Le monsieur à la réception très gentil, il m’a offert le petit déjeuner le jour de mon arrivée (très tôt le matin après le bus de nuit) une des employées passée le temps avec son téléphone dans les espaces communs (voir et écouter ) même si le volume n’était pas très fort, cela créait un bruit de fond désagréable pendant que les clients dînaient ou se reposaient dans le lobby. J’ai trouvé cela peu professionnel dans un environnement hôtelier. D’ailleurs sortir des toilettes sans se laver les mains, sous les yeux des clients, et aller directement les servir ne m’a vraiment pas plu.

• NATHALIE (8/5): Tres bel hotel et tres agreable pour un court sejour quand on part tres tôt en excursion - Tres bel hotel et le restaurant est tres agreable et tres bon . Les chambres sont spacieuses et tres bien equipees avec eau et bouilloire ,thé et café , la sall de bain est tres fonctionnelle et tres propre . La petite terrasse donne sur des champs de riz et les montagnes à l'infini et le coucher de soleil fantastique !! L hotel est en beton et il y a bcp de resonnance quand les gens sont dans le couloir et dans le restaurant . Les voisins ont des coqs tres tres bruyants et il y a une eglise pas loin qui fait la celebrartion du matin avec des hauts parleurs des 5am . Les matelas sont un peu durs , il faut le signaler mais on finit par s'y faire ! Ce n est pas un hotel pour faire un long sejour de repos
• Thea (9/5): Perfecte plek om een paar dagen te verblijven, er is veel te zien en ontdekken in de omgeving. Uitzicht vanuit de kamer - Prachtige plek en heerlijk rustig hotel aan de rand van de stad. Echt de beste plek om te verblijven in Rantipao Iets meer variatie in eten was fijn geweest.
• NigelSearle (9/5): Santai means calm and it was - Lovely staff, a limited but very delicious menu, the breakfast is terrific, the view over the rice fields and mountains very relaxing, Christian on reception was exceptional letting us check in early as soon as our room was cleaned after arriving very early on the sleeper bus from Makassar. All good though at times the Internet was slow, as there is no TV best to download movies beforehand & wear headphones so you do not disturb others.

• Heather (9/5): - We had a room with a balcony overlooking the rice paddies & the view was great. The room itself was clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was clean and has lots of hot water. We had breakfast included and the breakfast was great - it included fruit, yoghurt, toast and cereals as well as Nasi Gorang and egg dishes which were cooked to order. The staff were lovely and helpful. The hotel is a walk (or a very quick taxi) from the main town but that was a positive for us as we found the hotel to be the best place to eat in town & there is a good riverside cafe nearby. The WiFi was ok but not that strong.

But what exceeded our expectations very much was when we got sick. We were taken care off so well, contacting dokter, adjusting food so we could eat a little bit, the caring words... We are so very thankful to the staff. -

Great menu card and I must say, even when the restaurant was full it never took more than 20 minutes to get lunch or dinner served and it was all the time best quality. I also love the coffee selection, everything is available. Best hotel in entire Rantepao, no doubts. Breakfast variety could be a bit improved.

• SATYA SUNDAR (10/5): Outstanding Stay. Great service and very friendly staff. - Excellent breakfast. Great food quality, though the choices were limited for breakfast. The restaurant menu and food was outstanding. It will be worthwhile to add a few more vegetarian dishes to the menu. The internet connectivity and bandwidth is unreliable. It was impossible to do any zoom calls owing to patchy connectivity and poor bandwidth.

L'hôtel dans son ensemble est décoré soigneusement dans un style Toraja épuré. Pas beaucoup de chambres donc calme. Bon repas le soir. Personnel très attentif. Il manque une piscine où se rafraîchir le soir après les visites de la journée.

We had a taxi agree to take us 2km (from where the bus dropped us off) to the hotel for 50k idr. When we got to the hotel the driver wanted 100k. The driver enlisted the man at the front desk to try to get 100k. I asked the man at the front desk if 100k is normal to go 2k. He said “sometimes” Which is a lie. If you don’t hire one of the guides in the lobby, they are not very friendly.

Clean spacious room with balcony overlooking a rice fiend. I think I could say that this is the best hotel in town, it's the newest. Really nice staff. Food at restaurant was fair but they did make nice pineapple juice. Road to enter is rough and bumpy but not a big deal. No elevator.

• fun plus (10/5): ABSOLUTLEY A LOVELY PLACE TO EXPLORE SANTA TORAJA - BREAKFAST OPTIONS WERE GREAT. IT IS ABEAUTIFUL HOTEL, STAFIS VERY WELCOMNG AND ATTENTIVE. BATHROOM LIGHTING WAS NOT TOO BRIGHT SO I HAD TROUBLE SEEING MY CONTACTS TO PUT THEM IN MY EYES.

