Guest Reviews

- Banyard (10/5): Beautiful gardens, very friendly hosts, would stay there again - Contential breakfast was fruit, croissants, toast and ham & cheese. There was nothing we didn't like

- Pamela (10/5): We had a lovely over night stay and the garden was outstanding and so relaxing just what was needed. - Good continental breakfast, plenty on offer. There wasn't anything we didn't like.
- James (9/5): Nice short stay BnB for staying in Bath area - Lovely BnB just on the outskirts of Bath. The hosts are both welcoming and lovely. Great breakfast served in our room which we appreciated.
- Julian (10/5): We would highly recommend this B&B. - The breakfast was exceptional, there was a good variety to choose from fruits, cereals, croissants and toast with preserves.
A lovely relaxing room. Full of character. The hosts made us feel very welcome. We would love to return. We have had a lovely stay, and there wasn't anything we didn't like.

- maria (10/5): Great - As soon as we walked in , we received a lovely energy of quirkiness and love. What a place and the hosts were so welcoming and interesting.Great stay in a beautiful and affordable/special b&b .Thankyou so much for accommodating us for 2 nights in such a special historical place...1690...wow...felt like we went back in time.So very special and classy Nothing
- Nita (10/5): Lovely hosts and accommodations and breakfast was outstanding - It was from the 1600s
- Pauline (5/5): Unfortunately the accommodation was not what we expected from the description. - It was convenient for catching the bus to Bath. The little living room and bedroom were not cosy, and even with all the shutters closed it was very draughty, It needed curtains in both rooms. The lounge radiator was supplement by a blow heater in the hearth. The large bathroom had only a blow heater. Breakfast was in the orangery and accessed by going outside, and again, heated with a low power electric heater. This accommodation would be ok in warm weather but definitely not in December.

- Stephen (8/5): Friendly host and good location - The location was ideal. The size of the room with the sofa was good and the bed was comfy. The breakfast was lovely. The parking was a bit awkward. There were cobwebs on the centre light fitting, and the bathroom was not as clean as expected.
- Siobhan (10/5): Beautiful house, perfect Bath location, wonderful hosts - Such a wonderful hidden gem! The hosts George and Jane were so helpful, breakfast (served on the Orangerie) was plentiful and included fresh croissants, ham and cheese, toast, fruit, yoghurt and excellent coffee. The location is perfect, 15 mins bus ride to Bath and buses run till late evening. Accommodation was really comfy, warm and full of character. I can highly recommend Gather cafe in the village too: excellent food and drink. Bathampton Mill had very good cocktails too. We loved staying here and hope to return soon - the house itself is beautiful. Nothing but the stairs to the twin room bathroom would be too much for anyone with knee etc issues I think.
- Razone (9/5): Bardzo polecam szczególnie latem. - Przesympatyczne powitanie. No i Gospodyni zapominiała mi przynieść herbatę ostatniego dnia. Ale mimo chłodu w oranżerii, gdzie jadalismy śniadania, widok pięknego i zadbanego ogrodu wynagradzał wszystkie niedogodności. Ach, i dzbanek do gotowania wody - warto byłoby odkamienić :)

- Olly (10/5): Value, excellent, would come again - Everything was excellent Na
- Paul (9/5): Authentic historic house in a quaint little English village. - Beautiful old house in a quiet village. For us it was the quintessential English experience. A historic house, beautiful gardens, a quaint little village and wonderful hosts. The breakfast served was fantastic, with a wonderful view over the garden. Everything was clean and despite the age of the house, the bathrooms were modern and functional. Nothing!
- Mohnish (7/5): Nice place to stay a couple of days to visit Bath - Location is very good. Close to Bath centre with local bus service running relatively frequently.
Rooms are quirky but spacious and comfortable. The Jane Austen suite is accessed via stairs and has Separate living room c/w sofa, chairs etc and bedroom with 2 single beds. bathroom is up another flight of stairs.
View of the garden and hills is gorgeous.
Breakfast was fresh fruit salad plus, toast and croissants. All served in the Orangery. Really lovely. Parking is a bit tight if you have a large vehicle.
Local eateries are mostly pubs and the best ones have to be accessed via a toll bridge.
The chip shop is a little gem.
- Stephen (8/5): -
- Helena (10/5): An idyllic spot and a beautiful house. - A beautiful room in a delightful house with a gorgeous view across the little valley. Charming, and terribly kind and forbearing hosts. Nothing at all.

