- Simon (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): This is always "our special place" when we stay in Wells. -
- Abby (8/5): - Good central location, much bigger than expected, well equipped and comfortable, good value for money. Nothing in particular
- Downey (10/5): -
- Peter (10/5): Beautiful couples retreat in city centre location. - Centrally placed apartment just a few minutes walk to a giant Tesco, local Spar, Little Theatre, the tiny Wells cinema and a nice pub. Parking right outside for unloading and cheap daytime / free overnight parking very close by. Beautiful apartment thoughtfully furnished & with milk in the fridge to greet us. The Courtyard itself accessed from the kitchen is very quiet. A real couples retreat. Living room is very quiet, despite the road outside, due to effective triple glazing. As well as visiting the beautiful city of Wells, it is an excellent base for exploring the local area too. Nothing.
- Kay (10/5): Lovely and would happily book it again. - Location was great & the car park we used very close & cheap. The flat was very comfortable, quiet & relaxing. Struggled a bit with the TV with it's location & the remote control but not that important to us
- Barrie (8/5): A city centre break with nice walks - N/a Bedroom was cold
Limited parking in the nearby carpark
- Darren (8/5): Overall very happy, with some minor issues. We would gladly stay here again - It was spacious, it had nice decor and the little outdoor courtyard was a pleasant and private space. It's in a really good location and the record player was a nice extra touch. The host was welcoming and helpful. The wifi was unreliable in the bedroom, but fine in other parts of the house and the floors were quite dusty/dirty, left our socks black!
- Karen (10/5): - A very well thought out property in a fab location. Lovely and spacious, comfortable and warm.
Great communication from Joann the Host
- jill (10/5): It is a lovely, spacious and comfortable flat - perfect. - This is the best self-catering place we have ever stayed in. The flat is spotless and Joann went out of her way to make our Christmas special. The flat is quite central with a cheap carpark very close by. The only fault I could find - and this is in no way Joann's fault! - is that we found the central heating system complicated to adjust. We certainly didn't want to phone her as it was Christmas Eve and Day.
- Adrian (10/5): Location, location, location! Easy parking nearby. Convenient to Market, cathedral & allied places - Basic provisions welcomed.
Location in the city cannot be beaten. A mention of need to bring slippers would be welcomed. The hard floors are quite cold.
- Jacob (9/5): -
- Alison (10/5): Excellent - Lovely home from home , great location, lovely and clean Very comfortable and homely
- Lenihan (10/5): -
- Gemma (10/5): Amazing stay - Everything was amazing, one of the best places we've ever stayed. The Courtyard was really spacious for two of us but also really cosy with great decor. We had everything we needed for a really memorable stay. The location was absolutely perfect, a short walk to the cathedral and town centre with Tesco opposite for anything we needed and Wetherspoons just a 4 minute walk away for cheap breakfasts, dinners and drinks!
Communication with Joann was excellent throughout and we will definitely look to return in the future!
- Callum (10/5): Perfect Pad! - A beautiful property in the perfect location. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed it here! The property was perfectly clean, and everything we needed was provided. The retro decor was outstanding and really appealed to us both, too. Thank you for a lovely stay. We may well be back soon!
- Sarah (10/5): We would definitely highly recommend this property. - Finished to a high specification and furnished beautifully with such attention to detail. Absolutely everything you could possibly want provided. Owner super responsive and helpful. Couldn’t stay longer!
- Frances (10/5): Highly recommend The Courtyard - Perfect stay! - Loved our Anniversary break away at the Courtyard! Such a beautiful home, really well thought out. Front room spacious with Dining table, comfortable leather suite, TV and record playable which was fab! Kitchen had everything you need with doors to outside courtyard, perfect for morning coffee! Bedroom was very well decorated, very plush, pitch black at night and could hear a pin drop, so great for sleeping. Bathroom was lovely, great shower, roomy bath and heated towel rails. Everything was spotless and perfectly clean. Communication was perfect and Joann very thoughtfully had prosecco for us as a treat for our celebration! Location is absolutely perfect for Wells. Barely 5 minutes walk to the City centre, plenty of coffee places, eateries and a good variety of shops. Saturday Market was a bonus. Loved Bishop's Palace and Gardens. We highly recommend staying at the Courtyard and will be back again soon.
