Guest Reviews
- Gwen (10/5): Remote Finca to disconnect - We had the best time at this Finca.
The owner displayed outstanding hospitality towards us explained us everything into detail and was available to help whenever we reached out.
The location is perfect to disconnect there are only two guard dogs and some roosters who make some noise from time to time but besides that you are in a very quite rural surrounding.
The finca is equipped with everything you need, we cooked every day, enjoyed the terrace, made some fire and watched movies on the gigantic tv.
We had a walk, enjoyed the stars and the garden lights at night. I cannot describe with how much care and love this place was created. We would definitely come again. The way to the property indeed is very steep a good car is needed especially when it rains.
Its a tiny adventure every time going up or down.
- Bob (9/5): Nice, well equipped, house with terrace and garden, surrounded by nature on the mountain - The house is very nicely located on the mountain, surrounded by nature and very quiet. It is very cosy, well equiped, and really everything is available (including food in the fridge, fruit, wine and all you need to cook your own food). The kitchen has a 4 burner gas hob and a gas oven. Heating (yes… we needed heating) is possible by a butane gas heater or by the fireplace (very cosy); wooden logs were available. Beds were comfortable.
The house has a large terrace with chairs on different sides of the house; there is also a garden with long chairs and a rocking bench swing. There is a gas BBQ on the terrace.
The owner and the caretaker were very nice people and always ready to help (communicate through Whatsapp). At arrival we met with the caretaker on a meeting point and he showed us the way up the mountain. One night, with a lot of rain, the kitchen roof was leaking…. The next morning the caretaker was on the roof repairing the leak.
There are different hikes possible starting from the house. Not really negative points, but some things to be beware of. This house is located on an altitude of more than 800m. We were here in March and it gets cold in the evening and night. It rains more often here than at the coast. The access by road is very steep on a narrow road (2 km). We did this with a "normal" car (not a jeep or 4WD), but I can imagine that some people could be put off by this.
- Dens (9/5): This is a very nice location with a super view. The nearby beach in Garachico is quite nice. - I liked the silence and the remoteness of the place. The ocean far away and the forest nearby. Icod de los Vinos is very pleasant and scenic with the old Drago and the park around it. The road leading to the property is very steep indeed. I felt confident to drive but for a less experienced driver that could mean some nerve-wrecking moments. A stable and solid car is recommended.
