Guest Reviews
- Jennifer (7/5): Brilliant location and a comfor
table stay - Our host made sure we were able to get into the property with lots of helpful messages. The location was great although restaurants were a longer walk than indicated. But still under half an hour ~20| 25mins.The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well. Our host left a lovely breakfast for us for both mornings. The shower was great and heated floor very welcome. We were both surorused and pleazed that there was space for guest parking Small things but easily rectified. There was really no where to put our things. Lots of homely nick nacks belonging to the host took up space also no where to hang cothes. A longer stay would have been tricky. Bathroom door didnt close which might be uncomfortable for some. No cloths or t-towels in the kitchen.
- Walter (4/5): As mentioned, totally disappointed ! - The room was rather spacious and bed felt good. Rest of the internal accommodation was pretty average, so would not complain My wife and myself booked this place mainly because it was described as beachfront and were rather excited and so did not mind its above- the- normal -cost than for standard properties( i.e. without beach front) But when we stayed there we were totally disappointed!! I did not complain during the stay as it was advertised by booking.com and it can take hours on the phone to contact. them. Also , did not want to escalate the matter during the stay.
All you see in front of the property is complete wall of trees with not even a miniscule view of the water or the beach from any angle.
Yes, it's close to the beach but then one has to walk/cut through the thick barrier of trees to catch a glimpse of it.. Wondering also if one is on the wheel chair and books this place hoping he can see the beach and water from the property and finds that this is not the case!

- Helen (7/5): Peaceful overnight stop-over in a good location for exploring Phillip Island. - Good, peaceful location, close to the beach. Quirky and nicely presented.
Breakfast foods provided. A bit cluttered. Felt it was significantly over priced when compared with other similar stays in the same area and at the same time.

- Ange (10/5): - The property was so quiet and perfectly located near the beach. An amazing spot for a walk at dusk.
- Lucy (10/5): Highly recommend. Hope we can go back soon - It was so cosy - felt like we were staying in a day spa. The pics really don’t do it justice. Loved it. We only stayed one night so the lack of kitchen amenities didn’t bother us. And the host made us bacon and eggs! So no complaints from us.
- Chris (8/5): - Clifftop frontage to Woolamai surf beach with unbroken view from Cape Woolamai to Nobbies cliffs. Room was warm and bed was comfortable. Walk through to Cape Woolamai Beach- more suitable for swimming. It is most suited to one or two nights stay. However, a minutes drive to the Wooli Hotel for evening meal.
- Roger (9/5): Had a lovely stay at Beachfront Surfers Retreat. Nice and peaceful and very close to the beach. -
- Oliver (10/5): Great location and facilities - perfect place to explore the local area from. - Location and facilities N/A
- Natalie (9/5): Would definitely go back / recommend - Great location, clean, responsive host, amazingly comfy bed! Property was exactly as listed. There was only a small kitchenette & not really suitable for cooking if that’s what you are in to.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anja (10/5): A perfect romantic getaway - A charming accomodation in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay and all the extra little details that went into decorating the place. It's walking distance to a surfers beach and a short drive to great food places. Perfect place for a couple's getaway, especially if you want to bring your furry friend along.
- Oliver (9/5): A great place to stay with a friendly and accomodating host - Great location with access to the beach via the path across the road. Kieran was a great host Didn’t realise the kitchenette didn’t have a sink which made washing up a little difficult
- Xuan (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. It worths the money, I will definitely comeback
- Joyce (5/5): It was a lovely getaway inspite of the wintery weather in summer. - There was no coffee, mugs were dusty and glasses dirty. The window was stuck open so that was annoying and cold. There was no heating. There was no toilet paper.
- Abigail (8/5): Verging on luxurious place to stay, right by the beach and easily walkable to restaurants - Lovely location, really nicely decorated, great shower with robes provided which was a lovely little treat.
Great location, close to beach and short walk to shops, quiet neighbourhood. Nice to have a dining table. The footsteps from the floor above were quite loud, but didn’t disturb us at night time.
Couldn’t get the coffee machine to work (could be user error).
The bread for the continental breakfast felt a bit cheap given the cost to stay, but rest of the breakfast was lovely.
There was no couch to lounge on which was a bit odd but other chairs were nice.
We found the gate locked when we came back from dinner which was a little tricky but got it sorted.
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional - Outstanding
- Jody (8/5): Very good - Good location and comfy bed. Property in need of TLC didn't look like the photos. Cobwebs on egg swing chair, breakfast items not stocked (no spare toliet paper, normal tea ans coffee), wiring in the kitchenette looks dangerous with
- David (5/5): Passable -
- Heather (9/5): We spent two nights here, it was exceptional, we will return in the future and highly recommend this property. - Great location, lovely little private courtyard and spacious room. The bed is very comfortable and everything you need is provided for a comfortable stay.
Special touches like cereal, fresh bread and milk as well as chocolates and wine were also provided! Things that would make the room that bit more comfortable would be a sink in the kitchenette or bathroom that could be used to easily wash a cup or glass and an upgrade of the bathroom would be great.
There is nothing bad about this property these are only suggestions that would in my opinion make a 10/10 score!
- Diane (7/5): It was nice and quiet - Very good No access to beach
- Andrea (10/5): Loved it! - A truly wonderful stay. The place has a spa feel to it with lovely aromas and decor to match. The facilities provided are endless and thoughtfully engineered from the fresh fruit bowl to the fairy lights and comfy bathrobe. Far exceeded expectations and would highly recommend.
- Mayank (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Francesca (9/5): Superb - Excellent location and nice accommodation. The bed was very big and comfortable and the place had everything we needed (even earplugs and umbrellas!)
The host was very kind and helpful and provided great vegan options for breakfast along with fresh fruit salad at our arrival which we loved.
- Brendan (9/5): Superb -
- Rachel (9/5): Superb -
- Cyril (10/5): Perfect host - The room was cosy and well decorated, the terrace was beautiful.
