Guest Reviews
- Noffke (9/5): Excellent little place with everything you need - What a great place. Didn’t need to bring anything or worry. Everything was there I got stressed when the door lock battery died. Luckily I got hold of the owner and she said she would organise to fix it.
- Tina (1/5): Bad - We can’t review Beach Retreat as when we arrived at 4.00pm we could not access the unit. After trying for an hour to get in and try to contact the host, we made the decision to go elsewhere as we had a family function to attend.
Maybe next time……
- Jones (2/5): We tried to make the most of it. But as the surprise birthday get away that I had planned for my husband, it was quite d - The bed was comfortable
There were plenty of towels and pillows
The washing machine and dryer was great to have especially with two little ones. I had to clean the washing machine and dryer as they were both really dirty
There’s mould in the shower,
The couch was incredibly uncomfortable
It was very difficult to find the place as the photos are quite misleading and when we tried to call the given number for help no one answered and we tried several times over the 45mins it took us to find it.
We never received a call back.
- Lynne (8/5): Very good - Close to the beach & shops, restaurants. Good bus services.
Comfortable bed & hot showers It's under the flight path, so it's a bit noisy . This is to be expected when so close to the airport .
- Anthony (9/5): Superb - Great location and host was very responsive. Enjoyed our trip thank you.
- Claire (1/5): Awful - Nothing We felt like the description and photos of this property was misleading , we found it to be dirty and smelly inside and very untidy outside. The shower kept running cold every 30 seconds or so which was why we actually left after a few hours and found ourselves alternate accommodation at our own cost . I have requested at least a partial refund but have not had a response.
- Ruth (5/5): Great location. Ok place. Access to a pool. - Great location Construction work was unexpectedly happening while we were there. This was loud and intrusive. Also the coffee machine was out dated and the inside is much more old and worn than is evident from the pictures.
- Deb (8/5): Very good - How close it was to the beach and great wifi How hard it was to get to the pool
- Jessica (7/5): Good -
- Arwen (6/5): Good facilities for cooking and washing.Good location although directly under the flight path so noisy. - Clean and good kitchen
Good laundry facilities Bed was hot and uncomfortable
Sofa bed was so hard my daughter stayed elsewhere (with her grandfather). We are from Henley beach originally and needed 3 beds to stay in so this was quite a disappointment
- Ian (5/5): Passable - Run down No atmosphere
- Mario (4/5): Great location that’s about it, everything else was just average. Wouldn’t stay here again. - Location was great It smelled bad, the bed sheets pillows and towels need to be upgraded
The couch was very uncomfortable
- Wray-mccann (7/5): Affordable stay close to the beach - Great location. Good to have washer and dryer. Easy access and locking with code. Some noise from neighbours in late/early hours. Shower alternated from hot to cold. No dishwasher tablets - would have been good to use the dishwasher.
- Heidi (10/5): Great value for money - Comfortable, clean and affordable. Great location
- Sandy (1/5): Booked for 3 nights, stayed 1 due to state of rooms. requested refund and no response - The room smelt like cigarette smoke, mould in the bathroom and bedroom. No linen for the 3rd person to sleep on Sofa Bed. Doors did not shut properly internal, and external door has no safety chain.
- Wendy (7/5): Was a great stay close to everything we needed for the trip - Location Place could do with a paint to freshen up
- Keith (8/5): comfortable. easy park. only stayed to sleep. visiting family. -
- Danielle (4/5): Stay was ok - That it had washing machine and dryer Still rubbish in Bins hair on bedding and also rubbish in bed wasn’t sure what it was but made my night sleep unsatisfied
- Michelle (7/5): Good -
- Mina (9/5): Superb - Room was clean and comfortable.
- Baksheev (1/5): Bad - Nothing, wrong advertising, the room u are showing its not the room in the apartment
Bed was against the wall no pillows, cupboards were opened no doors
Lounge was so small just covered.
With a sheet,furniture was old .
Not fit to rent,a disgrace, From February 18th to March 18th they have Fringe festival going on so this could b the reason
Why they renting Airbnb.. We did not stay so I cannt tell u how
Comfortable the bed was,
I know I wouldn't sleep in that bed.
It was some body's unit,
Out side they had shoes.etc etc,
Don't want to talk again, so disappointed
KNIGHT before Funeral,No dinner, spent money on Taxis,$57.07 from Airport ,$41.00 dollars to drive around to look for another place to stay.
Plus $395.90 for the room.
Iam so hurt and disappointed.
- Mary (6/5): Pleasant - Location Shower: the temperature kept going cold. The furniture in the lounge and dining rooms was not in the least bit comfortable.
- Nerida (4/5): I would not recommend this property as it is not how it appears in the photos. - No coffee machine as shown in the photos was not there. Could only get SBS on the television until the next day my my partner discovered that the cables were not connected correctly. The water in the shower kept going cold which meant that you needed to turn off the water and on again in order to finish showering. No milk which is standard in every place that I have stayed and a musty smell and the old sofa needs to be replaced.
