- Alevtina (1/5): DO NOT GO THERE - the location (a 5‑minute walk from the train station and 20 minutes from the city center) Do not go there! The service does not match the listing. This place is currently a filthy, unsanitary dump, unfit for rental, and has apparently been awaiting renovation for at least two years. Meanwhile, Booking.com still hasn’t removed the listing, which may put other guests in an impossible situation.
The competitive nightly rate in no way justifies disrespecting guests by offering an unsanitary place to stay. On top of that, there is a real health risk: asthma, allergies, fungal infections, and other germs.
This is the dirtiest accommodation I have ever seen:
* Windows impossible to lock,
* mold on every window and on the bathroom ceiling,
* damaged and poorly cleaned shower cabin,
* dust and cobwebs everywhere,
* no bedside tables in the bedroom and no functional power outlet
* peeling paint in several areas and exposed expanding foam in the hallway,
* general dirtiness on surfaces despite the cleaning team’s efforts,
* dirty dishes,
* appliances not working or not even plugged in,
* malfunctioning TV = no TV and no Wi‑Fi.
When we arrived at 6 p.m., the place hadn’t even been cleaned. We were told to drop our bags and come back as late as possible so the cleaning team could ‘take care of it’. They finally showed up at 9 p.m.—at the exact same time as us—and we didn’t get access to the accommodation until 10 p.m.
Even though Alan and his team try to be friendly and customer‑oriented, the solutions they offer are unfortunately not sufficient.
- Dajana (5/5): - Apartment is unfinished. Floor textil in bedroom is dirty
- David (8/5): - Location great
Dejaron solos 2 toallas grandes
Tiene un solo vaso
Carece de abrigos de cama, nos terminamos tapando con bolsas de dormir

- Yanic (2/5): A well equipped shithole - Good location. Pretty clean. Easy checkin. It smells of cigarettes really bad. Windows don't close. Place is a shithole.

- Andrew (1/5): Dangerous - Absolutely nothing. The owner had his nephew living in the property till the second my staff turned up. They were not aloud access till 5 hours after the paid for 3pm check in time. The property had not been cleaned while being lived in meaning it was an absolute state! I have so many pictures and videos that will be going public. Not to mention half the electric in the property does not work and had been taped off with red tape warning against the use. The shower tripped all electrics when used, there was wooden floorboards used as a ‘splash back’ in the kitchen area which is a massive fire risk. Basically AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! This property has been reported to the local authority and also booking.com which I hope remove this property from the site to prevent any harm being done to its customers. I have been given a refund and had too re book a new accommodation for my staff an hour after the had walked in. Dirty old used slippers left, all the owners nephews food drinks and clothes left in the house.

- Stanton (6/5): - We booked only a few hours beforehand. Still, we'd expect the bedding and towels to be better in the future. The towels were very stiff. The bedding had human hairs and a small blood stain. But the place was overall very large and accommodating.
- Samantha (8/5): -
- Derek (6/5): - Location was good Pre arranged an earlier check in had problems obtaining the entry key and was then informed the place hadn't been cleaned so we had to leave personal belongings there whilst it was cleaned👎

- Corentin (7/5): - Convenient, near the train station, cheap. Very basic (this was as expected: no wifi, no TV, some aspects of the flat could do with renovation, but then you’d have to pay more for your stay). I would suggest to get WiFi because my mobile connection there was pretty poor and it was difficult to use my phone for Internet.

- Jamie (8/5): Lovely location and at great price - Amazingly convenient location within 10 minutes walk of the train station. Good kitchen facilities. Privacy and amount of space to make it a home away from home. Cleanliness upon check in was great. Incredible price given how near it is to both west gate shopping, and train station, and how you get an entire apartment. Beautiful area of the city. Loved walking along the canal every morning. There were a couple of minor things like a power point near the bed that needed fixing. (This was well signposted and mitigated by the host providing an extension lead and power board) All well within what you would expect for the price. Perhaps a picture on the wall or a plant in the living room could have made it feel less Spartan, but ultimately I have no complaints. Would definitely stay again.
