- lars-åke (7/5): - Säng och portiern Slitet och sämre frukost
- frank (8/5): It was good location and staff was very knowledgeable and helpful and friendly - It was advertised as parking was available but it was only for 1 car.
- William (8/5): -
- cath (7/5): A well situated small hotel ideal for access to centre of the city . - Location
Parking
Friendly staff
- Monnie (10/5): -
- beresford (8/5): we loved it - staff were very helpful, booking taxis etc there was no lift
- EVA (9/5): -
- Lotte (7/5): Splendid staff but the building itself could use some work - Location, friendliness of staff Bit outdated
- Iana (10/5): Ligger centralt. Fint sted med charme. Meget venlig personalet. -
- Grant (9/5): -
- Luis (8/5): - friendly staff
- ben (7/5): Pleasant, no frills, clean and efficient. - Friendly staff, ease of check-in, on site bar with fair priced drinks, good tv, good heating, clean hotel throughout. Book selection on all floors, breakfast not tried, quiet street off main route , 25 min walk to St james quarter for reference. Minor cripes: Got twin beds instead of double, - duvet suitable for a child but not for adult. Shower was a mixer tap over bath, the settings were tepid or scolding hot and running the bath was tepid water or scalding so gave up for the 2 days - 3rd floor so perhaps pump issues. Toiletries was pump dispenser which was neither a plus or minus. Bed too firm for me. Nextdoor room in desperate need of wd40 on the hinges ! Yes it was overlooking the castle if u pressed up to the window over the desk and looked hard right.
- erica (8/5): Only there one night.Room clean and comfortable - Didn't have breakfast,thought £9.00 rather expensive

- Marcus (1/5): -
- james (7/5): - very friendly and helpful staff. good location for the west end and princess street yet not on a main road, so not too noisy. the curtains are very thin - so if you are a light sleeper... and it is the summer months - the room will be very bright early in the day.
- Carol (8/5): -
- Jacqueline (9/5): Great place great location friendly helpful staff - The staff was amazing all but 1. The others made up for the one individual. Highly recomend nothing
- Sergey (10/5): -
- Ian (8/5): - Location Bed was a little uncomfortable, spring mattress needs a foam layer
- Martin (9/5): Lovely stay with my son - Location , Heritage A little more water pressure 😃
- Guy (10/5): Really enjoyed my stay, this will hopefully be my go-to hotel for future trips to Edinburgh for work - Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. Really attractive building, very conveniently located in a quiet area.

- Rhyl (10/5): - Staff were helpful and friendly. Quiet place to stay. All the stairs with our luggage!🤣😂
- Bryan (1/5): - I didn't like it at all They don't do hot breakfast the staff were not good
- Zixiang (10/5): -
- Acharee (3/5): - The area My personal room hot beverage system didn't work. I asked for it to be replaced or fixed and was agreed. But never did.
I am disappointed in lack of facilities and further more a promise to fix that was unfulfilled.
I was unable to satisfy myself with a simple tea. I had to go to an area and purchase a tea. Even though it was in my room inventory.
People expect better. The price was high.
- Susan (6/5): - No bar open , no lift 3rd floor very tough couldn't stay the second night had to leave .
- Vojkovská Klusová (7/5): -
- Ganna (8/5): - Location close to centre was great 👍, quiet street but eating out and attractions close
- Maud (8/5): -
- Ágnes Emese (4/5): Doable, with a lot of compromises - The location Not properly managed, small, poorly maintained room
- Maria (8/5): Nahe am Zentrum freundliches Personal - Sehr gut

- Claire (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyable stay. - Just a short walk from city centre, had everything you needed. Staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The building itself was beautiful with alot of original features alot better than staying in a carbon copy hotel room. As it is a very old building there is no soundproofing and at time of staying had a few noisy guests, which is something that is no fault of the staff and it didn't ruin my stay in any way, just mention it as some could find it iritating.

