Guest Reviews
- Ruby (10/5): Dracula room, whitby - Comfortable lodging, great decor, facilities for hot drinks. Staff went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Mad hill to the room, outside of the control of staff. We couldn't have been happier with our stay.
- Luca (9/5): -
- Sheppard (10/5): We will stay here again! - It was well appointed and very quirky! We loved the details and the overall vibe. We also appreciate the two rooms (bed/sitting) which made it very comfortable
- dawn (10/5): - Great walking location to whitby town. Bit hilly, but good exercise!Took 10 mins. Great accommodation, spooky and quirky. Lovely continental breakfast. Comfy bed. The lounge was brilliant. Lovely addition. Loads of pubs in town, needed drink once been up 199 steps to Abbey. š we will definitely be back. Parking bit tricky. But once got space all good.
- Colin (9/5): We had a lovely stay , only met host briefly. Great location . - Location was excellent , comfy bed , loved having snug to relax .Very quirky rooms . Disappointed that breakfast was continental .
Maybe selection of cereal ie muesli or granola .
Yogurts and selection of cold meat and cheese .

- Gavin (10/5): - The place has so many nice details, perfect for our Whitby trip.
The bedroom was cosy and the other room we didn't use much but also had lots of hidden details and trinkets, very nice.
The photos only show some of what you discover when there in person.
My review/feedback is late as I thought I'd done it already but only just noticed now using the app again.
Would certainly stay again when in Whitby
- Oliver (10/5): Excellent stay. Would highly recommend - The rooms were great! Well presented and full of quirky little details. The bathroom was excellent and there was lots of space, very central location, no more than a 10/15 mins walk to the centre. The bed was so comfortable and cozy. It's only a minor thing, but a sofa instead of three armchairs would have been good. But it didn't ruin the experience at all.
- Thom (9/5): A wonderful stay at a fabulous location would highly recommend -
- sharon (10/5): -
- Chloe (10/5): Amazing weekend in a amazing property Thankyou - Amazing rooms everything was so quirky!breakfast was brilliant plenty to choose from!staff were lovely when we called about checking in earlier.would a million percent recommend.location great would love to stay againš Canāt fault it in any way!
- Helen (5/5): Not terrible. - Great decorations. Loved having a fridge to put in sandwich fillers. Liked having a dinning living room, but it needed a sofa and stool to be comfortable. Only 12 degrees on arrival, heating only reached 18 even after 24 hours. Toilet flushed continuously until we found the knack of stopping it. Not enough milk for two peopleās breakfasts for two days. Lack of breakfast choices, only whole milk and white bread, no semi skimmed milk or wholemeal bread. Lack of healthy breakfast options other than enough bananas for four people. No berries or yoghurts. No choices of cereal other than unbranded corn flakes. No hot drinks options other than caffeinated tea and coffee. Not enough sugar for two days. Too many marmalades and no honey. Everything was self service but hosts knocked on door 7 minutes before 10am check out, so we felt harassed when packing last minute things and checking bags.
- Lynda (10/5): Fangtastic stay - The rooms were comfortable well thought out bed was oh so comfy just all the little details brilliant very clean There was nothing we did not like however I would like to make a few suggestions and that is in my opinion you could do with a microwave to be able to warm up the breakfast food that was supplied and maybe a choice of juices in the fridge
- Scott (10/5): Enjoyed every moment we was in the room excellent service and facilities - The property was spotlessly clean!
The facilityās are excellent, large comfortable bed, and good size bathroom with bath and shower.
The continental breakfast provided was plenty with a good choice.
Attention to detail throughout is excellent!
Didnāt see the owners but communication throughout our stay was excellent
From a text to say the room was ready to texts asking if everything was ok
Would highly recommend this property, good value for money š The only issue we had was with parking
We ended up parking in the long stay car park near the coop not far away
Please do not let this put you off!
- Frau Leschner (10/5): Es war einfach perfekt! - Die Einrichtung hat das Thema absolut getroffen: gern wƤre ich noch mindestens 1000 Jahre lƤnger geblieben. Das ich auschecken musste ;)
- Hilier (10/5): - It was all fangtastic
- Julie (10/5): - Fab spacious accommodation with separate bedroom and sitting room and large bathroom.
Left to our own devices and didn't see the hosts.
Great selection for self service breakfast.
We were fortunate to find a parking space just down the street. Mattress was rather firm for me, but that is just a personal preference.
- Maribel (10/5): Wonderful location. Great value. Lovely breakfast. A fantastic accommodation. - The location, the layout and the Dracula theme were fantastic. Great parking options. N/A
- carol (10/5): 100% Fantastic - I loved and liked every minute there šÆ % Spotless, warm, There is not one thing i didn't like
- Michelle (10/5): Spooktacular!!! - What an enchanting stay! Everywhere we turned, there was something to admire.