- John (10/5): Perfect, just loved this place. - Idyllic apartment. Tastefully decorated. Cosy and spotless. Comfortable large lounge. Excellent bed and bedding. Superb bathroom.
Well appointed kitchen. Just delightful. Nothing
- Mark (10/5): Very relaxing break. - Excellent location, beautiful flat with a lovely courtyard garden. Very comfortable, with everything you need. Excellent communication from Joann. N/A
- David (10/5): Excellent, clean, modern, good value -
- Gwen (10/5): Had a lovely few days at the Courtyard only wish it could have been more. Very chilled which is what we needed - Everything. It was such a lovely homely flat and all on one level which is good for the knees! Joann was fab and answered any queries we had very speedily. Very clean, bed was so comfy and a gorgeous garden. Nothing!
- Althea (10/5): The host had thought of everything to make our stay a comfortable and happy one. The courtyard garden was the jewel in t - We absolutely loved this little gem of a property. Everything about it had been carefully curated from the decor to thoughtful touches … milk in the fridge being one pleasant surprise.
- gjammac (10/5): Super comfortable home from home - Super communication from the Host. So we'll equipped and prepared with coffees fresh milk and crumpets. Retro feel of Beatles portraits and LP player. Comfortable bed and lovely bathroom and Courtyard for patio drinks. Location superb. Great pub and restaurant Sheep and Penguin a few doors away Fish and Chips next door. Short walk to town and the glorious Cathedral and other super shops and restaurants
- Theresa (10/5): - How clean it was .
Easy walking distance to the centre.
Modern .
- Andrew (10/5): A beautiful, well designed compact gem of an apartment in a well-situated location for the centre. - Despite the unprepossessing frontage, the apartment is a gem, self-contained and beautifully refurbished within the ground floor of this old terrace. The carefully thought-out design of the rooms, furniture and fittings gave the place a very comfortable feel. The kitchen had everything one would need. The courtyard outside was well stocked with mature plants and had places to sit for a drink.
Close to the city centre, double glazed at the front so no traffic noise.
It may not be a 5 star hotel, but it is much more interesting. I look forward to staying here again.
- Lee (10/5): - It's in a great location, very quiet at night but a couple of minutes walk from the town centre. It's a lovely apartment and is exceptionally well equipped and comfortable. Nothing
- Michael (8/5): Lovely apartment in a lovely City! - Self catering facilities were good. Property was opposite a large Tesco's which made buying food for our stay very easy.
The Courtyard was a short walk to the centre of Wells with its attractions and numerous restaurants/cafes for breakfast, lunch and dinner as required. Joann was very prompt in supplying entry information, and also checking how we were doing, on a couple of occasions by text. Very happy to recommend The Courtyard to any couple who want to stay in central Wells! Nothing detrimental to say!
- Christopher (10/5): Abbey Palace gardens eating out descent of Cheddar Gorge. - Fully equipped kitchen. Covered, secure courtyard for our 2 bikes. Town centre parking 150 metres away at an affordable price. We had a mix of town centre culture and small individual shops. A sublime cycle ride took us through wookey hole, Priddy descendind down the gorge to Cheddar and back to Wells onn quiet country lanes on the Somerset levels. Left blank
- Caroline (10/5): Would stay here again. - Very comfortable with well equipped kitchen. Reasonably priced parking at the end of street.
Easy walking to shops and Cathedral. Excellent communication if any questions. Found the floors cold, don’t forget your slippers.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional - Really nice comfy place. Felt spoilt with a dressing room 😊 had everything needed and more for a great stay.
