Guest Reviews
- Nicolla (6/5): Pleasant, thank you. - Location. Washing machine and dryer was handy. Body wash/products in the shower were considerate. Lots of towels. There were huge flies everywhere the entire time. Over 20 flies inside over the 2 days we were theft. Could be a need for pest control.
There was also a bottle cap with chewing gum right beside the bed..
Couldn’t check in before 2pm, seemed unwilling to work with that, even well in advance to even leave bags due to a flight change.
- Belinda (8/5): Thanks was great - Only peppermint tea. A few more times like a small milk and tea bags would be lovely and pod coffee machine even better
- Breanne (8/5): - Great location, outdoor area is lovely, comfortable seating
- Ben (10/5): I only wish it could have been a longer stay. - Location, amenities, proximity to great reastaurants, coffee shops and light rail, a comfortable bed.
And Neil was a terrific host, easy to deal with and a great communicator. Everything about the experience was ideal!
- Wendy Lee (10/5): - Good location
- Leigh (8/5): - Cute cottage in a great location. Extremely hard pillows and mattresses. Info on parking in description would have been appreciated.
- Anne (5/5): Disappointing physical condition but we made the best of it.we made the best of it. - Cuteness, handy location. Comfortable beds, ample bed linen. Poor cleanliness:Mould in Shower recess grout; unwashed grill tray;lack of air conditioning; no TV reception and poor connection to apps, eg Netflix. Needs a professional deep clean.

- Ellie (9/5): Very enjoyable stay. - Loved this quaint cottage and the close proximity to John Street Square station, the waterfront, shops & restaurants. It was clean and comfortable. Fans were on ahead of our arrival. Great communication from the host. Hard to find on arrival. An air conditioner would be wonderful.
- Ian (7/5): -
- Bruce (9/5): Comfortable, convenient and full of charm. - Location, ambience, comfort TV reception
- Chrissy (10/5): - Clean & tidy, great location.
- Daryl (10/5): Excellent accomodation in a great area. Will stay again. - The property is well kept and has great amenities.
- Linda (9/5): Good place to stay, close to restaurants and venues. - Location was easy to get to. The little house had everything we required. It was close to the Lyric Theatre and the water front. The outdoor areas could have been cleaner. The television was difficult to use with no instructions.
- Alexis (8/5): Easy - Great location No parking
- Noni (8/5): The stay was excellent and comfy, would definitely stay again when we visit Sydney. Thanks to Neil who hosted us. - The location was amazing, easy to get around and about. Just a bit tricky to find the house. The house number should be different paint colour than a door bar.
- David (10/5): - Great location, great price and very comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again anytime.
- Katrina (7/5): Good stay - Location, decorated well and had everything we needed, clean Beds were so uncomfortable
- Jennifer (10/5): Quirky house, definitely would book again - Central to venues Nothing
- Geoff (7/5): - location and easily accessible. reasonable price. took a while to get the code for the premises, Beds and pillows were not comfortable, And I never got a tax invoice issued which I requested.
- Grace (8/5): -
- MANDY (8/5): Great location, comfortable and Neil was prompt and easy to communicate with, would stay again :) - The property was very well located , though we did find it a little hard to find at first due to the number being painted over so couldn’t see it on outside of property , I’d suggest a different colour for the numbers Couldn’t find a tea towel to wipe up dishes, Mongon sheet on bed, (that’s a personal reference for me, I would just take my own next stay )
- Naomi (10/5): Very comfortable stay with 3 kids. Easy access into the city for vivid. The owner was very good with answering my questi - Loved the ease of getting into the city. Super hard to find. I think we circled the block about 6 times.
- Katrina (9/5): Quaint and Tidy in a great location - Loved the clean and modern feel to the place. Great layout and all you need is there. Great location to be close to the city and Darling Harbour. Great price for the style and location. The listing stated there was a sofa bed. However, upon arrival, there was not a sofa bed in the property.
There is no parking available in the street (as they are always taken with permit holders), and the nearest parking is about 15 minutes walk down Harris St, which overnight cost $80.
- Sando172 (9/5): Everything you need for a short stay in a great location - The property was in a great location - close to everything including public transport, eateries and parks with views of Sydney Harbour. As a heritage property, the property comes with it's own little quirks but knowing this made it fine as it was great value for money in terms of providing 2 bedrooms and being in such a great location.
- Terry (8/5): The location of this stay is fantastic. 2 minute walk to Light Rail that will connect you anywhere. - Communication was great and the host was very friendly, both rooms where large with double beds. A 2 minute walk to the light rail where you can connect anywhere in the city very quickly, including the airport. We used light rail to connect to the ferry to Taronga zoo. Would highly recommend this stay. Wasn't able to get the TV to work but could watch you tube movies
- Ian (9/5): Superb - Need to paint the house number is it's easy to read
- Lombardo (5/5): Passable -
- Butcher (7/5): Was overall comfy and tidy for a nights stay. - Was in a convenient area and clean The wifi didn’t work. And no phone service inside the building.
- Js1hundred (8/5): Very good - Small, private Advertised 4 beds, there were 2
Advertised loungers with sofa. There was no lounge room or sofa
Tv had no remote, and no info on how to manage without it
Toilet seat was snapped off on first use. Had to wait until half our time there to have it replaced.
- Brent (4/5): Location is good. Place was not as good as expected based on the photos. Cleanliness can be improved - Location was good The pictures do not tell the full story - the place is a lot smaller than it looks, but the main issue was cleanliness. The toilet was not cleaned properly and under the bed was dirty. The bed was uncomfortable.
- Cliff (6/5): Ok, but… - Location, location, location. And the owner is good communicator. I really feel uncomfortable to provide the comments, the house is at great location and the L1/L2 is within 50 meters. The owner is good communicator, responded me on time. However we have some suggestions to the owner to improve and make this accommodation better.
1) the cups are really dirty, we had to wash all them again before they can be used. And we cleaned all dishes and cups before we leave, as we did always.
2) the pillows are really small and not standard ones, please replace them, should not cost too much.
3) the toaster needs to be replaced by a one with multiple slots, the one you have now is one piece every time. We really frustrated.
Hope these can be improved soon, to make this small house a great place to stay.
Cliff
- Toni (9/5): Cosy, charming cottage in a great location - The house is built in 1890 and the owner has retained some of the original features inside the home which add to the charm of this small house. Location is perfect… a comfortable walk to Darling Harbour or light rail is around the corner in John St.
Owner responds quickly to messages and is very helpful! Nothing to dislike about the property but perhaps a security screen front door to allow airflow through the house.
- Sandy (5/5): Passable -
