Guest Reviews
- Dawn (8/5): Great spot no problems with parking - Very convenient place for the cruise terminal
- Chelsie (10/5): It was a great stay away for one night - Everything everything was perfect!
- Eileen (2/5): Dirty - The location is good The place is filthy, mould and dirt all over the bathroom tiles, shower is cold with no pressure. Unsafe children’s toys in the garden, cigarettes ends strewn everywhere. We had to phone to get the lockbox code it wasn’t provided. Bedding all smelt musty like it had been left in the machine for days. Floor in the downstairs toilet is all warped and sticky from a leak. No lock on the downstairs toilet.
- Brown (10/5): - Good location, clean good facilities
- Josie (5/5): -
- Scott (8/5): -
- Dawn (10/5): Only stayed one night before we got on a cruise but it was great thank you - It was clean well equipped and near to where we needed to be Smell of damp in downstairs toilet
- Marcus (6/5): Es hat seinen Zweck erfüllt - Es war von innen besser als es außen aussah Die Betten waren in Ordnung, die restliche Einrichtung ist in die Jahre gekommen
- Jenny (8/5): Fair Quality-Price. - Big space ideal to accommodate big families. The host offers some coffee and biscuits as welcome kit which is appreciated. They are also reachable and attentive, i communicate to them via booking chat to avoid international call. The noise of the heater located in one of the rooms. Two faucets on the sink with either super hot or cold in the upstairs bathroom, and no hot water at all in the sink of the ground floor WC. The utensils aren’t clean for my personal opinion as well as the kettle. I would recommend to put a rug outside the bath tub since inevitably water runs outside. The shower screen is very small and only covers one-third of the bathtub.
- Dianne (6/5): -
- Derek (3/5): Not good enough - Location fantastic Dirty, dated, felt like it hadn’t been cleaned as you would expect from one stay to next, biscuit in tea bag tin, sugar tin with sugar in but also bits of coffee. Shower doesn’t work properly.
The kitchen is old and dirty and not enough of things in cupboards ie sleeps 8 but only 4 mugs
- William (3/5): Offered a one night stay in preparation for cruising from Southampton - The property is in a great location for us , near port for our cruise , local amenities are very useful and local. Parking outside property was good The property is very damp, a musty smell to all rooms , shower to first floor bathroom cannot be regulated , it’s either ready hot or freezing cold . Pressure from it is appalling. Needs more pillows on beds
- Sharon (4/5): Health Hazard!!! - Bedrooms were a good size. The house had a mouldy and damp smell. Kitchen cabinets had water stains and didn't look clean. Downstairs toilet had an obvious damp issue as stains on the walls. The garden was in a really bad state. Broken slides, broken trampoline stuffed at the back of a shed, broken BBQ, broken table just dumped in the garden. Though the worst part was when I complained to the owner his reply was children should not be left unattended in the garden!! Which of course we would never do anyway!! He said the furniture was due to be picked up the following week....this should never have been rented out while in this state!
- Robyn (7/5): Excellent hosts. Property needs a good clean. - The location was ideal for us The cleanliness was not good. I had to wash plates, cutlery and cups before we used them. The dust around the ledges in every room is thick. All the carpets are stained. The wooden skirting-boards in the toilet down stairs is rotten and hanging off the wall. The dining table chairs need cleaning.
- Andrew (9/5): Very comfortable house - perfect for a family of six - Great location (we were cruising from Southampton) - perfect for 6 of us - the kids loved it !1 Would recommend for any family. Broken children's slide in the back garden needs removing or repairing !!
- Walker (2/5): For convenience was ideal location but will never book again due to the poor cleanliness and upkeep or the property - The location was ideal for the purpose of our visit The house wasn’t appealing in any way. The rooms were dirty, the garden area to back was artificial grass which had weeds growing through it. Wasn’t fixed to the floor properly. There was a kids slide that was all cracked at the bottom which cut my grandsons leg. The bedding in all rooms smelt damp. Decoration of all the walls was poor. The shower had poor water pressure.
- Kelsey (1/5): Infested with bed bugs - REFUND REQUIRED
The house was INFESTED with bed bugs, they were crawling over the headboard, the bed linen and so many eggs. DISGUSTING. I have videos of them crawling over the bedding.
The showers were cold, damp throughout the house, so many cigarette butts scattered at the front and the back.
The host gave us the wrong key code multiple times so we were unable to access the property when we arrived.
