Guest Reviews
- Zoe (9/5): -
- Fairlie (8/5): - Perfect location, clean & comfortable There was nothing not to like
- John (10/5): Great place to stay - Really comfortable bed, spotlessly clean and a very good location, particularly if you don't drive and are exploring the area by bus (the local stops are just two mins away). The place is small but has absolutely everything you might need, including good cooking facilities A microwave would have been a good addition (but not necessary)
- Semmens (7/5): -
- Victoria (9/5): Great location cosy ideal for a short break - Great location very cosy Just a recommendation maybe a microwave
- Dion (10/5): -
- Lydia (10/5): Lovely -
- Adam (10/5): -
- Angie (10/5): -
- Kay (9/5): Perfect, best nights sleep, good comfy bed, firm - More hanging space for my dresses
- Deborah (5/5): Sadly not one of my better finds - The decor is well thought out and the location is ideal for exploring the Cotswolds .
Communication and support from the host Sean in dealing with issues that arose during our stay was excellent. The size of the property for some people would be somewhat claustrophobic. The lack of outdoor space would deter visitors who enjoy sitting outside in the warmer weather. Whilst the cottage is described as dog friendly the lack of outdoor space and the restrictions in place at the property do not in my opinion make this a dog friendly cottage .
- james (8/5): Nice stay in Cotswolds - Google search The bed was very squeaky and it. Really needs a blind to the front door.
- Allison (8/5): -
- Charmaine (8/5): - Location and how clean it and cosy it was The bed was uncomfortable
- Katie (8/5): -
- Jessica (8/5): Cute and great location! - Cute little property in an ideal location, some reviews mention a blind on the door which has been fitted. Really lovely place with gorgeous touches The bed lets it down, the slightest move gives the loaded creak. We spent the night waking each other up! 🤣
- Ella (9/5): AMAZING - Beautiful, clean interior. Was perfect for two people and a weekend away. Great location too with a car park round the corner. We would 100% stay again. There was nothing we didn’t like however some minor improvements to make the stay even better would be; we struggle to wash up due to no cleaning supplies (e.g. cleaning cloth/ washing up liquid). The fridge also fluctuate in temp so we struggle to store food in there but very minor improvements to have made our stay even better!
- Lucy (9/5): Had a lovely weekend stay thank you - So cosy and great location to explore the Cotswolds
- Cheryl (8/5): -
- Tracy (10/5): Amazing - A lovely welcoming clean villa. In beautiful surroundings. The hosts are lovely and helpful with great communication.
The Villa had everything we needed for a cozy stay, hairdryer, internet, all cooking utensils, tea milk coffee and sugar even towels! Amazing. The villa is so clean and nicely decorated and a stones throw away from Diddly squat farm shop. There was nothing to dislike. We loved it!
- Sandra (9/5): Had a lovely few days away. Would definitley return. - Great location. Quiet and comfortable. Maybe could do with a blind at the door, especially for evening time.
- Rebecca (9/5): Great location - The property was very well equipped. Decorated to a high standard and very clean. Unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable, we stayed two nights and hardly slept. The bed creaked every time we moved. To enhance the experience I would recommend a new bed and possibly king size removing a bed side table to accommodate.
- Elizabeth (8/5): was lovely and just what we needed - was clean and tidy and a lovely home Bed was not the comfiest also i think a to would be a good addition to the property
- Pauline (8/5): Good clean accommodation good base to stay but very small - It was very clean very well maintained and homely Much smaller than I thought it was going to be and definetly needs a roller blind or similar at entrance door for both privacy and to block out security light that comes on during darkness hours , that lights up the whole property had 2 nights disturbed sleep as it was constantly on and off during the night ( maybe being triggered by cats / wildlife ect)
- Barbara (10/5): -
- Ian (9/5): - Location was great in the centre of town, the property was lovely and perfect for us. It could do with a blind on the front door, that's the only thing it needs.