- Chris (8/5): Great location for a short stay in Oxford. - Great location in an interesting little corner of Oxford, 10 minutes' walk from the station. Comfortable bed.

- Karen (4/5): - It was very conveniently close to the conference venue we were attending . The sofa bed and double bed were comfortable. It was clean. The price was very low for an Oxford stay- in reflection of the owner continuing to get the flat renovated. It just felt very soulless and bleak inside. So sparsely furnished. The TV was turned to facing the wall, so obviously not working. We couldn't use the hob. We had ensured that the cooker switch was on, but couldn't get it to work. The bathroom light bulb was blown. If we'd wanted to use the oven, it would have been pure guesswork as the markings on both knobs were illegible. It was fine for one night, but I wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer.
- Andrew (5/5): - Location Place needs maintenance, list of things not working.
- ELSADIG (3/5): - location is good It was smelly when entering , no hot water
- Abi (10/5): -
- Claudia (7/5): - Great location.
Basic (this was as expected: no wifi, no TV, some aspects of the flat could do with renovation, but then you’d have to pay more for your stay).
Clean.
- Valerie (9/5): -
- steadybreeze (4/5): One night passing through it was bearable, couldnt recommend it though - Location, Price No TV, No Wifi, do not look behind the sheets.
Food in the cupboards 4+ years out of date!
Same issues that people were moaning about a year ago.
- mark (7/5): It meets the basic expectations so I would actually recommend - Calm, functionnal, bright, easy access, within walking distance of the center. Not incredibly well furnished or decorated. Clean on the surface, but needs an in-depth scrub.
- Dreyer (9/5): -
- Esme (1/5): Visiting the university. Accommodation was cheap but I’d rather pay more. Dirty and slept on floor as beds so uncomforta - Great location Beds extremely uncomfortable, dead flys, dirty, work being done .
- Luo (1/5): Bad - quiet at night the furniture wasn’t of good quality and overall everything seemed very unfinished
- Cathy (2/5): Don't go there, go somewhere else! - The location. This listing needs to be removed.
It is cheap because it's not lettable. The location is great and the flat could be nice if it was renovated properly.
There is rubbish all over the place. The shower was mouldy and dirty. I own a motel and clean most of the rooms myself. This shower had not had a proper clean in a very long time. The shower didn't drain properly either so you were standing in dirty water.
The kitchen tap is broken, and you would be hard pushed to prepare a meal unless it was in the microwave. the oven is broken & doesn't have proper controls on it. The wiring is dodgy as hell and needs to be addressed rather than running multiple multi boxes all over the place.
We only stayed because by that time no where else nearby had any vacancies.
- John (1/5): Avoid - Location was quiet and secluded. This property is not fit for letting - there are so many issues - mainly around badly-executed building work, incomplete and insecure installations, loose kitchen mixer tap, very unclean shower enclosure, and a window that couldn't be securely closed. Some electric points did not work, the headboard was draped in an old curtain, there was sheets of timber/kitchen surfaces and units stacked in the lounge, the carpets were dirty, and there were few items of cooking equipment. No kitchen knives.
The work undertaken has probably devalued the property. A shambles.
- Anna (5/5): You get what you pay for - Good location. 10 min walk to Oxford historic centre.
Parking within 5 min walk We were looking for the right door, had to guess what apartment it was, as there were many other key lockers.
The flat is tiny, but can be easily converted into a cosy space, just needs some refurbishing. TV wasn’t working, why not just take it off at all? The cleaning was very basic, dust was everywhere. But in general, you couldn’t expect something spotless for this price.
- 69caroline (6/5): Enjoyed my stay at this apartment - easy walking distance to city centre - Location Electrical sockets
- Alicia (6/5): Pleasant - It's a relatively large and fully equipped apartment. It's not very clean, the curtains don't keep the light out, and we end up with red spots because of bedbugs!
