- Bilel (3/5): Short - The price and location are very good. It's fairly clean overall. I was on the first floor and next to me there were people who talked morning, noon, and night. They stopped talking at 1:30 a.m. It was hellish.
No one helped me carry my suitcase, even though it was extremely heavy.
For my first two nights, there was no Wi-Fi in the evening. I contacted the agency, but they told me to try again, so for two nights, there was no Wi-Fi in the evening.

- Brunna (6/5): - Some members of the staff were okay, and a Chinese lady at checkout was especially kind and helpful, which I appreciated. The corridors were so narrow that it was difficult for both a door and a person to fit comfortably. The room also did not feel very clean, and it was filled with large signs listing precautions for the stay, which came across as passive-aggressive and made the space feel visually cluttered and uncomfortable.
The bathroom was outside the room, but it was acceptable for me.
The location is in a residential area, about a 20 minute walk from Ikebukuro Station.

- Matilde (10/5): -
- Simon (9/5): Pretty good and great price - The host was able to meet us after hours which was a life saver. She was sweet and nice! I wish it was near more food options. The heater does make noise ever so often. A fairly decent amount of creaks in the building as well. If you can sleep through that then it is good.
- Ginger Bendfeldt (3/5): Don't expect too much! Shared toilets, disgusting showers - Around 15 minutes walk from Ikebukuro station, small "side alley" - look for Cardamon bar (directly on the other side of the street) - it's easier yo find than the description to this "hotel", which is more a hostel to be honest. Can not recommend! We'll for sure never come back again!
First: own bath means you'll have a shower in your room. This does not include an own toilet! We had to share 1 single toilet on our floor with two other rooms (1 bed room + 3 beds room - we had a double room). The shower was black mouldy at all bottom corners. Disgusting!
The toilet and sink on the floor have seen way better days in cleaning. And it stinks all the time.
Our room the same condition: thick dust above air-condition, same below under the bed. We've found 100 Japanese yen under it - do I have to say more?
Second: we've stayed 4 days. Only one towel set is free - if you want to get fresh towels (I mean, 4 days... hello?) you'd get charged with 500 yen. Ridiculous! So we've washed the towels on ourselves while doing our laundry.
Third: if you wanna store your luggage after checkout (11am) it's free until 2pm only. After that you'll be charged 500 yen PER HOUR - an easy way to make extra money, isn't it? And the storage room wasn't crowded or busy in any way - just one suitcase next to our stuff.
Last: you can use the small (more or less clean) kitchen for cooking, same as refrigerator on your own risk. Be aware there's no window inside.
- Miguel Angel (9/5): -
- Justin (6/5): - Good location. Nice & clean. Great communication from hosts. A few nights there was a bit of noise during the night.
- Brugo Medrano (9/5): Agradable - La simpleza y comodidad Nada
- Cristian (8/5): -
- Juwanty (9/5): The owner is very nice, the room is considered spacious for the price. There was a day that I had to move out and stayed -
- samanta (6/5): - Location is great! Thin walls, you can hear everything from the other rooms
- Vincent (10/5): Great value - Location is about 15 minutes away, clean place, very nice owner Would like better toiletpaper
- Sachie (8/5): -
- Hilda Delgado (10/5): Great spot near Ikebukuro station - Great location in Ikebukuro, close to many shops and restaurants and very close to the station. Narrow stairs specially with luggage. We thought we were renting the tatami room but we got a bed. It was ok, it was just different than what we expected.
- Kaveesh (9/5): -
- Gicelly (10/5): - Me encantó. Volvería aqui sin dudar
- SONGI (7/5): -
- Ai (5/5): -
- Dominic (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, and well-located in a quiet neighborhood just a few minutes walk to the heart of Ikebukuro. The room was small and compact, but had everything we needed...storage space under the bed, a shower, a toilet, and a sink with a countertop. The staff were friendly when we saw them, and the communication was great. There's a small shared kitchen with a hot water kettle, a fridge, and a microwave, which was useful. There's also a 7-11 a short walk away. The room is a bit small for Western standards. This didn't affect our stay at all, but it's worth mentioning.
