Good selection at breakfast and the hotel restaurant does a great choice of Austrian dishes. Reception sometimes infrequently staffed.

• Jan (10/5): Best hotel in area! - I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at home. The owners were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and we had several lovely conversations that made the experience even more special. The hotel itself was spotless, and the room was very comfortable, providing everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was excellent, with a great selection and high-quality food. I also highly recommend the on-site restaurant—it offers a fantastic dining experience. Parking can often be a challenge in Austria, but this hotel makes it easy with its own convenient parking area, which I really appreciated. Overall, this was an outstanding experience. I only wish more hotels were like this! I will definitely be returning in the future.

Ich habe mich als Gast sehr wohl gefühlt.Die Chefin hat uns viele interessante Details zur Hotelgeschichte und zum laufenden Betrieb erzählt. Ich kann das Hotel Kendler uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Nichts das gravierend genug wäre es hier erwähnen zu müssen.

• Bakheet (8/5): تجربة جيدة لكن لا أنصح به في الصيف - الفندق نظيف والعاملين لطفاء والموقع ممتاز جداً الغرفة واسعة وفيها عزل السرير مريح لا يوجد تكييف توقيتي كان مثالي الأجواء كانت باردة نوعاً ما والإفطار يبدأ متأخر من الساعة 8 لغاية 10 ساعتين فقط ولا يوجد تنوع بالإفطار كل يوم نفس الفطور والمواقف بعيدة عن الفندق لا يوجد ثلاجة في الغرفة والوسادة مزعجة ومتعبة

Super dass man beim Frühstück sich selbst den geräucherten Schicken schneiden kann. Der war wunderbar. Das Bett war auch bequem und alles sehr sauber. Ich persönlich hätte mir beim Frühstück einen hochwertigeren Kaffee gewünscht und bessere Semmeln/Brötchen. Also insgesamt lieber vielleicht etwas weniger Auswahl aber dafür bessere Qualität.

• Gerhard (7/5): Zweckmäßig und wenig Emotion - Abends ist in St Gilgen alles rasch geschlossen. Auch das Hotel hat nach 20.15 keine Küche und ab 21.30 keine Getränke. Die Getränkeautomaten sind keine schöne Alternative.

The hotel is an old building but beautiful modernised with lovely rooms. There’s a good menu in the restaurant and a fantastic breakfast provided. No air con or fan available on the exceptionally hot days.

We did miss not having a kettle in our room as we would have liked to make a hot drink when the restaurant was closed. I will book direct with the hotel next time we stay and will not use Booking.com to book as the hotel did not receive my money from Booking.com for our stay despite my account being debited. I had paid 6 weeks before my trip and I had to pay the hotel again for our stay then get a refund from Booking.com when I returned to UK. So my advice to all future guests Book direct with hotel NOT BOOKING.COM
