Guest Reviews
- Deian (10/5): Lovely stay, great communication. - Great location
- David (10/5): -
- David (10/5): The perfect stay - Excellent location
- Semley (3/5): Paid for a room that was too small. Clean . - Room was tiny. Mislead by photos on website
- Teresa (10/5): -
- R (10/5): Cosy and convenient! - Located in Keswick so was ideal for us as we did a lot of walking. Parking was easy to locate and there were a number of bays available at no extra cost. We had booked the birthday package and this was set out very nicely in the room on arrival. Hosts were always contactable and very polite, even offering early check in as our room was ready. Would definitely recommend and would be happy to stay again.☺️
- Lia (8/5): Central, clean and cosy - Great location, basic but nice and noticed personal touches Very small space, could do with extra stool
- Lisa (8/5): Lovely stay, great room and views, quiet and spotlessly clean - Lovely bright clean room, excellent little touches with tea/coffees, breakfast goodies, milk and drinks in the fridge. Great bed, really comfy and was delighted to see a bath. Fantastic views of the mountains in room 4. Much as i loved the bright room, its not so much fun at 0530 when it gets light and wakes us up as the curtains dont block out any of the light. Black out blinds would be a great addition to help guests get a full nights sleep.
Great that a few bathroom products were available as i forgot my shampoo/conditioner however the 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner wasnt great.
- Tace (9/5): A wonderful, homely guest house - The location was excellent, the room facilities were great, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches of having a basket of charging cords in the hallway if you’d forgotten yours (I had!), local info and suggested itineraries in the room, and towels and biscuits for dogs. They were kind enough to let me check in a little early and the lock boxes were really convenient. The wifi was pretty patchy and a slightly later check-out would have made for a more relaxed morning but did force me to get up and out enjoying nature!
- Kirsty (10/5): -
- Veronica (10/5): Our couples overnight stay at Shemara was a great experience! - Great location, easy check-in and we could use the allocated parking. The room does have a lovely view of the mountains. Our stay was very comfortable and enjoyable! Minor issues with the wardrobe which is also a cupboard. Having a separate clothes rail would help! However the room is well organised and we did like the use of a mini-fridge!
- HannahEBarnes96 (7/5): -
- jaimie (10/5): Very easy located in th centre - The location and the to
Was well presented and warm Nothing
- leo (6/5): - Cleaning Could be better
- David (10/5): Perfect stop while walking the Cumbria way - Great location and views. The room was well equipped with a fridge, microwave bowls, plates, and cutlery.
The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was superb. Nothing not to like
- cheryl (10/5): -
- Terry (8/5): - great location room was ok but a bit small with not enough flat surfaces to store things.
- Ryan (9/5): -
- Nicola (10/5): I would stay here again, perfect location for what we wanted to do. Lots of local restaurants and shops. We walked Catbe - Room was spacious and just what you needed for a base.
Fridge, microwave and other bits are provided.
It has been recently decorated which is lovely but there would be some final touches needed to make it perfect.
Excellent location, we visited a few local restaurants within walking distance. Unfortunately when we got there all of the car parking spaces were taken so we had to pay £12 a day.
I did message the hosts who advised that someone else must be in one of the spaces who shouldn’t be so watch out for this.
Not the hosts fault but it did put an extra expense on our trip.
The shower is not very hot even on the highest setting so I think this would need looking at.

- Holmes (10/5): Incredible location and superb accommodation - Location was excellent! Perfect for parking and the views from room 4 were incredible! Can tell the hosts go the extra mile in terms of details. The little things count and they do a superb job
- Stephen (10/5): We will definitely be back, Shemara was amazing, we had a great time! - Location is amazing great access to all facilities and getting out into the wider area
Great on site parking
Room was amazing, views are second to none! Nothing, it was great!
- David (10/5): Best place we’ve stayed in Keswick! - Brilliant location, fantastic facilities and gorgeous presentation. Nothing all brilliant.
- Kirsty (9/5): A home from home with stunning views. - Very homely, clean, spectacular views from the window and the centre is literally a stones throw away. Nothing we didn’t like
- Vicki (9/5): - Very welcoming! Wetherspoons was across the road so was quite noisy - had to close the window
- Josie (9/5): Loved our last minute break to the lakes. Perfect location, perfect views and comfortable stay. - The location was perfect and communication with the property hosts was excellent. The room was a great size and was clean and comfortable. The only thing I could say would be the shower wasn’t very warm however this would not put me off staying here again. We will be back without a doubt. We were gutted we only booked two nights.
- Joe (10/5): Our stay was very comfortable and convenient, the location made exploring the Lake District and Keswick nightlife very e - The location was excellent, the facilities are good, easy to control temperature, great views, good parking
- Chloe (10/5): One of the best places we have stayed in Keswick - Amazing location with everything in walking distance. The owners were lovely and you can tell how much work they are putting into the place. Fab little extras in the room and absolutely love the fact they give you an itinerary for how they would spend 2 days in the Lakes! Free parking outside of the apartment was an added bonus. We will definitely be returning in the future.