We especially loved the collection of books and films. The shelves of murder mysteries set in Whitby were fascinating, and the mix of filmsāfrom classic horrors to fun kidsā moviesāmeant there was something for every mood.
The whole atmosphere struck the perfect balance of spooky charm and cozy comfort.
Thank you to our wonderful hosts for creating such a unique and welcoming experience. Weāll be telling our friends all about this little gothic gemāand we canāt wait to return! š¦
- David (9/5): - Awesome spooky theme, friendly staff, and breakfast included in an adjacent lounge area all to yourself
- Monika (10/5): Great stay in Whitby - Everything. Amazing decor true to the gothic theme. We had 2 rooms actually for ourselves! Breakfast self service very good. Lovely books and games to use for the evenings. Location close to the bay and shopping and areas. Truly recommend! 2 small things. The duvet a bit too thick and maybe the kettle needs cleaning/replacing. Otherwise perfect.
- julie (10/5): Fabulous and spooky - The breakfast was great. Plenty of choices. All the facilities were fantastic. The decor was amazing. The bed was so comfortable. The rooms was lovely. We loved everything.
- Emma (10/5): Fangtastic! Little spooky haven š§š» - Absolutely everything!
Location was great (apart from the hill š)
Decor was to DIE for, bed was comfy, shower was great, theyāve thought of pretty much everything.
My partner loved the sweets š
I will say, I didnāt expect to have the whole place to ourselves! This was a really amazing surprise.
I wish we stayed long to make the most of it.
And also what was provided in the snug for breakfast, perfect! The only thing I would suggest or change, a 2 seater sofa instead of the chairs, or a little foot stool would be a god send after all the walking.
- peter (10/5): - Having a separate room for breakfast and relaxing, great supply of continental breakfast food
- brett (10/5): -
- Karen (10/5): Best sleep ever - There is so much to see,the decor is amazing and the four poster bed so comfortable it's the best sleep I've had in years ( I want one ) There was not a thing I didn't like
- Jill (10/5): Fangtastic - Brilliantly themed for the location.
Having the lounge area was amazing.
Bedroom and bathroom to die for. Nothing, could not fault it.
- Nikki (10/5): A space and experience to die for! - We loved our stay at The Dracula Rooms - the decor and the hosts' attention to detail were absolutely amazing! The breakfast that was included offered so much choice, we really felt spoilt! All the little touches and being in such a great location for exploring Whitby, we can't recommend Dracula Rooms enough!
- Kevin (10/5): Fantastic - We liked the whole experience. rooms were immaculate. And the decor was awesome .would recommend to anybody šš¼
- Nina (10/5): Exceptional - We knew we had reached the Dracula Rooms on seeing a life sized model of Dracula himself! The quirkiness and novelty continues inside with the themed rooms, so many things to look at and discover. The bedroom is a good size with a very comfy bed. The bathroom is exceptional with roll top bath and a fantastic shower. The added bonus of an extra room with TV, games and a place to have your breakfast. The breakfast is good with a wide selection of bread, croissants, pancakes, crumpets, cereal and of course tea. We loved having these rooms all to ourselves. The communication from the owners was spot on and very friendly. It is about a 5 minute walk to the town. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Whitby to stay here, we definitely would return! We loved everything š
- David (10/5): What a lovely find, very entertaining. - Location was excellent, rooms were fantastically decorated, very spacious, plenty of towels, very comfortable bed. Managed to park for free down the road. Can't think of anything!
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - Very different was good value for money and added room. A bonus Nothing
- Victoria (10/5): Brilliant - Attention to detail, clean, comfortable, great location, breakfast amazing, hosts communication by message was great Nothing
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annmarie (10/5): Amazing stay - Located within walking distance of the town in a quiet residential area. The rooms are very clean and beautifully decorated, with lots of Dracula/ horror items, more fun than scary.. The breakfast basket is very generous. The bed is comfortable, so we slept well. Bathroom is spotless. Having a separate breakfast room/lounge gives you more space. Wi-fi is a bit hit and miss.
- Lyn (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): Comfortable cosy place to stay quirky decor - The decor suited their theme it was very clean and comfortable it had everything we needed the breakfast basket and fridge was well stocked with everything for a continental breakfast spoilt for choice There was nothing we didn't like couldn't fault it we don't drive so we had to walk up which we found a bit steep but after first day got used to it
- Moyra (9/5): Loved it. - Loved the decor, very quirky. Bed comfy and large bath.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Jewsonlot (10/5): Excellent themed accommodation - It was fun themed accommodation lots of detail and little surprises tucked away in the cupboards and drawers. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well. The town bus and train station are less than 10 minutes away. Lots of eating places are near by. All in all a very good base for exploring Whitby and surrounding area
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lyons (10/5): Great hotel, great town, great scenery and best of all the Dracula connections to Whitby. Brilliant. - Everything was as expected. Clean and tidy throughout. Great decor, loved the Dracula theme .
