Guest Reviews
- Victor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Very clean!!! So comfortable, we really enjoyed our stay.would definitely be back!! :) - The property was really really clean. Had everything we needed and felt really comfortable :)
- Jiakang (8/5): Very good - The bedroom and bathroom are very clean and comfortable. The owner also provided me with the items I needed, which was really nice! Since the room is next to the toilet, if someone goes to the toilet in the midnight, the sound of the door closing will wake me up. Overall it’s pretty good.
- Jordan (8/5): Had a great stay despite the noise - Location is great, solo check-in works perfectly and owner are very responsive when something is required There is a a building under construction 5 meters from the room. It was very loud i have been waking up at 6am every single day. Not the fault of the hotel but it has tainted a little my stay. Wi-fi was terrible in the room and only worked in the common area
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Lotta (7/5): A cute room with a nice bathroom located close to a vibrant neighbourhood. - A cute room with a nice bathroom located close to a vibrant neighbourhood. There are some very nice coffeeshops and restaurants just around the corner and you’re very close to the car rentalshops. The bathroom however did feel like there hasn’t been a good airflow, it smelled a bit stuffy. The street is quiet (no traffic) but if there happens to be people outside talking, you will hear every word they say.
- Angie (10/5): Exceptional - It was very clean and with a good location
- Anna (7/5): Overall good - Very clean, matching to photos&description.
The neighbourhood was charming and safe. 25min walk to center but bus stop within 100m of the accommodation. Paid extra for the comfort of own ensuite, however the room was on ground floor and with a huge construction site in front that was starting very loud noises before 8am. Not their fault but highly inconvenient and disrupting.
Not very well insulated so despite of being a “quiet” neighbourhood, every noise was almost as if it was inside the room.
- Wen (6/5): Improvement Needed - Affordable price The shower in the men's bathroom doesn't work properly. You have to use the shower to flush the toilet. My room's air con is not working. The kitchen light can't be turned on.
- Rachel (8/5): Great budget option - Great location, room was more than enough for our four day stay, the fridge was super useful! Thanks for a great stay, we’d book again x
- Jeff (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elisabet (10/5): Exceptional - All was fantastic, location amazing
- Gizem (10/5): Exceptional - The room was pretty clean and wide.
We never felt anything wrong and was quite comfortable.
There is a kitchen where you can find anything you need and to cook.
There are 2 seperared bathrooms for women and men, that's the great thing.
I would choose stay again. It's not pretty close to city center but also good thing to see small street and the are is not dangerous.
- Çağnur (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stavros (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saïdi (9/5): Superb - They help you fast
- Charlotte (8/5): perfect what we needed - Gorgeous four poster bed with a curtain draped all the way around very romantic!!
Lots of room for clothes and in the bathroom.
Lots of little extras like a first aid kit and tea and coffee in the room - very thoughtful and appreciated! Slight musty/damp smell in the wardrobe so didn't use them
Very noisy building site outside ? (can't be helped) so lots of early morning wake ups!
Shower didn't stay hot for very long :(
An extra roll of toilet roll would have been good
- Billy (10/5): Great location, beautiful and clean property, welcoming hosts, comfortable bed - Tia & Mike have a beautiful property and provide personal touches that make you feel welcomed and at home. Very kind people and gracious hosts. That I eventually had to leave. Seriously, I could not have wished for a better experience.
- Mohamed (1/5): Bad - Very, very bad place. I booked a room with a private bathroom for three days. There was no hot water in the bathroom. I spoke to them and they did not fix anything. I spoke to the woman in charge and she scolded me and hung up on me. My reservation lasted a week. No one came to clean the room during all this time. I strongly advise against booking in this bad place.
- Andersson (7/5): Good -
- Monika (8/5): In general, good value for money. Cheap room in a good area. - The host was amazing and very helpful.
The location was great as everything was close by.
The value for money was great.
Room was spacious and mattress was very comfortable. There was no hot water for most of the stay, especially for last 2 days.
If you want to sleep well, you need to chose another place as this one is very noisy. You can literally hear everything from outside and from the corridor, noisy stairs, other rooms. I literally did not sleep for 8 nights.
My neighbours were super noisy so it did not help either.
Bathroom is in a tired condition but it does the job (apart from no hot water).
- Sarker (9/5): Nice place to stay - Room View. There was no view
No hot water at shower
- Silve (7/5): Good - Room was cute, also nice balcony!
Everything you need in kitchen and bathroom!