- Claire (5/5): Good location and lovely staff - Location was good, very quiet and staff are super helpful. Room was comfortable but needs some tlc. Rooms are dated and things don’t work - shower had to be held in place, wall paper peeling, sink doesn’t drain. Plug sockets were a little sparse.
- Ahmad (5/5): - The staff was very cooperative. The room wasn't cleaned well, the furniture was very old, no toilet slippers were available, and the carpet was filthy. The picture is uploaded on booking. com; the room was opposite. At breakfast, neither boiled eggs nor omelets are available. WiFi was very poor.
- Moran (8/5): - Location is superb Decor very tired...and furniture need update
- Felicity (7/5): I would stay there again - The room was beautiful No hot water the first day
Next day was lovely.
- Andrew (6/5): -
- Rohan (10/5): -
- Billy (9/5): - The price for the room was really good ,,large room with tea making iron board & iron, hair dryer, safe. Large shower comfy bed and was so quiet
- Gerard (9/5): - Great. A warm welcome and full brief of facilities timings, the need to know stuff.

- Merriam (3/5): -
- Reeve (6/5): Ok - Location Could do with an upgrade and a map to the parking (£20 additional charge)
- Silu (6/5): -
- Raymond (10/5): Exactly as we hoped - The location was ideal. Old fashioned hotel and we liked that. We did not eat as we went out all day every day Nothing. We are recommending it to friends
- Reniah (8/5): -
- Alex (7/5): I would definitely come back as the staff were very friendly and it’s a great location and good value for money - Nice location Shower wasn’t hot
- Amanda (9/5): Had a wonderful short trip. - The hotel was within walking distance of all the places we wanted to see but was far enough away from the main busy areas to be quiet at night. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The stairs 😁
Dommage…
- Jane (7/5): -
- Christine (1/5): Old, hot, moldy, bad! - The location Everything else!
Black mold in the shower!
- Madeleine (8/5): Beautiful and handy location for a quick stay in Edinburgh! - Our room (the manor suite) was beautiful an felt very traditionally. The big window and extra space was lovely. Some facilities matched the age of the building, the bathroom was aged and the shower/ toilet did not work great all the time.
- Rafal (1/5): -
- Emilie (8/5): Lovely hotel and staff, and a charming, old building! -
- lewis (8/5): -
- paul (4/5): -
- Patrizia (8/5): - Nice hotel in a good location close to transports and 15 min walking distance to town centre. Good welcoming and room clean .
- Carolina (10/5): -
- Anna (7/5): -
- Rebecca (10/5): - staff provided excellent recommendations for places to eat.
room was large, enjoyed the big tub for a winter warm-up soak.
architecture of the building is gorgeous
- Nadine (9/5): -
- Otto (9/5): -
- Cole (8/5): -
- Marx (7/5): -
- Carly (7/5): Enjoyed our stay was a nice quiet area but easy to get everywhere - Lovely building very spacious rooms , nice staff Dated rooms, needed some TLC
- Peter (7/5): -
- Kathryn (5/5): Adequate for two nights - The guys running the place were pleasant and friendly. The hotel is in a nice location, around 25 min walk into the centre of the city.
The central staircase in the hotel was impressive. The beds in our triple room were comfy. The breakfast was a bit disappointing, some hot choices would have been nice.
The hotel is obviously a very old building which is in need of some refreshing and redecoration. The grouting around the tiles in the shower of our bathroom was rather grubby but otherwise the bathroom was fine.
- Dominic (8/5): -
- Gunilla (4/5): # - The beer we got in the bar was good. The bed was broken (springs were gone) so my husband slept like a cheese doodle The shower was uncontrollable and swapped from hot to cold in a blink of an eye, did wake you up though.. And.. breakfast... International NOT! It contained bread, some pot yoghurt, pain a chocolate and some tired fruit. For the toast you could choose ham or cheese. On the Sunday.. they ran out of bread.. at 8am .I do feel sorry for the receptionist this morning.. Other then that.. a cute little hotel 20 min walk from the center.
- McSherry (8/5): -
- Angela (2/5): - Staff was nice Was frezzing cold asked them to turn heating on then turned it bk of through the night it's winter time I couldn't sleep as I was two cold
- Edward (2/5): -
- Marylou (5/5): Location was good but cleanliness not great - It was okay continental ham cheese ,bread for toast cereal etc Fresh fruit in the bowl oranges were beginning to try out just wandered on the freshness