- Mike (7/5): -
- HUANG (8/5): Good place to stay in Toshima - The place is close to Ikebukuro station, easy to reach, the toilet and shower is large and easy to use. The room for sleeping is small, it is kinda hard to fit two people's luggage in. It is also slightly expensive.
- Jaimie (7/5): - Location
Hygiene No bed, quite hard
Toilet outside
No lift
- YOSHIKAZU (8/5): -
- Hiromitsu (8/5): -
- Hok In (3/5): -
- Paula (8/5): Recomendable, genial calidad-precio - Tiene aire acondicionado. Tiene tatami y futones. Personal amable. Limpio.
- Gus (8/5): - The location was good. Excellent value. It was a long walk with a big suitcase from the nearest station. Also our room was 3rd floor and there isn't a lift.
- Kevin (8/5): Very good - This is a good value for private room with a shower, sink, and air conditioner in the room. Toilet is shared, and I believe there’s one on every floor.
The location is a bit more residential but also close enough to the main active area of Ikebukuro where the shops and restaurants are, which you can walk to this area in about 5 minutes. To get here from the station, it’s about a 10-15 minute walk from the Sunshine City exit of Ikebukuro station.
There’s a Maruetsu Petit grocery store about a 2 minute walk away, which also had a coin laundry shortly past it as well. This grocery store is nice if you want to buy things to cook since there’s a little shared kitchen on the first floor of the inn. Having an air conditioner was nice, but mine was leaking a lot of water. Wasn’t too big of a deal since most of it dripped into the side containers by the sink and mirror that may have a little cup or toothbrush holder. I would have to remove the containers every morning and dump the water in the sink, which was easy to do, but just a heads up if you plan on placing your toothbrush or other toiletries in these side containers.
- Somya (3/5): Poor -
- Piet (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philip (1/5): Unimpressed and will never stay there again. - nothing It was labelled King Room with double bed suitable for 2 people. I have checked the photos online and I appear to have got a King Room. What I didn't notice at booking time was that it was 7sq m. I could hardly turn around, When I was shown the room, 2 people (myself and the owner) could not get in together.
I received I think three emails confirming my arrival between 3 and 4pm.
The place was locked on arrival and nobody answered the phone. I rang, and so did a kind passer-by. Several times. He finally got a call back - I never did. It was nearly an hour before I finally got in the room. I was tired after a long day of travelling and the casual attitude did not impress.
- Grelyn (9/5): Superb - The place is clean and near convenience stores.
- George (7/5): All I expected and friendly staff. - Cost and easily walkable once you knew where it was. No kettle in the room and narrow stairwell to carry large suitcases. We managed but this could be difficult for older travellers.
- Jullien (9/5): Superb -
- Rillystar (9/5): Great hotel for solo travellers - I booked in with a room with a private bathroom and shower. The hotel is a nice walk from the station and in a residential area so there aren't a ton of tourists or lots of noise at night. Convenience store, grocery store and coin laundry is very close by as well. Vending machines for drinks are right outside the front door and make for convenient access at all hours. The staff are very kind and while they don't speak much English, are able to use Google translate to overcome that barrier. If you speak Mandarin or some Japanese you'll be fine though. For English speakers, it's easy to make requests etc through Booking.com's messaging system. They are pretty quick to respond to messages here. While my room had a fair amount tmof soace, rooms here aren't huge suites (like many places in Tokyo) so anyone planning to bring a lot of luggage should keep in mind that likely they will have a tougher time in the space if they bring too many suitcases and carry on hardshell luggage. I would say the room i had was great for going solo but with a 2nd person it's a bit tight if you plan to stay for an extended period of time if you're used to N American standards. Wish there was a bit more soundproofing. Luckily, during my stay the other guests quieted down once it got late enough. You'll want to be cognizant of your own noise levels so you don't bother other guests.
- Tim (9/5): Superb -
- Jeremy (8/5): we were thankful for this nice accomodation... cheap but so good... thanks - we were a bit late, good thing the staff was kind and considerate...we love the tatami that give the japanese vibes of the room, it was clean... the room smells clean too, able to sleep well that night...
- Strahinja123 (9/5): Great experience, great location, great owner, worth the money. - I had a great experience! For solo travelers, I highly recommend this place. It was my first time in Tokyo, Japan, and I haven't regretted it one bit. The host is very nice, pleasant, and helpful. A big bonus is that if you can speak Japanese, it’s a plus; if not, Google Translate can help. Smoking is not allowed.