- Jill (10/5): Wonderful! - self catering but tea, coffee, milk and biscuits there for us. We stayed over the Christmas period and were amazed to see that Jo-Ann had gone to the trouble to decorate the flat so it looked really festive. This is the second time we have stayed at The Courtyard and it is wonderful. One bedroomed but really roomy with a very lovely walled courtyard. A public car park is very near but you can easily park right outside in a layby to unload. The property is in very easy walking distance of the city centre. There is nothing not to like. It is perfect.
- Catherine (9/5): Very comfortable warm and cosy apartment with everything you could need and in a great location. - The apartment was comfortable, really clean and warm. It has everything needed for an enjoyable stay. You can tell the host has put a lot of thought and care into making the property welcoming and cosy. Everything was really good. The only minor improvement that could be made was brighter lighting in the kitchen. I struggle in low lighting so that is probably something others may not notice.
- Bryan (10/5): Ideal location, well equipped, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet for a town apartment. - Well fitted out. Comfortable, quiet. Tip top finish in the apartment. Well thought out, really nice Nothing
- Debra (10/5): Home From Home - From the outside the Courtyard looks like an old shop, but walk in and wow its lovely the facilities are spot, you are within 5 minutes of the cathedral ,well worth every penny There is nothing i didn't like
- Andrea (9/5): A lovely relaxing stay - Very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Quiet.
- Cheryl (10/5): I loved this flat, lots of homely touches, I’d happily live here! - WiFi wasn’t great
- Mackay (10/5): Stylish, comfortable and well looked after - Fabulously presented and comfortable
Beautiful courtyard
Good facilities
Clean and well looked after
- Hayley (9/5): Relaxing weekend - It’s was in a good location, near to the shops, pubs & bus stations. The apartment was well equipped with all mod cons, lovely court yard, very pretty.
We did play some records on the record player, Brilliant.
The host was very helpful, any questions were answered straightaway. Thank you Joann
- Margaret (9/5): Superb - Comfortable and convenient. We particularly liked the sense of space and openness in the sitting room
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (9/5): Great apartment for exploring Wells - Great location for exploring Wells. Apartment was clean and well thought out and everything needed was available. Spacious bathroom and dressing room. Bed large and comfortable. Garden was an oasis. Good recycling facilities. Eveything was good.
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional - We liked the location of the property in Well's as it was with in walking distance to a lot of the things that Wells has to offer.
The owner was very helpful with nothing being to much trouble.
Property was spotless, and very comfortable and we would recommend this property to any potential visitor. There was nothing not to like.
- Rebecca (10/5): Really great flat - Fantastic flat, clean, lovely decor, well equipped kitchen, comfy bed, lovely garden and easy to find. Even though it was on a road it was very quiet and private. Great communication with the owner. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you x
- Traci (10/5): Gorgeous accomodation - Everything was fantastic....from the size and decor to the location. Lovely finishing touches...you can tell the owners really have thought of everything
- Gary (10/5): Brilliant property in an ideal location - Absolutely brilliant place to stay; had all the mod cons and very close to all the facilities and attractions that Wells has to offer.
The hosts are excellent at communicating and offering all the required information. The property is highly recommended.
- Andrew (9/5): Excellent location. Friendly, helpful host and a proper home from home ! -
- Wathan (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Very enjoyable visit the accommodation made the visit even better - Very nice and clean high standard 10 out of 10 communication very good very happy.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Such a beautiful place to stay
- Simon (10/5): We were pleasantly surprised at how lovely this property was. A gem right near wells centre. Very comfortable and cosy - It was so well decorated and comfy. The milk tea and coffee chocolate, biscuits and bath gels were so lovely to revive
- Andrew (8/5): We enjoyed our time in Wells - Clean , convenient and comfortable. A small amount of traffic and passer-by noise at times.