- Raasa (7/5): Quiet apartment. That's the only good feature - Location. Quiet. This apartment could use a little renovation and cleaning. One day of work and everything would be much better. The situation does not respect the customers. You can sleep here for one or two nights, but the extra clutter and non-functional details are too much. The electrical wire connector is visible. The lampshade in use is still in the store's plastic.
- Toni (10/5): Exceptional - Fab place to stay and will stay again. Great price. Very close to the city centre. Had everything we needed. Being renovated but everything was fine. Perfect location to enjoy May Morning. Nothing
- Juan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Davide (1/5): Bad - I didn't feel comfortable, the staff was terrible and unhelpful. I tried several times to contact the property even through Booking and I was ignored
- Ryan (6/5): Property needs work. - Tv wasn’t set up. Shower didn’t work properly
- Mandy (5/5): Passable -
- Sim (6/5): As expected as i was told price reflects its undergoing renovation - Location, met expectations Pity there was a tv there but it was not setup yet that would have been good
- Petch (6/5): Pleasant - Likes. Great location, quiet, good price because of the ongoing renovation. Dislikes. Food left in the fridge and cupboards. Later than stated check in time.
- Charlotte (8/5): Very good - Had everything we needed and it was super easy to check in We just couldn’t figure out how to turn on the radiator in the living room!
- Mattias (4/5): Disappointing - The area is very nice, with two nice pubs nearby and nice walks along rivers. The walk into the city centre is nice as well. Also, the bed is nice and the building and area are nice and quiet, so it is easy to sleep well. The cleaning could have been better. Also, I didn't have any mobile coverage, which was bad since there was no wifi either.
- Valeontis (7/5): Good -
- Andrew (5/5): Passable -
- Hüseyin (1/5): Bad - he waited us 3 hours front of the door for check in and we lost time we were travelling and lost 3 hours he wasnt helfully
- Genevieve (1/5): Bad -
- Susan (6/5): Convenient, clean, comfortable bed, cheap. - Convenient for central Oxford. Comfortable bed. All facilities that we needed.
- Shahidul (2/5): Worst stay in my last 12 years. The host to greedy to advertise this unfinished property. Shame. - The apartment was a studio flat and within a security building. That's the most good part of the place. In addition, they've made some basic cleaning of the property which is good but the entire flat is just like a construction site where lots of spare parts of the property in the apartment that's really odd to see as a guest. Almost everything. The property was advertised to have a check-in time from 3:00PM but I suggested the property owner to get the keys between 6-7PM. When I called at 5:30PM that I am ready to come, the host said, they've just started to clean the property. It took an hour and half for them to make it ready. The property's heating wasn't functioning well. The electric switch was hazardous and not safe to use. The bed's behind is stuffed with broken furniture. The bed room was really tough to close. There wasn't enough towel for the toilet. And most importantly, there was no wifi.
- Paul (6/5): Cheap for a reason, but still pleasant enough and good value - Osney is a great location - only a 20-minute walk into the centre of town (even closer to the railway and bus stations), but very quiet. The flat was very restful; once inside, I didn't hear any noise at all, from outside or inside the building.
Nice cooking facilities is a big plus. While the setting is lovely, the flat itself feels cramped, cluttered, and untidy at the moment because of half-finished renovations - there are bits of furniture and unattached doors and whatnot under dust-sheets all over the place, which detracts rather from the comfort of having your own space. But I suppose that's why it's so cheap right now: it's very hard to find even a single room for less than 70 or 80 pounds in central Oxford, so to get a whole flat for 50 or so is a bargain, even if there are a few black marks against it.
There is NO WI-FI. In the modern world, that is an astonishing omission - and I would have expected it to be more prominently noted on the listing (that's on Booking.com rather than the owners; if a property is lacking a very basic amenity like this, they ought to draw your attention to it in bold print). Although I was only there less than 35 hours, I found this a huge inconvenience; and I probably would not have booked, if I'd realised. (There is no TV either....)
