Guest Reviews
- Suzanne (10/5): -
- Bienfait (7/5): Good -
- John (5/5): Disappointed in the lack of facilities. - The welcome from Mary. As the heating was broken she warmed the place with fan heaters The arrangement in the lower bedroom meant you could not use the wardrobe and therefore nowhere to put your clothes. No hairdryer.
- Alan (6/5): Pleasant and comfortable stay but self-catering hampered by lack of kitchen equipment basics - 1. Nice feel to the property (barn conversion).
2. Heating good
3. Beds comfortable. 1. Kitchen not equipped well enough: no tin opener, no bottle opener, no cloths/brushes for washing up, only 1 wine glass and 2 other odd glasses (but more provided on request on second day).
2. Broken coombe windows mended with gaffer tape.
3. No property information and safety folder (we assumed there was no short-term-let licence due to its exemption if rolled into the next door lodge accomodation, but not sure the separate barn qualifies for that). Information pack should explain lack of licence if mot required).
- Scott (7/5): A basic place, but decent value overall. - The beds were really comfortable.
The dishwasher was clean and tablets were provided.
Mary was friendly.
Rooms were spacious.
It was easy to find and drive to. There was confusion about the checkout time. On my booking info it said 11am, but at 10am I had the staff at the door asking me to leave. They allowed me to stay till 11am and said they didn't realise it said that in my booking details. Poor communication between staff, and really annoying for me.
The shower was tiny in the en suite, I barley fit in it.
The hob in the kitchen had all its markings removed so there was no way of knowing easily which knob controlled which hob and what temperature. I phoned the staff to ask how to use it and they said they don't have a hob in their own house and so don't know how to use this one either. Mary was apologetic about it.
There was a washing machine... but no detergent.
The heating was broken, but small heaters were provided. They weren't the best but did the job.
