Guest Reviews
- Helen (5/5): - Poor lighting. No chair in room. All shared facilities Only 1 power point. 1bedside table
- Ankia (5/5): Good food but the actual hotel wasn’t clean and updated - The food was great for the price and good portions. The fact that we have to share bathroom’s weren’t the best. My bed sheets were dirty and definitely not changed from the person before. Unfortunate I went to bed really late so couldn’t complain to staff
- Ankia (5/5): - Food was very good Dirty beds. Only went to bed at midnight and discovered hair, marks and dry tree leaves in beds. Obviously not fresh and clean. Who do we complain to that time of night?
- Dean (10/5): Great location very pretty good service - Old but clean
- Sam (6/5): Good - No breakfast provided. Old fashioned, toilets and bathrooms 30 metres away. Traditional old fashioned hotel needing a bit of an upgrade.
- Fiona (4/5): -
- Robin (8/5): I really enjoyed it and nice common room. - The breakfast was average. Friendly staff. Everybody was close nit. The room was somewhat dark.

- Ficsher (9/5): Virkelig god oplevelse overall, men man skal lige være opmærksom på at der ikke er aircon - Virkelig hyggeligt, god stemning og aktiviteter på baren meget varmt da der ikke er AC i den gamle bygning

- Debra (10/5): - The room was clean, nicely furnished and comfortable tho my room , no. 6, was pretty tiny. With no ac the standard fan they provided, was adequate and with the double doors out into the verandah, open tho curtains closed, and cool breeze from the balcont, it was a comfortable sleep. The bathroom facilities were clean also. All in all, tho i thought quite expensive on the weekend, it was a lovely stay.
The covered enclosed verandah is rrally nicely decorated..like a home away from home. Overhead fan would have been a better option for cooling the room.

- Marta (10/5): - Charming property, lovely stay, clean and friendly place. Just the noise from outside, but it wasn't a huge issue, it is an old building, so we expected it.
- Jane (7/5): -
- Robert (10/5): Relaxing, comfortable and fruendly - The availability of coffee was great as there was no breakfast
The staff were soo friendly and the food was great, made us feel like we were back in our home village in Ireland not on the anonymous Gold Coast No complaints a confu and friendly stay with great food
- Susanne (10/5): Great hotel with gorgeous cafe nearby. Staff were so friendly! - Great location, friendly staff, country music festival was on and it was so much fun! Nothing
- Jo (10/5): -
- Kitty (10/5): - The staff and locals were so nice it made the whole stay incredible. Comfy beds and cosy rooms were great. Bathrooms were clean and didn’t feel awkward with a shared bathroom at all
- Christina-Grace (10/5): - The friendliness of the staff and patrons. No heaters in the rooms or bathrooms... chilly but fun though.
- ian (9/5): -
- Angela (8/5): Great spot! We’ll be back again. - Great atmosphere and food Double bed was uncomfortable
- John (7/5): Good value for money, would stay again. - The hotel has a bit of character and is in a quiet scenic spot. There was a good spot to keep our bicycles safe and out of the weather. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Unfortunately there was a general power outage due to the bomb cyclone so we missed out on dinner. The property is worn and shabby. Hot water ran out.
- Narrell (8/5): Very good -
- Motta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (7/5): Good. Staff fantastic. Entertainment unreal. - Poor lighting in room. Room needed to be aired. Smoker meals ran out. Minimal
Menu for dinner.
- Chris (8/5): Loved Our Stay! - The atmosphere. The food and drinks were very good. The beds were comfy and the other guests were good company too. Loved the well-carpeted hallway and the collection of old but comfy furniture along the verandah. The lift was 'Out of Order!!!'😅😅😅 (There isn't one!) Getting our luggage up two steep flights nearly killed us. We will ask for help next time. We realised that we are becoming senior seniors now! The stairs became more manageable with practice! It would be good if there were some grab rails in the showers... they felt a bit slippery and dangerous. My friend missed having a hair dryer. Ran out of milk for morning coffee.
Not complaints... just subtle suggestions if possible. Great value for money in this expensive age!
- Keira (5/5): Passable -
- Denis (1/5): cancelled our stay after viewing our accommodation - rooms needed updating, with facilities you would expect, when paying that amount of money
- Geoff (8/5): Very good - upstairs recently efurbished. communal kitcken was adequate. TV in loungs ( none in rooms) has poor reception. All new carpet made it cosy. Noise a problem from downstairs. However, would come again for a break away in this quaint country toen.
- Dayna (8/5): A fun overnight stay in a country pub - Located centrally, the pool was a nice extra, the outdoor garden was lovely at sunset, staff were cheerful and welcoming, nice to have a game of pool. Rooms were comfy and clean. Limited airflow in the rooms, ceilings fans would be a good idea. Furnishings are dated and in need of an update. Woukd be nice to have had some music or entertainment on the Sat night. Limited vegetation and gluten free meals.
- Anthony (9/5): Superb -
- Dennis (9/5): Superb -
- Sheree (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jaida (10/5): Exceptional - Nice to be able to walk straight up to our rooms after a few drinks, and did not see any spiders!
- Estelle (8/5): Very good - Orthentic. Friendly staff. Good meals at a reasonable price. Noisy but to be expected.as it's a pub. Next time we'll request a room at the back of the hotel.
- Joern (4/5): Disappointing -
- Patrick (9/5): Superb -
- Alithia (7/5): Great place for a short term stay, affordable, a level up from back packing feel. - recently renovated, very pretty. great showers, lovely towels room didnt have windows, only doors that opened to a corridor.

- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chantal (10/5): Womans Land - Location is great for exploring. Staff and locals were friendly.
Great old hotel with lots of history.
Clean, tidy and relaxed atmosphere.
- Yu-jen (5/5): The place unfortunately did not live up to our expectations - The receptionist was nice and helpful. No air conditioning. The place is old and on a day like 30 plus degrees did bring out nasty bugs.
- Steve (8/5): Very good -
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (7/5): Good -
- Louise (8/5): Great fun experience in a friendly small town - Loved the old world charm, wide verandahs and fun pub downstairs
- Cecilia (8/5): Great place to stay - Very comfortable stay in a lovely big room with great beds, food was good and reasonable priced. We love Tyalgum
- Belinda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adel (6/5): Could of been lovely but on a cold rainy night was was not at all good no planns for bad weather or - The big breakfast was great .The bathroom situation was strange could imagine getting out of a shower to run into a strange man coming out of the one next to you. had imagined male and female shower areas with toilets. Two toilets for 14 rooms each woth one or two people and the place was full. The caravan park had better showers and toilets.
Liked the renovations decore but that.s not everything just visual. The beds were good but it was cold and we asked for extra blankets we never got. bathrooms see above for detail. No heaters and no extra blankets it was a cold rainy night unusual for end of September but it was cold in the room. As it rained all night the entainment was in the sports bar but the sports screenes although not noisey were so big so many with action on each one was not good for the overall atmosphere
of listening to music over a drink.
- Jacqueline (5/5): Passable -
- Kathleen (10/5): Great time away - This hotel was a lovely stay - visited with friends and had a great time
The staff were extra nice and also what made the stay so much more memorable

- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Alexandra (9/5): Great location and a great atmosphere - It is an absolutely fantastic venue. Staff were amazing, hotel was clean and the pool was the highlight of both Adults and Children. It was a very hot weekend while we were there (32-33 degrees) and unfortunately there was no air conditioning. However staff have notified that it is being installed within the coming months.
- Murray (8/5): Great rural location, good food and staff were great, live music was nice too - location was great for our motorbike group to stay at after a days ride No AC in rooms
- Debbie (9/5): Superb -
- Thelma (10/5): Exceptional - I loved the charm and country character of this Hotel. It was very clean , cosy and comfortable right in the centre of the beautiful Township.

- Toni (7/5): Good -
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Amber (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lindemann (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (7/5): Typical rural pub in Australia - Location staff ambience No heat in rooms
- Mark (5/5): Passable - No heating in the rooms made the stay a little uncomfortable.
- Marina (5/5): Passable - The location and staff were great. There was a large hole in the bedroom window that wasn't covered up and consequently let all the cold wind, party noise and light from the verandah in.
- Beatrijs (3/5): Poor - Centre of town Booking was done for extended family to attend Shakespeare performance. Their feedback was that the room was not ready when they arrived. Space was very limited with no space to hang clothes or put out any luggage. We also had indicated one traveller with limited mobility, however room was located on top floor.
- Ruth (7/5): As a cheap stay we were reasonably happy. - Was in a convenient location for me. Good restaurant. We had place to ourselves so sharing bathroom, toilets not an issue. No heating at all. When we stayed it was cold. No microwave or toaster in common area. No TV in bedroom. Common area had TV but only 1 or 2 stations. No breakfast Monday to Friday.
- Robin (8/5): Very good - Beautiful setting in the Tweed Valley. Great village centre.
- Julie (9/5): Everything went off tremendously-staff & locals made us feel very welcome-over 40 of us ! - Breakfast ok.A group of us stayed for 3 nites , 2 nites & i nite for a family reunion that the Pub catered for us. Everybody loved it & we will be back in 2026-our Grandfather built the pub- John Fowler Fitzhenry. There was 17 out of 23 1st cousins attended & more will attend in 2026. Maybe a hoy breaky for who is staying?
