- Louisa (4/5): - The location was fantastic. The hotel was very cheap The bar was not a welcoming place to sit. It was very dirty and cluttered. The whole hotel has random things just left lying about.
- John (9/5): All good, I would book & stay at Charnley Gold again! - Great central location, only a couple of minutes walk to the Prom!
Really good breakfast, lots of choice.
Comfy bed, I would stay here again. The weather!
- Larraine (10/5): Will be back, and wish the hosts the best of luck - Hosts very welcoming, we had room 14 and it had 2 singles and a double, I slept in single as it was so comfortable, massive tv, plenty tea/ coffee facilities and if I needed anything the hosts were amazing, I’d recommend the breakfast also, set us up for the day Just dated but for the money I payed I was delighted
- alan (2/5): Cheap but not worth it ! - clean towels Walking in smelt of stale cigarettes, broken furniture, dated room and dated bedding. Extremely small bathroom had to have door open to use wash basin.
- Bridget (9/5): It was very nice and breakfast was really good - Cosy and handy location . Owner’s were really lovely and the breakfast was wonderful . Clean and comfortable Bathroom was a bit small

- Gerald Toralf (5/5): Wer etwas Komfort mag sollte eine andere Unterkunft buchen - Lag im Zentrum.
Vieles was wir unternahmen war fußläufig erreichbar Die Zimmer waren viel zu klein .
- linda (10/5): Felt at home - The host were lovely The room was comfortable but ceiling paper not very nice
- Lacey (10/5): - The staff was really welcoming and friendly. Nothing that I disliked, but the doors was a bit of a struggle to lock.
- Elaine (10/5): Fantastic location and Breakfast highly recommended! - Stayed here for a long weekend and the hotel is located in a prime location with Blackpool promenade only a 2 minute walk which was great. I highly recommend a cooked breakfast. There was a great choice and as we had a five year old daughter, she had a choice of cereal or cooked breakfast. They did scrambled eggs on toast for her which she commented were better than her dad's! Which is a huge compliment as she's very fussy! Even had a couple of toys for her to play with. We had a cooked breakfast every day for 3 days and it was just amazing, made the mistake of having everything our first morning, didn't eat again all day until about 7pm! Didn't drink in the available bar but prices were reasonably good with some offers available on beer and cider. The room was clean and the beds were clean and comfy. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming and staff members the same. All doing an amazing job. Yes, the hotel is looking tired but they are working on improving that. We got to see the new wallpaper that will be going up in hallways and discussed the paint colour throughout which I am sure will look fantastic when completed. There is so much to do and see in Blackpool that you don't spend much time in your hotel anyway!
- David (10/5): -
- Guest (10/5): it did what it said on the on the box - All of it it was great Nothing
- Carole (10/5): Excellent - Breakfast was excellent, the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and upon arrival, we were greeted by the lovely hosts. Storm and Stephanie, who went out of their way to help carry our luggage to our room, even baby Aurora was gaining beautiful hosting skills with a smile that would melt anyone's heart. The owners, Julie and Andrea, are great hosts and very accommodating; all in all, a great team, and we look forward to our next stay There was nothing to dislike
- John (10/5): - Me and my partner had pleasant 3day stay at the charnley gold hotel breakfast really good and tastey cooked to order 👍
- Andrew (10/5): - The ability to choose, from a list, what you wanted on the cooked breakfast. You could also choose from fried, scrambled or poached eggs. Beans and tinned tomatoes arrive in their own pot, which gives you the option if you want to mix on the plate or not. Yes tinned tomatoes should be on the breakfast menu, half a fresh tomatoe belongs in the bin There was nothing that was wrong with my stay.
- Jodie (9/5): Lovely little room for what we needed. Would definitely come back - Very homely. Lovely staff. Red hot water. Great location. Very small shower cubicle
- Powell-watson (10/5): Excellent service and value. - Lovely staff and very welcoming, value for money and near everything. Beautiful breakfast and comfortable room.😀 Room was a little warm but staff provided a fan ASAP and we were very happy 😊
- Winder (10/5): Great lovely couple realy enjoyed. Will go back - The hosts julie and andrie where lovely and friendly . Breakfast great . Would deff stop again 10 out of 10
- Winder (10/5): Great julie and andrie lovely. Breakfast realy good. Will go back - The location was great
- Pauline (1/5): Just don't - Closeness to Tower and shops Started with room changed from twin to double at the last minute, so not very practical.
The room was incredibly dirty. For some strange reason, the heating was on full for the majority of the day, making the room practically impossible to sleep in, as it was very small and also not needed in August. A fan was provided but was too dusty to use. There was a very strong smell of a chemical cleaner that had been used to wipe the toilet seat; it was still wet when we entered.
