Guest Reviews
- Carolin (7/5): -
- Laura Dawn (6/5): Good value and very basic - Hammocks throughout were a nice touch The place is very close to town with lots of neighborhood noise. We did not see any signs of wildlife except the mosquitoes. There were no mosquito nets and no screens on the windows.
- Alicia (6/5): - Location wasn’t bad, it was surrounded by nature which I loved. Bed sheet had a bad smell, room had a weird smell too, the mattress was very uncomfortable, coffee machine wasn’t working, facility wasn’t kept up well.
Mosquito repellent is a must.
- Martin (10/5): - Super chill vibe, it’s a little spot in paradise ! Juan was very kind and helpful! 10/10 would recommend
- Nataly (10/5): -
- John Salcedo (10/5): - Tranquilidad Quedarme poco tiempo
- Santiago (10/5): -
- Ryan (9/5): Great quiet place to sleep and relax in nature - A very good place to sleep and relax without any disturbance. The beds are clean and comfortable, the shower was perfect, they give you towels and soaps. There are several hammocks around the property and you can see birds and hear cicadas singing during the daytime. The guys in charge of the hostel are friendly and laid back. Guests can use the kitchen and there is free filtered water. There are trails to hike and swimming holes in the nearby river. It is a short, but somewhat steep, road from downtown San Rafael. About 15 minutes on foot. When I was there, there were no other guests- peaceful, but not social. Unfortunately, some of the neighbors put loud music on during every daytime, which ruins the feeling of being in the nature. I think the dorm ( shared ) rooms would benefit from racks or hooks to hang wet towels/clothes to dry, and lockers to store important items.
- Pedro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jessieca (8/5): Simple and Quiet - Quiet and near the stream for swimming. Very old bed sheets, it has holes already. The bathroom is too small and it doesn’t have hot shower and the water from the shower is a bit murky.
- Michelle (9/5): Superb - Its super peaceful, calm & very much in the nature! I was monkeys in the morning there as well. Can recommend the horse riding 100%!!!
- Dhem (10/5): Listening a little bird sound - I like how cozy of this place. There are hammocks everywhere and big space for common area. The location is a bit far from the center (around 2 km) but you are among in the nature. Watching beautiful birds and hear the creek sound. So relaxing.
Around 700 meters to the Laguna azul. It is very nice spot for swim. I went to many spots but I love this place the most (peaceful, lovely and clean.)
The staffs are so nice and friendly.
Kitchen has all basic need.
Bed is big and comfy.
They gave soap and towels for every beds. It is not the hostel faulty.
Just only my room is closed to the kitchen and I can hear the guests and cooking sound since 6-7 am. (too noisy and make me moody)
- Karen (10/5): Great place to stay in San Rafael and we plan to stay there again when we return. - We loved the location! The room was perfect and the bed was very comfortable. Lots of wildlife and monkeys visited daily. Short walk to San Rafael and tuktuks were readily available. The hosts were very kind and helpful. We loved everything about it!
- Karen (10/5): Tranquil and magical stay - The location was perfect for us. Easy walk into San Rafael and also accessible by tuktuk. We were in room 201 and the bed was very comfortable. The hosts Naz and Santi were most friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the tranquility, nature, birds, and monkeys and their dog was very lovable and friendly. We wish we could have stayed longer and plan to return. We loved EVERYTHING
- Hans (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alejandro (9/5): Our stay at Casa Clandestina was enjoyable, with a fantastic location and exceptional staff. - The location was ideal, making it easy to explore the area. What truly stood out was the exceptional staff. They were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and always willing to assist. We did encounter a minor issue with the bathroom in our room. But despite this small inconvenience, we highly recommend it for its prime location and outstanding customer service.
- Waldemar (9/5): Superb -
- Annemarie (8/5): Very good -
- Michel (8/5): Very good - It was quiet, quite cheap and close to the river. The breakfast (not included) was nice.
Perfect for hiking or running. You need a tuk tuk to go to the city center.
We didn't know if we could use the kitchen (information not clear from the staff).
- Wout (10/5): The perfect place for unwinding and immersing yourself in nature. - I stayed at Casa Clandestina Campestre and had a wonderful time. The staff were incredibly helpful and always ready to answer any questions, making my stay very comfortable.
One of the best parts was enjoying breakfast while watching a variety of birds like toucans and even spotting monkeys. There are plenty of walking trails for those who enjoy hiking. If you prefer swimming, crystal-clear rivers are less than five minutes away.
In general, Casa Clandestina Campestre is the ideal spot to escape the city and immerse yourself in nature. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat, as it is the perfect way to relax and unwind. /
