- Miriam (10/5): -
- PAUL (10/5): - Was able to leave the car on the owners drive all weekend.
While the accommodation is a room in the main house and the owner was very helpful.
The location is superb, VERY quite and with a good bus service into the city. While the local pub, the Westbury Inn was a friendly and did did a great pizza. Nothing.
- Jenna (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, and great value for money. Would highly recommend.
- Laura (8/5): - Friendly hosts and comfortable room with enough space to move around. Beautiful shower room. All spotlessly clean. Bed comfortable. Nice to have tea, fresh milk and coffee machine. Was also nice to have sparkling water instead of juice.on offer. Thank you.
We were catching up with family living in Henleaze so perfect location. No lock on door to bedroom. Where tea and coffee were placed it made getting in and out of bathroom a bit awkward. However, that is a really nit picking point because everything was very comfortable
- Charles (10/5): Very pleasant and comfy room for an overnight stay in good location. - The room was very comfortable and the en-suite was excellent, both were very clean. The tea/coffee making good and the juice was welcome. Location pleasant and very quiet, easy parking and close to bus routes into the City centre. Host Clare was very welcoming and friendly. A shower cap would have been helpful given the fixed shower head.
- Deborah (10/5): Hidden Gem - A fantastic house, room and location. Parking on site. Very quiet and immaculate.
- Simon (8/5): - The room was very nice, very clean, lovely and helpful staff. Quiet area No lock on the door was our only issue
- Harry (9/5): Excellent - Good location
- HELEN (10/5): -
- Maria Teresa (10/5): Exactly what we were looking for. - Clare and Tomas gave us a warm welcome upon arrival and made the check-in experience feel genuinely hospitable. They also provided a helpful information sheet in the room with recommendations for local restaurants, breakfast cafés, and other useful tips. The room and en-suite bathroom were spotless and very comfortable and coffee, tea, milk, and juice were provided. Although the property is located in a more residential area, there are shops, cafés, and restaurants just a 5-minute walk away, and a nearby bus stop offers easy access to Bristol town centre.

- Eleanor (10/5): - Incredibly comfortable stay at Downs Cottage, with lovely, welcoming hosts. The room has been recently renovated, and the care put into it is evident. The bathroom is modern and spacious, while the bedroom is large and roomy, and is big enough for you to move around and stretch out. There's also a little tea/coffee station set up. A lot of thought has been put into the room to make the stay comfortable.

- Ashton (10/5): Amazing - was comfy and customer service was amazing the property was perfect
- Linda (10/5): -
- Ana (10/5): - molt be tot. El preu una mica car per a la meva butxaca pero no mes car que qualsevol lloc a UK
- Simon (9/5): Cozy, high quality accomodation in pleasant Bristol suburb. - Location was perfect for where I needed to be. Host was welcoming and accomodating with timings for arrival. Room was comfortable and quiet, bed was lovely. The photo on the website didn't do the room justice. I would have liked facilities to make breakfast - but this wasn't in the property listing so thats all fair enough. There was nice coffee machine and fruit juice which was a nice touch.
- Jeremy (8/5): Cosy and pleasant room , very comfortable bed - Clean and modern facilities ,coffee machine and nice touch with fresh orange juice Parking was limited
- Charles (8/5): -

- Gary (7/5): Nice room. Good for an overnight stay. - Lovely room in a house. Everything you would need for an overnight stay. Very comfortable bed. Had to knock on two other doors to find the right location. No signage or indication of where the property is.

- Karen (8/5): Comfortable stay. Good facilities. - Off road parking. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Modern en-suite with rain shower. Proximity to the function we were attending. Tea and coffee making facilities, even a tiny fridge for milk.
- bryan (9/5): Very good - Clean Nothing . Very minor if it was my property would purchase a sign ,outside door name downs cottage.
- Shaun (10/5): Lovely accommodation with great hosts who made my stay perfect after a long days work....many thanks - The hosts were extremely helpful and welcoming people who couldn't do enough to make the my stay as comfortable as possible
The facilities were spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable with possibly the softest pillows i've slept on in a long while (much better than in any hotel i've stayed in for some time) Parking of a larger vehicle is a little tricky but not impossible and to be honest there is absolutely nothing the hosts could do about that anyway so certainly not a deterrent for a return visit that's for sure
- john (10/5): Quite comfortable room - Lovely recently renovated room with an en-suite in a private house
- Rosalind (9/5): Comfortable room, helpful and friendly hosts - The room was very comfortable and well appointed. Clare and Tomas were excellent hosts and very accommodating in response to my special request which made my visit to Bristol much better, thank you. Great coffee machine too!
- Haroon (8/5): Very good -
- Jack (9/5): Superb - Immaculate. Very friendly welcome. Lovely area. Bit far from city centre to walk to my office. Top end off budget.
- Eve (10/5): Exceptional - Super comfortable bed, easy parking and the shower felt like a spa shower! Really friendly welcome too.
- Chloe (10/5): Perfect and peaceful! - A home away from home! Spotless room, all the facilities and toiletries you could need, super attentive owners - juice & coffee in the morning were wonderful. I felt so safe and cosy, everything was perfect. I’ve already booked my next stay! Thank you so much Clare & Tomas (and Fudge) 😊 -

