Simone (10/5): - La casa è molto tranquilla e pulita. Abbiamo trascorso un piacevole soggiorno. Purtroppo la posizione è un po' fuori dal centro città, ma con un taxi si raggiunge il centro in pochi minuti.

I booked 10 days in advance and the host immediately CONFIRMED the reservation; less than 24 hours before the check in, the host notified me via Booking chat that the stucture was full booked and thus my reservation was CANCELLED. The host did not provide any back up solution nor helped finding another accommodation; Booking customer service was also useless.

Tamás (1/5): Rude owner,bad location,overpriced,dirty! - The dog. Be careful! You dont pay the amount what the platform writes you! The owner said he doesnt care how much they write, I have to pay what he thinks, around 15-20% higher amount, in CVE ofcourse. Obviously he cannot give invoice. Very hard to find, bad location, only choose it, if it is the very last accomodation in Praia! Overpriced in every aspect! The host is super rude and doesnt speak any foreign language! The cleaning is insufficient!

Márcia Garcia (6/5): The Wi-Fi in Hot Belvedere is 1/10. The worst. - My stay in Hot Belvedere start it very well. Carlos was super flexible with 2 important details. 1 - check in hours. I arrived from Fogo island by ferry and walked 1h30 from the port to the accommodation and only arrived at 10pm. 2 - He accepted payment by Revolut. I was in Cape Verde for 45 days and with standard plan I could only withdraw 1000€ month without paying unreasonable taxes and fees. Carlos also upgrade our room but I think is because was the only available in that night, but we stay there the entire time. A lot of people complain about location but for me was ok. I really waked 1 hour everyday to go to the city and that was just fine and safe if you stick with large streets. The things start going bad when he started lying and playing with us. CRUCIAL POINT: WIFI IS TERRIBLE. I repeat terrible. I don't who rate the wifi of Hot Belvedere as good but that person probably were there alone. The accommodation has more than 10 rooms. At 5 am when everyone is asleep, yes the wifi is amazing, because only you are using. But at 6 pm til 2 am, no one can use it because everybody is trying to use it. We complain about this and Carlos was like "ohh you know this is Africa, an island there is no good wifi quality in Cape Verde". And we are like "I am sorry? But we been in Santo Antão for 3 weeks and wi fi was excellent! Same in Fogo! Same in São Vicente!" And then he start changing his speech saying that lately the wifi was bad and next day we would call a specialist (he didn't). On top of this I ask him if we had any laundry service and HOW MUCH IT COST US to wash the clothes. First he told us that the washing machine in the kitchen was broken. OK I accepted. But then when we pressed him about WiFi situation, he shared that was a second washing machine in 3rd floor and in the next day I just needed to deliver my clothes to housemaid. I did it. My clothes got clean and he sent me a WhatsApp message saying "You clothes are wash and ready, the price is 500 CVE". I can assure you that I lost everything and I read 500 CVE. "I am sorry didn't I ask you yesterday thr price of washing and you said nothing??" He ignored my message. And I didn't payed. I am righting this review today, one week after. Because I just pick up the socks that I used to do the hikking to the volcano of Fogo, and surprise surprise, my feet went full of dust/black sand in the second I put my feet in. I am very upset. We had the audacity to ask me 500 CVE for clothes that was bad cleaning. Continuing with the wifi situation. After laundry episode, someone reset the router so we went one entire day without internet.

Anne (5/5): Het was goedkoop maar je hoeft er dan verder ook niks van te verwachten. Wellicht dat wij net pech hadden met de kamer. - De host heeft ons goed geholpen, heeft ons naar de markt en het vliegveld gebracht. Er zit een gat in het plafond van de badkamer waar vuil water doorheen kwam, de geur was ook erg onaangenaam. De bedden kraakte enorm dus we hebben niet echt kunnen uitrusten.

Staff were able to accomodate with little notice. Place was quiet and beautifully kept. Thank you Buzzer and/or contact to enter late night needed a repair. Response happened, eventually and very capably.

N (8/5): Very good - Hotel situated in a local area, shopping complex (banks/restaurants/minimarkets) 20 mins away on foot (nothing in immediate vicinity of hotel). Room had AC, TV, wardrobe and a fan, comfortable bed, good wifi signal and water pressure. Hotel signage present and owner available to gain access to the property. Definitely hotel type accommodation so if wanting to meet other travellers then you maybe disappointed. Fair price point.