The water-pressure in the shower is so weak that it's barely functional - that was another pretty major drawback.
The bedroom is so small, you have to mount the bed from the end - the sides are too close to the walls for you to walk in those gaps (except on tiptoe).
- Gordon (1/5): Very bad communication regarding the keys.property was under construction, but it will rival any property Iv stayed at wh - Good location It was a building site
- Lourdes (7/5): Good -
- Stefanie (1/5): Don’t do it, absolutely awful - Good location, but that really was the only good thing There were inside doors propped against walls.
Cupboards piled up on the floor.
The sofa bed was not usable and badly stained. The oven had a dial missing and no symbols/numbers, so not possible to use.
Some electric sockets weren’t working.
The heating wasn’t working.
No hot water.
The corridor was full of old cupboards & doors.
I arrived late so had to stay, but left first thing the next morning.
Host refused to refund. Do not book! It really is very unsafe.
- Mannan (1/5): I demand to get my money back and also claim decompensation for the trouble, taxi expense and - I paid for the flat but never got the keys. The key box did not contain any key. The man from flat 5 was there and he could not help either. There was no one to help. At the end I dad to hire another guest house in Oxford. I paid for the flat but never got the keys. The key box did not contain any key. The man from flat 5 was there and he could not help either. There was no one to help. At the end I dad to hire another guest house in Oxford.
- Nigel (6/5): Accomodation is in the process of being renovated. it is small, but suited our purposes well. - Within an easy 15 minute walk of the centre of Oxford & very cost effective for our short stay. No parking available, but found a small car park a 5 minute walk away
- Morrissey (1/5): Appaling. The worst I have ever experienced. Not fit for purpose at all. - Absolutely nothing at all. No parking. No WiFi. Terrible facilities. Threadbare carpet. Woodwork stacked against walls. And in cupboard space. Advertised as a double
Room and a sofa bed but sofa bed was not a sofa bed, but a very stained sofa with a grubby sheet thrown over it.
Camp bed was completely inadequate. Was set up in kitchen linoleum floor - cold and very uncomfortable with a plastic mattress. Double room had so little space between wall and bed that there was little space to get into bed. No bedside tables, no lights. Corridor stacked with kitchen cupboards and building work. Walls paper thin - could hear neighbours pee and cough. Just awful the whole apartment.
- Margaretha (6/5): Pleasant - Close to train station and no noises heared in the night, comfy places to stay. This apartment haven't finished any construction inside the room yet, me and my friends need to deal with some stuff in the living room.
- Antonio (7/5): Cheap, clean accommodation close to the centre of Oxford - Great location, large space for the price. No tea or coffee sachets. I arrived rather late to shop, so that would have been helpful.
- Jing (6/5): Pleasant -
- Heather (4/5): Disappointing -
- Sri (6/5): Pleasant -
- Cameron (5/5): Passable -
- Toth (9/5): Superb - Easy access.
- Vivian (8/5): Very good - The apartment is under refurbishment at the moment, hence the price is heavily discounted. If all you are looking for is a bed for the night, this is a fantastic bargain - grab it while you can.
- Sudeesh (7/5): This place is perfect to rest the night after the whole tour in Oxford. - The Host priorly informed of the renovation works going on but still managed to get the room ready clean and comfortable. The accomodation is perfect for the price for resting and getting cleaned up. Due to the renovation works going on, The dust was a bit difficult situation in the hallway not inside the house. Dont expect the luxuries because its still getting developed.
- Selma (1/5): Be aware of this place since it is in a renovation and description is not correct, very low quality - Nothing in this apartment was right. The place is in a renovation which was not announced. Apartment is of very low quality and far from the city center. I would not say that apartment is located in the heart of the Oxford. Apartment was not supplied as it was written.
