- Mrs.Orkwoodturner (10/5): Quiet, comfy, cosy cottage for an exceptionally relaxing getaway. - Beautiful, comfy, cosy cottage in an amazing setting. The garden was an extra bonus and was a great place for our dog to enjoy a run about when we were chilling in the cottage. There was everything you could possibly want in the cottage and the surrounding area was stunning. We live in Orkney, in the country, so are well use to peace and quiet, but it was great to go out in to the garden in an evening, take in the incredible view and listen to the owl (with no windš š¤£). We were visiting family and friends and getting a tow bar fitted on our car, but also enjoyed many a walk in the area and a great deal of relaxation. We would highly recommend this cottage and will use it again ourselves. We would love to know more about the cottage and Fyrish house next door and what it was used for on the Novar estate in the past. We can not fault our stay. The facilities in the cottage were great, endless hot water, warm and comfortable. The information left by the hosts was good, bins etc. The local toiletries were a nice touch. There was a tap and hose in the yard which would have been great for washing Montys legs but it was full of holes, not a deal breakerš¤£
- Victoria (10/5): Superb stay. Excellent house, private garden and glorious setting. - Superb old house with glorious garden and views. Very quiet location but only a few minutes from the A9. We were very lucky to have bright sunshine the whole time we were there but the heating in the house was super and excellent provision for washing and drying clothes. We long to return. Once onto the estate roads, through imposing pillars and a lovely avenue with mature trees, the rest of the road was rather rough with quite lot of potholes, Have to take them carefully.
