was fine. House was secure and warm. Bedding was fresh and clean.
However for 1 night we made do Location was in a run down area and was worried about the cars. Beds were uncomfortable as you felt every spring. Kitchen light didnt work and fridge smealt fousty. Dissapointing the bath had no plug especially as we had young children.
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Quiet location, no disturbance from neighbours. Good selection of tea, coffee, biscuits and milk waiting for us on arrival. Friendly and helpful host. Bedrooms and lounge very basic, one of our party found their bed a little uncomfortable, but can't complain given the price. If you plan to spend the evenings socialising and watching TV in the lounge this might not be your best choice, but we were using this as a base to visit Waterworld and other local attractions, for which it was perfect. Be aware the stairs are quite steep, but this wasn't a problem for us (and note one of the four bedrooms is on the ground floor anyway)
- Debra (6/5): The arrangements were excellent and easy to book, it was reasonably priced. - The beds and bedrooms were spotless, as was the bathroom, the little welcome tea and biscuits were a nice gesture. The sofas were so uncomfortable and instructions for how to use the microwave would be helpful.
- Margret (10/5): Exceptional - The place was exceptionally clean.. Everything as described .Would recommend
- Haider (10/5): Exceptional - I really like the house . It was nice and quiet . We had a really good time over there . And the host was really good . I would rate 10/10
- Jerome (6/5): It was a pleasant day for our trip to Alton Towers - Heated for five of us The bed was extremely uncomfortable and loud if you moved
- S (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sian (3/5): Poor -
- Lee (5/5): You get what you pay for - Our host Imran was helpful, polite and courteous. Answered any questions very quickly and helpfully.
He even provided two parking permits as we had to take two cars last minute.
Bedding was clean.
Bottles of water were provided as was tea and coffee facilities. That was a nice touch.
The location is 35/40 minutes from Alton Towers and was a low cost option for families on a budget. I do believe that you get what you pay for, this was a low cost overnight stay but the facilities reflect the cost.
Half used soap bar in the bathroom was a significant low point, as were the lack of PAT testing stickers, having said that I cannot confirm if the electrics have been tested or not.
Toilet was clean, but the area around it was grim, mouldy pipe work and self expanding foam will help you picture it.
Beds were very flimsy, and groaned every time we moved giving a very unsettled night. Sofas were equally uncomfortable.
One bedroom with a loft hatch was not lockable which made me a little uneasy.
It all felt very cheap, but then, it was a low cost stay. £120 for 6 people to stay over night,
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tabatha (8/5): Very good - Was clean The bedroom we got put in had a metal bed frame and was very squeaky with every move also only a small double so my partner slept on floor but other then that was brilliant
- Periuaije (10/5): Exceptional - It was one of the best accommodation I have ever booked. Very clean
- Dan (5/5): House needs freshening up. - Able to accommodate party number, linen was clean. Parking and permits where available. Quiet area. Bathroom - Smelt damp and mouldy. Not suitable for a larger person. Lack of facilities, sofas were uncomfortable only seating for 4 people when the house sleeps eight. Cutlery, glasses, tableware and utensils were not available for all party members. Beds where noisy and one was had tape on one of bed posts. Doors were difficult, heavy and one did not open completely. Not enough towels for party after speaking to the owner as well confirming numbers.
- Jenny (5/5): Overall rather disappointed. I chose a house to stay in rather than a hotel as I love to cook for my family. The lack of - Plenty of bedrooms and storage space. Beds were comfy and clean. It was perfectly located for all our leisure needs. The bathroom had an awful sewage smell that wasn’t nice. Even with the bathroom fan on, it still smelt awful and off putting. Especially with it being right next to the kitchen.
The kitchen was relatively clean and tidy but the facilities were very poor. You couldn’t cook much as it only had one pan and one fry pan. The cooking utensils was just a wooden spoon and chopping knife. The cutlery was minimalistic. The crockery was mis matched and no glasses to drink out of. The microwave had no instructions of how to use. The oven didn’t work to start off with, I had to press a few buttons on front to get it to work. There was no tea towels to dry anything even though I’d asked.
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Janay (7/5): Good -
- Stephen (7/5): Good -
- Deven (8/5): Very good - Booked as a one night stay for the nearby Alton Towers theme park. We were satisfied with the provided facilities and it had everything we needed. The host provided amenities for us and meant we didn't need to bring too much with us. Check in was very smooth, the host was very communicative and ensured a smooth stay.
The heating was also low when we entered the property but the host directed us on how to turn it up so no problem there and the property remained hot for the duration of the night. The beds were a little uncomfortable but we understand that it is a personal preference.
- Stephen (5/5): Adequate - Bathroom, bath waste filled up when the shower was used. No bathroom blinds
- Colin (7/5): Good - Ideal for our stop over for the night
- Luke (6/5): Ok places, just a bit damp and fusty - Easy access Very bad smell of damp in kitchen and bathroom
- Jurate (7/5): Good -
- Eva (5/5): Standard, good value for money with space but not a good area especially with noise - Lots of space, minimal but value for money was good Area, doesn’t help when your neighbours tel you it’s not a good place for a B&B or a holiday home as it’s the ghetto apparently. Lots of noise, not very comfy beds, lack of parking and internet was awful, but creepy that back door is so difficult to unlock and lock and outside of home isn’t much to look at
- Nicolas (7/5): Good -
- Bailey (8/5): Very good -
- John (7/5): No frills but certainly catered for our required. Shower was hot, everything was functional. - Lovely welcome pack Not much space for living room considering it has 4 double bedrooms
- Anonymous (7/5): Nice stay for what we wanted. Just a shame about the leaking toilet - Very clean and good facilities Only thing I can fault was the smell from the leaking toilet and contanstly having to mop up the water.
- Laura (8/5): Very good - The flat was good for an overnight stay. Very clean. It was quiet and neighbours were very polite when we got there.
There was tea/coffee etc available for us to use which was very welcome after a 5 hour drive.
Towels provided in every bedroom. The stairs going up to bedrooms were extremely narrow and steep. The top landing had quite a dip in the floorboards. Going into the 1st bedroom on the right was very strange. The floor dipped to the left of the building by a good 3/4 inches which meant all the furniture was also slanted. There was a double bed, but whoever is on the outside is definitely rolling off the bed. (I did, twice) Very strange feeling walking on such a gradient.
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Great location.Clean Very awkward to use the toilet due to lack of space
- Stephen (8/5): 1 night stay, 7 people staying. - Lovely clean house. The owner of the property is very prompt with any information that is needed for the stay. An upgrade of the mattresses on each bed would make this stay absolutely fantastic. The mattresses are spring and appear not to have changed in a long time, so they can feel uncomfortable. Other than that, a recommended stay at an affordable price 👍
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Lavenia (9/5): cosy/ comfortable and clean , value for money - comfortable downstairs toilet n bathroom
- Stacey (10/5): Lovely stay - Just what we needed for a night stay Nothing
- Anonymous (8/5): Clean and comfortable - The place was clean and had everything you need.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (10/5): stay here lovely house - very clean whole house to my self it was perfect
- Melanie (3/5): Poor - Host was so helpful and very approachable Location , noise , no bath plug , could not access garden manager forced door but then top lock jammed , cooker did not work on arrival but he fix quickly , not enough towels and kitchen equipment was minimal ..
Washing machine was stinking so cleaned it out before use ..
