The hosts were very nice and even left a friendly note, snacks and drinks. It was very clean and had everything you would need. I highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area. The floor was a bit sticky.

The complete package was excellent, from communication with Melania and Stuart to the many additional extras in the Lodge f.o.c. for our benefit, and everything in between. The Lodge was spotless and fresh smelling, parking is excellent and situated in a very quiet area. Absolutely nothing to dislike.
- Anna-Louise (10/5): Excellent place to stay would definitely use again and recommend. Do consider this as an option to stay as would a 100 p - Everything!! The set up was perfect and we didn’t want for anything, everything was thought of even down to sanitary wear for the ladies. The thought that has gone into this property was wonderful. It was peaceful fully self contained and only a ten minute walk to the beach front. Nothing at all

- Rick (10/5): - September weekend break lucky with weather so lots of walking in lovely seaside surroundings.
Beautifully depicted and so exactly as described on Booking.com
Light and airy with all the mod cons ( Bed just so comfy for an 11am departure) and goodies to die for provided for a weekend/short break and within walking distance of sea plus Whitstable.
Very clean and comfortable - Melanie the perfect landlady..... Having to return home:)

The lodge was spotless and with the many extras provided took the enjoyment of the stay to a higher level.
10 minutes walk at most to the seafront at Tankerton and various pubs and restaurants within a few minutes drive. Absolutely nothing to complain about....

- Ashley (10/5): Wish I’d stayed longer than one night to really appreciate it. - Spotless, looked brand new and was incredibly well stocked with everything you could need from toothpaste and deodorant to snacks, bread and pastries, milk and so much more! Nothing really. A bit of noise from trains passing quite closely by, but as I was looking for a property close to a railway station that was fine with me.
- Trevor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): A great place to stay - It was a lovely place to stay that was exceptionally well provisioned and had everything you could possibly want or need. - Shaun (10/5): Really comfortable stay well taken care of! - Wow. What a super host. The place was clean, comformatable, private. She even stocked up coffee, snacks and crisps. Coffee machine with excellent coffee. Really accommodating! Super super host! Nothing
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful Lodge, amazing decor, and attention to details, we were touched by the perfect choice for breakfast, very generous. We were greeted by the hand written card which made us feel even more welcomed. Everything was good, not too far from the station, however to get to whitstable you can take either train or bus, which is ok. The train noises outside were present but didn't bother us at night at all.
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully presented.
Great communication.
Private space.
The added extras were so kind and thoughful. The owners should be so proud of what they have achieved. Nothing

