• Gillian Arthur (1/5): Absolutely rubbish I didn’t take any pictures but I wish I had Just wanted to get out of there - Nothing we left after the first night we should have left straight away from the first impression it was dismal when we got inside it was discusting bathroom needed condemning the room was awful nothing good to say avoid at any cost ☹️ There was nothing to like the bathroom was the worst thing I’ve ever seen just thinking about it is gross 🤮

• Lyn (1/5): Total waste of time and money. Had nowhere to stay. - Took ages to find the property, on dark road. When I found it after driving up and down road for half an hour, I could not get into the house. The key code was wrong so I had nowhere to stay. Earlier at about 7pm I had asked the manager on the phone, could he tell me the key code. He said he didn't know it, and to phone when I arrived. They did not answer the phone for 15 minutes. I paid for a room, but did not get into building. No key because the code for the key box did not work. No staff on site. Phoned as instructed, at first they did not answer. When they did answer, the staff refused to come and help me get into building. Left me with nowhere to stay in Oxford late at night. My money should be refunded because I was left with nowhere to go.

• micaela (5/5): Accoglienza e Check-In pessimi - Vicinanza alla fermata bus e centro Parcheggio comodo Prenotato una camera con bagno esterno privato e ci ha dato una camera con bagno privato interno Esperienza pessima. L’host non ha mai risposto ai messaggi inviati tramite Booking. Il check-in è stato disastroso: all’arrivo davanti alla porta d’ingresso si trova solo un cartello con due numeri inglesi da chiamare perché all’interno non c’è nessuno. Se sei straniero e non parli inglese la situazione diventa davvero complicata. Inoltre senza internet o con una SIM italiana è praticamente impossibile contattare l’host. L’unico modo per chiamarlo è tramite WhatsApp sempre che si disponga di una connessione. Una volta contattato l’host fornisce un codice per aprire tre cassette portachiavi ma non sa nemmeno in quale si trovi la chiave trasformando l’ingresso in una vera e propria escape room. Dopo essere riusciti a entrare bisogna cercare le chiavi della propria camera nella reception. Tutto questo si sarebbe potuto evitare se l’host avesse spiegato in anticipo la procedura di check-in tramite messaggio su Booking. Sconsiglio vivamente questo alloggio a chi non dispone di internet e a chi non parla fluentemente inglese o a chi cerca un check-in semplice e organizzato.

• Sofia (3/5): Terrible - Unfortunately, my experience at this property was disappointing. Upon arrival, we were not informed in advance about the self check-in, and we ended up standing outside the door at 11 p.m., our scheduled arrival time, without any code to access the room. Once inside, we found that the room was not properly cleaned: the bathroom fixtures were dirty, the shower was already partially broken, and there were visible damp stains and infiltrations, suggesting poor maintenance. On the second evening, the shower stopped working completely, and despite notifying the host, we did not receive any response. Since it was our last night, it wasn’t possible to fix the issue, but a minimum level of attention toward guests would have been appreciated.

Clean and comfortable bed. Easy self check in and someone was at the end of the phone. Great for a reasonable price overnight stay with parking. The house is not as nice as the photos, it is in need of modernising and decorating

• Debby (3/5): Avoid! Bedbugs. - Initially the room was what I expected for the price. Basic and bed comfortable. As I was driving home I began to itch. When I finally got home I discovered I was covered in bites. These have now got worse and I’m on antibiotics as I’ve reacted badly. Confirmed as bedbug bites by my GP. I stayed in room 5.

Comfortable bed.Tea and coffee making facilities in room. Soft furnishings needed a clean. Walls had some marks that should have been cleaned. En-suite shower room was looking a bit tired.

• Alice (2/5): There’s budget and then there’s Harris Guest House - Staff were somewhat friendly on arrival, they responded to my message about parking the next day- didn’t include any actual info/directions however. It’s around 30 min walk to the centre so it’s in a fairly good location. This place has seen better days, the paint was falling off the walls, all the furniture cracked scuffed and marked. Stains on the pillows and the towels. So much mould in the shower and the shower itself didn’t really work, a very small amount of water runs and it runs extremely cold or hot and then stops running all together, I gave up in the end and just had a wash in the sink. The heating was on all night which meant the room was far too warm, we turned the radiator off but the valve must have been broken because it was hot all night. There was a window which we had open even though there was rubbish stacked up high outside it but it didn’t do much for the heat and there is no ventilation and its small. We were on the ground floor so you can hear everyone and the traffic, we were woken up at 5am when someone came in and then multiple times after. The car park is tiny and difficult to park in there is probably room for maximum of 3-4 small vehicles, there was lots of rubbish in the carpark also and it didn’t feel safe or secure, I also have a new scuff on my car as I imagine someone scraped it trying to get out as it’s so tight and awkward.

Dat maakte voor mij de eerste reisdag ongemakkelijk. Kamerjas koud. Er was geen laken om onder te slapen. Buitendeur was niet af te sluiten.

• J (3/5): Dreadful - Nothing I am extremely unhappy with the room I paid for. It was not compliant with fire risk building regulations, health and safety but also was extremely dirty. The window(fire escape) had no handle, a power socket was held together with sellotape. The tiles, grout, woodwork were very dirty indeed. I have photograph’s if you would like me to send them. I would like a full refund please.

• Danielle (8/5): Cheap, fair, really comfortable bed, and close to city centre - We had a really friendly reception from staff, easy to find the hotel and parking was free. The bed was firm but that was a relief after too-soft beds in other hotels! Wifi was fast and we could stream, and it was around a 1-2 mile walk into the centre so great location. Water pressure in the shower was excellent, and there was tea and coffee and a fan available. It was tired (but cheap, so fair enough) and a bit of noise from the estate at the back. Bit of condensation on the glasses, but it was a warm room - - and to combat, we had a fan, so can't really complain!

• Sonia (5/5): My Harris house review - Shops near by for food, bus stops to city center a 2 min walk from place, hard bed but still quite comfy. Very basic room but just what I needed for a night away. No one was there to greet me so wasn't able to get in on arrival. No lights on in reception area. Contact numbers on front door after calling a number of times and waiting about 15mins the owner called me back and gave me pin to lock box to get in and he would be there in 5mins. Which he was. He told me where everything was and left me to it and left the guest house again without coming back at any point. There are people living there in some of the rooms which was a bit off putting.
