• Guest (2/5): - The location was ok. AC was awesome. The bathroom drainage was clogged. We reported and the owner came but his solution was to put the handheld shower on the drain aiming to use the shower weak pressure to unclog the drain which obviously did not work (concerning unhygienic procedure). Then he said that he needed to do a big work to unclog it but the room needed to be empty. No offer of changing to another room, nothing else, despite our booking was for 2 weeks. Some days after, a man was at the front desk (which was always unstaffed) trying to reach the Hostal personnel because his shower drain was clogged and water was overflowing to the bedroom area. It seems like this is a major problem not resolve for a long while. We also saw small cockroaches coming out from the tile cracks in the shower. The shower curtain showing noticeable dark patches, likely from mold or bacteria. We also noticed guests in other rooms smoking indoors, which suggest that the smoke alarms does not appear to be operational (cigarette smell reached the corridor). The Hostal personnel is not reachable by a direct phone number, only WhatApp, this is not very clear/indicated at the main desk dashboard. The main door lock is old and difficult to open for a first time visitor. In the lobby, there is a old rail embedded on the floor (probably from a previous sliding door), it creates a risk of tripping , I entangled my feet on it several times. Keep in mind that there are not elevators in this building. The room has too big furniture and not space for luggage. Due to location, this place has a great potential to become a excellent accommodation but bathroom renovation is definitely needed together with other minor upgrades.
• Debbie (10/5): - Very convenient. Clean amazing value for money. Will def stay again. WiFi wasn’t good, and hard to connect. But otherwise it was good.
• Julie (8/5): Tranquille et bien situé - La propriétaire est super sympa et accessible par message texte L'hostel est à 5 minutes à pied de la plage et de la place centrale Très silencieux pour dormir Très propre J'ai adoré avoir une bouilloire dans ma chambre et un mini frigo (sur demande) ainsi que l'accès à un micro-ondes et de la vaisselle (cuisinette au sous-sol) J'ai adoré avoir un bain Il n'y avait jamais personne à la réception ni pour faire les chambres Lit inconfortable: matelas très dur avec seulement un drap mince directement sur la matelas, oreillers vraiment cheaps (avoir un lit confortable, c'est l'élément le plus fondamental d'un séjour dans un hostel) Robinet de l'évier de la salle de bain qui coule et ça fait un bruit qui devient dérangeant avec le temps
• gianfranco (10/5): Excellent. - Very lovely Hostal in a central road of Nerja, very close to the bus Station and very close ti highlight/restaurant of Nerja. Room small but perfect for the vaction, clean and silent enough. The key got wirh code due flight delay but all contacts,requests and conversation with the Owner was great and helpful. It s ok absolutely a budget place but perfect for place, prize and position. Surely it s worth to come there again.

• Maria Dolores Castillo Barrera (4/5): - Solo la ubicación El colchón pesimo y la almohada peor.... imposible descansar me fui con dolor en todos los huesos ,la luz del baño todo el tiempo parpadeando imposible maquillarse pues la luz te mareaba incluso duchandote ni una esterilla para no resbalar en la ducha, los canales de la tele mal sintonizados solo tres canales y todos de antena tres...vamos que te linita hasta lo que quieras ver...y si se movía el cable perdías la imagen, las vistas Booking dijo que tenía balcón y al final daba a ún patio interior de dos metros cuadrados que solo veía toallas y bikinis colgados....en dos días solo vi a una persona para recoger las llaves debi llamar para exponer el problema en fin...con no volver.... me pareció excesivo la relación calidad -precio se aprovechan por la ubicación que es cierto que es muy buena..
• LuiiGi92 (5/5): Podría Mejorarse - El emplazamiento y la localización eran excepcionales. No pudieron darnos la llave, y tuvimos que llamar al timbre dos veces y la chica tardó en atendernos. Además no hablaba español, con lo cual la comunicación es algo complicada para el que no sepa inglés.
• Susan (1/5): We would not be staying at this hostel again. - It was quite apart from one night and was woken at 12.30. There were ants in the bathroom, mould on the shower curtain and cockroaches in the corridor, also in our bath.The pillows were not comfortable at all. We didn’t see any staff apart from the owners mother on our check in. Overall it wasn’t very clean. We’ve stayed in the hostel many times under the previous owner and couldn’t believe how it’s been neglected.
• Ariannys (6/5): - Me gustó la ubicación me parece perfecto que todo esté súper céntrico Me tocó en el último piso, no tienen ascensor. Por lo que viajaba con mi madre y es de edad para subir tantos pisos. Y el baño un poco descuidado.

• Julian (9/5): Sehr angenehme Unterkunft im Herzen von Nerja, einer wunderschönen und sehr sauberen Stadt! - Die Lage war ideal, 1 Minute in die Fußgängerzone, unter 5 zum Balcon de Europa und damit auch zum Strand. Die Kommunikation war einfach und das Personal außerordentlich freundlich! Die Badewanne hatte einige kleine Roststellen die mit einer Matte überdeckt waren.
• Herminia (1/5): No volvería ni aunque me pagaran - Lo único la ubicación, está cerca del centro pero igualmente tienes que coger el coche para ir a la playa Llegamos a las 4 de la tarde y no tenían ni habitación después de llevar un mes reservada y pagada. Nos estuvimos que esperar a que limpiaran otra habitación que decía que le quedaban 5 minutos. La habitación sucia por donde la miraras hasta una cucaracha muerta encontramos el suelo te quedabas pegado y sucio, encima no fue la que reservamos. Y por destacar la mujer que nos atendió era inglesa sin saber nada de español osea que si no sabes inglés no te puedes comunicar con ella. Cosa que me parece fatal ya que estamos en España. Entiendo que sea zona turística pero al menos que hable español e inglés. Un despropósito de hostal.

• Karen (8/5): Good stay - Very centrally located, very clean. Great staff Tiny room is the only thing as the twin room looked bigger on the website. Ok for just a couple of nights though but price a little steep for that particular room.

• Pena (3/5): Poor - Location was good Room was not completely clean. Hair and some trash on the room floor. Bathroom was depressing with low light and horrible hum from the vent. Beds were not conformable and bedding looked like it could use some TLC. Wall picture was cracked. Toilet had a blue odorizer. I could not connect to the wifi during my stay.

Good size bedroom with everything we needed in there, the bed was big and fairly comfortable. Had good heating in the bedroom. Hot shower. Good for a nights stay, and close to facilities. Was fair for the price. Pillows very uncomfortable. Bathroom shabby, didn't want to use the bath. WIFI didn't work. Could do with tea and coffee making facilities.

• Sandra (10/5): Excellent location, clean and safe - We like the proximity to everything, the cleanliness and ease of access to the room key I would have liked the code to get the room key from the lock box prior to or at the time of check in, and not when we arrive because we arrived late and no one was at the reception desk so we had to wait until we got ahold of someone
• Morgan (10/5): Love it here - I came to Nerja for a wedding and loved my stay at Montys. Initially i booked the wrong dates and realised quite late. Montys changed the booking for me and really got me out of a tricky situation and im so grateful to them. The staff are so kind and helpful. The Air conditioning is amazing and the location is perfect. Thank you all at Montys for a great stay. Myself and my partner will be returning :) Nothing :)