Breakfast was a good contintental style, no complaints. Plenty of it if you were hungry.
Would recommend it to anyone visiting Whitby. No faults at all.
- Claire (10/5): Love at first bite š¦š§āāļø - The Dracula theme and attention to detail was fang-tastic. Such a fun place to stay. Would definitely recommend. Brilliant location. Thank you Could not fault a thing
- Cain1967 (10/5): Unique 0 - Unique place too stay, location 10 min walk from Whitby attractions.
Rooms so comfy and clean.
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - Dead cool Notiing
- Paul (10/5): If you love Dracula, then stay here - The rooms were much better than expected. The Dracula theme was everywhere and totally exceeded our expectations.
Everything you need for a short stay is provided, and the rooms are extremely clean and tidy. The area is very quiet and parking isnāt too bad.
I really canāt recommend this place enough.
If you love Dracula (what Whitby is known for), then this is for you The only criticism I have (and itās nothing to do with the rooms), is that itās on a hill
- Clare (10/5): Exceptional - The decor was excellent, such attention to detail! The shower and bath were great and the bed was really comfy. The breakfast provided was very generous
- Marsden (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely room decor, excellent location. Self-check in and out lead to a smooth stay. Wonderful place!
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - A fang-tastic place. You would be batty not to be enchanted and charmed by this quirky place.
Iots of choice of breakfast items to get your teeth into. Nothing, really. Parking a slight issue but found a spot down the road, around 50 yards.
- Yvonne (8/5): A fangtastic experience you must try! - In an extremely accessible part of Whitby, with excellent parking. Friendly owners who put themselves out to make sure everything was in place. Draculaās Rooms are quirky, with great attention to detail.
A fabulous weekend. Would definitely recommend for break with a difference. Because of the notice on the thermostat, and because we didnāt like to alter it, and it was a very cold weekend, we did find the rooms were a bit chilly. We got it sorted though after a conversation with the lady in charge.
- Allan (10/5): Outstanding - Everything, especially having a separate room for ourselves. Good selection of treats for breakfast. One of the nicest places I've stayed. The fact I couldn't stay longer.
- Wendy (9/5): Stunning stay - The rooms were beautiful, quirky, and comfortable. The attention to detail was exceptional. Every time you looked round, you saw something new. We would definitely recommend and visit again. Could have been a bit warmer in the lounge. We ended up taking the duvet off the bed to sit and watch tv
- Craker (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was so tastefully decorated.
A lot of thought and effort has been put into the decor of Dracula Rooms .
Was spotlessly clean, smelt, beautiful, and fresh.
Plenty on offer for breakfast.
Highly recommend to anyone to stay here.
If I could have fit the bed in my bag to bring home I would have š¤£š¤£ Nothing
- Maria (9/5): Superb - the room was amazing we loved the dracula theme . nice location for everything. the only thing was that rooms were cold at night as sign said refrain from putting central heating on as it was on a timer.
- Sharon (9/5): Superb -
- Jack (9/5): Fang-tastic Stay! š§āāļøš§āāļø - The staff were friendly and helpful with answering any queries we had. This property was at a great location, only minutes from the centre of Whitby but just enough distance for it to not be too loud at night, from the noise of the local pubs etc.
The room we stayed in was incredibly clean and tidy, with the available facilities and features being of a high quality (especially the shower, bath and bed). It was really nice that breakfast items were made available for us too, at no extra charge.
Finally, the 'Dracula' theme of the property was very tastefully done, nothing tacky or over the top, just the right amount of memorabilia to provide that Gothic feel with a touch of class. This isn't so much a negative point, but we did feel that a kitchen sink, tap and microwave in the main room would be helpful for preparing some warm food and for cleaning cutlery, plates etc. However, given the layout of the property, this may not be a possibility.
Also, the location of the property on Google Maps is incorrect by several streets. However, this of course isn't necessarily the fault of the owners.
Other than that, all good!
- Alan (10/5): Absolute gem of a place - large space , attention to detail , clean and comfortable.
whole floor of a house to yourself
mini fridge kettle toaster
close to centre
would 100% stay again I liked everything about the stay but as a note,
parking is tight on the outside streets, I parked in the long stay by the harbour couple of minutes walk which was no problem.
google maps shows a different location so use the address given on email.
- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- Michelle (10/5): 2 night stay - the whole place the little hidden gems there was nothing we didn't like .
- Debra (10/5): Exceptional - The extra space and comfort

The bed in our room. was amazingly comfortable and facility wise it contained everything we might need.