- Amanda (10/5): Lovely , near beach and pub & whistable a nice little walk away - Small lodge that has everything, facilities good , very Clean , property finished to a good standard , has everything you would need, lots of choice for breakfast available in the room ,amazing hosts that were very accommodating left us a welcome card & box of biscuits would love to stay again . Nothing
- Marko (9/5): I loved the place and would happily stay there again. - It had all the facilities I needed. It was clean, tidy and attractively furnished, with plenty of food and coffee in the kitchen, toiletries in the bathroom and good wifi. The landlady was very helpful in answering questions before I arrived. My only criticism is that it was quite difficult to find, particularly in the dark; there could have been more street signposting, and once through the gate, it wasn't immediately clear which door to go into.
- Dean (10/5): Lovely, lovely, lovely place. Made us feel welcome and gave us a special stay. - Had everything we could possibly need for a lovely stay. Layout of the lodge was excellent and immaculately put together. Absolutely nothing- marvellous place.
- Callam (10/5): Highly reccommend. Will stay here again lovely little home - Really lovely little place great access to town and such a nice place really well put together
- Averil (10/5): Quiet space with all the mod cons and small touches of kindness to make your stay a good one - Very clean had everything you could possibly need. So many extra little touches that made you feel welcome and looked after. Nothing all good. Personal preference being a larger person a king size rather than a double. If I was on my own it would have been perfect.
- Marina (8/5): Cosy and clean , perfect for short stay /couples ! - Cosy and clean
Lots of choices for breakfast Property Felt too close to the main household ?
Trampoline in the garden - spoilt the vibe
- Alex (10/5): A fantastic Lodge with everything you want - This place is perfect for a weekend trip. It's in a great location and there were so many thoughtful details that you won't find elsewhere such as a continental breakfast, toothpaste, toothbrush and full large bottles of shampoo and body wash!
- Adrian (8/5): Very good -
- Spencer (10/5): Great space with lots of food options. Very clean and tidy. - Options for food in the room were great. Very clean, well thought out. Room was as described and perfect for what we needed.
- David (9/5): Ideally situated for Canterbury, Ramsgate and Margate ( 20 mins ) and the town itself was a great - The amount of choice was exceptional. Yoghurts, all the cereal you could think of, two different loaves, two types of croissants, mixture of teas, coffee machine, fruit and the list goes on. Genuinely couldn’t fault it.
- Rachel (9/5): Quiet and comfortable - Very quiet. Exceedingly well stocked with everything for breakfast plus extra snacks. Well located for access to cycle routes. Surprisingly spacious. Off road parking. Kitchenette did not have a water supply. The owners supply water in plastic bottles but this is not ideal if you are trying to cut the amount of single use plastic that you use. We managed by filling the kettle from the tap in the bathroom using the jug that they supplied.
- Julie (10/5): Wonderful with everything we could need - Loved all the extra touches. Really pretty accessories and flowers. Clean. Smart modern. Great communication letting us park early. So easy to get in. Lovely welcoming card and biscuits. Everything we needed and even toothbrushes available. Really thought of everything to make your stay the best. We even watched a film on Netflix we had wanted to see for ages. Walked 45 mins into the centre stopping for lunch. Great great great. Would definitely come again and will tell friends. The trains are loud but I have ear plugs for sleeping and husband didn’t hear. Also think they stop before bed. Just made me jump. Didn’t brother us really.
- Knowles (9/5): Although we didn’t meet our hosts we didn’t need to ask for anything as everything had been thought of and a nice birthd - Clean
Well equipped
Nicely decorated
Lots of extra snacks etc Nothing
- Heaton (10/5): Lovely - Too much food
- Rachel (9/5): A great little base for exploring the local area. Great if you want to be left to your own devices. - The location was very good as a base close to Whitstable. 3 minute walk to a good pub, a short drive to a Sainsbury's or other pubs on the dual carriageway / bypass, a 10 minute walk up to the coast. Located in a quiet, safe, private road. We were told to use their drive to park our car during our 3 day stay. Bus stop right at the entrance to the road as well, so handy for when we did the coastal walk from Whitstable to Herne Bay, and took the bus back.
As it was self contained, there was no breakfast, BUT!... the owners provided absolutely everything needed for a great stay. Loads of breakfast items (2 loaves of bread, croissants, pastries, biscuits, cereals, jams etc, as well as a stocked fridge including yogurts, orange juice, butter, water - loads of different coffees and teas, so literally everything you could want.)
Also graciously provided every kind of toiletry you might need, including toothbrushes!
Great portable fan and good TV reception for Netflix / BBC Iplayer etc for the evenings. Only draw back is the proximity to the train track which runs close to the house. In the evening the sound of the trains which pass quite regularly until about 10pm was quite loud. Otherwise perfect
This is a very minor thing (as most people will be wowed by the level of food/drink left at the property), but the fridge is quite small, and it was already completely stocked with many foods we would not normally eat. The same with food/snacks left everywhere. (My partner has strict dietary requirements and needed space in the fridge for food we brought with us, so this was just a little inconvenient, but really can't complain at the generosity!)
- Keesha (10/5): Had a lovely welcoming host who really did put extra effort into her facilities and made it feel so special with here li - The property was beautiful and had so many little extras that I did not expect for example it had everything someone could need for example the bathroom was well stocked on toiletries, the kitchen was stocked up with anything you could want for breakfast, choice of cereal, toast, fresh fruit, milk and water. It’s so rare to get a property that actually has everything you may need. There was nothing that I did not like about the stay I will definitely consider coming again in the future
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anita (10/5): We will happily use Elmwood lodge again - Excellent location very clean so much choice for breakfast and lots of snacks
- Dodsworth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (10/5): Luxurious and well appointed, met all our requirements for a night away in Whitstable - Beautifully appointed, host had thought of everything, so many goodies, homemade muffins, fruit and breakfast. It ifelt very private even though the lodge was in their garden. Would definitely recommend. Nothing major comes to mind.
- Joanne (10/5): Melanie and Stuart went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable . Thankyou - Very comfortable . Exceptionally well equipped Nothing
- Tony (9/5): Superb - Excellent facilities and enough snacks to feed an army.
Really well done Nothing
- Samantha (10/5): Relaxing weekend - Lovely relaxing lodge with lots of extra personal touches.
Amazing comfortable bed, toiletries and great selection for breakfast.
Owners have thought of everything.

