Guest Reviews
- Janet (6/5): - The staff, Ara, was helpful.
Bathroom was not cleaned every day.
Someone stole all my food from the fridge
- Raven (6/5): - I did not like how you couldn’t open the window. There’s only one small window in the bathroom that could be opened. The walls were pretty thin so you could hear your neighbors real well.
- Ashlee (6/5): - I found some other persons used soap on the window ledge in the shower and hair around the shower walls. The room, was supposed to be twin beds. When I asked the host to have the beds made up, she tried to pretend like it was her last room and she couldn’t do anything about it. There wasn’t a mistake with the room, but the twins needed to be unzipped and a second that sheet added. She was unhelpful and unfriendly. I received a message from the hotel at 2300 saying they could make it a twin, but no one came by the room or gave us other lines. We had to use our own sleeping bags. We asked for more sheets but were denied. Overall, this was a subpar stay with dirt in the rooms and unwelcoming and unfriendly hosts. Breakfast was below average. I would stay other places before staying here.
- Javier (8/5): - It's located near the bus station, but about 1 mile from the Fitz Roy park entrance. Ok for a male, solo, traveller; I would not recommend if traveling with family or significant other.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice place to stay in El Chalten, very practical :)
- Erika (2/5): Bed bugs!! & no refund - do NOT stay here! - TLDR: bed bugs and zero refund or effort to remedy the situation, do NOT stay here!
booked for 3 nights as a solo woman traveling in Argentina for my first time. I have had very bad luck in the past with pests so I inspected the mattress when I first got there and didn’t see any signs of bugs. After lying in the bed resting for a few hours I got up & noticed the tiniest red speck on my pillow & then I saw it move. I crushed it & there was blood all over the napkin & then I flipped it over & found another & the same thing happened. I realized they were bed bug nymphs after doing some research & I began to search for more signs. Eventually I found several adult ones, their exoskeletons, excrement, and several eggs in the night stand directly by the bed. At this point it was almost midnight & their reception closed at 9pm. I messaged them & heard no response. I frantically packed up all my things & left. At one point I was standing on the side of a gravel road alone with all my luggage after midnight as I had nowhere to go since I couldn’t reach reception & it was so late when I discovered them and peak busy season with limited availability elsewhere. I spoke with the lady the next day and she refused a refund, lied to my face about being there earlier that day and said to contact Expedia but I told her they couldn’t reach her either. She then said to contact the owner but refused to give me their contact info to do so. I told her I’d write this & she shrugged & said “okay.”
- Holly (10/5): Excellent choice in El Chaltén - I was very happy with this cool little hotel! It's a very short walk from the bus station. My room was clean and comfortable. The shower was great with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. It was very nice to have use of the small kitchen for preparation and storage of food - and it's also a lovely space to sit in and enjoy morning coffee with views of the surrounding mountains. The kitchen could be a bit better equipped in terms of dishes and utensils for cooking.
- Haley (10/5): - The woman at the front desk during my stay was super helpful and friendly! You get what you pay for in terms of amenities (I had some issues with my shower that were fixed in a timely fashion), but it is in a very central location. There’s also a super cute cat that hangs around!
- Jeffry (4/5): - well located Close to Main Street and all facilities. Staff was nice and helpful. Just Be advice shower is so tiny I could barely turn ( I’m skinny) .
- Simeon (10/5): LODGE WITH A VIEW - Small lodge with very helpful and kind personnel. Few minutes away from the bus station and in the middle of the town. Great restauramts nearby too.
- Timo (10/5): - Top!
- Jorge (10/5): - We really liked the service at Guanaca Lodge
- Ming (10/5): - It is very clean, both in the lobby and in room. Owner Ada is very friendly and willing to help, not only the stay itself, also about the town and the trail information.
