Guest Reviews
- Beata (8/5): Very good -
- Bell (7/5): Good -
- Rianna (4/5): Shocking - We stayed here as it was an ideal location for an event we were attending, however it’s about an hour via public transport to reach the city centre. Easy check in and out. We received no warning that we would be staying in the roofspace with a bath and toilet in the bedroom, would not recommend staying here in the hotter months as all heat rose to the roofspace and the fans provided weren’t much help, however we were grateful they were there. Also would not rely on using the kitchen facilities as they weren’t the cleanest. WiFi also didn’t reach the roofspace, and the chair was broken.
- Ella (5/5): Passable -
- Nanna (8/5): Very good -
- Ronan (9/5): Superb - Close to everything in the city . I loved the Predator ornament in the room. Nothing. It was warm but the hosts can't control the weather.
- Matthew (6/5): Pleasant - Location, price was ok Having to change room, halfway through stay
- Kim (8/5): Very good - The proximity to Finsbury Park
- Gary (1/5): Would not go again - When I arrived there was someone else's belongings in the room I was suppost to be in. I then had to waste the evening sorting this.
- Rachael (8/5): Very please with room was clean & comfortable close to all amenities great location - Being able to park large clean comfortable room N/A
- Mohamed (2/5): Very poor -
- Sarah (6/5): Pleasant - - Great location.
- Parking.
- Price.
- We’re allowed to check in at 12:00 instead of 16:00. - Bedroom had a weird blue bulbs in the light.
- Bedroom extremely hot.
- No proper shower.
- Kitchen FILTHY.
- Someone was cooking rice in the kitchen at 07:00.
- Smelly due to people cooking.
- Susan (9/5): Superb - Great place. Lovely room
- Zafer (3/5): Poor -
- Sean (2/5): Was clean enough but was underwhelming with the set up as no tea bags or suger and no tv in room - Didn’t get breakfast, there was mould in the room in certain places and all around the window! Floors were creaking and had no tv in room I was quite disappointed with it to be honest It’s was all just ok but not set up how I expected
- Nina (3/5): Ok for one night - Comfy bed. Quite easy to access and quiet Not clean. No tea or coffees as stated or proper toiletries as stated. Dusty. No proper wardrobe. Dirty bath and sink. No blind on sky light.
- Daniel (7/5): Good - Location was near to Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Walking distance. Faulty kettle that reheated over and over
- Aprilx (9/5): Superb -
- Oleksandr (2/5): Very poor -
- Joshua (1/5): Smelly, messy and dirty - Room was tidy, however the rest of the house had a very stale smell and was incredibly messy Smell, dirty
- Emmanuel (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alihas (1/5): Awful experience.... - Nothing... The heating System to be improved. Also the room is not clean at all, there was a weird smell and the floor boards were dirty. The whole experience was awful. I will never recommend.
- Day (7/5): Good -
- Thomas (3/5): The smell alone gives me nightmares - The neighbourhood was nice and quiet, as were the other people in the house. The pictures did portray the room how it was, but you do have to take a good close look at them. The value would've been alright if we weren't as bothered by the things you can't put in pictures. Also, we did enjoy having a bathtub in the apartment. The place really stinks a lot. It is situated in a shared house and the entire house including our room reeked like Chinese food. I just couldn't stand the smell and wanted to spend as little time possible in there because of it.
The entire room was cluttered with stuff as if someone was living there, making us a bit uncomfortable and giving us limited space to unpack our bags. Cleanliness could be way better with dirt on the ground and stains on the bedsheets and the smell alone gives you the feeling that it is mirky, although no pests were seen by us during our stay.
The building is a bit noisy, people were generally very quiet, but when they were in the hallway it sounded like they stood right in your room. Also, the lock was a bit broken and always took a few minutes to open with the key.
There is no real usable shower, so you are to use the bathtub for your washing, also the lack of a toilet door is something to be noted before you plan your stay here.
- Hristova (5/5): It wasn’t so bad, but I didn’t recommend the place. - The bed was so comfortable and the location was good. The kitchen was so dirty and messy and the other people in the house were so noisy.
- Dana (5/5): Passable - This was a lived in airbnb, those who were in there were polite an friendly. I arrived at this property, and the bedroom had not been cleaned. It wasn't overly dirty, but it had not been cleaned, the bedding had not been put on, and the toilet I cleaned myself. It was a stormy night, and no heating was on. The room was freezing. The staff changed bedding whilst we were in the room. As for the kitchen, wow, it is really sad that this accommodation is advertised to use the kitchen, as it is in a really poor standard. Unfortunately, when I tried to call the contact number to get some assistance, they didn't answer, but I texted to say send a message. Once I did this, I was told to use the 2 oil radiators, which took hours to warm the room. The lock on the bedroom door is very hard to lock and get back in. I wouldn't stay here again, as you are welcomed by strong cooking smells night and day, and it is quite daunting being in a house where others lived.