- Rosemary (9/5): Comfortable, special small home - Great location and lovely little home - perfect for one or a couple Nothing
- Emma (9/5): Lovely stay right in the heart of the Cotswolds! - Nice little property perfect for a little get away and dog friendly! Ideal location and easy to access! Everything you need to have a great stay. TV is a good addition, and extremely clean. Easy check in, and right in the heart of a lovely village. Great location to enjoy the Cotswolds! Quite a small property, so it’s fine if you’re planning on being out a lot! Not much privacy, there’s no blind in the bathroom, which, given, only looks up to the sky but feels a bit exposed whilst showering, and no blinds on front door, but this isn’t an issue just more a note!
Dog friendly property, but dogs aren’t allowed upstairs which is a difficult rule to enforce so ended up having to barricade our puppy downstairs with our bags🥲
- shirley (9/5): Clean accommodation and good contact with the owners - Great location in the middle of chipping Norton No car parking - you need to park in public parking that states you can only stay for 12 hours in a 24 hour period
Settee very compact for 2 people

- Dean (8/5): Enjoyable trip in lovely location. - Lovely and clean. Good location. Lovely steam engine on window. Nice shower. So well insulated we were baking which was quite uncomfortable. Present air con is not adequate when it is warm. The bed is needing attention. Hubby woke me up every time he turned in his sleep it creaks so much. A blind is needed on the front door as there is no privacy when people walk past.
- Naomi (9/5): Great for a weekend stay! - Located in a fantastic spot within Chipping Norton, the property is small but has all the amenities you'd need and very clean. The mattress and pillows weren't the best, we didn't sleep too well on them. Parking is also a bit tricky, there are places nearby but be careful of overstaying, there are parking wardens daily. A footrest for the couch would also be a great addition.
- Charlie (10/5): -
- Chris (10/5): Brilliant trip to the cots worlds - The accommodation is decorated to high standard and very tastefully furnished I love the model traction engine on the kitchen window sil. The accommodation is very well positioned to the high street as well to free parking I am not sure what is going on with the bed. The bed frame squeaked. The hosts were very prompt to resolve. The bed it self seems to be thin soft memory foam mattress on top of a spring loaded frame. The mattress seems to collapse into the spring loaded frame.
- Katie (9/5): Excellent stay, would revisit! - It had everything we needed. A fully equipped kitchen. Central location, lots of pubs, cafes and shops in walking distance and it was dog friendly. Hosts were very accommodating and replied to messages quickly. No parking but was suggested a free car park by host which was close by.
- colin (8/5): Great short break 3 to 4 nights plenty. - Lovely little place nice and clean easy to find , Could have done with a microwave, you couldn't park your car outside you had park it in the car park which is about 5 mins away,it was safe there , my wife has a disability scooter but we got by,
- Rachel (9/5): -
- Samantha (9/5): Superb -
- Amy (9/5): Superb - Had everything you needed
- Sarah (10/5): Loved the location, cleanliness and communication - Location and cleanliness The only negative point was the bed was not comfortable but that could be personal preference
- Alison (8/5): Very good -
- Barry (8/5): Very good -
- Margaret (9/5): Chipping norton - In town but very quiet so ideal
Able to take our two small dogs
Very comfortable and kitted with quality furniture and fittings
EV chargers available on long stay car park Parking on road or free long stay carpark .Difficult when disabled
- Claire (9/5): Superb -
- Alex (9/5): A perfect house for a couple in the perfect area - Very homely, a perfect size and great location The bed was incredibly squeaky when just moving and the bedroom did get quite hot in the evening
- Fiona (5/5): Great location but terrible bed - Excellent location. Beautifully renovated. Warm and inviting. Photos accurate. Communications with the owners faultless. Just check on parking details when you leave the car… instructions vary.
Minus - no salt/ pepper, no teapot, coffee pot or tin opener
I was there for a 4 day course. The recent comments about the bed are entirely accurate. It should be noted that it’s a 4’ wide bed and it squeaks whenever you move an inch. Literally!
After the 3rd night we decamped to Premier Inn for a decent nights sleep.
- Bronwyn (8/5): Pretty and cosy little village stay - Lovely clean, cosy and pretty property, beautifully renovated. The bed was squeaky and very uncomfortable.