- Anita (10/5): Had an amazing two days in Whitby and this property contributed very much to that - This property was amazing. I've stayed in accommodation all over the UK and the world, this has to beat them all from hostels through to the big corporates. Waking up with bite marks on my neck!
- Karen (10/5): It was a fab theme and not too overdone. Amazingly comfortable. - Location was great. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Loved the lounge area and the humour shown in the themed decor. Breakfast pack was brilliant but could have done with more milk on the 2nd day which we didn't think to buy..
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Great themed accommodation, over the top in the best possible way!
- Derek (10/5): Best place to stay in Whitby - The rooms were very clean and comfortable, aswell as being very unique making the stay very memorable. We will be looking to book the rooms again in all future stays in Whitby
- Tindamyers (10/5): Dracula Suite stay - The ambience and the Dracula theme of the suite is exceptional.
The facilities are top quality.
A beautiful four poster bed and roll top bath truly set the scene.

- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - It was great quirky and close to town Nothing
- Graham (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samantha (10/5): High quality and fun accommodation - loved it! - We loved the Dracula Rooms. It was very fun and cosy. All furniture and fittings were good quality. Very clean (I'm quite fussy normally!). Hosts were attentive. Breakfast was plentiful. Would stay again! We loved everything so this is a very minor complaint. In the living area there were three comfy seats for watching TV. The pair of seats next to each other were quite small - would have loved bigger seats/a sofa instead!
- Ryan (10/5): Excellent stay. - Great stay at Dracula Rooms. Quirky features are unique & fun, everything is done to a really high standard. Breakfast options were great, bed was huge & comfortable and both the bathtub & shower were excellent. Comms from the hosts were also clear & very helpful. Would recommend & plan on staying again in future myself!
- Neil (9/5): Our second visit and wonāt be our last - Quirky spotless rooms, facilities and central location N/a
- Mac (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely amazing quirky place excellent value would highly recommend Nothing
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - The room was incredible. Detail to the theme superb Perfect
- Andrea (10/5): Really lovely stay had a great couple of days - It was very comfortable and welcoming The attention to detail with the decor was amazing
- Charlotte (10/5): A memorable stay at a lovely bnb! - I loved the decor and attention to detail, it was so cosy and fun! The breakfast was a lovely touch as well, we were well fed! It was a short walk into town as well which was great, we found it easy to park on the street.
- Wendy (7/5): Good - Well decorated, furnishings comfortable, easy short walk to and from station, town centre and everything we wanted to visit. Good communication from hosts. Clear instructions about entry. The room was really cold when we arrived. (This was about 5pm, apparently the heating was coming on at 6). It got warmer in the evening but the next day when we came back in the afternoon it was cold again. The host advised turn it on but we didn't know how to work the thermostat. Once we got some help with this it was lovely and warm.
- Carol (10/5): Quirky stay - The attention to detail around the dracular rooms is amazing, plenty to see around you. Having a separate loving room was a definite bonus.
- Sean (10/5): Best experience weāve had in Whitby and we have had some good ones. - We booked this expecting something a little different and it totally delivered. Itās quirky in all the right ways. Really couldnāt fault a single thing and put the biggest smile on our faces when we walked in. Its Dracula theme is everywhere but in the best way. Every draw and cupboard has a funny nod that just keeps you smiling. Beautifully presented, with a great en suite bathroom and to cap it all your own lounge across the landing. If you love Whitby just go!! Parking awkward but donāt let that put you off.
- Allan (5/5): Very disappointed - Decor was amazing on the surface it looks amazing. There was No light to be able punch in code for key, The door to the property wouldnāt open, we rang the owner who said to kick door hard it swells when raining, it was very cold inside the heating wasnāt on when we arrived at 4.30 I would have thought it would have been on already in December. Again rang owner who said it was on a timer to come on at 6 and gave us complicated instruction on how to reset it to come on at 5, we couldnāt do it and sat in wet coats until 6.30 when the place started to warm up. No curtesy reply from owner to see if we were ok. Breakfast was a mishmash of crumpets, pancakes, bagels individual jam sachets etc all in plastic packaging, no complimentary toiletries, however plenty of used bottles of radox, shampoos etc probably left by passed visitors. I really wanted to be able to say good things however to many disappointing aspects of our stay to be able to do that. We paid for 2 nights and stayed for 1 couldnāt sit in the cold any longer.
- Petrina (10/5): Fantastic! Gutted itās already booked up next year for our wedding anniversary. - Quirky, unique, lovely and comfortable.
- Lynne (10/5): Comfortable, spoiled, ridiculously happy with all. - I absolutely love this place. We expected room only and got a suite with enough food not to need to eat out for breakfast any day. Kevin ans Sarah, who own, kept in touch a perfect amount if times and Emma, who looks after the rooms, was so friendly. We're setting up a rolling booking and have already locked in next year. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Absolutely nothing. Perfect.
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional -
