It’s a family business and they personally take care of their guests. I love the building. I love the exceptional spa. The food at the restaurant is good. The building is fresh renewed with beautiful rooms. I prefer when the bathrooms have floor heating, especially in the winter because you don’t get cold when you spend some time at the bathroom.

Hotel shuttle doesn’t start until after 7am and we had a 7am train. Had to take a very expensive 5 minute taxi to the station. Not the hotel’s fault but plan accordingly.

• Deia (10/5): Cosy, relaxing and welcoming - We loved every moment at hotel Steinbock. The staff was incredibly attentive and kind. The food was great, we ate both nights in the hotel restaurant and the room was clean and welcoming. The spa is a clear highlight of our stay, where we were able to relax fully. The breakfast buffet was abundant and all the ingredients felt fresh. The lobby has an adjacent room to get coffee or tea which is very welcoming, ideal to unwind. I celebrated my 30th birthday and could not have wished for a better place.

• Anne (9/5): Excellent staff, lovely spa. - The hotel staff were wonderful, the spa was fantastic, and the bed and room were spare but comfortable. I stay in Pontresina for the ski race every year and it was delightful to sleep in this historic hotel with such friendly, attentive staff. Generally there's quite a bit of corridor noise, but luckily everyone kept reasonable hours (as is common in Switzerland) and the location is quiet so no noise from outside.

• Armin (10/5): Swiss hotel tradition at its best - It’s a historic building run for generations by the same family. Renovated with great taste and a special flair. The service is outstanding, staff very helpful, friendly and professional, paying attention to all the small extras. Food is delicious, from breakfast to dinner, with high quality local products. Free access to the spa. Beautiful lobby for teatime with cakes or for drinks at neighboring Hotel Walther . You have to get out and walk a few steps in the cold to reach the spa in the neighboring building. But that’s not a big issue.

The wonderful waitress that served us was swreet and made us feel at home. The room was large by european standards and well appointed. The spa was beautiful and offered everything one could expect. We enjoyed the sauna, a massage, the facility and relaxed poolside while watching it snow outside. Es war höchstens 10 m² gross, WC und Dusche befanden sich separat ausserhalb des Zimmers. Preis und Leistung standen in einem klaren Missverhältnis. Für CHF 214.– musste ich bisher noch nie in einem derart kleinen und einfachen Zimmer übernachten. Zudem befanden sich Pool und Sauna in einem anderen Hotel, sodass man über eine verschneite Strasse gehen musste, um diese zu erreichen. Nachdem ich aufgrund der Enge Platzangst bekam, wurde seitens der Rezeptionistin zudem darauf verzichtet, mir den bezahlten Betrag zurückzuerstatten.

Jedoch nicht weiter schlimm, wenn man sich dessen bewusst ist.

Wellness&Spa Eccezionale, se vi piace rilassarvi e godere della bellissima e particolare enorme Spa, assolutamente bisogna prendere in considerazione questa struttura. Personale molto disponibile e gentile per soddisfare il Cliente, tuttavia per un mio personale errore ho prenotato camera con bagno in comune, il personale mi ha subito trovato un'altra camera di mia soddisfazione. Vi ringrazio per la vostra ospitalità, cortesia e gentilezza sempre con un bel sorriso ad accogliervi. Attenzione se arrivate con l'auto fare attenzione a non avvicinarvi alla barriera del parcheggio sotterraneo, situata ca. 30 m piú avanti sulla sinistra ( facciata grigia non subito distinguibile), perché questo sprovvisto di citofono, quindi non é possibile farvi aprire la sbarra per entrarvici. Hanno 4 parcheggi sulla strada ma sempre occupati quindi, lasciare l'auto sul marciapiede di lato all'Hotel con le 4 frecce rischiando una contravvenzione, entrare fare il chek-in, vi danno la tessera per entrare in garage. Attenzione se prenotate con Booking, hanno delle stanze con il bagno in comune, e scritto ma non evidenziato in anteprima.

• Hailin (10/5): You won’t be disappointed to stay here - We stayed at Hotel Steinbeck for 2 nights to catch the Bernina Express and really enjoyed our stay here. The check-in staff was very friendly and offered to carry the luggage to our room. It was a classic hotel with an excellent restaurant and we were served with nutritious breakfast of a good variety and the lady who run the restaurant for breakfast was very friendly and efficient. Pontresina is a nice little town with majestic views of the mountains surrounding it and it is very quiet comparing to the big cities.

Knowing this was a family run operation made it just that much more enjoyable. The decor in this hotel was incredible. Everything was so chic but also warm and welcoming and warm. Very romantic. Eine kurze Orientierung dieser Einschränkung vor dem Zimmerbezug hätte ich begrüsst. Diesen Punkt habe ich an der Rezeption vermerkt.