Host are always answering via booking message and are really helpful! :) If you like to have proper good sleep, definitely bring your earplugs! I didn't got any good sleep 4 nights. You hear everything whats going on on streets, inside the houses and even houses next door 🙈
I found long dark hair in my room and in my bed.
- Wanda (9/5): great value! - The bed was small but very comfortable. Very charming old building with wonderful high ceilings, hardwood floors, and antique fixtures. Nice the have use of a full kitchen. I expected to be bothered by the shared bathroom, but it's only shared with a max of 3 other rooms, and there are cleaning products provided, so that it was as comfortable as using my own bathroom. Plenty of hot water in the shower. The a/c produced a bad odor, but it was fine to just not use it. There was no way to block out light from the street, and there is a light just outside the window, also a lot of street noise.
- Huber (9/5): Superb - My room was beautifully peaceful, comfortable, and exactly what was needed before a big flight. Great kitchen facility and the perfect location being a walk from most attractions and close to good bus lines.
- Ioanna (4/5): Disappointing -
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (8/5): Good value for money in my opinion. - Interestingly, I loved this place and my husband didn’t and the difference was solely down to the shared bathrooms. See below. The room was spacious with two tall French windows and high ceilings, the decor was romantic, the air conditioning was effective and quiet, the shared kitchen was well equipped and well lit. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean enough. There were several great eats really close, we walked to and from Syggrou-Fix Metro station (line 1, one station after Acropolis) several times and we’re also within ( longer) walking distance of Plaka for morning exploring. Relatively quiet street. The men’s sole shared bathroom- not really enough facilities for 5 rooms, the shower was tiny, the position of the toilet made it difficult to sit on for a long-legged man, the handbasin plug leaked, making it difficult to shave, the mirror was small and ill-lit also difficult for shaving.
- Turkan (10/5): Lovely place to stay - Everything. Each day i received messages from property they were asking if i needed anything. And if i needed anything they were ready to help me immediately. 🤍 perfect and lovely place to stay.
- Phil (7/5): Good -
- Zorana (9/5): Superb -
- Lara (4/5): Close to tourist attractions but old and not well maintained. - Location. Was close enough to the tourist attractions and quiet. Very old and not well maintained room. Our TV was falling off the wall, we complained about it and they never came to fix it. Our bathroom was also outside of the room, we tried being quiet but the room doors were so noisy that was very hard.
- Benard (8/5): Very good -
- Rohit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeremy (9/5): Fantastic. Good price - Location was solid, place was clean, shower actually worked without getting water all over the floor, and had a standing shower. Heat pump allowed for AC. Extra curtains to block out light. Thin walls let a lot of sound in. But after a solid night of drinking it wasn't really a problem.
- Mariami (4/5): wouldn't recommend to anyone and defo wouldn't return here myself - the location was pretty nice - around 20 mins on foot to Acropolis. really loved the yard view. the bed was pretty comfortable too. the instructions from the host were pretty clear (but the door code was sent only after I requested it a few hours before check-in). well, first and foremost, the toilet wasn't properly cleaned - I had to use antibacterial wipes before using it. I contacted the owner regarding that, and they promised to send the housekeeper over ASAP. and they did, but the housekeeper didn't have a key to the bathroom (my bathroom was private, but not en-suite; it was outside the room), which is weird, cause a housekeeper usually always has an extra set of keys. so they left me some cleaning solutions I can use in the meantime. they came back the next day, but I locked the bathroom again, and they didn't have an extra key again. the owners asked me to keep the bathroom door unlocked, but I was moving out the next day, so it didn't matter much anymore.
the room wasn't very clean either upon further inspection (I am a perfectionist and a germaphobe, so I always do that). the fridge top was all dusty, and the drawers had some food crumbs inside. I know I cannot expect 100% cleanliness from a budget option, but I always travel on budget, and rarely encounter smth like this.
also, I had to take slightly warm (if not cold) showers cause the water in the shower wasn't hot enough (while it was piping hot in the sink tap).
yet another thing, which I should have predicted from the pics, but didn't, is how small the bathroom was - I could barely move around without touching the sink, door, etc. with my body.
- Kader (7/5): Good -
- Cihan (8/5): Enough quality with fair price! - Clean and cosy room with an affordable price.
The location was good. So close to public transportation options! Would be a good choice for a couple day accommodation. The walls were thin and also you can hear all the noise from the hallway. If you are a light sleeper, it will definitely be uncomfortable!
The room was a little bit small.
