Warton (8/5): Ideal location. - The room and view were lovely, clean comfortable and well equipped. Short walk into town. I was alarmed when door to room opened and I was in my underwear as I was getting dressed, it closed when the person realised this but then a few minutes later there was three people removing the existing mattresses with new ones. I took exception to this as we were getting ready to go out.

Sharon (7/5): Good value - We stayed in one of the lodges with our dog - £15 charge as expected. The lodge is well located with a short walk into the town centre. It was equipped with everything we needed for a short stay and had excellent views of Bakewell from the lounge. We stayed in the Michael Palin lodge which was on the end, providing easy access to the garden for our dog. Price was reasonable and visitors are offered a discount at a local restaurant. Would stay here again. Not an issue for us but there's a steep walk uphill to the lodge (hence the lovely views). As others have said, the shower can be a little noisy. Also we couldn't open the bedroom window.

KAREN (10/5): Beautiful view and peaceful. - We booked last minute and being a holiday weekend, everywhere was booked up. We stayed in the Ben Fogle room with a small kitchenette and bathroom. The view from the large picture window was amazing as we were high up and over looking Bakewell. The bed was large and very comfortable. The shower was hot and powerful. It was lovely and quiet and the parking was free. The accommodation was up a steep hill so ok if you are fit and able. It was a short walk down into the town. Breakfast was brought to the room by Carol and served with a smile. I would definitely stay again. Something minor, but the cutlery tray could do with freshening up.

We were assuming that the smoke had come from someone either smoking in a flat next door or underneath which had come through the walls or ceiling, and when we tried to open the windows they wouldn’t open as they were old and appeared to have got stuck and broken. The bathroom was a bit tight to be able to get into the shower as the shower screen door was very close to the toilet.

Jes (7/5): Nice and comfortable stay for the night - The property was easy enough to find, with onsite parking available for the duration of your stay. The location is good, being approximately an 8–10 minute walk from Bakewell town centre. However, it is situated at the top of a very steep hill, which may make access difficult for guests with mobility issues. The studio apartment was clean and tidy and hosts were responsive and welcoming. Given the property branding, and website, we thought the accommodation would have been more period, as the lodge accommodation looks more like a converted 1960s housing block, although it was still clean and well equipped inside. We received a lovely welcome from Georgina, who was friendly and helpful when showing us to the room, though this could just as easily have been managed via a lockbox. The steps leading to the property were a little slippery, and there are unavoidable steps down to the accommodation, making it less accessible for anyone with mobility needs. Additionally, the property is located up a steep hill, which may be challenging for those with a pushchair or accessibility issues

Room door (which opens outwards) directly opposite office on outside path and other residents walk past door and bathroom window on path. No light over bathroom mirror for shaving. Quite dark.
Tyne (5/5): Very good location, just wouldn’t stay for more than 1 or 2 nights. - Very spacious lodge, good kitchen facilities, very nice view and extremely short walk into Bakewell town. Also got 10% discount at a local restaurant and it was lovely there. Plumbing issues - blocked sink, and when upstairs used any water it caused all of the pipes in our lodge to make very loud and constant noises which then lasted for about an hour. Lodge is at the top of a large hill and parking via google maps takes you to the main hotel not the lodge. WiFi doesn’t work.

Pauline (7/5): Great location, property with great history and staff. - We were on foot...travelled by coach n bus so had to walk uphill to property. Stay v good n staff great. Room and facilities vgood but rooms needs updating. They forgot to arrange beds as twin as we friends but they quickly sorted that issue. We paid for breakfast b4 leaving and it was more than enough indeed. Maybe drop price and give half? Great for visiting The Old House Museum just a few yards away.....that was a great visit. V near to the town ...downhill. Room needs updating though v clean and had all we needed for the v comfortable stay.

The bed was really comfortable and the location was within walking distance to town centre. Nothing it was perfect, just what we wanted so we stayed again

Helen (10/5): - This was our second stay at Bagshaw Lodge and we would highly recommend it. Lovely welcome from Georgina. Very clean, warm comfortable apartment with everything you might require and a lovely view .Very short walk to Bakewell centre. I'm sure we'll be coming again soon. There really is nothing to dislike.

Mark (4/5): Disappointing- wont be going back. - Heating was good. Great location. Huge bed. Good views. Parking (though worryingly tight). Kitchenette was pitiful - just a kettle, toaster, microwave - no hob as shown the pictures. Bare minimum crockery and utensils. Passable as a place to sleep, but far from suitable as a self catering facility. Dining table was so wobbly that drinks and cereals spilled. Rug was frayed and curled up causing a real trip hazard - we took it up and stowed it in the wardrobe. WiFi was useless- far better to switch off and use phone signal. Paths and steps were treacherous on cold mornings. Arrived at 1400 as arranged and was shown to the room and introduced to the site, then got a call at 2200 asking if we were still planning on coming that day - left hand right hand? Expensive for what it was.

Kasia (9/5): A lovely property in the heart of Bakewell. - I loved the fact that it was very central in Bakewell, so close to town that we could walk there on foot. The view from our bedroom window was spectacular. The property is located next to a beautiful Bagshaw Hall. The parking was a bit challenging because we couldn’t fit into our designated space however we have been asked to park in any space in the car park. It was a bit tight with reversing and cars parked closely to one another. If you have a small car, you’ll be fine. The property is also located on a hill which means it’s an uphill walk there if you do walk to town on foot.