- Bonner (9/5): Very pleasant comfortable and lovely stay - It was a lovely house to stay in with all amenities in the house to use, very comfortable and homely, only a couple of little minor problems the bed did squeak every time you moved about and could of done with a blind on the front door but apart from that everything else was really lovely we both enjoyed are stay and will recommend it and will stay again.
- Katie (9/5): Superb -
- Kimberley (8/5): Very happy was a super cute little place and location - Location and super cute. How noisy the boiler is
- Julie (9/5): Great Location Lovely property well catered for all needs would recommend to anyone - loved the cleanliness important to me, very comfortable just right for a short stay and perfect for all amenities and sight seeing, would definately recommend to others only slight issue was the front door glass was clear and open to everyone walking by and opposite
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yasmine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Glenn (10/5): Overall I would happily stay there again. - No close parking
- Lee (7/5): Ideal for a couple staying for a couple of days. - Lovely compact little property, looked like it had been newly renovated. Tricky to find (even being told it was down a side street by a hairdresser). Could have done with a blind on the front door, as it had a big window so there was not much privacy. Also, because our dog could see everyone coming & going outside early in the morning, he kept us awake barking. The toilet seat also needed tightening - every time we sat down, it moved! Finally (& this is personal preference) - the pillows were too soft. By the morning it was like they were non-existent which didn’t help our sleep.
- Moira (10/5): Excellent little villa in a great location - Central and convenient for all amenities. Walking distance to shops pubs and sights No onsite parking but did know that in advance and free parking 5 min walk away also on street parking if available. You could of course park outside to offload your cases
- Corkhill (8/5): Cosy stay in heart of Cotswolds - Spotlessly clean with a modern and contemporary finish. All towels and bedding smelt fresh.
Felt warm and cosy. Close to the town centre but far enough away so that it was quiet.
Owners very responsive to questions which was good and helpful. The bed and pillows were too soft making it difficult to sleep.
No microwave and no blind at front door, may seem small but a lot of clear glass in door.
A folder of local amenities would be good.
- Barbara (10/5): Great cottage would definitely stay again - Beautiful everything we needed
Also we could take our dogs big plus Needs a blind on the main door there were work men next door felt they could see straight in
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Myford (9/5): Superb - Beautiful cosy cottage, spotless and well equipped
Perfect location Another baking tray, can't think of anything else
- Tracey (10/5): Immaculate accommodation - Absolutely immaculate and had everything we needed for our shortbreak in the cotswolds. Good location for all attractions such as Diddly Squat, The Farmers dog, cotswold wildlife park, stow on the wild and bourton on the water
- Sabina (8/5): Enjoyed it very much and super comfortable thanks - Very quaint charming comfortable super clean great location All good though it would have been nice to have a few fresh tea bags and little creamers for the coffee
- Alastair (10/5): A lovely little bolt hole, really well set up. The hosts couldn’t have been more accommodating -
- Martine (10/5): Would highly recommend staying there. Perfect location if you are planning on going to Soho Farmhouse or visiting the C - Spotless renovated cute little village house. Perfect for a couple or single traveller. Good communication with the host. No parking but it is mentioned so not a surprise and plenty of parking in next street and the center of Chipping Norton only a few minutes walk
- Sam (10/5): Great escape to a cozy cottage beautifully designed and decorated. - Lovely little cottage , beautifully decorated and cozy
Nothing we didn’t like , just a little hard to find at first so i’ll put a photo of the little road /passage you can drive down to drop your luggage off at .
We found it nice and quiet but very close to everything , lots of nice pubs and eateries within a few minutes walk .
We would definitely stay again . great stay , nothing we didn’t like , front door quite hard to open , and there wasn’t a microwave. The smart tv didn’t work but the owner came out and got it up and running ( the last customers had changed the settings )
- Jade (10/5): Perfect place to explore the Cotswolds ! - We had an extremely comfortable stay at The Bakehouse. We got a little bit lost but the host was very responsive and great to communicate with throughout. The cottage was adorable and cosy. A great location , right in the center of town but still felt very private. A shame there is no parking. However , the free long stay parking was just a few minutes walk away.
We can’t wait to come back !
- Chris (5/5): Poor communication and were forced to stay elsewhere - Small and no parking