L'hôtel n'y est pas pour grand chose mais les coqs qui se livrent à un concours de cocoricos au petit matin quasiment sous nos fenêtres, pour le réveil aux aurores, c'est parfait, pour la grasse mat, too bad.

• Sulistia (8/5): Clean, nice staff and a beautiful view from our balcony. - It was a nice place to stay. Our room was on the first floor and had a beautiful view over the rice fields. The room was spacious and clean. Staff was helpful. Tip: order bakso kuah at the restaurant, enak sekali!, Tip 2: if you need someone to show you around and tell you about Toraja, ask for Daud. Good storyteller and guide and speaks English well. There’s no (mini)fridge in the room.

• Rene (8/5): Leuk verblijf om van daar uit dagtrips te maken 2 dagen is echt genoeg. - De kamer is mooi met een leuk balkon. Het uitzicht vanaf de ontbijtzaal is geweldig. Lekkere warme douche moet wel 3 minuten wachten tot er warm water uit komt. Prima uitvalbasis voor dagtrips. Het ontbijt is erg standaard. Niet beter of slechter dan andere middenklasse verblijven in Indonesië. Vooral voor Aziaten is het ontbijt goed. Slappe koffie en voor cappuccino moet je helaas bijbetalen. Jammer! Als je naar de winkelstraat wilt moet je via een slecht verlicht zandpad. Het eten in hun restaurant valt tegen. Het restaurant aan de overkant is het beter. In het dorpje zelf is niets te doen.

Servizi costosi rispetto alla media di Toraja. Per esempio servizio lavanderia a 45000rp al chilo rispetto ai 10000rp standard. Motorino a 150.000rp rispetto ai 100.000rp standard.
• Jonas (9/5): Great stay - Almost everything. I can only recommend this hotel if you are in Toraja. The upper floor rooms have a great view over the rice fields and mountains. The coffee provided for breakfast is bad. You will have to pay for a good cup of coffee for breakfast. However, the complementary coffee bags in the room is great quality coffee - strange.

• Rikke (10/5): A tranquil base with excellent help to organise short notice amazing tours with local guides! - Really lovely, modern, tranquil hotel - good decoration, kind of a cool "Bali" vibe with concrete, wood and good design. Amazing views of quiet rice paddy fields. Communal area and restaurant is a nice place to hang out in the evenings. Staff are friendly and helpful - and should you need help with planning amazing local guidance for tours/visits to funeral ceremonies and grave sites etc. with excellent knowledge, then ask for Rashid who can help you plan both guides and driver. We went out with Yohannes (guide) and Mingu (driver) and we had such a lovely few days with them; they went above and beyond to make sure we saw everything we wanted and more and were so knowledgeable in sharing information about the local traditions and culture. Highly educational and lovely! The food in the restaurant was kind of average... If they upped the food menu and flavours a notch, this stay would have been even better.

• Peta (10/5): Gorgeous hotel in the perfect location - Santai Toraja is a gorgeous hotel surrounded by beautiful scenery. The staff were lovely and always accommodating. The food was delicious and well priced. And the room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The hotel is in the perfect location for anyone wishing to visit the local traditional villages and sites and is also able to connect you with some wonderful tour guides and a driver should you wish.

Laundry service excellent. We asked for a scooter; that was taken care of in a good way. We enjoyed riding the bike. Hotel is very clean. The bed wasnt fitting us well. Matras to tough. The animals outside who make noise during the night. But thats what happens in rural location. Our last day there was a big group; who made a lot of noise - also early in the morning. The staff could have told them to reduce noise cause of the other guests
• Chuong (10/5): Exceptional - A very comfortable place to stay in Tana Toraja. Owner and staff are very helpful and engaging. Location is in quiet area of town with spacious modern room and sweeping balcony view on the 2nd floor, which has the best rooms. Good Torajan drip coffee in room. Breakfast is good with freshly made eggs, some Indonesian varieties, and good choice of fruits Restaurant menu is fairly limited but the cafe across from hotel makes excellent grilled fish There are plenty of guide service available at hotel at reasonable prices. An excellent choice for a good value hotel option. None

The view out over the rice fields with the mountains behind was magical. Staff were all really cheerful and friendly and helpful and we felt so lucky to stay here. Thanks to the wonderful staff. Sometimes the water was not as warm as we would have liked in the shower but overall our time in this hotel was fantastic.

It was nicely decorated and felt new. - Shower pressure was great! - Staff were generally quite helpful. - The tour guide they recommended, Yohan, was incredible! If you can request Yohan’s details through them, do - he’ll make your Toraja trip a memorable one. - They overbooked us so we didn’t get the room we requested, an issue as we did need two seperate beds. We had to move during our stay. - It’s isolated, which is both a benefit and a curse, but means you are not within walking distance to shops or other restaurants. - They allow people to smoke indoors in the restaurant. - The rooms on the ground floor (twin rooms) lookout onto the restaurant which can be noisy and limits privacy.