- Kayleigh (10/5): Lovely place, would hightly recommend and would return - Very spacious, clean and tidy Not a bad word to say
- Duncan (10/5): -
- Bradley (10/5): - Well laid out property. Nice decor. Great host N/A
- Phil (8/5): Very good -
- Steve (10/5): 5 star from start to finish -
- Deborah (10/5): Perfect for our group. - Quiet location but still convenient.
- Tamara (7/5): Good -
- Cristina-magnolia (10/5): Exceptional - The owner replied very quickly to all my messages, very good customer service.
The house was clean, and the kids enjoyed sitting in the garden playing.
In the kitchen, you will find everything you need.
The beds are comfy, and the bed sheets were clean.
The parking was on the street, no permit required.
The accommodation is not very far from Peppa Pig World, which was a bonus for us.
- Terri (9/5): Superb - Location was excellent. Parking good. Very comfortable
- Sharon (4/5): Disappointing - The location The house needs a deep clean, it was dirty and there was dust everywhere, luckily we were only there 1 night. The kerb appeal needs attention, as do the skirting boards, ledges doors etc etc etc.
- Lara (7/5): Good -
- Lisa (8/5): Perfect location but fix the hot water upstairs - Home was well furnished, clean and comfortable. Parking was on the road outside property but the street was secure and lots of places available.
We stated one night before our cruise and slept brilliant and avoided the morning traffic by staying locally. The hot tap wasn’t working in the shower or the upstairs sink. It was fine downstairs but shower was freezing cold.
- Joanne (9/5): Perfect for a short overnight stay after a long journey, before heading off to the cruise terminal. - House was attractive, all amenities were provided, extra touches were muchly appreciated. Husband doesn't like dark coloured bed linens, so struggled to settle
- Dan (7/5): Simple house, but comfortable, clean and fine for the money - House was slightly better than expected. It looks like they have replaced the furniture in the dining /living room since some of the old reviews. Comfy beds, lots of space in the bedrooms There is only one bathroom (even though the listing says 2, there is just a second toilet downstairs) which was a problem in the morning and the water pressure for the shower was pretty poor. The kitchen equipment is dated (particularly the oven which is gas and tricky to turn on), but functional enough
- Jane (8/5): Great family stay. Very impressed - Very convenient for visit to Paultons Park. Clean, comfy beds, would very happily stay again Shower. Hot water dribbled out of the upstairs taps.
- Lucy (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (4/5): In need of some TLC and updating. - Firstly we only required an overnight stay and for the cost it was manageable.
The property is badly in need of some TLC. There was a lot of thick dust, numerous marks on paintwork, falling curtains, taps that need fixing, iron marks on carpets, carpets need fixing, stained linen and lack of kitchen utensils for larger groups.
The hot water to the shower takes a good 5 minutes to come through and then it has weak pressure. It needs the shower fixing back to the wall, it’s loose.
- Christian (10/5): Exceptional - Very lovely place and a very attentive host!
- Charlene (1/5): Bad -
- Rachel (1/5): Worst stay over of my life - Nothing Everything especially filthy and bed not changed
- Campbell (9/5): Very enjoyable and highly recommend to future bookings - Very comfortable and clean and the rear yard was nice and useable Transport was an issue on checkout
- Elizabeth (7/5): Great for a stop over - Location quiet, safe and easy parking, local to the cruise port. Having a dowstairs toilet separate from the upstairs one too. Spacious bedrooms. Great communication. Outside garden area to sit for any smokers, and ashtray included. Milk and biscuits, tea, coffee on arrival. A great chippy around the corner (prefer cash). The place is a bit tired and the upstairs beds need new mattresses, they've definitely had their day, sadly. The chairs around the dining table a bit cramped and very heavy to move. Lounge had the dining table in it, making the space feel small and not cosy and relaxing, just functional only.
- Dean (1/5): Bad - The stylish design Quilts were thin, old and holey. Quilt cover stained upstairs double bed. Windows wide open very cold at first.
Upstsirs hot sink tap spins round and hot water gushed onto the floor ! Downstsirs door hard to close as door has dropped and scraps on the floor do couldnt close door.
No instructions on paying. Was told pay on arrival or leaving but didnt have any details to pay. Came home not paying and then get alot of phone calls and messages asking to pay but was watching my children in a judo competition and then on way home to hertfordshire.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vicki (7/5): Good -
- Colin (6/5): Nice house served its purpose for the time we were there - The location for cruise ship Both toilet seats need fixing
- Rebecca (7/5): Good -
- Jacek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sara (10/5): Great house - Great location, lovely comfortable house , great facilities, great parking , really spacious. Nothing at all
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Lesley (5/5): Could have been so much nicer with a bit more attention. - Beds were comfortable although made up with sheets that were too small so kept coming off the mattress.