- Charlotte (9/5): -
- Jo (10/5): Fantastic, beautiful period property and excellent value for money, first class! - Fantastic period property, beautifully furnished rooms, gorgeous garden, delicious and healthy continental breakfast, pleasant and helpful owners, free parking, and very close to the city of Bath. Excellent value for money given the higher cost of basic motel type accommodation in the city itself. Perfect!
- Rachel (10/5): Wonderful host, couldnt fault the accommodation - We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Dolphin House, From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. The property itself is spotless, beautifully maintained, and full of Character true to Bath, we stayed in the Jane Austin room, so if your visiting bath to look at the regency era this is great!
The location is perfect—peaceful and scenic, yet close enough to easily enjoy all the charm and history that Bath has to offer. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and just a 10 minute bus ride to the centre. Nothing
- Maša (10/5): - Čudovita hiša in vrt. Zelo prijazna lastnika.
- Antje (9/5): -
- Ferdinand (9/5): Superb -
- Polina (9/5): Superb - Beautiful house, great breakfast in the orangery
- Dan (10/5): Exceptional - Really great sized room and amazing breakfast from lovely hosts who make you feel at home
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house. A warm welcome. Excellent breakfast.
Comfortable beds.
- Karin (9/5): Charming and very quiet. - Wonderful and tasteful large room with a fabulous view across a beautiful, well-kept garden. The location is unbelievably quiet, though you will hear guests above, if any are present. Assuming that timings are vaguely aligned, that's not a big deal. Unique breakfast location in the orangerie with view across the garden. At first glance, the bathroom - which is reached via the corridor - seemed uncomfortably small. However, the shower is large and it's unlikely that anyone will be encountered in the corridor. The house is very large and privacy is assured.
- Philip (9/5): Superb -
- Johanna (10/5): Lovely personal bed and breakfast. - Beautiful gardens and very pleasing cat. Room was great. Lovely to have a separate lounge.
- Michelle (9/5): Perfect getaway in Bath - Dolphin House was the perfect stay for several days in Bath. Located on regular public transport route it was an easy bus ride into town, or alternatively a lovely 3 mile walk along the canals into Bath. With several great restaurants/ pubs within a 15 minute walk there were options for dinner. George and Jane were lovely hosts and served an extensive continental breakfast included in the rate. Jane is a talented artist and we bought a couple of pieces of her work. The home was located in a lovely peaceful setting at the base of Solsbury Hill Everything was good, bathroom door was a little low for my husband but that is the beauty of homes of that era
- Elena (10/5): I had wonderful time at Dolphin house. Beautiful garden! High quality breakfast. Highly recommend - Great location.
- Stewart (10/5): Perfected - Our hosts were very friendly and love their property well looked after would go again It was Very clean and they were very friendly
- Samantha (9/5): Superb -
- Popacool (6/5): A quaint experience - Asolutely lovely hosts, Jill is a very talented artist and her work was all over the place. Having breakfast in the orangery was very nice. Bed was comfortable and gardens were lovely. Property is literally opposite Solsbury Lane at the base of Solsbury Hill (a la Peter Gabriel) and we also walked through a park with a sign warning about Giant Hogweed! All original line up Genesis fans will appreciate that! Up the steepest hill ever and the shops, restaurants, bus stop etc were all at the bottom. Not good for anyone with breathing or mobility problems. Room was very quaint but no extras such as hairdryer or usb ports to charge anything. Bathroom is next to the room and very small so had to shower then poke head out of door to check no-one was around then run to room. Not fun if you had a good evening and needed the loo several times either!
- Marcella (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kylie (10/5): Loved it and would come back and stay if we are ever in the area again. Thanks for everything. - Loved the room, breakfast and area. The host were lovely and we would stay again if ever back that way again.
- Elizabeth (10/5): It was wonderful -
- Leila (10/5): Immaculate - Beautiful property, amazing views and outdoor space. The bedroom and bathroom were lovely and clean and our stay was everything we had hoped. George and Jane provided us with an exquisite breakfast, kindly asking us if everything was okay and if they could do any more for us! Their hospitality and incredibly kept home made our stay truly unforgettable ☺️☺️☺️ -
- Karen (10/5): Fantastic and amazing holiday and stay at Dolphin - I like the hospitality, kindness and humbleness
of Jane and George. From warm welcome to sweet, calm breakfast, to her talented paintings, the way they guide us of each and every useful and needed info - Excellent and Fantastic!
Happy and satisfied with everything during our stay. Thank you so much! 🥰 Everything is amazing! ❤️❤️❤️
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Jane and George have a beautiful house and garden. Their advice about places to see made our trip more enjoyable.
- Ali (8/5): Very good -
- Joel (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed in the top floor Quirky accommodation, we loved how it felt like we had a mini apartment with there being a lounge, separate bedroom and upstairs bathroom. Great we had parking too.
Breakfast was lovely and Jane & George are a really nice and welcoming couple. We will definitely be back!
- Duncan (9/5): A lovely little hotel with charming hosts. - It was all lovely thank you. N/ A