- Louise (5/5): It was okay. - The room was a nice size and good location for the tube if you need to be near the Alexandra Palace. The bed was very comfy. On arrival, there was very little toilet roll in the room we had which was level 3 with the bathroom, it did not last us 1 night and there was no towels so we could have a bath after a long journey of travelling. The room was very clean and there was someone's left over vapes left around the room.
- Sopheenicole (10/5): Exceptional - Loved having a bath in the room! The bed was super comfortable and the fan was an absolute god send! Door was a little tricky to get into and being an attic room it was a slight trek with our cases but nothing major. Had a really nice stay
- Skye (6/5): Pleasant -
- Imani (3/5): Better than nothing but partially very dirty - The person I texted with was gentle. The bed was comfortable. Room was tidy and clean. The picture is misleading as one expects to book this cute cozy room and not a teen room with cheap furniture. But this is a problem with booking.com I assume. The bathroom was extremely dirty the first 2 days. Hair everywhere, proper stains, dirty toilet. Bathroom would need a deep cleaning and more regular visits by a cleaner (who also cleans the toilet btw). Never used the kitchen to cook, but it seemed quite untidy and most of the time occupied by others who seemed to be permanent guests. Taking public transport mostly involved at least 20mins walk.
- Tereza (7/5): Good - The room is nice, very comfortable but the people in the house are so noisy from 7 o'clock in the morning they start to go in and out, shout so loudly I can't sleep 😕 was so disappointed.
- Kevin (9/5): Superb -
- Tomas (10/5): Very comfortable and had cool lights. Nice and decorated. The owner responds to messages and is organised. Very clean an - Very comfortable and good value for the price There wasn’t really anything to dislike from my experience
- Kyrsty (5/5): Room fine and did the job it needed to, wouldn't want to stay longer due to other facilities - Location wise decent for Tottenham stadium. Room itself was clean, access easy, and nights quiet. Toilet roll was helpful. Kettle a nice touch. We knew from reviews what we were expecting, so please read this so you know what you are booking! Bathrooms were used by many people and not particularly clean. The rooms are in a shared house, meaning it is very lived in. Busy in the mornings as people were in and out.
- Tristan (3/5): Interesting. Not one to repeat. - Booked for a friend. He was allocated a child's cabin bed. He then found himself locked in the toilet and some of the other occupants helped get him out.
When calling the owner they didn't answer but text me. I believe they answered my friend.
Cheap though compared to other places in the area so I will give them that.
Apparently the other guests had a row but that isn't really the owners fault.
- Pat (5/5): Wouldn't stay again - Room was clean, great advice given prior to trip re buses.
Key arrangements very efficient
5 mins from bus stop, 15 from tube makes great location Bathroom dirty, no plugs in sink or bath, lock dodgy
Had kettle and coffee but no tea, no milk no spoon
Hall light didn't work
At nearly 70 a bunk bed with vertical ladder was awful to get into and worse to get out of
- Sanjiv (4/5): Disappointing - It was fair to middling. Nothing was outstanding The toilet was ppen in the room as was the bath, (the shower wasn't usable.), with no doors or curtains. There was another, communal, bathroom but I'd specified private. Thos is not a 'private' bathroom in any way.
- Joan (7/5): Good - Good stay at walpole house. This is a room on the 3rd floor of a private house and it has a bathroom in the room. it is very near to turnpike lane station and not far from tottenham hale, so it is easy if you need to get to stanstead The bathroom is really inside the room with no physical barrier. The room is on the second floor with a narrow stair and no lift. In the night the neighbourhood
is lonely
- Ruby (7/5): Good -
- Evelyn (8/5): But everything else is perfect - Very quite and coded place
- Nathalie (6/5): Pleasant - Spacious room, en-suite bathroom, quiet, fan No TV, kitchen almost unusable, no space, packed fridge & freezer, crumbs in the bed wondering if clean sheets, not friendly staff, only one small window in loft room.
- Sonia (10/5): A wonderful homely stay - Was such a lovely stay, the room was so much cuter in person & they give some tea n coffee packets in your room. It was gorgeously decorated that we took lots of nice pics! Felt like somebody’s nice home :) I have no dislikes about this place as everything was lovely
- Zane (8/5): Nice, clean, safe, secure and private. Good stay. - Nice quiet house in quiet street. The room was nice and clean. Check-in instructions were very easy to understand. Had a kind of boutique bathroom. That was nice and interesting. There are places in front of the house to park your car. Keep in mind this is a bunk kinda bed, so if you can't climb the ladder it would be for you. There is a kitchen but i didn't use it. So i don't know.