There was dust on the kettle and stains on the mirror and bins.
There was bird poo on the inside of the blind.
On the final morning, we were served moldy toast, only to be told it was fresh the previous morning.
- Melvyn (10/5): - Very nice hotel very nice owners very good choice at breakfast booked in early and it was not a problem nice hot shower bed room ample space would stay here again if I was in blackpool Nothing not to like
- susan (4/5): Cheap and cheerful. Would not stay there again though - Fairly good location to the centre of town. The time for breakfast was good and the time for checking out was better than most hotels (10.30 am, up to 1.30 pm if you pay an extra £10) The breakfast was basic, although there was a lot of it to be fair and there was a good choice. There were a lot of stairs if you were staying in one of the upper rooms, Room was quite small with not much hanging space. Bathroom light was really noisy. No TV for all of our stay. Did report it to the owners who said it was going to get fixed but did not.
- Robert (7/5): Ok - Location,Huge breakfast Booked a 3 bedded room but given a double and single instead, ensuite a bit cramped
- Guest (4/5): A disappointing stay for a kid free anniversary weekend away - The staff were lovely and the location was perfect for us. We arrived from a huge traffic jam to be told we have no room. After showing confirmation number and that we were on their system we got a twin room instead of double which wasn't ideal for 10th wedding anniversary trip.
Tv didnt work in room, shower was cold and no curtains in room so was awoken by the light each morning.
The breakfast wasn't to our liking and skipped it the 2nd day to go somewhere else.
- Pojunas (9/5): - Breakfast superb location ideal 0
- Gary (7/5): - Location, close to the tower and the centre of Blackpool. Good selection of breakfast. Comfortable bed Bathroom was small.

la prise de la chambre etait défectueuse,
- neil (8/5): -
- YOWZA.yeah (9/5): nice one 👍 - nice &friendly, well situated. room a tad small,& toilet was small.but very comfy,& drinks well stocked.
- Carl (9/5): -
- Karl (8/5): Very good - Great budget hotel in an ideal location for all the attractions The shower cubicle was a tight squeeze, being a larger person.
Also the TV didn't work, which wasn't the end of the world, but we were informed about it on checking in
- Hunter (8/5): Very good -
- Lee (5/5): Passable -
- John (9/5): Superb - Great hosts very down to earth Nothing it was exactly what we wanted

- Anonymous (10/5): Lovely staff and very welcoming. Great breakfast and comfortable rooms. - Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. Excellent location Shower very small
- Angela (8/5): Very good - The staff were very welcoming and friendly and more than happy to accommodate our early breakfast request. The breakfast was excellent, the best I've ever had in Blackpool.. The room could use some TLC but was quite adequate for our requirements.
- Roger (6/5): Pleasant -
- Barry (9/5): Very good - Very good
- Amenze (9/5): Superb - Hosts were very nice and polite
We enjoyed the breakfast
- Howell (8/5): Very good - Hosts very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast excellent.
Very good value for money I have mobility issues so find stairs difficult .
- Grocott (1/5): Horrendous - Nothing Tv didn't work, shower room really small , no black out blind or curtains so was up at 4 o'clock in the morning , rain coming threw roof and soaked all over my bed. All in all absolutely terrible and will certainly not be going back . Made mine and my sons little get away ruined.
- Shimmans (6/5): Great hosts, shame about the room. - The host's we very welcoming and friendly and the breakfast was lovely. Location was brilliant as well. We booked bed, breakfast and evening meal, upon arrival we were informed evening meal was not available and the hosts had asked booking.com to take this off. Our room was about 7ft by 7ft with an ensuite that was about 4ft by 4ft, there was nowhere to put our clothes, the shower was tiny that I found it difficult to get a decent shower. I had to store my crutches in the bathroom as there was nowhere else to put them and the bed had no headboard. Luckily we were only here for 2 nights.
- Julie (8/5): Really enjoyed the stay I don’t know how they are surviving with the price we paid and what we got for our money . Very - The staff were very helpful and it was clean the location was excellent the breakfast was excellent couldn’t fault the property. I really don’t know how they can survive on the service we got and the price we paid . I am glad we stayed . The rooms were very compact but you get what you pay for plus you aren’t in the rooms for long anyways and the dog barking which wasn’t their fault .
- Derek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carts78 (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent hosts and breakfast. Clean
- Lindsey (10/5): Exceptional - Warm welcome. Great location. Comfortable beds. Room was clean and tidy. Good value for money. Great breakfast
- Craig (6/5): Pleasant - Location and staff we're good We booked a double room when we arrived we ended up being told they only had a twin room so what was ment to be a romantic night away our first with no kids or the dog we ended up in separate beds in a tiny box room this really did upset my wife but we got over it then we went down for breakfast which on first glance looked really good then on a closer look realised there was mould on the toast which really put me off the staff was great and changed it straight away but it was too late it just put me right off so not the best of experience unfortunately as I do think they try there best.