- Viktor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kang (10/5): It was very friendly and beautiful and lovely couple we will love too come again :) - Very peaceful and lovely location Everything perfect
- Carlie (10/5): Perfect weekend escape to beautiful Bath house! - It was the perfect Bath escape! The hosts were the friendliest and most helpful team!
No questions were too small for them. And if their house isn't perfect enough, you also get amazing service and an insight into their creativity - they are fantastic artists with a beautiful onsite studio that made us feel like we were in a set of a vintage film!
Dolphin House will always have a special place in our hearts now, especially as we got engaged over our stay! Just perfect We wish we could have stayed longer!
- Ezgi (9/5): Superb -
- Owen (8/5): Good location, very helpful owners and lovely historic house. - Excellent breakfast and staff but, no in suite toilet as was offered. Shower was not very good. Cycled between scalding and freezing
- Kathleen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (10/5): A Georgian Gem. - We loved this Georgian property. Ideally situated to visit Bath, especially using the excellent local transport. We stayed in the upstairs Jane Austin room. This was like a private suite, with sitting room, bedroom and stairs to our en-suite Bathroom. Very comfortable beds. We chose to have breakfast in the Orangery. Lovely selection of fresh and dried fruit, plus yogurt, cereals. Fresh croissants with ham and cheese. Lovely hosts and would recommend Dolphin house. Nothing.
- Jason (10/5): Beautiful B&B - A lovely place to stay, George and Jane are warm and welcoming, the house is beautifully decorated with Jane's own paintings, she is very talented. Our bathroom was next to our room tucked under the stairs, it's quirky but does mean you get a larger room for your stay. I don't think there was anything I didn't like, if I had to pick something, I would say I would have liked a cooked breakfast option, that said the continental breakfast was lovely, you won't be left hungry that's for sure.
- Sue (9/5): A very comfortable stay with a super host and a brilliant location, close to a bus route into Bath. - Character and location Nothing!
- Josie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (10/5): Beautiful old house with lovely owners. - Lovely room in beautiful old house. Looks nothing from street but proved to be a hidden gem the minute you step inside. Beautiful gardens. Very much enjoyed our stay. Not in walking distance of Bath centre but the buses were frequent and easy into Bath.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Caroline (10/5): Lovely Stay - Lovely room, lovely host :)
- Francisco (9/5): Enjoyed it, loved it, and got to relax. - The breakfast was very nice. Jane was very kind, helpful, and welcoming. The location is amazing, as it's in a very calm and soothing part of town, as well as the backyard being very beautiful and filled with nature. Not about the house, but there aren't too many options for restaurants or grocery stores in the area, so if you want to grab a bite after 9 pm you better accept your fate.
- Garry (9/5): Superb -
- John (8/5): Very good - A real character property. Lots of charm.
- Richard (7/5): We enjoyed re-aquainting ourselves with Bath and found Dolphin House a convenient place to stay. - The continental breakfast was excellent with a good selection of fruits and cereals. The room - lounge, bedroom and separated shower room - were all very clean and it gave a 'home from home' feel. Dolphin House was close to a bus stop where buses went directly to the city centre - very convenient as driving in Bath is not a pleasure. The car parking was very cramped and with a bigger car was a little difficult as it was necessary to reverse in from a narrow road.
- Fiona (9/5): Superb -
- Mckee (10/5): Jane and George are fabulous hosts - Beautiful and traditional.
- Dawn (10/5): Lovely olde english stay - Lovely, well kept historic building. Jane was lovely and we even bought some of her artwork to bring back to New Zealand with us. We had a huge bedroom with fireplace overlooking the beautiful grounds. Our bathroom was hidden under the staircase, very cute.
- Phillippa (8/5): A nice comfortable property in a good location with fantastic hosts. - It was comfortable and retained a lot of the period finishes. It was conviniently located close to a bus stop that took you into the centre of bath in 15 minutes for £2. A very nice breakfast was provided and the hosts were very attentive. Nothing really.
- Joanne (8/5): Very good - Lovely old building with real character. Comfortable beds, a good breakfast, nice views and garden
- Alex (10/5): Perfect place to explore bath - Such a gorgeous house and garden. It’s very clean and decorated very well with gorgeous paintings. Breakfasts in the conservatory were yum! The owners are super friendly and gave us loads of recommendations in Bath and Batheaston. The walk into bath along the canal is flat and gorgeous if the bus is taking long
- Ben (10/5): Can't recommend highly enough - Jane and her husband could not do enough to make the stay wonderful.
- Sally (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (10/5): I loved everything about Dolphin House. I would stay again :-) - I loved everything about my stay at Dolphin House. The accommodation was stunning, spacious and comfortable; the setting beautiful and peaceful; the location to Bath was perfect for walking and a short bus ride into the city. Not really a dislike, just a point to be aware of. The private parking space is fine for a small to medium car however, too compact for a larger vehicle. It wasn’t a problem though as there’s ample, permit free parking along the road outside Dolphin House. My vehicle was safely parked in the same spot for three days.
- Cath (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house and garden full of the owners art.
I thought that I was getting one room but got a suite! Fantastic. Nothing
