• Earnshaw (10/5): - We booked Casona Gloria for our first trip to Tarija and had a wonderful experience. Our flight was delayed, but the owner was on hand to make sure we were able to access the accommodation without any problems. The building, room, and common areas are beautiful and very well maintained. On our final day, we asked if it was possible to pay to extend our room reservation for a few extra hours, and the owner was very accommodating. This worked out perfectly, as our flight was delayed again. When I next visit Tarija, I will definitely check to see if Casona Gloria is available. Reservamos Casona Gloria para nuestro primer viaje a Tarija y tuvimos una experiencia maravillosa. Nuestro vuelo se retrasó, pero el propietario estuvo presente para asegurarse de que pudiéramos ingresar al alojamiento sin ningún problema. El edificio, la habitación y las áreas comunes son hermosos y están muy bien cuidados. En nuestro último día, preguntamos si era posible pagar para extender la reserva de la habitación por unas horas más, y el propietario fue muy amable y flexible. Esto resultó perfecto, ya que nuestro vuelo volvió a retrasarse. Cuando vuelva a visitar Tarija, sin duda comprobaré si Casona Gloria está disponible.

• BenPatient (9/5): Nice traditional apartment - The apartment was really sweet: traditional features, comfortable and with heating. Above a nice cafe that does awesome cakes and ice creams. Very central.

As the rooms were ready we were able to check in as soon as we arrived Patio to sit out as a group Very, very helpful when we realised we had left some clothes behind, posted to our next hostel! Aircon that could warm the room. Helped us with our delayed flights. Would love to stay here again 😊 Nothing, all was great
• Audetainha (9/5): Superb - This hotel was a very good option in Tarija, the hosts were very helpful and helped us book activities. The room was big and well accommodated. The breakfast is from Monday to Friday in the nearby shop, it's simple but good (coffee, fresh juice and toasts).

• Manuel (10/5): Great stay in Tarija. Enjoyed the hotel and also the ice cream shop at the entrance. Great ice cream. The hotel is very - Central location and decor. Modern bathroom facilities. The room with the balcony was great. The other two had no external windows. This should be made clear when you choose your room, i.e. NO WINDOW.

It is more of a B&B than a traditional hotel, but the cafe/ice cream shop owned by the same family, in the same building, acts as an informal Front Desk for the Casona.

• Madison (8/5): Strange experience - Very nice shower, great linens, comfortable bed. The owner gave us lots of nice recommendations. We had a strange experience here. First, when we arrived in the afternoon on a weekend, there was a ton of traffic. The streets are very narrow and there is absolutely no where to park by the hotel. We were under the impression that parking was available, but apparently you have to confirm this with the owner prior to arrival- I think he only has one spot and it costs $8 a day. So my husband dropped me off to circle the block while I went into the attached ice cream store to check in. The very first words she said to me after I said we had a reservation at the hotel, was ok you need to pay in full right now. So I had to go track down my husband in traffic and get my wallet. Then we had to park on the sidewalk to unload some bags in the middle of traffic with no where to put them until she unlocked the door of the hotel. Then we had to wait an hour or so for the owner to come and explain the parking (meanwhile my husband was circling the block because there was nowhere to stop). So definitely confirm parking before you arrive and realize that there is no reception. This is probably fine if you don’t have. a car. Secondly, the owner charge us a rate of 7.5 to 1usd even though the official rate is 6.89 to 1usd and our credit card/ bank give us 6.85. When we questioned this he eventually relented and charged us 7 to 1, but it was more expensive than we bargained for. We have been in Bolivia a month now and this was the only hotel that made up its own exchange rate.

A haven in a great central location. The staff were so nice and welcoming. Facilities like the bathroom were great. Highly recommend. Nothing to dislike!

• Mariela (9/5): Casona Gloria, probably the best location in Tarija - Great location just a few meters from the main square Luis de Fuentes and la Casa Dorada. Quite comfy and very neat rooms with lovely antique furniture. Friendly staff and good services. The owners are quite helpful providing info about tours in Tarija. The ice cream shop is probably the best in the city. The Casona Gloria has an added historic value being the place where the great poet Roberto Echazú was born. Breakfast starts a bit late (after 9am)

• Shawn (10/5): Great Stay in the heart of Tarija. - Beautiful huge room in a perfect location, a block away from the main square with loads of restaurants around. Great view on to the street from the little balcony, huge comfortable bed with lovely linens, fast and strong wifi. Lovely huge bathroom with plenty of hot water. We really enjoyed our stay here! There's a kettle and good sized fridge, loads of seating (including two couches) and the decorating is truly lovely. We stayed 3 nights and could easily have stayed longer. Be aware that you pay at the restaurant next door and that communication between the owner and/or staff is largely non existent. You Do need to tell them your arrival.time so someone will let you in and take you up to.your room.

• Sandra (9/5): Great place to stay - Rooms were very updated nicely with huge tile shower and no hot water problems. Had a mini refrigerator , hot pot with instant coffee and tea. Nice air conditioning that made no noise! Very important when you sleep. We were very happy with the central location. Owners were very available per what’s app. This is an old colonial house with very updated rooms and baths They allow you to use the kitchen and garden however the kitchen inside cabinets could be cleaner. That’s me, I get icked around old dirt. Anyway i would stay there again. It is very close to restaurants, the main plaza. It’s very reasonable to stay here and rooms are quite comfy. Nothing really other than the dirty kitchen cabinets with mouse poop We did not need to use much of the kitchen.

The limitations in the check in time, mu flight got delayed and despite they were very nice and told me there would not be issues for a late checking, this creates a bit of stress.
