- barry (9/5): Really enjoyed our time in this lovely property - Lovely and cozy and only 5 min walk to beach Property was great but If I was to say anything negative ( and this is only personal) it would be the shower needs more power.
- shaun (10/5): Excellent house and very good value for money - The location was very good
- Frances (10/5): Lovely, quiet, well appointed holiday house. - Extremely clean and well appointed cottage. Very quiet with easily accessible parking. The hostess is very diligent and responds immediately to any enquiries. Short walk to the beach.

Lovely property with everything you could need. A lovely welcome basket was waiting for us which was a lovely touch. It was like home from home.
Complimentary tray on arrival was lovely
Host always on hand. A lovely message to ask if there is anything you need.
Not far from the beach, or Berwick. Lovely and peaceful.
We would for definite stay here again N/A

- Sabine (10/5): Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt!
- Helen Dawn (10/5): - Very clean, comfortable, and stylish decor. Excellent communication from the host. Great location and very thoughtful welcome basket.

Joanne was a lovely host keeping good contact with us. Nothing
- Anne (10/5): Very relaxing stay - the bed is very comfortable! Enjoyed the 25 minute walk into Berwick & the cottage is a great b - Great little cottage. The welcome tray & personal note were a lovely touch, plus Joanne contacted us after our first night to check everything was ok & to ask if there was anything we needed.

- Mark (10/5): An amazing place to stay and a gateway to some beautiful areas of the Northumberland coast - What a wonderful stay we had at Herring Cottage in Spittal, Northumberland! This 1-bedroom house is the definition of cozy and clean, truly having everything you could want for a comfortable visit to the area. We especially appreciated the fluffy towels, cozy blankets, and the thoughtful welcome basket.
Joanne was an excellent host, subtly ensuring our stay was as perfect as possible with her gentle text check-ins.
The cottage's location is a major highlight. Being just across the road from Spittal beach was fantastic for early morning walks. We also enjoyed a lovely 25-minute stroll into Berwick-upon-Tweed to walk the historic walls. Herring Cottage is an ideal base for exploring Northumberland's treasures.
We had some unforgettable days, including a beautiful walk from Embleton to Craster with a stop at The Jolly Fisherman, an awe-inspiring trip to Holy Island and Lindisfarne Castle, and a memorable boat trip to the Farne Islands where we saw puffins, seals, and Arctic terns. Each day brought new delights, all easily accessible from Herring Cottage.
We'd happily return to this lovely home! Absolutely nothing
- Thomas (10/5): Highly recommended - House was immaculate with everything needed for our short break. Joanne was attentive asking for us to let her know when we had arrived safely and ensuring we could contact her if we had any issues (which we did not). A very much appreciated lovely welcome pack was there on arrival. We were very lucky with the weather and took advantage of the short stroll to Spittal promenade. A very enjoyable break. No area to sit outside but with Spittal promenade a two minute stroll from the house this was not a concern.

- Sean (8/5): Recommended for those wishing to explore Northumberland's coastal attractions - The property was within reach of the coastal attractions we visited. Easy to park the car right outside the property. Inside furnished to a very high standard and was very clean and comfortable The hot water from the bathroom tap was a bit hit and miss but the shower worked perfectly.
Some leaflets about local attractions would have been useful.
