Guest Reviews
- Nicola (10/5): Great overnight stay - Good location, lovely & comfortable room. Very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Had everything we needed. Room had air con. We stayed in room 1. If I had to find something not to like, the only thing I could say was the road noise when the windows were open as we overlooked the main road.
- Christina (10/5): Convenient, lovely accommodation near the SWCP. Excellent service! - Beautiful linens and perfectly designed bath. Many little touches of comfort with in the room such as cookies, tea, coffee and bottles of water. In the morning they made us breakfast sandwiches to take away. Every staff member we encountered was helpful and immediately responsive. Not a thing
- David (7/5): Very clean and comfortable.good breakfast.good value for money for the area - Clean and comfortable Noise from street
- Lisa (8/5): Lovely long weekend, good position to explore the area, plenty of pubs, bars and restaurants close by - Great location, generous room size, quality fixtures and fittings, comfortable, very clean. Breakfasts included were fabulous. Water pressure in the shower could have been better. A concession on the car park opposite with in/out freedom would be preferable, as owned by the same people. Became expensive very quickly, we ended up using Caen St car park 3 minutes’ walk away, where a daily charge worked out better value for money
- Mark (10/5): Lovely room and lovely breakfast - Location and comfortable No parking
- Sören (8/5): -

- Sandra (10/5): Very comfortable and tastefully appointed - The room was very comfortable and tastefully appointed and the shower room was excellent.
POD coffee machine and biscuits were a nice welcome.
Had dinner in SQ10 which was really nice and the staff were excellent.
Breakfast across the road in SQ10 was also excellent with lots of choices. The road noise was a slight distraction but not a real problem.
- Steve (9/5): - Clean, comfortable and convenient property in a perfect location for me for a short stay. N/A
- Mark (9/5): - Bed was so comfortable. If you’re going to be picky there’s no driving range next door. Nothing is wrong with it. Lovely place
- Sally (10/5): Loved staying here. A bit of luxury on our walk. Right next to the best fish and chip restaurant ever as well - Absolutely amazing apartment. Very modern and clean. Bed was huge and so comfortable. Shower was amazing Nothing
- Sasha (10/5): A fabulous stay will definatly return sometime soon. - It’s a great location and reasonably priced what’s not to love. N/A
- Steve (9/5): Perfect for a quick overnight stay. - Great facilities in a brilliant location. Nothing
- Caroline (10/5): Luxurious stay we would 1000% stay again! - Exquisite room and facilities. Bed was ultra comfy and lined was quality. The shower room was perfect and loads of little incites provided.
Restaurant food was brilliant breakfast was included but also offered discount for other meals More our problem because we like to sleep with the window open but being in the main road was a little noisy At times
- Sharon (10/5): Wonderful - Everything was top class from the location to the beautifully designed room to the wonderful breakfast. Highly recommend.

- Mark (10/5): - Lovely immaculately clean room,, with high quality fittings and the bathroom and shower were amazing. Easy access without having to meet anyone, and breakfast was at the restaurant just a cross the street, which itself is a great venue with lovely staff. Rooms not overly big, but OK for a couple of nights stay, but as I said, the rooms were lovely and well equipped, so not a real negative
- Jo (10/5): Lovely relaxing one night stay. - Very clean and cosy. Bed was super comfy!
- Ursula (10/5): A very enjoyable stay - Breakfast very good with a good choice, location good as in town center Just a bit picky, I found the pillows too soft, much prefer firmer ones.
- barrie (7/5): Suited our need - Deally located for our requirements The bedroom was facing the main road and there was traffic noise
- Simon (9/5): -
- Julie (10/5): Sleep Squires totally deserve the exceptopnal rating!! - The room was beautifully decorated, the bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in, the bathroom was also superb. Everything you could possible need was there and a wonderful breakast too!
- Denise (10/5): Another Fabulous Stay - I love staying here. Immaculate. Super comfy superking bed and really quiet . Convenient .
- richard (10/5): Relaxed with exceptional breakfast options. Well run family businesses. - Well maintained Central location
- Tracey (10/5): Excellent accommodation - Good quality finish, super clean. High-end bedding. Good location. Breakfast was excellent 👌 Nothing
- Vanessa (10/5): - The decor was beautifully finished the bathroom was large and smartly finished
The finishing touches with the bathroom accessories and the hot drinks tray with coffee machine and high end condiments. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and bedding was high quality thread cotton. The shutters blocked out the light and the windows silenced the busy road outside.
The choice of restaurant next door and opposite side of the road were smart and exceptional value for money.
I had breakfast included and this was cooked to perfection. Nothing about the room, maybe a shelf to place wash bathroom items inside the shower. The car park opposite, please advise the owner to change the operator, a frame with poster and laminated A4 prints, not even BPA compliant, caused so much confusion. Many customers complained, ruining the custom for the fish bar opposite
- Carole Burt (10/5): Our stay was excellent and we would definitely use the same place to stay - The breakfasts were very good with a lot of choice
As a location you can reach many places easily I cannot think of anything we didn’t like
- Lee (10/5): Perfect in every way i needed - It was a pleasure to stay at this property. Everything was just right and made my trip a great experience. Not really didn’t like but I had to skip one breakfast as my golf tee time at saunton was 9.30. No big issue.
- Paul (10/5): Perfect place for a short break - The interior design of the bedroom and bathroom are outstanding. Very modern style and high quality materials making the place feel luxurious. Visited Squires Fish Restaurant for fish and chips, which were the best. Breakfast in the SQ restaurant was equally outstanding. All the staff are friendly, kind and totally customer focused. Our whole experience couldn’t have been better. Thank you so much. Nothing.
- David (10/5): Relaxed and accommodating - Excellent polite staff , food was wonderful Nothing