- Sławomir (7/5): Good - Very good location, clean, value for the money. Rooms need some refreshing. Poor WiFI.
- Netanella (8/5): great location/ comfy room - the shared facilities were a bit old and rusty
- Qyrazi (10/5): Exceptional - Good life Good food and super cantry sun, sea, warm people
- Abbas (9/5): Superb -
- Veronica (9/5): Superb - Excellent value for the price. Solo female traveller. Convenient safe location, 20minute walk to the acropolis. Residential neighborhood with lots of bars, restaurants, bakeries near by. Room was extremely clean and pretty. Firm mattress which I prefer, but maybe others will prefer something softer. The room was a perfect size for me, but maybe a couple will find it small. I would definitely stay here again. Walls are thin, and you can hear doors closing from but a minor inconvenience.
- Ismail (7/5): Good - Location and tranquility Bathroom is small and in a tired condition.
- Joshua (8/5): Very good -
- Donald (7/5): Good -
- Dixon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Violetta (9/5): Superb - Very recommended accommodation, has almost everything that is needed, good location. Would also be nice to have a washing machine and luggage storage
- Mohamed (8/5): Very good - Nice quiet hotel, good staff, good treatment, great location .
- Sander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Recep (5/5): Ok - Instructions are good. Bathroom sink clogs.
- Lucas (7/5): Overall good value for price for a solo traveler. - Location, Cleanliness, Quick and Effective Email Support. Nice decoration, air conditionner. The male bathroom is 3 times smaller than the female one. Not fair.
The wi-fi was good at times (several MB/s), slow at others.
- Kossaris (6/5): Pleasant - Location was great. Gaining entrance to the main door was frustrating, mainly due to my missing the fine print at the very bottom of the Booking . Com confirmation sheet. I was very happy to have a place to stay for that one evening.
- Abhinav (6/5): Chaotic stay left me frazzled - stay no more than a night if u must - The location wasn't too far off from the centre, and relatively quiet when I visited during off season. A variety of restaurants were available not too far away by foot. The area is a bit grubby, but not unsafe.
The room wasn't too small, and had a comfortable enough mattress.
This property is suitable for a pad to crash for a night or two, perhaps. Any more wouldn't be worth it. Prospective guests should keep in mind that there is no reception, this is its biggest failing. When things go wrong, they go spectacularly wrong. My visit was played by troubles and annoyances from the start, and other guests reported similar experiences. The management clearly is apathetic to guest concerns.
1. When I checked in, I was given the wrong entrance code and left standing downstairs, exposed to the elements. Calling the staff Tina didn't draw any apologies let alone any sympathy, I was curtly told only to use instant message to reach them, which they were slow to respond to as I'd soon find out. When I eventually entered, my room seemed occupied! Apparently they'd switched my room without informing me, necessitating another conversation with the surly management.
2. Often times the door wouldn't open despite using the correct code, and I was once locked outside in pouring rain. Again, no apologies. Understanding guests responded to me knocking on the door and Tina sheepishly sent a non message as if she'd helped, she hadn't.
3. The common areas were a mess and it was incumbent on guests to report when toilet paper was unavailable or the bins were overflowing. So expect to play a housekeeping role as well.
4. There were only two bathrooms, one for men and one for the ladies. Likely a nightmare when the rooms are all occupied, or the gender ratio not conducive!
Also, the men's room was matchbox sized (see pics) and despite my slim frame, I had to squeeze past the commode to reach the tiny shower area. In comparison, the ladies room was more spacious and had a bath tub!
5. No reception means no luggage storage. Convenient options aren't available in the neighborhood either
I'm summary, as a solo traveller on a budget, these conveniences and annoyances did their best to mar my stay but I tried my best not to let them. I'd only stay there if I were only in town for a night and knew my way around
- Themis (8/5): Very quite place and easy access -
- Tiana (10/5): Great location, cozy room. Recommended! - Quiet area, cozy private room for amazing price. Everything exactly as advertised. Send your id info before arrival and read your email. Otherwise you may have to wait a bit once you arrive as it has self check in .
- Sahar (9/5): Superb - Tia and Mike are incredibly friendly. They responded to my email as quickly as possible. The accommodation was very clean, and it's easy to catch the bus or walk to historical places and the city center. I definitely recommend their place.
- Ana (8/5): Good location, close to the main touristic attractions. - Good, safe location.
Close to touristic attractions (walking distance).
Comfortable bed. Difficult to open the main door.
The apartment is old, needs renovations.
