Guest Reviews
- sweatman (6/5): - Comfy beds Not clean enough ',leaking radiator water running in from roof .no parking at the property due to selfish neighbours ,no garden as advertised then advert changed later to small patio .well used kitchen equipment not fit for use in baking trays chipped cups and plates .crack in bathroom sink
- Luke (8/5): Lovely weekend, picturesque village - Lovely cosy cottage, warms up extremely quickly with heating. Lovely picturesque village setting with views from the bedroom windows. There isn’t parking as described, really. It’s roadside but you would block the road
- Alexandra (9/5): -
- Lynsey (10/5): - The surrounding areas are beautiful. The place was comfortable and very clean. It had all that you needed for a comfortable stay. Quite steep when walking around. However, I could not falt it in any way. The local people were very supportive and friendly. Lots to do only short car journeys away, and there is an Iceland 10 minutes away near matlock. Nothing.
- Holly (8/5): - The cottage had beautiful view Car was parked a 5 min walk away
- tim (5/5): Room for improvement - The location of winster is great.the beds were so comfy and the house was lovely to be in. The bath it was to tall for a elderly person like my mother who could not get in without help .no hand rails at all and it would not have been safe for her. the sat nav location which was given to us was not the best at all ,I had to park the car first and then walk to find the place.the TV had no Freeview which is ok for me but the elderly would not like it and did she let me know.
- Kate (8/5): - Lovely cottage in the beautiful village of Winster. The beds were very comfortable (although both double beds have footboards, just a warning if you're tall!) And the bathroom is a good size with a good shower.
Very good sized fridge and freezer. Lovely to have some biscuits and tea and coffee and a bottle of bubbly waiting for us when we arrived.
Cosy living room with good TV. Lovely to have soft fleecey throws on all the armchairs, which made it really comfortable.
Very safe if you've got small kids or dogs as there is a very good fire guard and stair gates. The kitchen could do with a few more utensils for people who want to cook. All the kitchen knives were blunt and difficult to use. There was no coffee machine, no serving bowls, no whisk, no colander, no washing up gloves (which would have been really helpful because there is no dishwasher). There was only one tea towel provided (which again, given there is no dishwasher, wasnt really enough). There was a food waste bin under the sink, but no food waste bags, and no recycling facilities.
The cottage sleeps 5 people, but there were only 4 dining chairs at the dining table. This wasnt a problem for us but may be for larger families.
It's listed as having a garden/backyard with a patio set but in reality there is only a tiny yard and although there were 2 plastic patio chairs out there it wouldn't have been comfortable to sit there. There is also an old stove that has been left there taking up space.
- Marshall (8/5): Historic and very pretty . - Lovely cosy cottage in a gorgeous village , it had everything we needed .
Very clean.
The location was wonderful the village quaint and very welcoming villagers . No accessible parking , lots of hills .
No garden at the property.
- Rocco (10/5): Absolutely lovely little village of Winster and Bradley House was fantastic! -
- Ann (10/5): Excellent weekend stay, we will return soon -
- Chris (9/5): Both the property and Winster itself were a great spot for a weekend walking and relaxing. - Location was great both for walking and for pub, property was very comfortable with plenty of room for two couples. Parking was a bit tight in front of the property-best to park either in the lay-by or free car park on the top road a short walk away. No logs supplied for the log fire but maybe this was because it was May.
- Penny (9/5): Superb - Just the little touches. Even spare tooth brushes and a cart to take bags up to where the car was parked. Could have done with some logs even though it’s may . It’s was wet and cold outside
- Angela (7/5): Good - The place was nicely decorated. well enough equipped and spacious for 4 people. The village is lovely with a shop and couple of nice pubs. lovely area to explore. No curtains in the bedroom so sunlight came in very easy in the morning. Outside space was so limited that you couldn't really sit out. although it states patio it's very small and very shaded
- Martyn (8/5): Great property in a nice location.helpful hosts - Great facilities. Very clean. Nice location. Pillows could have been better
- Helena (7/5): Small cars only! - Good house in small village. All good in the house and it has everything you need for a short stay. The directions to the house are incorrect on this website. As a result we asked a local to direct us who was very angry about the property being rented out for short term stays. We got an earful and went on our way. Turns out that local is the neighbour. No parking close to the house and the roads are extremely narrow.
- Laura (9/5): A lovely stay - Log burner, plenty of hot water, comfortable beds, location Wheelie bin was full so nowhere to put rubbish
- Matthew (9/5): Lovely Cottage in a beautiful place - The house was well appointed and comfy and clean. The village is beautiful and has 2 great pubs. Top spot for exploring the local areas walks and history. Good price for a 3 bedroom property. On arrival we couldn't find the key safe as its location wasn't properly described in the info provided. I spoke to the owner though and resolved this. There wasn't a parking space at the property as stated, we needed to park at the car park up the hill. This was only 5 mins walk though and didn't cause us any problems.