I spent the first two weeks alone, and in my third week, my girlfriend joined me. It felt a bit crowded with two people, but it was totally manageable if you don’t mind it.
The location is about 10-15 minutes away from Ikebukuro station, which connects to all major spots in the city. It takes 20-30 minutes to get to Shinjuku and Shibuya. The last train to Ikebukuro departs at 00:30, which is great for those who like to stay out late.
The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. There's a vending machine located right in front of the apartment. Nearby, you'll find a coin laundry and restaurants, and a large shopping center, Sunshine City, is just 15 minutes away. All in all, it's a very good location, and Ikebukuro has a lot to offer. The walls are a bit thin; you can hear people outside if they are loud, and they can hear you. Usually, there aren't many people around, but sometimes it is a nuisance.
- Nadine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tim (9/5): Superb -
- Kevin (9/5): Brilliant - Easily accessible, nice toilet and close to train station and local shops. Stairs but then again we had a small balcony
- Aaron (7/5): Good - The location is good, right outside the busy part of ikebukuro. The shower and toilet both were in the room but separated. Plenty of power outlets. Lots of convenient stores close by. The owner was understanding and would work with you, real nice guy. The shared kitchen worked out fine no one bothered your things. I couldn't tell which room I was getting from the app, or at least what the whole layout looked like. Not allowed to have guests over or it will be extra charge, but was able to work something out with the owner. I stayed for a while but I think it may have cost extra for replacement blankets and pillows. The owner speaks a little English so be patient with him. There are a lot of rules guests should be aware of so they do not ruin things for their stay or others staying there.
- Anriki (10/5): Incredible value for money - I stayed for 10 days and it was very comfortable. The room was clean, my bed was soft, and the location was close to the station and everything else; just what I needed for my time in Ikebukuro. There's a 7-Eleven and grocery store right around the corner as well, which was convenient. Overall, my stay here has been great and I'm definitely coming back if given the chance!
- Rebeca-oriana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (8/5): Very good -
- Jason (8/5): One of the best value for money properties for solo travellers. - Phenomenal value for money. I stayed for 31 days and the cost was equivalent to a month's rent in my home country. Room is small, but has private toilet and shower, and proximity to Ikebukuro and Otsuka is great. Needs a bit more storage space.
- Franky (8/5): A cozy place that's fairly close to the station. Would recommend for single traveler. - One of the best bed I've ever slept in, very comfy.
The location is good, 15 min walk from the shopping center and train station
Toilet is shared but you get your own shower, very convenient. The room is a little bit cramped. I had one luggage and had to put some stuff on the bed.
The wall is a bit thin so I could hear the other room if they are talking loudly.
Waited a little bit for the hot shower water to come.
- Jah-shiloh (7/5): Good -
- Jooyean (4/5): Disappointing - Scary Small room, too far from everywhere, address was wrong
- Fumiko (7/5): Short & sweet stay. Plenty of outlets for charging devices. - Very bare bones spot, but we just needed a place to sleep. It was quiet enough & the bed was clean & comfy. Light switch was outside the room. We used the light on the sink’s vanity to have one inside.
- Aldous (10/5): Exceptional - Aircon, cozy room with balcony. Friendly staff. Near groceries and restaurants. 10- 15 min walk to train ikebukuro train station. Toilet outside of room. Stairs to 3rd floor hope the have a lift for the luggages. And no changing of bed sheets and towels for the 7 days stay.
- Anaïs (9/5): Stay with a homey feeling - The staff was incredibly nice and it was very comfortable to stay here, it felt like a home. It was very easy to check in and check out, without having to wait. I also booked the room last minute and it was a really good price. The only thing is that the toilet is outside the room so in the room there is a shower, sink and bed but no toilet. Regardless of this, the toilet is right outside the bedroom so it's ok.
- Lung (8/5): We are happy to stay during our trip, the bed is awesome, with tatami and the futton, love it. Easy access to all we nee - Near with train station
Lots of convinience store around
7 min walk to nearest shopping mall
Lots of delicious Japanese Food with fairly cheap price Pretty hard to find in google map
