Guest Reviews
- Nick (4/5): - I'm not fussy. This was adequate and cheap. Toilet was clean, shower had mould strips that had clearly been there for a while. Bed was fine, a little soft for me but thats personal taste. Bizarrely, no soap at all. Plus despite a toaster and kettle, there was no cutlery, plates, cups, mugs or glasses. It smacks of being set for long term residents who would provide these items themselves. But I was a motel user, not a long term user. I need soap and a water glass, lol.
Its a longish walking distance to the centre of town, but do-able (also the local club will pick you up in their courtesy bus).
Most other residents are long-term. Its pretty quiet.
I didn't hate it, it was very cheap for my 4 night stay. But I know some people would be bothered by what I mention. Its probably a 2½ - 3 star.
- Simon (2/5): Disgusting! - I have visited dozens of hotels and motels in Australia and around the world, at all price points. While i acknowledge that this place, Mineral Lodge in Mt Isa is cheap, I have NEVER stayed at a property with such dilapidated, filthy, run down, and plain disgusting facilities. I have just checked in and I am in all seriousness thinking about leaving. Unfortunately one cannot safely drive on the freeway in this part of Australia at night without the risk of hitting animals, otherwise I would get into my car now and keep going to my destination. There is no way this property should be accepting payment for anything, except perhaps as a film set for horror films! (There is a lock on the OUTSIDE of the bathroom door, so you can keep a prisoner!)
There are stains EVERYWHERE; on the carpet, on the walls (outlining where the previous bedhead sat for years), on the white goods (ironic noun), on the towels (big, ominous looking yellow stains), and of course the bedding. The fridge, which is not turned on, stinks to high heaven, as any fridge which has been turned off and left to sit in a hot environment, will do. It is also full of dead insects! The communal kitchen looks like a homicide scene. I opened one cupboard to find it empty, except for half a dozen live and dead cockroaches. The gentleman on reception who obviously lives on site was pleasant upon checkin, but as it stands i have just paid $99 for a friendly welcome!
FYI the add photos function is not working - but i have 30!
- John (8/5): - The property was ideal for an overnight stay at an affordable price. Perfect for a travelling couple.
- Geoff (8/5): - W as good
- Elsa (2/5): - Single room with shared bathroom very noisy - no soundproofing between rooms - can hear everything in adjoining rooms and from shared bathroom.
Unisex toilet - females have to pass urinal to access toilet which had no lock. No lock on female shower either
Do not recommend for females
At time of staying extremely noisy & inconsiderate male adjoining room who had been there for months
- Christine (4/5): - not come there again