- Leanne (1/5): Disgusted with the staff in the hotel - The rooms where clean Now where can I start with this hotel.... when we first got to the hotel the staff where lovley and the staff where in the bar with there baby we thought they where just sitting in until we relised later on that day when we went in for a drink and they had alot of stuff in the bar I think they where using there bar as a living room so that's not very professional, but couldn't be any nicer until my friend who was with me went into the bar to get a drink and the man said we don't have a key to the bar but later on they opened there bar a little later which I'm like right okay why not serve my friend. We went out to a family bar with our children upon return the glass had been smashed in the door which was all over the floor and had not been cleaned up and there was blood on the door when we went to inform someone of the glass they knew and a member of staff was sat rocking crying and shouting on the floor , we took our children up to bed as they were scared and they were shouting screaming and arguing for around an hour , the next morning we got no apology or nothing So we are not happy with the staff as the way we where treated absoloutly disgusting how it wasn't handled professionally, we will be putting a complaint in as well and we won't be back to this hotel or recommend it ever!!
- Jonathan (9/5): Would use again without question. - Super quick check in process (allowed me to check in early too).
Beds mega comfy!
Top notch breakfast - nothing was too much trouble for the staff! Splitting hairs here, but I guess the shower could have been a bit more powerful!
- Gail (10/5): Excellent will be back and highly recommend - Clean friendly and nothing to much bother for the staff Having to leave
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann (10/5): So handy for the Tower Ballroom, 7 mins walk! - Martin was brilliant, made us tea and looked after us all so well, the breakfast was absolutely first class! We will definitely stay there again! Room was a little small, but next time we will just request a larger one.
- Albert (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (9/5): Happy holiday maker - Hosts were very friendly and approachable, i asked for an early checking time and that was duly requested.
Great breakfast variety from a continental to a full english, whatever to choose the chef is more than happy to cook it for you.
Room 6 was very clean .
Only about 6 minutes walk to coral island, and the main shops Ensuite bathroom in room 6 was small, but very clean, so it didnt effect our stay .
- Sophia (10/5): Amazing staff - Staff where amazing it was my mams 70th made it super special, this is not the ritz so don't expect it rooms are clean etc and staff are great nothing is to much trouble great value for money would definitely go back The seagullls
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Jim (8/5): Very good -
- Malcolm (9/5): Superb -
- Lynne (7/5): Very good for the price, good service and location - Breakfast was good, in a good location for what we wanted to do, staff very helpful and friendly Rooms were very small but only there for a couple of nights so that was ok
- Susan (10/5): Brilliant - Everything, staff couldn't do enouigh for you. Great food, perfect location. Nothing.
- David (8/5): simple , efficient and hassle free which is what you look for - breakfast absolutely superb , location absolutely excellent , staff couldn’t do enough
- David (8/5): Very good - Very clean, very quiet, great location, lovely breakfast. Room was a bit small, but still excellent value.
- Gábor (10/5): Wonderful place, staff and breakfast in Blackpool center! - Everything ! Very kind and helpful staff, wonderful breakfast, the best in Blackpool! The situation is close to center, higly reccommended! Nothing.
- Vallypreston (8/5): It's worth trying again - The kind availability of the owners.
I booked here in "emergency" for just one night, in a period when work was at its peak and there was a hitch with the move to the new house. I had to get up early and breakfast was served about 2 hours later.
The owners got up before dawn just for me, to prepare breakfast.
So I couldn't properly evaluate the structure, and its services as they should be, and for this reason in the title I write that I think it deserves a chance. But I think if the owners were so kind as to prepare breakfast for me in advance, I think they will also be extraordinary during a normal stay. I haven't had enough time to assess what's wrong
- Douglas (10/5): Exceptional - This hotel is the best in Blackpool breakfast is outstanding the chef is the best and his partner is super good at her job rooms fantastic all round great hotel will definitely be back again and aging Nothing to no like it's just simply the best
- Duncan (9/5): Superb - A great stay. Very central location. I didn't catch the name of the lovely couple that looked after us for the weekend but they made us feel very welcome indeed. We'll definitely be back next year! The breakfast was cooked to perfection and the great chef will cook it to your individual desire. The hotel itself is comfortable and although not 5*, is absolutely great for a weekend stay. Thanks for your lovely welcome and your attention in making it a great stay! Nothing! It was great. Thank you!
