- Helen (8/5): Lovely location and very peaceful. - Lovely little lodge with a very comfy bed. Nothing
- Bloomfield (9/5): Lovely stay at Howbeck - Lovely place to stay. My first time in a pod, had everything we needed in a lovely setting.
We ordered tea, breakfast and a packed lunch from Sarah. All very good and great value. It was on a campsite so it was shared facilities. These were fine with lots of hot water.
It was quiet when we stayed so not a massive problem. There were a few more toilets further up the site as well.

- Shengqian (Neo) (10/5): - Great location and lovely hosts!
- Knight (10/5): -
- Jenny (10/5): - Brilliant location and facilities. Local village was sweet and easy access to the fells. Lodge was spot on and had everything we needed. As the local shops had weird opening times it would be good to have an honesty box on the farm for essentials like milk and coffee, as non of the cafes opened until after 10am.
- Gemma (10/5): -
- Soma (10/5): Great location and lovely pod - Everything the location the room and services Everything was good
- john (10/5): Idyllic location within easy walking distance from the village - The accommodation was immaculate and the setting idyllic and peaceful despite being on a working farm. I pre-arranged my evening meal and breakfast which was prepared by the host and collected at the farm house for me to take up to my lodge and eat out on the veranda. The tea and coffee facilities were perfect and not lacking in volume, I was even provided a small bottle of the farms own fresh pasteurised milk - gorgeous! The fridge did have a whiff to it when open, but was clean.
- Sharon (9/5): Fantastic one night stay - Loved the pod the area 5 mins walk into the village and half hour drive to Keswick I really enjoyed my stay lovely views surrounding areas Nothing
- Luke (3/5): Poor hygiene, pizzas are a rip off - The village was nice and quiet. You could hear a pin drop. The pod was nice to look at, it looked presentable along with the surroundings. The pod was filthy inside. The bed sheets clearly hadn't been washed/changed and it hadn't been properly vacuumed. The whole inside was covered in all kinds of hair and grass that hadn't been cleaned out before our arrival. Dirty windows. Considering they charged £90 it wasn't worth it. There had been a dog in the bed.
We ordered pizzas from the site owners, one was overcooked, they were clearly made with cheap ingredients, you'd get better at Aldi for half the price, and worst of all there were several hairs in the food.. disgusting!! To think we paid £20 for cheap rubbish! The outside toilets and showers were full of cobwebs and spiders, etc. horrible! Didn't feel clean. We didn't even want to go to the toilet but had to. I won't be visiting this campsite again. Poor standards of hygiene.
- Catherine (10/5): Amazing - Lovely and peaceful
You can hear the stream with the door open
She had put the heater in and on ready so was lovely and cosy
We could just go up and see the farm animals
The showers were incredible for a outhouse
Extremely clean for being on a farm
The owner was always quick to respond, easy to talk to and very accommodating to us
All round amazing with beautiful view to wake up to I don’t think there is anything to say negative about this beautiful little place

and sarah the host was brilliant. there was nothing for us not to dislike!
- Mulhall (8/5): Lovely place, definitely would stay again but would recommend getting blinds for the front door! 😁😁😁😁 - Cosy little lodge, comfy bed and very warm. No blinds/curtains on the front door.
- Barthram (10/5): -
- richard (10/5): Lovely place to stay nice location and lovely walking locations nearby. - Location was lovely want to go again asap for longer next time. Can’t think of anything.
- Stacie (10/5): -
- Alex (10/5): - The host was so helpful and made everything easy for me. The setting was beautiful tucked away in a working farm. It was perfect. Everything was top-notch, and I wouldn't have changed a thing! Having to leave. 😔

- Oriane (9/5): - Location was a little out of the way, but it was such a peaceful place to stay. This one cow seemed to have been cranky and never stopped mooing overnight, but I ended up liking the cow sounds in the end! For some reason I expected an actual view of the river but obviously the river is hidden by bushes so you can hear it and see it if you go right up to the edge, but otherwise you do not see it. My own fault for thinking I would.
- Amie (10/5): Lovely stay - The owners couldn’t of helped enough all the little extras just made it and the location was perfect so peaceful
- Christopher (8/5): -
- John (9/5): - The POD itself was GREAT! cosy, comfortable and had a brilliant sleep. Excellent facilities.
Lovely host N/A - I would stay again 100%
- Jonames7929 (10/5): Book this location if you are thinking about it, you will have no regrets. - There wasn’t a thing I disliked. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive to my every needs. The POD was incredibly comfortable with everything you need and then some. Absolutely nothing. These people and their service are what everyone should strive to achieve. Thank you for such a wonderful stay ❤️