Property could have been really nice if better maintained. Kitchen equipment and oven was filthy. Garden chairs were peeling, kids garden toys tatty and as for the BBQ, held together by rust! Curtain hanging off in lounge. Advertised as having two bathrooms but one was a downstairs toilet with tiny sink and only cold water.
- Keith (6/5): Pleasant -
- Paata (10/5): Exceptional - They took special care for our babies.
- Trewartha (6/5): OK for 1 night stay. This property has huge potential, let down by lots of little things. - Location. Nice quiet residential area close to Port
Size. Rooms were a good size Fridge was dirty. Not a problem as it was a one night stay.
Kitchen cupboards also dirty.
No bedside lights in some rooms
Not enough sofa space in living room
No curtains in some bedrooms, only blinds which did not keep the light out.
Master bedroom bed had missing slat. Also sheets did not fit properly.
cooker top dirty
Bed headboard not fitted correctly.
Lots of little things.
- Adam (7/5): Not stunning but was nice for 2 days - Bedrooms and lounge were perfect.kitchen well equipped. Good communication with the owner Ash. Peeling floor, sticking doors, fag ends outside the back door and weeds growing the the astro.
- Gemma (8/5): Perfect for family - Stayed for 1 night only with family as we was visiting paultons park. Great communication and information provided from owner. Shops, restaurants and takeaways all close by. House was great and had all the facilities we needed. Would definitely stay again. House seemed clean enough but quite thick dust along skirting and canvases on walls. Not a problem for us but if it was someone who had allergies or asthma it may be.
Also pictures advertised showed a trampoline in the garden which my 3 year old was excited about so a bit of a let down that it wasn't available but still wouldn't put me off staying again.
- Amanda (8/5): Family cruisers - Good location for shops and fast food
Generous outside space
Plenty of parking space Not enough seating in the lounge
Had to clean the oven before we could use it
Had to dry the towels before we could use them
Hot water for the bath was very slow
- Amanda (10/5): Better than a hotel or guest house - Size of bedrooms
Washing machine Toys not very good in the garden
Was told we could stay until 11.30am but the cleaner came at 11.
Not enough seating in lounge for 6 people
- Karen (9/5): Superb - Plenty of room, easy parking, key lock entrance,
As someone else had said you could just do with a small extra chair in the dining/ sitting room. Great garden if you want to sit out or have children. Only stayed one night due to getting on a cruise ship. Who stay again. Nothing
- Joanne (10/5): Great house in a great location - location perfect for the ports, close to shops and mcdonalds for breakfast. All clean and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend and use again.
- Julie (10/5): With access to Southampton port this was a fabulous little house. The host was very helpful and replied immediately to o - Perfect for our overnight stay. Easy access to amenities. Spacious it had everything we needed including a lovely garden
- Val (7/5): Good house for a short stay. - Everything was as described. It was easy to get in, and there was enough kitchen equipment. The shower was hot, and towels soft. Beds in back bedroom were uncomfortable but others were fine. Very kind of the host to leave some sweets and biscuits for us. The house is in a quiet road and it was easy to park outside. Needed a towel in the downstairs cloakroom.
- Michele (9/5): Superb - Warm, good location easy to find.lots of amenities in the property, very welcoming! Lack of lounge seating, not enough seating for 4 people, could have used the window area to provide more settees
- Vinny (8/5): Overall we were very happy with the property & location. Would stay again in the future. - The decor was clean & modern. Was very accessible friendly. A few tiles were coming loose in the hallway downstairs. In one of the bedrooms upstairs the plus was broken so could not use the lamp. In the sink in the kitchen there was no plug.
- Clark (8/5): Short stay - The beds. The cleanliness. The location. The dining chairs are peeling and caught two of the girls trousers. The bathroom didn't have a hand rail to hold when getting in or out of the bath/shower.
- Eva (7/5): Good -
- Holly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (1/5): Bad -
- Lisa (7/5): Convenient - Good location, nicely decorated. Biscuits nice touch It was nice but we struggled to get regular channels like BBC etc. Definitely needed bigger towels. Bedding in downstairs room - duvet didn’t fit cover so uncomfortable to sleep in. Downstairs toilet blocked and the sink bubbled when you flushed.
