When we left, she offered us some travel advice that
allowed us to appreciate the surroundings more than expected beforehand.
Our room and the ɓ&b in general were stylishly decorated (and spotless).

- Steve (10/5): Spotless,Peaceful, relaxing, charming and very comfortable . - From the moment of arrival driving in to the property I knew it was going to be lovely, Daryl the owner is very welcoming and friendly and a lovely person. The whole property is refurbished and decorated to the highest standard. Station House and the surroundings has loads of its original charm and history, yet the interior design is modern, luxurious, comfortable, and beautifully put together.
The breakfast was a banquet, home made fruit compote with yoghurt and granola was delicious, as was the cooked breakfast, all quality local produce.
And finally there is Iggy, the most gorgeous friendly labradoodle you could meet, if you love Animals you can’t not want to spend a little time with Iggy. If you are going to be within 20 miles of Lanchester then stay at Station House. I do a lot of travelling and I can honestly say Station house is one of the loveliest places I have ever stayed at. There was not a single thing to dislike apart from leaving.

- Ruth (10/5): Lovely relaxing place to stay. - We loved our stay in the station house. Daryl was very welcoming and helpful and she kindly organised to get some laundry done for us. The bed was so comfortable and the bedroom was very quiet. The kitchen had everything that you would need and was spotless. The TV has lots of choices of channels. It is a great place to stay as you can do easy trips into Durham or day trips to the Yorkshire Dales. There is a lot of great walks nearby including a walking/cycle route that runs beside the house.
- Danny (10/5): Fabulous start to our holiday - We received a text from our host Daryl prior to our arrival and then she met us when we pulled on to the property and gave us our key to the cottage together with a warm welcome. The property is a refurbished old railway station and we feel has been completed to a very high standard. We stayed in the cottage which was very comfortable and spacious with an open plan kitchen diner on the ground level and a bedroom and shower/bathroom downstairs. This was the first stay on our tour of the north east of England and Scotland and it couldn't have got off to a better start. The bonus for us was that this is a pet friendly accommodation which enabled us to bring our labradoodle, Ted, with us. We enjoyed everything about this property and location so nothing comes to mind