- Rhian (9/5): - Location
Comfortable bed
- Carol (9/5): Great value for money and peaceful beautiful surroundings with friendly owners - Property was clean welcoming and comfortable Toilet facilities inadequate for the camping site! Better for the caravans however
- Lisa (10/5): We had a wonderful nights stay at Howbeck. The pod was in beautiful, peaceful surroundings and really very comfortable! - Beautiful surroundings, very comfortable bed, very friendly and helpful host Nothing
- Frank (9/5): Lovely pod in the middle of the country-side. - A lovely place in the country-side, on a short walk from Hesket-Newmarket. We really enjoyed the peacefullnes and our cute littel pod, which was very tranquil with a spacy set-up arond. Nothing
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional - It was a really nice smale cabin on the camping ground next to a river.
Perfect to sit outside on the evening That we just stayed one night and not longer.
- Chris (10/5): Quiet, quirky & excellent value for money 🥰 - Omg wow what an amazing find! Walked the Cumbria Way & this was off the beaten track but well worth the extra miles ! Beautiful pod , excellent bathroom facilities & packed lunch well worth the money ! So comfortable & so quiet!
Would defo recommend Nothing 😅
- Mark (10/5): Fantastic - Quite and peaceful with beautiful surroundings
- Denis (8/5): Very good -
- Salvatore (10/5): Exceptional -
- Przybycien (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louise (10/5): Great stop, good value for money - Great location, loved the working farm
Super peaceful get away Nothing
- Sarah (10/5): Fantastic place, friendly staff, great food - The location was beautiful, the pod was super cosy with a nice comfy bed, the staff were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast and packed lunch was amazing, the packed lunch in particular was really good value: homemade cakes and pastries, kettle chips, fresh sandwiches...way more than we expected for £5 and all really good quality, 10/10 would definitely recommend this place to anyone. We stayed in the pod but they also have a shepherd's hut which looked lovely too.
- Thomas (10/5): 5 stars 🌟 - peaceful, great amenities, lovely sitting outside of an evening and in the morning listening to the birds and the stream, will definitely be back. nothing, all was great.
- Kirstin (8/5): Love Pod - What a beautiful location, ideal for lakes, Hadrians Wall etc. The Pod was lovely, clean and comfortable. After an 8 hour journey, the tea, coffee and milk in bottles were very much appreciated. The shower block needs a bit of tlc. Afternoon shower instead of early morning as a bit cold. But this would not put me off booking again
- Dagmara (7/5): Good - The hut was very comfy, clean and the bbq was available. The shared bathroom had barely warm water if cold, and there was only one toilet and one sink. A bit of a queue in the morning.
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shane (10/5): Exceptional - A great location for both the lakes and the local village. The hut is beside a cared for working farm.
- Mark (7/5): Good - It’s in a nice situation It feels like the accommodation would be brilliant in good weather. My stay coincided with rain and there was nowhere inside the pod to hang up a coat with the result my waterproofs were still wet next morning. The grass in the field was quite long so it was impossible to get to the toilet barn or out of the field without getting soaking trainers. Even a cut path would help.
- Nicola (10/5): Fantastic place. Just what I needed. Loved the hut and that bedding tea coffee milk was included. - Love the location. Perfect if you want some peace. The hut was warm and the bed extremely comfy. Also a little suntrap. With it being a working farm wasn't sure what the dogs would do when they were out . My dog was kept on lead but I was nervous about them running up to him.
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robbie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gibson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Holly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Idyllic treat - Super friendly owner, who were wonderful and helped us in any and everyway they could.
Idyllic location, close to a small village pub.
This is a real gem in a cosy little part of the lake district. Nothing.
- Chi (10/5): Great place, location, comfortable, rural stay. - Called Sarah to say I had arrived , she was out but came back in 5 mins to give me the keys & showed my log cabin. Cabin was spot one, very new, very clean, very fresh & very comfortable.
Shared toilet & shower which was ideal for a working farm. Again no issues.
Farm was only a 7 minutes walk to the local village Hesket Newmarket, with one pub The Old Crown.
Pub was also great.
Would recommend & stay again.
Thanks Sarah.
I’m No issues.
- Knight (10/5): Exceptional - The pod at Howbeck Lodge was comfortable and well kitted out. Coffee machine, kettle, and fridge meant we could have hot and cold drinks at the ready. There were also pots, plates and cutlery for meals although we opted to eat at the locally coop ran pub, the crown. Our host Sarah was amazing and even made us sausage butties in the morning before we left. There were a few flies that got into the pod.
- Danielle (10/5): Couldn’t of asked for more, Perfect - Beautiful pod in amazing surroundings, the family were so helpful and provided everything we could need, We ordered the BBQ pack which was excellent value and food was amazing, also came with jacket potatoes and home made salads, the food was fresh and delivered to our pod, the breakfast in the morning was delicious. The whole site was clean, tidy and beautifully maintained. Loved every minute of our stay and we definitely will be visiting again.
- Mark (9/5): Brilliant pod, best we've stayed in. - Beautiful pod, only 3 weeks old.
Had a double bed in it, a fridge, tassimo machine, towels. Outside was a bbq and decking.
We brought bedding, pillows etc. You don't need to bring anything.
We paid for the cooked breakfast which was great. You can order pizza, which we didn't about know about until we got there (we'd already booked a meal in the local pub). We heard the pizzas were nice too. It would be better if the bed was in the middle of the back wall as you need to climb over the bed to get out.
The toilet block has only 1 toilet and a queue formed a few times. I believe that toilet block is being refurbished though.