- Katie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful room and lovely bathroom. Very clean. Lovely host Clare, who greeted me on arrival.
- Helen (9/5): Superb - Lovely comfortable room, quiet and private despite being within the family home. Very clean, with everything needed for an overnight stay. Nice to have a mini fridge with enough milk in it for several cups of tea and juice for the morning. Easy walk to Downs, local shops/cafes & Whiteladies Road. Bus service to town/station also very convenient. Thomas & Claire were welcoming but not intrusive at all - Thanks guys.
- Leighton (10/5): Exceptional - Everything .. .lovely people and Fudge was a cutie 💓...
Lovely room , could not expect any more. Nothing

- Llewellyn (10/5): Exceptional - Great stay. Lovely to meet the dog!
- Jackie (9/5): Superb - Very clean and well done Nothing
- Rob (9/5): Superb - Lovely couple along with fudge the cockapoo, room was super clean as was the bathroom, my only concern is that it's advertised as an apartment but is a room in Thomas and Claire house, yes we were disappointed at first but as said place was lovely and didn't affect our stay for 2 nights.
- Anne (9/5): Highly recommend to anyone. Doesn't get much better and extremely reasonable rate - Beautifully looked after and presented property. Room was very clean, comfy and had a lovely homely feel. I slept extremely well

- Sandra (9/5): Excellent accommodation and location with a lovely friendly welcome. - Perfect walking distance location for our needs and to other amenities if needed. Would definitely stay again when in Bristol Hard to find any fault, only perhaps the addition of a lite breakfast, although we didn't personally need or miss this
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paula (10/5): Recommended room in friendly house. - Excellent location.
Very comfortable clean room in a private house.
Made to feel welcome and privacy respected. Nil
- Damian (9/5): Superb -
- Roz (9/5): Beautiful room in a delightful house, a perfect place for a weekend in Bristol! - Downs Cottage is a beautiful place to stay for a trip to Bristol. Clare and Tomas were excellent hosts, and the room was spotless, comfortable and ideally located just north of the City. It was a quick bus ride into town. The bathroom was well appointed and the lovely touch of fresh milk in the mini-fridge made the difference when it came to the morning tea. There was also some orange juice. It's a lovely place and I have no hesitation in recommending it to everyone. - Plus - Fudge is a delight! Once tiny issue - which I'm afraid is usually the issue of most of my reviews - the pillows were less than optimal; tired, lumpy, flat. New plump pillows would raise my review up to a 10. But that's a tiny thing compared to all the awesome positives about this lovely stay, and I am a pillow perfectionist - I'm still searching for that perfect pillow.
- Helen (9/5): Superb - The hosts were very friendly and helpful
- Joy (9/5): We would have no hesitation in recommending this property and will certainly stay here again. - It was comfortable, warm and perfectly located for us. A bonus was the street or driveway parking. The room is immaculately clean. Tea and coffee provided and even a choice of fruit juice for the morning. Clare and Tomas are the perfect hosts and it was lovely to meet Fudge the dog. Nothing.
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Clare and Tomas were very accommodating and the room was in pristine condition. Very enjoyable and comfortable nights stay.
- Harry (10/5): Highly recommended - would definitely stay here again. - Quiet location but close to shops etc. Clean and modern en-suite bedroom. Tea/coffee making in room plus juice in morning most welcome. Friendly hosts. All good!
- Lilian (9/5): Clean, comfortable and the hosts were exceptionally warm - The property was clean and fresh, featuring a high standard of décor and all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts were exceptionally warm and welcoming, which created a pleasant atmosphere. Additionally, the offer of orange juice was a thoughtful touch that made my experience even more enjoyable.
- Nigel (10/5): Lovely ensuite room - Lovely ensuite room with tea and coffee facilities.
Super clean
A real home from home.
Friendly and warm welcome. Nothing
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay, we were made to feel very welcome. Check-in was easy, very clean room & close to local bus routes. No issues.
- Dipen (8/5): Very good - Lovely host and accommodation The noisy fridge and the bathroom shower light seeping through the gaps of the bathroom door into the bedroom at night time
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Lilwen (9/5): Excellent location, extremely polite owner, extremely clean bedroom with a lovely shower room. - The orange juice and coffee was brilliant. The location was close to restaurants, pubs, Chinese, etc.
- Doreen (10/5): I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay in Bristol. - A very clean and homely house. Very welcoming host.
Nice little coffee maker. Nothing
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable, very accommodating
- Philippa (10/5): Perfect stay and highly recommend - Clare was a genuinely warm and friendly host. Their dog, Fudge is also very cute and added to the personal feel of our stay, even though their part of the house is very separate/private from the rooms they rent out. Whilst the room was clean, modern and felt newly renovated, it was cosy and I felt right at home immediately. The shower was amazing too. Nothing to complain about at all
- Anne (9/5): Perfect place for a work overnight stay - Everything was lovely - stylish, comfortable, clean & everything I needed Everything was good
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rob (9/5): Superb -

