• John (10/5): This has been one of my families favourite stays and it was only for 1 night. Very kind family. - Very generous and accommodating family who own the property. Provided an enhanced experience for my child that will bring great memories. The river that runs through the property attracts wildlife and it really felt like a remote rural escape for the family. We look forward to staying again, especially my daughter. There is very little to fault with this property. My only recommendation would be for rugs / mats on the ground floor to have rubberised bases as they would occasionally slip under your feet on the smooth flooring, but this is only a trivial note.

• Amahl (9/5): A beautiful, well-appointed home in the Kent countryside - This is a beautiful property, spotlessly clean and very well appointed with everything you need for a relaxed, enjoyable stay. It is very peaceful and conveniently located for exploring the coast and other attractions. We recognise this is a matter of taste, but we found the mattress excessively soft - so much so that one of us ended up sleeping on the sofa instead. Also, the eaves in the bedroom mean you spend a lot of time bent over, which I think we would have found tiresome with a longer stay.

• keira (10/5): Lovely rural location, amazing attentive hosts. - We needed a place to stay after my son was admitted to William Harvey hospital during a family holiday, as we were not local I needed somewhere for my husband and daughter to stay overnight at such short notice. I booked this accommodation fairly late on in the evening and Rachel the host contacted me to confirm everything was ok and just check in on what we needed, i.e sofa bed made up on arrival etc. Fortunately my son was discharged, but as I had only booked for 2 guests I contacted Rachel to check that she could accommodate the four of us. She was so extremely helpful and said it was no bother. We didn’t arrive until very late that evening as we were waiting for my sons discharge notes and medication, so Rachel’s husband waited for us at the end of the drive to guide us in, as it was very dark, and to make sure we were all ok. The next morning as we were leaving Rachel came out to check on us and see how my son was doing and said we were welcome back any time. We were so extremely impressed with how helpful the hosts were, and nothing was too much trouble. My only complaint is that we didn’t get to spend more time at this gorgeous property. The views are amazing and it would’ve been lovely to have been able to have taken more advantage of, especially sat outside in the private garden with a coffee or a glass of wine. 100% recommend this place and it is also in easy reach of the train or ferry to France, so also a great overnight stop off. • Emily (10/5): Wow!! What a beautiful spot!! With rambling fields behind it was so peaceful and had everything we needed. - The barn is in such a beautiful, peaceful location. Perfect for us travelling north from the tunnel. The facility were fantastic and very clean. Would definitely like to return. I have absolutely no negative things to say about the barn! It was all great 😊

The view from all around was stunning with beautiful countryside. The outside area was very private and it was a lovely area to relax. The host was also very friendly and attentive. Nothing major springs to mind as there wasn’t anything to not like.

The host and her family live nearby - lovely people and very helpful with everything. The perfect place to find some piece and quiet. None.
• Ben (10/5): The perfect relaxation stop after a long drive - My wife and I both agree that Spitfire View is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed in. There has clearly been a lot of time, effort and resource into making this place as comfortable and amenable to guests as possible. Spotless on arrival, amenities such as a hot tap, soft water and a complimentary Netflix account are a fantastic touch. The land itself is beautiful and we would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this to others. Honestly nothing. Not one thing.

In fact, we loved it so much that we are coming back in a couple of weeks on our way home ! I would love to know more about the Spitfire connection, and also some information regarding local shops, amenities etc would be really useful.

• Steve (9/5): Pristine lodge in the heart of the Kent countryside - Very clean, comfortable and spacious property in pristine condition. Bathroom on both levels. Lovely location with a table and chairs outside. Parking directly outside of the property. We loved the property. The only thing I would say is that the property is a long distance from shops, restaurants, pubs and relies on having a car or taxi. It would have been useful to have a list of the nearest shops, taxi services etc that the owners recommend.