- Karolina (8/5): - Perfect location for exploring Keswick The water in the shower/bath didn't get super hot, but it was still a comfortable temperature
- Karen (10/5): Great place in Centre of Kewsick q - Great location and parking
- Amanda (8/5): Great location and facilities - The bed was very comfortable, with good quality linen, enjoyed the little treats left in the fridge. The room had great views of the mountains. Liked the car parking. All the facilities were good. I would stay here again. The general appearance from the outside. Dirty window and steps. We did have a problem getting into our room as bookings.com hadn't sent a code. The owner was great and helped.
- David (9/5): - Comfortable and clean. Great location for exploring Keswick as only took a minute to get to the square. Parking was easy as well No negatives
- Anthony (10/5): - Everything the room was well above expectations Nothing
- Becca (10/5): 100% be back amazing stay couldn’t fault anything - Everything - upon our stay we had great communication with the hosts. Location fantastic - parking a bonus. And the spec to which the property has been finished in is amazing. Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Great stay excellent property! - Spacious, good views and nice beds. Near to the town centre but not noisy. Prefer carpet in rooms.
- Kari (8/5): -
- Abigail (10/5): -
- Jacqueline (9/5): - Room was excellent, bathroom beautiful, both kept in pristine condition.
Thoughtful additions in the room.
Host was very helpful.
Great location, beside cafes and shops, beautiful walks and public transport close by. A suggestion would be an extra curtain panel on the window to provide blackout in the room.
It wasn't a problem for us, its just a suggestion.
- Paula (7/5): - The location was perfect and the extras for the dog were welcomed. Small room, nor the cleanest, stuffy room too.
- arron (10/5): -
- Wilson (8/5): -
- Bogdan (7/5): - The host takes care of the cleanliness and equipment of the room. There was an unpleasant smell of sweat in the room. It was very difficult to open the window. The room was definitely too small for a bunk bed. A rug or mat on the floor would be useful
- Linda (9/5): Great town to visit, excellent location including parking - Great location, smart room including fridge containing useful items: Nothing
- Andrew (10/5): - Great location Shower was abit poor
- Christopher (10/5): Very quiet guest house and room. - The location was perfect for walking into town. Everything was fine. I found it weird that we never seen the owners or the staff.
- Taylor (9/5): -
- Claire (9/5): - The location was ideal, especially the view. With easy access to the local shops, restaurants and bars. Bed was comfortable. Facilities were excellent, parking was spot on. Would recommend to anyone wanting to explore the keswick.
- Anthony (8/5): Room with a view, excellent location. - Location, and spacious room. Shower could have been better.
- Colin (10/5): Fantastic stay as always, our favourite place to stay in Keswick with our dog Jack!! - Everything, clean, comfortable and very friendly Nothing
- Tim (10/5): Lovely - Great
- Myroslav (10/5): -
- Robin (8/5): Very lovely room, - Lovely bed, very nice bathroom. Really enjoyed the breakfast bar with Mountain View’s. There was no hot water but the host was able to get this fixed within two hours so wasn’t a major drama. The room also smelled slightly of dog but that’s to be expected in a dog friendly room.
- Emma (10/5): -
- Rachel (2/5): Uncomfortable! - Location. Bathroom plumbing very smelly which infiltrated into bedroom.
Very cramped/small room so no space to sort out kit for event.
Very clear owner didn’t want any interaction from check-in/out/private signs no check everything ok. Felt very unwelcoming.
Breakfast was a mini box of cereal left in room (good job I brought my own).
Mini fridge made noise all night, not ideal the night before or after a race as got very little sleep. Couldn’t turn it off as I needed the milk for my measly breakfast.
- Keith (7/5): -
- Neil (7/5): - We really liked the bay window with maintain view. Bed was very comfy. Location was excellent. Dogs were very welcome.
- Colin (7/5): -
- Anthony (10/5): brilliant - grate place to stay I will highly recommend it everything
- Lorraine (7/5): Had a lovely time and slept well in the comfy bed. - Great location. The room had lots of space and two big windows with great views and everything was nice and clean. Could have been a bit warmer to make it a bit more comfortable.
- Emir Alp (10/5): -
- Karen (8/5): -
- Lorraine (10/5): Very happy with stay, would go again - Very spacious room, very comfortable, great locating.. owners lovely Shower was slow, water only lukewarm..

- Tara (8/5): Lovely town definitely worth a visit - Excellent location We choose small room and was small but very clean
- Jason (7/5): Enjoyed - Location Property was fine but a bit cold probably due to the weather
- Adrianna (10/5): - Great location, beautiful views of the fells from dual aspect room. Very well appointed room, modern decor, comfortable and quiet. Nothing.