- Paul (8/5): Quiet and comfortable. - The room was very light and welcoming and the bed was very comfortable. There was a small communal kitchen with all the basic appliances.
The area has a nice feel, lots of small restaurants in the narrow streets but still close enough to all the main tourist sights. The bathroom is tiny!
- Tomasz (7/5): When looking for place in good localisation for ok price and you plan to spend most time outside - Location is 15-20 minutes by walk from Acropolis. Neighbourhood is ok, some shops, some places where you can eat something. Also close is hill with nice view at the Acropolis. I felt quite save when i was walking arround. Bathroom is private but it is outside of room. Only you have key to open it. Self check in clear and easy Fridge is working really noisy, also in room is weak sound isolation from inside
- Shannon (9/5): A pleasant place to stay. - The apartment was a pleasant walk from the Metro station and a decent walk from the closest Lidl. There was a mini market just around the corner. The room itself was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The stairs up to the apartment squeak quite loudly.
- Patrick (8/5): Very good - Thank you for the nice stay!
- Robert (3/5): Poor - Beware. There was a hidden fee that nearly doubled the price shown on Booking.com. I admit I should have looked more closely at the bill before clicking confirm, but a hidden fee that large seems extremely deceptive and is not in line with how other properties operate on Booking. Further, the property is not a hotel but a rental property, the tiny bathroom was shared among a total of 4 or 6 rooms, and the internet hardly reached my room. The host was slow to respond. In travels to 40 countries, I've never given a poor review like this, but the experience felt like a scam owing to the above.
- Maria (8/5): Very good -
- Sophia (10/5): a clean, comfortable, stylish room with kitchen facilities in a great location - the location, the decor and the fact that it had accesss to kitchen facilities, was very affordable and accessible 24 hours.
- Shlomo (8/5): Very good -
- Abdalhakim (9/5): Superb - No body there
You enter the hours when u want
You feel it’s like really your home
- Grigorios (3/5): Dissapointing - The location is great Unfortunately you get what you pay for in Athens in 2024.However, no matter how much I pay I demand a clean healthy room. Although I stayed before at Allegria, this specific room had a terrible moldy smell and there was mold in the ceiling of the bathroom and most probably elsewhere. I stayed there for a whole week so I can't say I enjoyed my stay. The room needs renovation ASAP.
- Esther (4/5): A decent but harrowing stay. - Location was near to shops and restaurants and quite quiet. The toilet seat was missing throughout my stay and the floor creaked. The old locks were hard to open and I was locked inside the toilet for several minutes and finally woke up the other guest who opened the door from the outside at 5:45 am. Later I had problem opening my bedroom door. I called the owner and she sent the maid to show me how to open and close the locks and she scolded me for not knowing how.
The cooking utensils were old and scratched.
I didn't know there were four bedrooms in the small apartment but only one other room was occupied.
There was a huge pile of broken masonry outside the building across the street.
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Nikolaos (7/5): Good - Good location, 10 mins walking from the metro station. A lot of options are around for food, coffee, etc. Cause of the old building, the smell of moisture was quite intense
- Michal (7/5): Good - Room itself was beatiful, bathroom was also great. Well suited, well decorated. Room itself was beatiful. Close to the center and to some pubs and restaurants. The location was a little bit iffy and in the evening even a bit scary. No view. A little hard to find.
- Konstantinos (1/5): There are cameras inside the property - Nothing There are cameras inside the property it’s an old sad urine smelling building really far from the centre. The bathrooms are revolting. The whole place needs complete refurbishment and an injunction to remove the cameras. If you mention your right to review, the owners with use intimidation. I had to address the matters to the police and file a claim.
- Wendel (2/5): Terrible - Location is ok I think a few points were critical:
1 - The flat sheet and pillows case smelled sweat
2 - bedroom smelled mold
3 - Bathroom the lavatory sink was blocked and shower wasn’t comfortable to have a shower
My good point is the location only
- Ross (8/5): Very good -
- Ammon (8/5): Very good -
- De (7/5): It was a good location and I liked it’s slightly rustic charm, adequate for my needs. - I did have a problem with the front door key not opening which was frustrating but I eventually worked out that I needed to turn the key and keep pressure on it while pushing the door open. If you take the pressure off the bolt moves back enough to prevent the door from opening. The owner was prepared to drive 2 hours to help me get in so I was glad to have worked out how to open the door
- Ewan (7/5): Good -
- Michalis (8/5): Very good -
- Edit (10/5): Exceptional - A very well looked after place, equipped with absolutely everything.