- Damon (10/5): Perfect - 2nd time staying here while working away from home. Lovely place. Nothing
- Freddie (10/5): Fantastic stay! - The Lodge had everything you needed and more for a short stay. The host went above and beyond with refreshments, snacks and things for breakfast. Great location, lovely half an hour walk along the beach to Whitstable. Very impressed and would happily stay here again.
- Lesd58 (10/5): Amazing stay so many treats - Purfect location for coast visits
Amazing breakfast selection
Everything you need for an overnight stay Couldn’t get an Uber. So maybe a taxi number
- Damon (10/5): Perfect. - Everything was perfect. Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Hosts were amazing. The lodge located rear of their property but no issues with privacy. Plenty of supplies including snacks, they thought of everything. There wasn't anything not to like.
- Somerville (10/5): A perfect 3 night stay, wish it had been longer, will definitely stay again. - The owners thought of everything you could want for a continental breakfast, and more! There was nothing not to like!
- Zandrea (9/5): Just right and more - Very welcoming with extra thought given about my dietary requirements. You really feel looked after with breakfast supplied and treats. I like to spend a lot of time outside so I was conscious of being in the garden but perfect for my overnight stay for work and only 10mins walk from the station Nothing at all,
- Paul (10/5): Lovely lodge close to all of the attractions. - We stayed at Elmwood Lodge because it was the closest accommodation to a centenary ball we were attending at Chestfield Golf Club. The lodge was much better than a hotel room and like a home from home. We were spoilt for choice of snacks drinks and breakfast options. The location is perfect 10 minute walk to the beach and 15 minute walk to the golf club. The hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We will definitely book again. The privacy through the doors to the garden could be improved.
- Georgia (10/5): Perfect stay :) - Perfect for us! Very comfy bed with lots of snacks and toiletries which was a lovely touch Bright in the mornings if you’re not an early riser
- Terri (10/5): the hosts went over and above what you would expect. Just perfect 😍 - Such a lovely stay! the host had thought of everything and more to make the stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible! what with all of the little touches and the abundance of snacks and provisions, it is clear that they have a passion in what they do! lovely peaceful comfortable stay, thank you so much x there is nothing not to like!
- Ericka (10/5): Amazing lodge, very clean, everything you need. - Absolutely amazing, very clean, had everything we needed, loads of food and drink suppled, even tooth brushes and toothpaste. just a shame we were out all day and literally just slept there. Nothing to not like.
- David (10/5): Fantastic little room - Very comfortable and nice place to stay. Well stocked with useful supplies. As in tea, breakfast and cups/cutlery/crockery Could do with better curtains/blinds to help block out the early morning light. But that's so minor.
- Annabel (10/5): Lodge is beautifully clean and spacious. The amenities are excellent - Very clean lodge, lovely bedding and towels. Breakfast, snacks, water tea/coffee selection is excellent
- Sharon (10/5): Fantastic - highly recommend:) - Wow! An absolute gem of a property. I stayed here for two nights whilst visiting a poorly relative, and i couldn’t have asked for a better place to come back to each evening to relax. The hosts have thought of every little thing to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable.
- David (10/5): Wonderful - What a wonderful place to stay. Very well equipped, and the owners have considered everything! Coffee machine, breakfast, bath towels, snacks and biscuits.....and a VERY COMFORTABLE bed... I didn't want to leave today. Shower was luscious and there were ample plug sockets throughout the lodge.
The personal touches are so kind, and I couldn't fault my stay at all. Thank you Melanie and Stuart for your card, it was indeed a fantastic birthday. I loved everything
- John (10/5): Fantastic experience! - Elmwood is in a great location, a few minutes walk from Chestfield Station and close to Tankerton Slopes. Melanie put a lot of effort into making Elmwood feel more like a five-star hotel than a B&B. From the choice of cereals to the deluxe coffee and anything you could possibly need in the bathroom. The welcome card was nice touch too! The only minor change would be to have somewhere to wash up the utensils in the kitchen.
- Nicola (10/5): Comfortable, clean and a real gem of a place - This property has been tastefully converted and decorated. The owners has thought of everything:
No kitchen as such but a lovely breakfast bar with coffees/ teas/water/ fresh croissants/ fresh pancakes/ fresh fruit/ jams/cereals/ cookies/ chocolate / crisps and fresh milk and butter in the fridge. Even a microwave!
A selection of toiletries were in the bathroom- very thoughtful idea! Definitely a woman’s touch !
Very warm, cosy and comfortable. We stayed New Years Eve and it was perfect and as we visit Whitstable a lot, we will definitely be back.
This is a new property and I hope the owners have success renting out as they have really thought of everything to make your stay personal and comfortable .
Thank you Melanie/ Stuart from Nikki and Paul x Nothing to report
- Pat (10/5): More than I expected and I will definitely stay again - The accommodation was well presented, clean and well stocked with essentials not to mention things that were above my expectations.
There were plenty of breakfast supplies as well as toiletries in the shower room.
Although I never saw the hosts (it was after all Christmas), I was able to communicate with them them easily via WhatsApp. I was their first visitor, so there were a couple of things that I have suggested to the hosts that could be improved. None of the items were bad, and one has been completely resolved.
Entry to the property is via a gate with a key pad. The little handle on the keypad was small and had it been wet, it could have been difficult to pull the gate open. I would suggest a handle attached to the gate to make it easier.
The shower is lovely but the floor is very slippery so a bath at would make it safer.
The WiFi password supplied was wrong but I finally managed to log in with assistance from the hosts and I have amended the notice board on the wall to show the correct password.