- Craig (1/5): -
- Jamie (10/5): Great. - 100% will stay again. Location is perfect. Parking right outside the door and the little touches in the room were great after a long day. I didn’t like that I wasn’t staying longer.
- Karen (8/5): Great location and nice room. - Great location and lovely Mountain View’s.
Fridge in room with fresh milk, water & also a microwave in our room.
Lovely and warm once we turned the radiator up.
Super kingsize bed. There are some renovations going on so a skip was in one parking spot and 2 work vans parked when we arrived, despite this we did manage to get a parking spot outside. Some noise on arrival due to works ongoing. A very large camper van also parked outside which made accessing the steps to the front door difficult but great that parking is available if you are lucky to secure a spot.
Shower not hot enough and poor pressure.
- Marshall (1/5): - Didn't stay in the guest house well if you could call it that absolutely disgraceful our room was no bigger than a broom cupboard .the appearance of the place was shocking unkempt. very dated . Really needs to be inspected by inspectors . Wasn't git for purpose.
- Martin (9/5): - A delightful room with the promised mountain view. No issues at all. Great location in Keswick. Right near the shops, river etc. A great stop off.
- Jimmie (9/5): Great Value In The Centre Of Keswick - Very clean and comfortable. Located in the centre of Keswick with free parking. Nothing.
- carol (6/5): -
- Grice (10/5): - Ideal location, lovely owners, room nice and clean would definately stay again.
- Colin (10/5): -
- Lauren (10/5): - Everything 👍 Nothing
- Becky (10/5): Lovely little guest house amazing views of the mountains and great location right near to Keswick town. Bed very comfort - The views and location
- Rosanna (10/5): Great value for money with breathtaking views right in the centre of Keswick, would definitely stay again! - The window view was absolutely stunning and we liked having the little window seat to look out at it. Nice comfortable bed and thoughtful complimentary drinks in the fridge :) The whole place smelt lovely too, nice candles, sweets and dog biscuits in the hallway! We booked this last minute (an hour before check in time) and the host was helpful to get us in on time, great communication x We had a lovely stay, if we had to be a bit nit picky the shower was a bit small and the head was a bit floppy too, but overall very happy :)
- rachel (7/5): -
- paul (9/5): - location. dog friendly
- Oxtoby (10/5): Cosy Keswick Stay - Perfect location for exploring Keswick with a very comfy bed for a good nights rest after a long day of hiking. Will definitely stay again when returning to Keswick and would recommend to friends. Nothing
- justine (9/5): -
- Irfan (8/5): -
- Chloe (8/5): -
- Olsen (7/5): Excellent views and location - Excellent location 1 minute walk to everything you needed. Lovely modern, bright, clean room with beautiful views of mountains. Nice touch having mini fridge in room with milk, water and drinks. Mattress was too hard for us and got woken up just after 8am by workmen working in rooms above us even though we did not have to check out till 10am, so not a relaxing morning we were hoping for!
- Janet (10/5): -
- Alex (9/5): -
- Janine (10/5): We really enjoyed our time there and would definitely recommend, it was a pleasure to stop there and the hosts were prof - The location was fantastic and the hosts were very helpful and the room was very clean. N/A
- Katie (7/5): - Location was great. The big window was a bit breezy!
- Helen (10/5): Lovely stay right in heart of keswick - Lovely warm comfy bed and room, decent size tv well situated so i could watch comfortably in bed, little fridge there with water, a beer, juice and fresh milk
- John (7/5): Lovely 2 days and nights in a wonderful town with absolutely stunning scenery and facilities. - We very much liked our host, who has a very welcoming and hospitable manner. There was building work being done in parts of the property about which our host apologised and afforded us a late departure time due to some noise being made around breakfast time on our 1st morning. The work did not affect us in any other way. We were in a small bunk room which was well equipped with small fridge, kettle, TV and was adequately heated. Shower room good. Lacked enough space for a chair to relax on whilst in the room, so need to use the bunk beds. Probably better for younger, fitter people than us, but no fault of the hosts. Pictures of the bunk room would have been useful for us to know in advance. Last part of above.
- Brandon (10/5): -
- Joanne (9/5): - Great location. Easy check in. Water and milk in fridge. Room very hot despite window wide open. Pillows a bit soft. If you are tall, feet catch the foot of bed!
- Daniel (9/5): Shamazing - Central location, comfortable bed and pillows, view from the bay window has to be seen to be believed. Nothing to dislike
- Diane (8/5): Great stay, lovely hosts - It was very central. Matty & Victoria had thought of everything from mini fridge with welcoming drinks, coffee/tea/biscuits, toiletries. It’s in a great location close to all the shops, bars & restaurants
- Tom (10/5): -
