Amelia (1/5): Don’t use Booking.com. They just rip you off. - We didn’t get to stay here as the heating was broken, the water tank empty and previous guests had stolen bedding. The property manager moved us to another property that accommodated our large family group and was comfortable but no views and so not the relaxing stare at the ocean contemplative weekend we’d planned for. In addition to this, Booking.com charged an outrageous amount of additional fees over and above the quoted booking price including international bank transfer fees when it was paid for in Australian $ for an Australian property. While we recovered part of our fee (the difference between the two properties only), no percentage of Booking.com’s fees were refunded despite many emails explaining the situation. Booking.com are highly misleading and unethical. Book direct through a local real estate agent than this site is my recommendation- save at least $350 or more. There is no value from Booking.com other than research. They are awful to deal with. Great Ocean Rd Rentals manage this property directly. No idea.