- Jill (10/5): A wonderful few days. - Self-catering but well provided with tea/coffee etc. The apartment was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean with everything you needed. In spite of being on a fairly main road and next to a chip shop it was very quiet. Large kitchen and living room, comfortable bed, bath & shower unit, two loos, and a dressing room! There was a car park very close by and reasonably priced. We paid £3.40 when we got there at 2.45 pm which took us until 2.45 the next day - so no having to get up early to feed the meter. There was also an attractive walled courtyard but unfortunately we couldn't use it because of the weather. I can find nothing whatsoever not to like. It was much bigger and way beyond my expectations.
- Mike (10/5): It was warm comfortable and clean - The small garden and the bed was so comfortable. No TV in bedroom 🥲 and shower a little bit small but no real problem.
- Rosie (10/5): A v comfortable base to explore the city of Wells, everything was so comfortable & well thought out. - Very spacious - great sized bathroom & even a dressing area - and a guest loo!
Fluffy towels & bath gels & choccies - just like a hotel A few more plain glasses would have been lovely but maybe we never found them
- Snibbles (9/5): Lovely Apartment in Wells - Nicely presented apartment. Very well furnished. Comfortable bed. Good location. Nothing.
- Geof (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeanette (8/5): Excellent, well equipped, very convenient, warm and comfy - Comfy, lovely bed and shower and very pretty little garden. Hosts really helpful - came out very quickly to deal with a slight problem with tv. No WiFi in bedroom
- Julia (10/5): Stunning - Beautiful apartment, location excellent, parking very close by, bed very comfortable, great shower & a huge bath in the bathroom if you like a big bubble bath perfect, kitchen was very big with everything you needed, The host left milk in the fridge decorated beautifully for us as it was Christmas, left lovely bathroom products & chocolates on the bed for us , love touch, thanks so much . Will definitely stay again. Only found that the WiFi didn't work in the bedroom bathroom area which was the back of the apartment, but worked great in the lounge & kitchen, not a big issue for us at all , oh a great cooker in the kitchen but not very easy to regulet the temperature, got there in the end .
- Linda (10/5): Perfectly clear instructions received from Joann before arrival perfect apartment, perfect location! - The location was perfect for me as I arrived by National express coach which dropped off at the coach and bus station across the road. Also Tesco and Waitrose were on the doorstep. So close to walk to town lots of coffee shops and all the historical sites nearby. I initially fought with the front door key outside! After a couple of times I got used to it.
- William (10/5): Happy visitors - The accommodation was very clean and well kept. Everything you could wish for was provided. No negatives.
- Katie (10/5): Lovely cosy and comfortable would stay again. - Comfortable exceptionally clean and good location Property was very cold when we arrived in the evening could have benefited from the base temperature being a set little higher
- Bill (10/5): Convenient, comfy perfect place to chill - Keys held in lock boxes, but also provided with our own set. Nothing
- H. (10/5): Excellent in every way! Highly recommended. -
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (7/5): Good - Spacious. The mattress was a little hard
Couldn't find anything to wash dishes with.
- Steve (9/5): We had a fantastic stay here and we have already recommended it to friends and family. - The apartment was a great size and had all the amenities you could need. Its very well proportioned and the decor was great. Great location to the City of Wells and very close to the nearest car park (which was a very reasonable price for 24 hours parking). The outside space was great.
- Gregory (9/5): Superb -
- Louie (9/5): A handy and comfortable cottage. - I liked the quietness inside, the peaceful courtyard - lovely for breakfast, and the roominess. Very close to supermarket; easy and cheap PayByPhone parking close by. Handy to the town; St Cuthbert’s churchyard a very peaceful haven. Nothing.
- Caroline (10/5): Perfect - Location was great, quite central, easy to reach everything. Apartment is near a main road, but the windows are so thick you can't hear anything (and the bedroom is towards the back of the apartment, so it's really quiet.)
Very clean, has everything you need, feels very spacious.