- Meredith (8/5): Overall a lovely place to stay. - Location was wonderful, a very short stroll to the beach. The couch in the living area was uncomfortable to sit on. More lounge seats would be useful.
- John (7/5): Despite some of the issues, we enjoyed the stay and would likely stay again if we come back to Adelaide. - Near the beach. Close to pier and restaurant, but not a hectic tourist area. Actual building seems a bit run down. Hot water was inconsistent, kept going cold. Room was very hot and muggy when we got there, AC worked but very uneven room to room.
- Bernadette (6/5): The shower and the stinky towels really let the place down otherwise the rest of the place was fresh clean and comfortab - Easy access and comfortable place to stay. Comfortable bed. Nice and close to the beach and restaurants not far away. The shower was terrible. It kept fluctuating from hot to cold so made showering uncomfortably and annoying. The towels smelled as if they hadn’t been hung out for hours after being washed. Very disappointing. The bottom of the shower door was dirty.
- Kuta (3/5): Poor - Nothing was worth mentioning The furniture was most uncomfortable
- Dot (5/5): Average - Most of the house clean, the shower was a bit old, needed a good clean in spots, but that comes with age in general house was pretty clean. There was a musty smell in the place, maybe because it’s closed all the time, don’t know. Couch was very uncomfortable too low to sit on. Need new one as I have back pain all all the time, so I couch to be higher and more comfortable would be better.
Ceiling fans would be a good idea as well . I would’ve liked to of use the coffee machine, but I’ve never used one. I didn’t know how to send instructions would’ve been great on how to use it.
- Vikki (8/5): The apartment was adequate but certainly not a holiday feel. - Kitchen was well equipped, space was light and comfortable. The outside space was very dated.
- Alfred (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brooke (7/5): Great location - Great location. Short walk to the beach. Plenty of good food options in the area. Free easy parking. Comfy beds. Well equiped kitchen A bit of dust around and could do with a spruce up of a couple of things, but not bad for the price
- Rox (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, Wi-Fi works well, comfortable to stay
- Lina (9/5): lovely accommodation well situated - good location stairs
- Bern (8/5): impressed - location great communication with the owner missing some basic kitchen utensils
- Scotty (9/5): Superb - Cosy little 2 beddy close to beach and amenities. Hosts were awesome would stay again if in Adelaide. N/A
- Ulrike (9/5): Superb -
- Joyce (6/5): Pleasant -
- Dianne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gordon (4/5): location reasonable, property misrepresented in the as - location One photo includes a view of the water. There isn’t one. The copy mentions a ‘balcony’. The closest there was is a public walkway. The pool is 50+m from the accommodation.
- Vidya (9/5): Fantastic!!! - It was a well-appointed property, which was quaint and homely. The place is only a short walk from the South Henley Beaches. The time we spent at the Beach, along with its most amazing sunset views was absolutely refereshing. We recommend it. Nothing of any significance to mention.
- Glenn (10/5): What a place!!!! - Thanks to the host Rosie for an amazing place to stay. Super clean, amazing beds (best night sleep ever) and location. Was able to get the best sunset photos. Thankyou. Wasn't able to stay longer....
- Mustafizur (8/5): Value for what we have spent - The location is absolutely great. 5 min walking to beach. Nice area and good neighbourhood The bed mattress was not comfortable, both me n my wife suffers from back pain. If the host replace those, it will be very comfortable and great.
- Leanne (8/5): Nice little unit, in a great spot. Would stay again! - Great location, very clean and well appointed kitchen has everything you’d need. Easy check in and flexible checkout. close to the beach and the airport. It suited our needs parent and teenager, but it might be a little small for say two couples. The bedrooms are fine but the lounge is on the small size for four adults.
- Emma (1/5): NOT RECOMMENDED - The apartment itself (inside) was clean and tidy and well presented. We left immediately after checking-in - Felt like I was in a sub-rented housing commission (government subsidised housing) - The neighbours were all peeking through the curtains watching us carry our luggage up to the apartment - We did not feel safe. After finally getting the door open, we could not get it closed (locked) without jiggling it around for 5+ minutes, and we could not call the host because there was no phone or internet connection.
The carpark (front) and clotheslines (back) is your view! Disgraceful dilapidated building, rusty dangerous, slippery stairs, difficult access with luggage, shared balcony, not as described, false advertisement, do not book! Paid $179 for one night. not even worth $79! Don't waste your time this is NOT a 'New Modern Beach Retreat'!
- Samantha (5/5): Passable - it was clean the surrounding apartments
- Toni (8/5): Great Location - The location was wonderful one block back from the ocean and 10 mins from the airport. Very coney and great kitchen. A little small but it was very cosy and super clean.