- Jeremy (4/5): It did the job for one night but wouldn't have stayed longer. - The bedrooms were a good size. There were a lot of cleaning products available and surfaces were clean. The bedrooms were well aired rather than hot and stuffy: the upstairs windows were open when we arrived at night. It meant the house was cold but at least it was aired. Milk, biscuits and a few teabags were provided. The street was quiet. The following issues contributed to a general sense of neglect and low standards: leak to dining room window frame; faulty hot water tap in bathroom; faulty shower head attachment to slide pole; no lock on downstairs toilet; stained bed sheet; mouldy grouting in bathroom; towel smelt of old biscuits; fridge temperature at 8 degrees (should be between 2 and 5); tacky decor and ugly garden.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Ideal for our stay for a family of 5 - Lovely large house with a great garden for young kids.
Plenty of room for a large group.
Great communication with the owner.
Thank you Nothing
- Daniel (8/5): Very good - Great location, parking outside the property The double bed was small
- Sivaprakasam (8/5): Very good - Rooms are nice. 1 shower room for 4 people is not sufficient. Given its 3 bedroom apartment, should at least have 2 shower area
- Diane (7/5): Convenient location - Very well positioned for the red funnel ferry port. Very well furnished bedrooms.
The communication with the owner was excellent and she kindly sent on a piece of medical equipment accidentally left behind. Ash went above and beyond my expectations. Advertised as 2 bathrooms but only 1 with a downstairs toilet off the kitchen.
Some minor adjustments would make this an excellent property.
- Andrew (9/5): Ideal for the larger families who want to stay together. - Good location for Southampton cruise terminal, comfortable, clean and spacious.
- Hall (10/5): Exceptional - Just what we needed, close to Southampton Nothing
- Anonymous (6/5): It was ok but was expecting more - The bedrooms are lovely. The hosts seem very good and very communicative. The living area is too small for the amount of people it can sleep. Living room/ dining area too small, we couldn’t all even relax on the sofa. The kitchen wasn’t overly clean.
- Seema (10/5): highly recommend for the families with kids planning to visit Peppa pig world - its a very big , beautiful , clean house with big tastefully decorated bedrooms ,living room dinning and garden . there are lots of attractions for kids in the back garden. the host was superb she went out of the way to make our stay comfortable .there were plenty of snacks on arrival . the travel cot was provided . cant thank enough for making our one night stay memorable. there was nothing not to like in this house . everything was perfect
- Stephanie (7/5): Good -
- Kerry-marie (10/5): Great would return - The location, the property it self was clean and had everything we needed Nothing everything was great
- Kamal (9/5): Superb -
- Molly (8/5): Overall a lovely stay. Very good location and lots of space in the house, would stay here again, great value for money. - The property is lovely and clean very comfortable and a great location. Lack of plug sockets in top back twin room, not many mirrors.
Tv downstairs has no aerial.
One of the top rooms should be a double and keep the others as twin or single.
- Obada (8/5): Very good - The host took care of all small details to make us comfortable, property very clean and good location
- Barbara (9/5): Would stay again - Great location for the Cruise terminal and house met all our needs. All good no complaints
- David (2/5): Very poor - Location and cost Not clean and the back garden full of dangerous kids toys old bbq. Old trampoline.... rubbish lying about.
Be better just being an empty back garden
Clean and without the junk.
- Karen (7/5): Very clean, quiet house with lovely bedrooms but requiring maintenance - Very clean, great location, easy parking, great info from the owners beforehand, lovely bedrooms, quiet location yet near shops. Lounge, kitchen and garden need maintaining - furniture loose, radiator cover in lounge very loose, garden fence/gate insecure with dangerous trampoline, floor strip between hall and kitchen needs screwing down. Hot water took hours to warm up (had to boil kettles for child’s bath).
- Juju (10/5): Exceptional - House is cosy, we loved the garden, lovely adition to what we booked. Rooms are specious, nice colours, detailed interior. There were no towels in the toilets. Other than that , we all had a great time.
- Lewismichael (9/5): Superb - Spacious, clean and tidy great location. Ash the owner was very helpful. Trampoline was abit unsafe for kids. Needs updating
- Katherine (10/5): Clean and comfortable stay with very helpful host. - Good rooms with lots of bed options. Clean and comfortable. Lovely quiet area and good location. 5-10 minutes to Shirley high street and a 40 minute walk into Southampton. We had no tea towels or kitchen scissors. Could also have done with some waste paper bins in the bedrooms and hand towels in the bathroom.