Host very thoughtfully left some milk and tea so we could make a cuppa first thing :)
- Si (10/5): Really lovely home away from home. - the property is in lovely condition and well worth the money - theres a car park that is not too much money just down the road and all in the city is close by. Nothing - all good.
- David (10/5): A beautiful home, with excellent decor. A real gem in the heart of Wells. - The bedding was lovely, making it a home from home. Lots of extra little touches, like ice in the freezer. A fresh bottle of milk waiting for us, and for me, the best part was having decaf tea bags….something no where else ever provides🎉 Nothing. It was first class.
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good -
- Denise (10/5): Excellent, clean everything you want & more very good value for money. - Fantastic place far exceeded our expectations. Nothing
- Elaine (10/5): Absolutely delightful accommodation! - Superbly clean and extremely spacious for a one bedroomed apartment. Every facility that you could ever need, it even had a small private garden. I liked EVERYTHING about it!
- Sarah-jane (10/5): A beautiful flat, very thoughtful host, fantastic location - Great location, very beautiful flat with great facilities.
- Allyson (7/5): Good - The apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. Half a mile (walking) from the cathedral so reasonably convenient for spending time exploring the city centre. The property has obviously had a lot of work, however it should be made clear that it is next door to a fish and chip shop. Once they start frying, you need to close doors and windows otherwise the apartment is filled with chip shop smells. The owner has tried to counteract this by placing airwick fresheners around but I had to remove these as they are a migraine trigger. This made the smell more obvious.
Next door the other side is what appears to be a derelict shop, so visually challenging.
Unfortunately there were roadworks along a large length of the road which meant that we couldn't park outside to unload luggage. Can't be helped but it would have been good to know beforehand.
Finally, the kitchen looks good on the face of it but is under equipped. More than 3 mugs and 2 of each type of glass would have been nice, as would more cookware. Also more than one small and skimpy tea towel. Maybe we've been spoilt in other accommodation that we've rented and our expectations are too high..
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Very warm and welcoming in an ideal location There was nothing that we did not like
- Sharon (10/5): Amazing apartment in a perfect location. - The location was perfect. Car park was less than a minutes walk away and cheap. Tesco, bus station, pubs, shops, restaurants, Cathedral, Bishops Palace, Vicars close all within 5 minutes walk .
The apartment was fantastic. Generous size with a cute little courtyard at the back. Very well presented and immaculately clean. There was a small seperate wc as well as bathroom with nice deep freestanding bath and separate shower. A cute dressing/ vanity space with hairdryer was a lovely addition.
We particularly liked the little touches including complimentary toiletries, tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and fresh pint of milk in the fridge ! The record player and vinyls were fun too !
Joann was a perfect host. She informed us room was ready early and text during our stay to trll ys about a local event.
We would definitely stay again and reccomend to friends. No negatives !
- Anonymous (8/5): perfectly serviceable and relaxing - furnishings were beautiful bed was a little short and not very comfortable
- Marie (9/5): Great few days in Wells, we will be back. - The flat is very well maintained and very comfortable. Excellent location just a few minutes from the centre and right across the road from a car park. Joann gave us a very useful tip for using the car park app, saved us lots of time in Wells and in other locations around Somerset. Just a couple of small points:- There is no dishwasher, which is fine, however for hygiene purposes, I suggest that you need 2 - 3 tea towels, there was only 1. Also, the only sharp knives in the drawer were two enormous bread knives, not suitable for cutting fruit or vegetables.
- Liz (10/5): Wonderful stay in a stylish and comfortable apartment - We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully decorated apartment. Location was excellent - cheap parking very close by and an easy stroll up the high street. The decor was contemporary - very smart and the Christmas decorations an added bonus. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend for a lovely visit to Wells.
- Dave (9/5): Superb -
- Tim (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (9/5): excellent accommodation in a brilliant location for Wells and as a base for exploring many attractions around the area - location is great parking is a minor issue, limited outside but very cheap parking nearby