- Toby (6/5): Pleasant - Lovely room, nice people No lock on the bedroom door that I could see, and the fridge was noisy
- Simmons (9/5): Superb -
- Marie (10/5): Excellent - Very comfortable bed. Lovely host. It was all good
- Lee (8/5): Very good -
- Ilia (9/5): Superb -
- Mohamed (8/5): I would definitely use this place again in my next visit to Bristol. - It’s all fine . The room is perfect. Very clean . The walk in shower is equipped with all requirements including shower gel, shampoo, deodorants , and even toothpaste. The bed was very comfortable and immaculate.Clare and Tomas were very friendly and welcoming. Even their little dog was very considerate and made no noise. So I slept very comfortably. There’s no towels . I assume it’s a hygienic regulation. I had to bring my own.
- Fiona (10/5): A warm welcome . Superb room . Quality and style . - First class comfort and style . Exceeded what I had hoped for . Couldn’t have been better .
- Neil (9/5): Superb - tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and a nice quiet location nothing
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly greeting
- Jeff (10/5): Exceptional - The comfortable room and quiet location.
- Ana (10/5): Great stay. - The room was recently renovated, it's spacious and modern. Clare is such a nice host, very friendly and gave us many tips about the area. Location is good, easy access to city center via bus or Uber. Easy parking on the street. Nothing, all great.
- Keckley (10/5): Friendly, accommodating and comfortable stay in a quiet neighborhood. - The family was fantastic. Lovely home and quaint and quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed the stay immensely! Nothing! It was exactly what I was looking for.
- Hannah (7/5): Not obviously advertised accurately. And the no lock on your bedroom door made us feel slightly uncomfortable and lack o - Clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay, despite the issues I have mentioned. However I should mention that it is not clear on the advert that it is a spare room in somebody’s house where people live. This was not made clear and was a bit of a shock when we got there. There is also no lock on the bedroom door so you feel your privacy could be invaded at anytime. There is also a dog who lives at the house which is also not mentioned in the advertisement for anyone who has an allergy or phobia. Clean and comfortable but not obviously advised accurately. This was mentioned to one of the hosts that it wasn’t what we expected and since (I believe) the advertisement has been altered slightly, but still isn’t clear. The “flat screen tv” is also too small to watch anything on and the “refrigerator” is too small to put anything in.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isabelle (9/5): Nice, clean bedroom. - The bedroom and ensuite were super comfortable. The bedroom was nicely decorated. Nice touches having juice in the fridge and a coffee machine. Even though the bedroom was super comfortable and clean. I found it a bit weird just being in someone's house as I thought it was going to be an outhouse granny flat off someone's house. I should have read the advert more closely.
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louise (9/5): Superb -
- Maximo (10/5): Superb value for money and lovely hosts - Great location, lovely room, fantastic hosts. Nothing - it was ideal.
- James (10/5): Lovely - Very clean and well presented room. Very friendly accommodating hosts. Nothing
- Gillian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristine (9/5): Very comfortable, friendly guest house in quiet suburban street - Attention to detail eg fresh milk provided, beds very comfortable, owner very friendly, good location near to the Downs and small shops Nothing
- Gabrielle (8/5): Very good - Towels were very scratchy
- Naomi (10/5): Perfect stay - Lovely room, had everything we needed for a lovely stay.
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frank (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kimberley (10/5): Wish I could have stayed longer! - Wonderful friendly welcome from Clare! We chatted so comfortably, it was much needed after a week at a work conference!
The room was so homely with everything you need and the attention do detail is the best experience I've had from an Air BnB yet, from the teeny tiny milk bottle i the table top fridge down to the USB plug sockets, so I didn't have to rummage around for mine! I even forgot my glasses and Clare has kindly posted them back to me :0) I really have nothing to dislike.