- Pat (8/5): An excellent stay, would use it again. - Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Plenty of coffee, tea and milk. Bed was lovely. Good shower and bathroom facilities. The road was noisy but we chose to have windows open so not a fault of the property.
Automatic bathroom light coming on when going to bathroom in the night very bright. A manual switch would be better so you could 'go' in the dark and not be woken by the light.
- Karen (8/5): Lovely accommodation would stay again once parking sorted. - Lovely comfortable room , breakfast was also lovely. No real Parking provision and when we asked when we arrived we were told he did not know about parking . Being disabled that was a bit awkward for me.
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely Place, very east check in and close to everything you need for a nice stay including a fantastic fish restaurant - booking advised it gets busy. Breakfast was amazing. Nothing
- Sanjay (10/5): Amazing - Very central, clean and very comfortable
- Bruce (9/5): Extremely comfortable and clean, thoroughly enjoyed the stay, linens and bed very very nice, - Breakfast beautiful, amazing
Location, busy but made it easy because we knew where you were Parking facilities, a permit provided for opposite car park would have really helped to relax things
The shutters, although very very nice did let in a lot of light
- Carl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nigel (10/5): Excellent value for money - Room was super quiet, despite overlooking a main road.
Room size was generous, not large, but not tiny like some other B&Bs
The attached fish-and-chip restaurant was excellent [ice-creams for desserts super nice].
The breakfast was excellent The coffee machine in the room probably needs upgrading.
The breakfast could have started a bit earlier.
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (9/5): Superb -
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dermot (7/5): Good -
- Justin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hulley (10/5): Excellent accommodation! Highly recommend. - Beautiful accommodation, tastefully decorated to a very high standard. Extremely comfortable with a few little nice touches. It was very easy to collect keys on arrival. Fantastic experience from start to finish. I called and spoke with Jane (I think that was her name) in any case, she was lovely and very helpful when I first arrived. Breakfast at the SQ bar opposite was exceptional, again good quality food and great service. I wish we had more time there to sample an evening meal in either their fish restaurant or the SQ bar and restaurant opposite. Maybe next time, I hope we get to stay again. Only a slight niggle, better signage required because it's easy to miss the "doorway" up to the apartments. However, I should've checked my emails for direct instructions because there were clear directions included. Not a problem really, it's just because we were in a rush and needed to drop bags and go.
- Oyin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (4/5): Were it not for the traffic noise, would be happy to stay again. - Location, room and breakfast all good. Traffic noise unbearable and unable to sleep. Windows need double glazing!
There are what look like poo stains on the floor by the toilet brush: either that or the area wasn't properly cleaned.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic place. Lovely shower and beautiful towels. Bed comfy and all spotless. Staff even personally delivered t bags at 9pm as run out. Wish the breakfast could be served earlier
- Denise (10/5): Lovely Quiet Comfortable Stay. - Lovely. Great location. Superb bed .
- Emer (10/5): Would definitely recommend Squires - Breakfast was excellent! Great location and great service. Would definitely recommend. Nothing
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent in every way Nothing not to like
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jill (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely room, comfortable large bed, spacious bathroom.
- Rachel (9/5): Lovely room - Beautifully decorated. Shops were noisy in the morning.
- Dinah (8/5): A fabulous b n b; if I’d been proactive when booking and asked about the car park location I’d have given 5+***** - It was superbly furnished and decorated; porcelanosa bathroom fitments, a very comfy bed, exceedingly welcoming and helpful host It took me a while to find items such as USB sockets, plug sockets near a mirror and accessible clothes hangers!
I should have mentioned when booking that I have mobility issues exacerbated by anxiety, and I didn’t like the light sensor in the bathroom but when it switched on I froze, thus waking my husband. I also found crossing the road from the car park difficult.
- Frank (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts have 2 restaurants adjacent to the rooms and offer a 10% discount in the restaurants. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom has lights that are motion activated. I didn’t like that during the night.
- Matt (10/5): Lovely Central Apartment - great staycation location - High-quality room and fittings. Comfy bed with nice touches such as bottled water and Nespreso coffee machine. Ensuite is nice and large with a high end walk in shower installed.
Central location.
Breakfast in the morning is fab to. Some people might not like the fact that there's no on site parking but remember this is a smaller Devon village. There is a well maintained and set out public car park directly opposite though where you can pay cash/card/App which is £8 for 24hrs which isn't going to spoil the stay.
- Pauline (10/5): Short, sweet and very comfortable - Modern with lovely interiors, beautiful bathroom and a great shower! Very comfortable bed and beautifully dressed. There was nothing to dislike
- Jessica (10/5): Such a lovely well kept clean place we will be back for sure thank you - the bed was a Dream we had such a good sleep everything was Perfect