- Anzulewicz (2/5): Dirty accommodation- would not recommend - Location was good Very dirty house, bathroom downstairs didn’t close (the door), very dirty bathroom upstairs, kitchen dirty and messy. Would not recommend. If you pay you should have some minimum standards at least - not in this place.
- Ms (7/5): Decent stay :) would just get a double room next time! - I loved the house & bath tub! Huge kitchen too. The location was decent. Shops were a bit far away but really nice street & shops near by. I didn't know I was having a bunk bed room so was a bit disappointed as I had to climb up the bed which was dangerous lol. Apart from that, everything was cool.
- John (6/5): Pleasant -
- Matthew (3/5): Poor -
- Henderson (10/5): Walks - 35 min from Hotspur stadium 10 min walk from the closest bus stop
- Charls (3/5): Awful - Parking on driveway Shared bathroom was not mentioned. Linen was not clean. So noisy room.
- Natalie (9/5): Great communication great value - Really good value for money and perfect for what we needed - somewhere to stay after a concert at Tottenham
- Martin (6/5): Not good - The bed am 56 years old and sleeping in a boko bed not good I have go up a ladder as well
- Erlis (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was nice clean and comfy
- Monika (6/5): Pleasant - View from the window, coffee, tea and kettle, quite nice and clean, comfortable bed, quite big room, nice parks nearby Unfortunately, it was not so obvious from the information and we were surprised and embarrassed, that the toilet bowl and bathtub were exactly in the room, without any wall or curtain...
- Nadia (7/5): Good -
- Rob (7/5): Good -
- Tasha (7/5): Good value for price and relatively comfortable - The bed and bedding was good quality and the roll top bath was nice the adaptive power points were great It was very hot definitely needs more ventilation or fans and a curtain in front of the toilet would be a good touch also it was cluttered with hosts personal belongings which could have been removed
- Massimiliano (8/5): Very good! Not expensive and clean! - Room very comfortable and clean Nothing
- Darren (4/5): Really disappointed that it was not as described from the picture or words - From the picture i was under the understanding I would have a single or double bed, not a bunk bed and top bunk bed to climb up stairs, I'm not a 13 year old having a sleep over!!!!!
- Sam (2/5): Misleading pictures - Nothing Everything
- Chris (1/5): Bad - The desk The constant smell of fried meat all day long, i think they were cooking for a restaurant, and the lack of toilet paper
- Martin (7/5): Good -
- Megan (8/5): Very good -
- Abby (4/5): Disappointing - No contact with host to let me know check in details (code to door) or when they'd send the code.
Arrived half hour before check in to possibly leave bags.
Phone number didn't work, couldn't contact the host at all. Knocked on door and waited outside property for 20 minutes. When someone finally answered, they said they couldn't help me and they know nothing about bookings. Started to think I'd been scammed. Received email 10 mins before check in with the code to door. Maybe an email letting me know I'd receive it around check in time would've helped.
No toilet roll next to toilet. Had to go through the draws to find some. 'ensuite' was a toilet in the bedroom. Not even a curtain.. free standing bath leaked all over the floor. Dirt and dust everywhere. Light above mirror didn't work. Shared bathroom on 2nd floor filthy.
Good for just a bed to sleep in. So disappointed as the pictures looked really nice.
- Annalise (3/5): Only good if you are literally just there to sleep - Close to Alexandra palace Owner was uncountable and there was a funny smell
- Lucy (8/5): Very good -
- Shahroze (10/5): Love it - Room location Booking .com
- Taha (3/5): A loft room featuring a bed adjacent to a bathtub and toilet without any partition. -
- Shannon (10/5): Perfect price for what you get! - Great location, easy check-in and check out, clean and tidy property. Would have been nice for some curtains/privacy screen for the toilet/bath but it wasn’t a major issue!
- Melville (9/5): Superb -
- Lesia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fids72 (7/5): A good night's kip - Decent space, comfy bed, clean towels and nice bath. Bit of mould round the velux window. Tea making equipment but no kettle!
- Ndukwe (1/5): Bad - Wrong Address, called the number on my booing receipt, number does not exist. Did not see the hotel nor even entered in. My £71 just went into thin air. I need my money back. Feel I Was Scammed.
- Ewa (7/5): Good - The place was in a peaceful and quiet area. The room was small and at the same time enough for my needs. There was a bunk bed and a desk below. It was a bit incovenient to bent below the bed to get to the desk but once I sat down on the chair everything was fine. There were towels and slippers provided. As well as a kettle with a glass and coffee to drink. And everything was clean and tidy. The use of bathroom was actully the only nuisance. Other people were using it for such a long time that I had to wait for more than an hour in the evening to get in there and still there was someone knocking on my door even though I had just enterd the bathroom. Fortunately in the morning it was somehow easier to get in there.
- Kallie (5/5): Wouldn't stay again - The bed was comfy We had to wait 1 hour in a hallway because the keys were incorrect! After a whole day of travelling!