- Kouroutoú (1/5): i would never recommend it to any of the people i know. the whole experience was dissapointing - location was ok, as well as the room itself horrible communication, no way of reaching the hosts, terrible sound blocking in the house, it felt as if the walls were made out of paper and i could not sleep at night because of people using the kitchen late at night, closing the doors very loudly etc. i also had to cancel my stay a few minutes after booking it online, because of a change i had in my plans, so i tried to contact the hosts about it but it was so so difficult. they only send automated emails, and there is a rude lady picking up the phone listed, who is not helpful and doesnt even speak proper greek or english. tragic.
- Raza (3/5): Poor -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Nice rooms, comfortable beds. Good location. There's a nice Greek restaurant around the corner with very accessible prices. The candies in the kitchen are really good. There are 5 rooms in the apartment and only two bathrooms.
- Pamela (9/5): Great location and good value - The location was good, about 15 minutes walk to Acropolis. There are shops and restaurants nearby. Good value if you just need a place to sleep, shower. Toilet was outside the room and doors
- Lubova (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nitin (3/5): Poorly management, far from city center, foul smell at the location. - The room was clean. The location was far from metro station. No parking space as the road in front of the location is congested, not even Taxi come to the place and leave you little far away. The location has some foul smell of sewage or something (cat poo?) that made it impossible to stay in the room without air conditioner. The location did not offer anything except some food court around 5 minute walk. There was nobody from the staff or owner side to resolve any issue, all contact numbers including emergency number gone to automated recorded message so it was horrible experience at the property at first day because another guest was in my room by mistake because she said the owner didn't tell her room and she couldn't reach them over phone she stayed in the room. The room looked dated with almost all items looked like they were purchased at flea market when available cheap because the room furniture etc. didn't match in style at all. No complimentary water bottle was provided and water tasted not good so had to buy water from nearby supermarket. The bathroom also didn't had cold water working, I had wrote to the owner about it but didn't get any reply. The bathroom has no floor mat so it becomes messy after taking a bath. Bathroom has nothing where you can put your clothes while taking shower.
- Jessica (8/5): THE Location for Athens and Affordable - Amazing location!! This is THE spot to stay in Athens, incredible bars and restaurants within walking distance and close to Acropolis.
It was easy to check in (self check in) and we didnt have any interactions with others while staying there. Definitely for people looking to get out and about town and have a comfortable place to sleep after. Bathroom was just outside the room (not connected) and there was a fridge and strong air con. Alot of people mentioned the smell of cat poo which we didn't notice at all, there are alot of strays in Athens so it mightve been that? Small room but I didn't mind!
- Ján (8/5): Very good -
- Anish (8/5): Very good - Nice location. Very near to all major attractions. Perfect if you don’t mind walking couple of kms
- Andrew (7/5): 1/2 mile from The Acropolis. - Felt safe. Nice kitchen. Coffee and sweets! Male toilet/bathroom a bit narrow
- Fadoua (9/5): Amazing place, clean and well decorated. Very good communication with the owners - Amazing place, clean and well decorated. Very good communication with the owners (they are flexible and wouldn't hesitate to make you feel comfortable)
- Robert (8/5): Very good - Good location.
- Tjasa (7/5): Good -
- Alexandra (10/5): So romantic and simple. - The interior was so beautiful and perfect for a couple looking for a bargain hotel with comfort and personal space. The bathroom was amazing by bargain rooms standards. Fridge, wardrobe, curtains, so lovely! Please send us the most important information on the emails first and be brief. We were very tired and we don't need a 5 day itinerary of things to do, I know Athens very well already and we both have smartphones.
- Vanesa (9/5): Superb - Quiet place, nice and spacious room, secure neighbourhood The outside door to enter to the building is very difficult to open with the code. I felt frustrated because I should not be that difficult to get in a house. I think that to fix that door will rise the service a lot.
- Mouna (8/5): Very good -
- Carola (10/5): Klasse! - They were very helpful! I had a leg / muscle injury on the ferry to Piräus and problems walking. So I asked if there is any chance I could get to my room earlier than 15 pm. And for an exception bc of the specific difficult condition I was in, they made it possible! Thank you so very much!!
And a big surprise I felt like home! Beautiful rooms in an apartment , very clean and beautifully decorated.
- Deepa (9/5): very nice loved it - nice property clean well maintained… close to the Centre
- Sandi (8/5): Very good -