Communication with staff was very poor!
- James (4/5): Disappointing -
- Hendrika (7/5): Good - The instructions for entry, the key safe , WiFi were all clear and easy to follow.
Bed was comfortable, useful to have a hairdryer and kettle. The shared bathroom was not as clean as could be - there are long-term guests so there was a feel of a family bathroom with personal items left around.
People leaving for work very early woke me up.
Toilet paper - you have to remember to take it with you each time you go to bathroom.
Slippers are not single person use!
Also - I had to climb into a bunk bed which I was unprepared for! And wardrobe space was difficult to access in that room as at back of bunk bed.
Public transport is a good walk away - plan for extra time to get anywhere.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Rooms clean and comfortable No tv
- Ajfo (6/5): Ok-ish room in a house of multiple occupancy with the cleanliness of a student house. - • Bed was comfy and clean
• Room quite large
• Near to Alexandra Palace • Completely anonymous entry into what turns out to be some kind of 'shared house' along the vibe vibe of a student house or HouseOfMultipleOccupancy.
• No obvious staff other than a busy kitchen of people who do not speak English but did appear to be in charge as I had to get one to change our towels as they were wet on arrival ! ( She laughed as she gave us new clean ones, thankfully ! )
• Very busy corridor outside our room ( of people coming and going into the kitchen / down the stairs / in and out )
• Bathroom up a flight of fairly dirty stairs leading to what can at best be described as a 'student' bathroom. Complete with a massive Fairy liquid being used as handsoap. Loads of toothbrushes. Bathtub with no shower curtain. Filthy round the edges of the sink / matt and floor. Not acceptable standard for a BnB.
- Jasmine (4/5): Nice room but a strange set up - The room was nice and the owner was very fast at contacting me when I messaged them. The area was quiet and felt safe When I arrived the room hadn’t been cleaned, there is a family living in the property and one of them was quite sick. We could hear everything from our room and didn’t feel the most comfortable during our stay
- Johannes (9/5): Superb -
- T (5/5): Ok for one night only - Good decor. Parking outside. 20min walk from Turnpike Lane. The bed was very comfy and pillows. Room 3. Top floor. I had trouble with the key and door. It doesn't lock properly very fidgety. Called Steven no response. Very strange off food smell in the corridor and hallway. Front door and second door also trouble locking up. The other family just left it open and struggled too. Bath and toilet in the room a bit much. Family downstairs banging doors, shouting, coughing up. Up so early, very cold in the room. Radiators in room but heat doesn't travel so far. Walls very thin so can hear everything. The room was dusty and not cleaned for arrival. Very disappointed.
- Badger69 (6/5): Pleasant -
- Hannah (8/5): Very good -
- Richa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jodi (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Very good. You can live on your own here! -
- Les (5/5): Passable - The venue was close to where I was working the following day. There was no heating in the room, which made the room very cold. It was a shared bath room, which was fine, but there was no shower curtain and only a hand shower with no holder.
- Abdelghani (4/5): Disappointing - No comments. No comments
- Jonathan (7/5): Good -
- Paula (9/5): Superb - The bed was very comfortable, I love the bath in the room
- Marina (6/5): Pleasant -
- Voudoy (8/5): Very good -
- Matthew (9/5): This really is all about the value. If you’re after basic accommodation 15 mins from a tube station, here is absolutely - Excellent value for London. Comfortable place to stay with easy access to Central London. Sure you can stay in better places, but you’d be paying a lot more money. Book here for excellent value So the room was very small but that’s why it was cheap.
- Hugo (7/5): Good -
- Augustine_c (7/5): Nice Airbnb-like option at a good price (for London) - Nice comfortable double bed, and the property is located in a safe and strategic suburban area (about a 10 minutes walk from Turnpike Lane station on the Piccadilly line, there are two parks close by). The landlord was also kind enough to let me check in early. The house (particularly the kitchen, the bathroom, the toilet and the living room) is shared with long-term tenants (3 rooms are for short-term tenants), so this could be a slightly awkward arrangement for some people. E.g. if you needed to leave early, you would probably need to wait your turn for the kitchen and bathroom.
- Balaji (4/5): Disappointing - Properly communicated about the room and key collection
Flexible with check in and check out A very bad smell (sea food ) as soon as I entered the house. As a vegetarian it was difficult for me to stay inside the house.
No water in the room and no information about the kitchen
- Mohd (7/5): Not suitable for solo traveller who use public transport - Its bot tourist area and quite. Far from everything
- Jacqueline (5/5): Passable -
- Simon (7/5): Efficient hosts and a clean, well priced room. - The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Having the toilet and the bath in the room is unusual but fine if you are travelling alone.
It is a good 15 minute brisk walk to the tube.
